‘JUMPY’ REPORTED TCI TO THE BRITS by Hayden Boyce Publisher & Editor-in-Chief onstruction company owner, David “Jumpy” Hartshorn, admitted that he wrote a report to the United Kingdom’s (UK) Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in 2007 that was extremely critical of the Turks and Caicos Islands. Hartshorn, the owner of Projetech Construction Company, made the disclosure while giving evidence in the SIPT corruption trial which is being heard by Mr. Justice Paul Harrison, who is judge and jury. In the report, Hartshorn accused the Immigration Department and the Police Force as being corrupt. He also blasted the media, civil servants and previous governors, and described the constituency of Five Cays as a “no go” area. The prominent businessman told the court that he wanted the document to remain confidential because he was “concerned about repercussions” against himself, his family and business. Responding to a question from lead prosecutor Andrew Mitchell, QC Hartshorn said he made it clear to the FCO that there was no concrete proof that could have been used in the court of law and that he had second-hand knowledge of many of the points he raised. He told the court that in his letter, he set out a number of concerns including increase in crime and the standard of education in the Turks and Caicos Islands, especially the constituency of Five Cays which he described as a “no go area” and an “unsafe place to go”. ver 500 kids from babies up to the age of 12 years old in Providenciales who attended the FLOW Christmas tree lighting & Vendors Fair at the flagship store, located along the Leeward Highway in Providenciales on Tuesday December 6th, 2016 received Christmas gifts free of charge which were presented by Santa Claus in order to spread the Christmas joy this season.
