Sailrock donates lunch boxes to South Caicos schools W ith summer coming to an end, it is the time of year when planning for a new school year comes into play. Preparation for the resumption of classes in South Caicos are in full-swing. The start of the school year can be an expensive time for parents as they attempt to equip their children with the needed supplies to put them in the best possible position to excel with their educational studies. In an effort to help alleviate this potential burden, Sailrock stepped up with the donation of 300 new lunch boxes for the students at Iris Stubbs Primary School, Cavalry Christian and Marjorie Basden High School.
Sailrock is a committed member and participant in the South Caicos community, taking an active role in the preservation of the heritage, culture and history of South Caicos. Among the many community initiatives to which Sailrock is involved, education continues to be the top priorities of these efforts. “The future is incredibly bright for South Caicos, and the young minds of this community will play a significant role in its progression,” said Matt Bywater, Executive Director of Sailrock. “Sailrock’s commitment to the support of the educational development of these students is among our highest priorities.”
Following last year’s hurricanes, Sailrock donated backpacks filled with composition books, pens, pencils, pencil cases and pencil sharpeners to the students of South Caicos’ three schools. Sailrock also hosts an annual summer internship program for the students of Marjorie Basden High School to experience first-hand what it’s like to work in the hospitality industry. Don’t forget to mark your calendars with The Food For Thought Back to School Party taking place on September 15, 2018! Sailrock is proud to sponsor this event in support of the local students, and all are invited to join in this event.
