As former president Manuel Quezon once said: “Love your country for it is the home of your people, the seat of your affection, and the source of your happiness and well-being.� This love of country that I assume is a passion we all share was what impelled the organizers of MINT to establish your college and make it an instrument to help build our nation through education. With this noble mission, we established MINT with modest capitalization, but with big dreams to develop the youth of this country to become not only model citizens, but also leaders and to excel in whatever they choose to do in life. We wanted every student to develop his potential to the fullest through an educational philosophy that departed from the centuries old method of rote learning and oneway communication from teacher to student. We sought to replace a teaching approach constrained by conformity, rigidity and antiquated rules that restrict rather than enhance the learning process. In its place we chose to use the latest technologies and pedagogical tools such as learning by doing, learning through collaboration, etc. that have been proven to make human development more efficient, effective and fun. Thus, today we feel justifiably proud at producing you, the MINT graduating class of 2016, who I am certain will help us build a better Philippines. I exhort you, therefore, to sally forth, conquer the world, pursue your dreams with the philippine flag emblazoned in your hearts and minds.
