A weekly drop in on Wednesday mornings. Socialise with friendly staff and volunteers, make new friends, swap stories and reminisce! Enjoy the refreshments, play bingo and take part in quizzes, as well as take a ground tour.

If you’re living with long term health and mental health conditions, experiencing loneliness, living with physical and learning disabilities, complex needs or dementia, you can come along and take part in stress relieving activities like gentle yoga, relaxation and body movement, and art therapy delivered by professional therapists.

Gardening session at The Landing

The Landing is a community growing space, based on the roof car park at the Merseyway Shopping Centre. It was designed and built by Where The Light Gets In and Manchester Urban Diggers, and provides produce for the restaurant as well as the local community.

Volunteer sessions take place every Friday, where you can learn the basics of organic growing principles and get involved in tending the garden. It is an oasis for re-connecting with nature, learning, growing and socialising in an unexpected space! Friday sessions are free, and all volunteers also get a free lunch cooked by the chef at Where The Light Gets In.

Disability Stockport Poetry Club

Disability Stockport

This is a new group which involves read- ing and discussing poetry. Each month, there will be a different topic of what the poetry should be inspired by, for example, love. We will do our own writing within this time and share this with the group for discussion.

Hot drinks and cake will be provided. The aim is to get creative and have the opportunity to meet other people.

Stitch Pots

Hat Works

Join Kath Walls, in the Gallery Cafe to create a stitched pot, over 2 weekly sessions. This course is part of the Affordable Arts Series.

Kath will guide you through stitching techniques to create a keepsake pot, in which to store your change, jewellery, pens, brushes, whatever you choose!

You will be enrolled onto both sessions automatically, so make sure that you are able to attend both dates before booking.

Joining the Stockport Mind Choir can increase your confidence, be a lot of fun and help you to meet other Stockport locals. The choir takes place on the ground floor and there are no stairs. Screen printed wooden jewellery

Hat Works

You’ll learn how to screen print your own geometric design onto pre-cut wooden beads. You’ll then sand and finish the beads and chose how they’re strung. If you have time, you can also make a pair of matching earrings. The class is led by Arc Associate Artist Wendy Roby, from Stockport art studio Roby Workshop. All materials will be provided but wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy or bring an apron. Wendy’s exhibition at Arc, “Halftone, Second Half”, will be open to view before the workshop.

Dementia Awareness Day

Join Healthwatch and other organisations at Stockport Town Hall to find out more about Dementia and what support is avail- able throughout Stockport.

The event will include stalls from organisations, charities, community and the voluntary sector across Stockport that support Dementia. You can see what’s available for you and your loved ones. Enjoy talks from guest speakers and meet other people living with dementia and their carers.
