PROGRAM NOTES
Enough! was written in response to the angst that our students feel in school today. They face so many challenges, and this piece was written as a musical release of that stress. Students have a great time rehearsing and performing this somewhat aggressive piece. Rhythmic interplay occurs frequently with mallet lines that will provide a challenge for young keyboardists. Furthermore, young percussionists will have many opportunities to work on balance, making this a great vehicle for developing ensemble players.
This percussion ensemble version of Enough! was adapted from my concert band work by the same title. I’d also like to extend special thanks to my friend and colleague Adam Ginsburg, whose percussive editorial expertise helped make it shine!
