SUPPORTING BREAST CANCER ROYAL TIPPLE

Royal Collection Trust, a department of the Royal Household, has launched a premium small-batch London dry gin for sale in its shops. The spirit is infused with citrus and herbal notes derived from 12 botanicals, several of which come from the Buckingham Palace gardens, and include lemon verbena, hawthorn berries, bay leaves and mulberry leaves. The garden at Buckingham Palace provides a habitat for 30 species of birds and more than 250 species of wildflowers. The planting of mulberry trees was popularised in England during the reign of James I, and this royal association continues today, with 40 different species of the trees in the Palace garden. The Buckingham Palace gin will also be served at official events at the Palace. All profits from sales of the gin go to The Royal Collection Trust, a registered charity, and help fund the care and conservation of the Royal Collection, and help the Royal Collection Trust’s work. The 70cl bottle is priced at £40 and can be purchased online from www.rct.uk/shop

Little Greene has been pledging its support for Breast Cancer Haven for several years and donating proceeds from sales of every tin of paint and roll of wallpaper sold throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. This year, the company is pledging a minimum donation of £20,000. Breast Cancer Haven is a charity that supports women through their breast cancer treatment. It provides tailored packages of emotional, physical and practical support that help women through this difficult time. Every £1000 raised provides a 10-week course of treatment. With centres in London, Hereford, Yorkshire, Wessex and West Midlands, Breast Cancer Haven is the only national breast cancer charity that provides one-to-one support to improve the quality of life of anyone affected by breast cancer. Working alongside the NHS, Breast Cancer Haven offers a free, integrated breast cancer support service and a telephone service for patients unable to travel to one of their centres. Trained therapists, counsellors and advisers are on hand to listen to individual patients and provide them with bespoke practical, emotional and physical support.
