ince 1992, Hoyt Homes has provided outstanding service with their work on custom homes, remodels, restorations, new neighborhoods, and small commercial projects. One of their most distinctive local projects is Water’s Edge, a development of luxury townhomes on the Clark Fork riverfront. About 12 years ago, Hoyt Homes began the first phase of building at Water’s Edge as the general contractor. As the project progressed, they took the reins as developer in the second and third phases. They are now preparing construction on the final building in the final phase. The homes at Water’s Edge have been designed in the prairie-style popularized by the American architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Free-flowing and functional interiors provide plenty of open space, while broad bands of windows invite the outside in. Strong horizontal lines and lowprofile hip roofs with deep eaves shelter stucco exteriors in natural hues, connecting the home to the natural beauty of the 8 Missoula Building & Design

landscape that surrounds it. Outdoors, low terrace walls frame beautiful riverfront views while also providing privacy to the residents. Maximum soundproofing is installed between units to reduce neighborly noises and to ensure undisturbed comfort. “The people who have bought these units have become a “family” of sorts within this development. It’s been a project that has seen the ups and downs of the real estate market in Missoula. The location is very special, and the community that’s evolved over the course of development is unique. It’s bittersweet as we come to the end of building in this subdivision,” said Wade Hoyt, owner of Hoyt Homes. Hoyt’s commitment to community is evident in the projects completed by Hoyt Homes, as well as in his time as a volunteer on the leadership team for the Missoula Building Industry Association (MBIA). As a two-time President of the MBIA, a past Builder of the Year (1999, 2009, 2012, 2017 & 2019), and a current

MBIA board member, he is inspired to help other builders become better business people and to help promote a dialog between the business and the home builder communities. “We have long-term relationships with many of our subcontractors who provide us with excellent products, materials, and labor. We can rely on them to take care of any warranty issues promptly and correctly,” said Hoyt. Awards received by Hoyt Homes include the 2019 Missoula Building Industry Association Building of the Year and 2019 BEAM Award, 2018 People’s Choice Award, 2018 Craftsmanship Award, 2018 Outdoor Living Award, 2018 Notable Kitchen Award, 2017 MBIA Builder of the Year, 2015 Missoulian’s Missoula’s Choice Contractor Award, 2012 MBIA Builder of the Year, 2011 Missoula Parade of Homes Craftsmanship Award, and the 2010 Missoula Parade of Homes People’s Choice Award.
