“Article Marketing 101” Free Articles by Robert Plank

“…I've compiled free articles that Robert Plank is giving away through his site or from article directories. Long on content, short on sales, but he is hoping that you like his free stuff enough to someday buy something he's selling, of course, and if you do, I might or might not get a commission out of the deal. Regardless, you can learn a lot from reading the following articles, just like I do…”

How to Write One Article Every Day You need to write one article every single day. This might be an article you post on your blog, submit to article sites, post on a forum, mail to your list, or add to a book. If you write just one article per day, you will be able to express yourself with crystal clarity and never run out of ideas or content. If you have any piece of information that you can share, even if it's something off the wall like a new way to build a birdhouse or a type of bread you discovered at the grocery store, you should write an article about it. This trains your brain to shape your thoughts as articles, and if you adopt this practice, you can easily share information on these subjects in the future. Even if you forget and need to re-acquaint yourself with information or a specific procedure, you only need to read one of your own articles on the subject. Many courses about creating products will give you their "systems" and their "secrets" for writing articles but the only thing you need to do is: sit down and start writing. If you stick to this daily writing schedule every single day, you'll have to STOP yourself from writing. Just open up a web browser and type your article in the submission box. If you're submitting an article to Ezine Articles, type the article directly in the article submission form. If you're adding to a blog, type the article in the blog post box... the same for forums and so on. I am very much against writing articles in a form that allows you to save and put up later, such as Notepad or Microsoft Word. When you put yourself on the spot, and force yourself to finish that article before you close the web browser, click on other links or even get up from the computer, you'll finish ALL the articles you start and clear those ideas out of your head... so you'll have room for new articles! Write An Article A Day For The Next 30 Days A common question I get is, "How can I write just one article per day?" Although it doesn't seem very impressive at first, if you can write an article a day for a month, that's 30 articles. That means at least 30 links back to your site and 30 brand new search engine results when somebody looks for your name. If you can write 100 articles in 100 days, that's 100 articles that you wouldn't have had before and guess what, you only set aside a few minutes a day to make those articles. To write an article a day, I want you to cheat, I want you to plan, and I want you to get excited. What do I mean when I say "cheat" when you write articles? I don't mean plagiarize or use article spinners or write low quality articles. I mean write your articles ahead of time. Pre-schedule your articles. That means if you know you're going to write an article a day for the next 30 days, why not start off by writing five articles on the first day? That means for the next five days you don't have to write anything new. That way, you can write when you're in the mood to write and on those off days, you simply let your blog schedule out the post or you let the article site publish an article on that particular day. But guess what, you didn't have to write anything that day. The next thing you should do is group your topics together. I prefer to use mind mapping software which allows me to list my articles, drag and rearrange them and even group them into groups of 10. That way, if an article comes on Monday then Tuesday's article will be very related because I made sure to group my articles on a particular subtopic together. Finally, make sure that you're writing about topics that excite you. I'll give you an example. Let's say you were going to write an article about how to take a Word document and turn it into a PDF report. That doesn't sound like a very exciting subject. You can easily make it exciting by turning it into "Seven Ways To Create A Report," or how about "How To Make A Report In 45 Seconds Or Less." Make it exciting. Get people multiple ways or different steps or a time constraint to make the article more exciting not just for the people reading it but for you when you are writing it.

