C
o n c e r t s should be banned and bars selling alcohol closed on Sundays. That’s the view of Rev. Father Alvardo Adderley, Rector of the Church of St. Monica (Anglican) who said social ills Rev. Several bars country-wide are known to open and sell alcohol all day on Sundays, and there has been a growing trend of lavish parties being held on that day. Last Sunday, November 10th, which was also Remembrance Day, around 7,000 revelers descended on Grand Turk for the first-ever Ubersoca cruise, which was said to be the largest party event in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Reverend Adderley said the staging of such events on Sundays in wrong.

Robinson said: “Subject to the approval of the Public Financial Management Temporary Provisions Bill at the next meeting of the House of Assembly, public servants across the TCI will have the opportunity to benefit from the payment of double salaries during the month of December 2019.” She added: “The double payments will be in the form of their regular salary payments plus the payment of one month’s basic salary in the form of an interest free Christmas Advance which will be repayable over a period of 6 months from January to June 2020.
