LOST IN A THOUGHT for
Lost in a Thought is a piece created to convey the feeling of a daydream. As sweet as a daydream is, it is often short and fleeting, and the piece is kept short to reflect this quality. The piece is simplistic and laid back, appealing to that feeling of spacing out and becoming lost in your own thoughts.
When playing this piece, do not be afraid to play around with the tempo. There is a lot of room to express yourself within this music, so feel free to speed up and slow down throughout the piece if it feels natural to you. That said, remember to maintain the general structure of the music to keep it clear for the audience. The piece is mostly on the soft side, so I recommend using mallets that are soft enough to get a nice, warm sound without sacrificing clarity.
