FOR MURDER

Police have made arrests in connection with the murder of 34-year-old British national Anthony Quinn in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, last weekend. Detectives say they are questioning two men in relation to the incident. Quinn, who worked as a quantity surveyor for local firm, Projetech, was reported missing by friends in the early hours of Sunday. A police search ended when his body was found close to the beach at the bottom of Technology Drive near Heaving Down Rock. He was reportedly kidnapped and ransom money demanded for his release before he met his fate, police sources said. Police have not officially confirmed the kidnapping and ransom, but sources close to the investigation have confirmed this to The SUN, saying that lawmen have supporting evidence including phone records. Despite having two men in custody, Inspector Grantley Williams of RTCI Police CID, has again appealed for witnesses to come forward. He said: “Our investigations remain at an advanced stage and we currently have two men in custody helping us with our enquiries. We are still not in a position release details of the cause of Mr Quinn’s death or a motive, but I would again ask for anyone with information to come forward as a matter of urgency. If anyone was in the vicinity of the Ports of Call, Grace Bay, Leeward Highway, Technology Drive or Long Bay areas between 4am and 10am last Sunday, and who may have seen anything suspicious, we would like to talk to them. We urge people to contact the police or Crimestoppers as a matter of urgency.” Meantime, a statement from Delphene Hartshorn of Projetech, said Quinn’s work ethic and integrity was flawless.