Is it Possible to Make $5000 Per Month Writing Articles? If you have big huge grandiose plans for your product launch, it's never going to get launched. Write a simple report. It doesn't have to be big, just 10 to 20 pages. Write a quick one-page sales letter for it because... it's only a report, right? Then launch it, price it at $7 or $10. Limit the special offer to 10 buyers. After 10 sales, close the offer. Now you have $100 in your pocket for writing this report... great, right? But it's not the big huge product launch you hoped for. That same afternoon, write the next chapter in the e-book. E-mail it out to all your buyers for free (if you were really evil you could charge $1 for the upgrade... but I'd rather not have to try and juggle multiple versions of the same book). Post another special offer with the upgrade book for $11... again, limiting it to 10 buyers. You can add these 10 new buyers to your list. (Funnel all sales into a product update list... otherwise this is useless.) Repeat the process. That afternoon, write another chapter, add a couple bullet points to the sales letter, mail out the free upgrade and then post the offer for $12. If you do this until you have a 50-page report (10 chapters in addition to the original report)... that's: $100 + $110 + $120 + $130 + $140 + $150 + $160 + $170 + $180 + $190 + $200 = $1,650 More importantly, it equals 110 proven buyers. You can expect many of those buy from you again if you launch similar reports for that same niche in the future. If you wrote one "article" (I call my chapters "articles") per day for a month, you would launch three reports and accumulate 330 buyers (some duplicates... let's say 200) for a profit of $5000. You don't have to write every single day. If you pumped out 5 articles in one day, you could take the rest of the week off... aside from 10 minutes a day posting a special offer and dealing with customer support.

How to Write One Article Everyday - Article Marketing 101 Continue this for six months, and you won't have to do incremental launches anymore... your list will be big enough that you can write a report, launch it, send an e-mail, and take orders. I hardly use AdWords, joint ventures, article marketing, social networking, nothing. I make a product, post on a forum, then e-mail my list of 8000 people (mostly previous buyers... because they are the most responsive!) I only launched 3 e-books in June 2007... 7 chapters, each chapter had a video, they were 50 page reports with 60-90 minutes of video. The book part took a week of writing one article-chapter per day and a total of two hours making the videos. On June 19th, 2007 alone, I made 362 sales totalling $3,058.72 ($2,850.02 after fees). The total PayPal sales for that whole month and the three products I launched was 978 sales totalling $11,420.30... $10,541.05 after fees and a couple refunds. That plus my Clickbank accounts and day job income totaled $15,000 income for one month... not bad for a 22 year old! (I was 22 at the time.) Use Videos to Properly Outsource Article Writing and Copywriting There is a right way and a wrong guy to do most things, and when outsourcing is concerned, there are many more wrong ways than right ways to delegate tasks. With article writing and copywriting, this is especially true. Many internet marketers simply say, "Give me 100 articles about canoeing!" And expect to make money. Big mistake. Although I write most of my own articles and copy, my favorite method for outsourcing is the PowerPoint ad lib. After I have chosen my niche, I will make an outline for that niche... and by outline... I mean 30 to 100 burning emotional questions related to that niche. Each one of those questions becomes an article title. Instead of writing the article, I make a PowerPoint presentation with about three slides per presentation. Each slide has a title and just one or two bullet points. Then, I fire up screen capture software like Jing or Camtasia and simply record myself, with audio, giving this PowerPoint presentation. Now, I can give the PowerPoint videos to the article writer and say, write a 250 to 500 word article on this topic using all the info I have given you here. Make sure they do not use any of the words you use, just the same ideas. With even a little bit of practice, cranking out 10 videos in one hour or 90 minutes is entirely possible, and then your day is done. Just get the writer to turn those videos into solo ads, sales letters, squeeze pages, special reports, articles, blog posts, anything you want. That is much more effective than giving a writer the name of your niche and letting them go crazy. You get exactly what you want. Also keep in mind that this method makes it extremely easy to rewrite articles. Many marketers who try to rewrite content give their written articles to writers, and tell people to rewrite the article and they end up with the exact same thing, with some words shuffled around. But if you give the same video to different writers, and make it very clear you want that writer's own interpretation of the video, you can have the same article written three or four times that is 100 percent unique.

Document all your results, use the same form letter when posting article writing and copywriting jobs so you can systemize it at some point. Heck, at some point you might even find somebody else who can do the research and record the videos for you, to then hand them off to writers. That is a good way to get on track to automated article writing and copywriting.
