VVVV MEDIA ART
VVVV (CIRCULAR SPREADS) VVVV is a software which uses dataow approach and a visual programming interface for developing codes. It is most suitable for the purpose of real time interaction programs. I used the built in nodes to develop a few interactve programs which would change/react to audio inputs. One of the basic nodes used was Circular spreads. The various inputs like the x input, y input, width, height, factor, phase and spread count help to control the output.
VVVV (WAVE SHAPER) Another basic node used was the Wave Shaper. The input of the wave shaper when varied gives dierent types of output. The shape of the output can be contolled by the various controls such as linear, inverse, triangle, sine and rectangle.
VVVV (WAVE SHAPER) BeatDetector is a node which is used to measure the audio inputs and produce suitable outputs. The input of the BeatDetector is through the AudioIn node. Audio in takes the input from a microphone connected to the machine on which the program is running.
CONCEPT The concept is to create real time interactive designs which would change at the audio signal input. A high sensitivity microphone is used as the audio input device which is connected to the machine on which the code is running, This microphone output is used as the input for the various elements of the designs. The output is as shown in the following picture. When a person speaks into the microphone, the designs vary according to the various properties of the speech such as loudnes, intensity and pitch.
