Books begin arriving at your home eight to ten weeks after your completed registration form has been received and continues until your child turns 5 or you move out of Harrisonburg / Rockingham County. If your child’s address changes, you must contact The Community Foundation, (540) 432-3863, in order to continue receiving books.

The Community Foundation of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County wants every child from birth to age five to have a consistent and reliable source of high-quality books. Dolly Parton's Imagination Library: An Initiative of The Community Foundation of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County is a monthly book gifting program that mails FREE, ageappropriate books personalized with the child's name directly to the child's home. All children under the age of 5 in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County are eligible. We want to change these children's stories by establishing reading routines, creating home libraries, and preparing children for future academic success.
