On our eighth year, we remain consistent with our vision to be among institutions that are at the forefront of Business, Arts, and Technology education. We are proud to say that this vision reflects in our students, whose works were showcased once more at our annual honor show, PREVUE. This year, we witnessed outstanding outputs from students across all programs, once again proving that MINT College’s output-based curriculum is effective in building skillsets that are necessary for real-world application. This is also apparent in the many successes that our students managed to achieve in the last school year: • One of our film students, Kani Villaflor entered his thesis film “Logro” into the prestigious Short Film Corner of Festival de Cannes 2018. • In November 2017, MINT College bagged the MYX Choice for Best Music Video for the second time in a row for the music video of Kyla and Jason Dy’s “Tayo Na Lang Kasi.” • A Music Business Management student, Xavi Aguilar’s thesis won 1st Runner-up at Startup Weekend Manila 9. • A Multimedia Arts student, Natalie Ampil bagged bronze at the adobo Design Awards Asia 2018. Our students are on a continuous roll. Through their successes, MINT is earning the reputation of being an educational institution that pushes innovation and creativity on all fronts. The past school year was a spectacular display of their unique talents, and we could not be prouder. This year, we bring you our new Student Design Annual that reflects our commitment to encourage creativity in all forms. It features projects from Multimedia Arts, Film, and Music Business Management. With this collection of our students’ work, we hope to enthrall you, and make you believe our battle cry as we move on to bigger and greater things—there’s no stopping MINT.
Students were tasked to create an image depicting aspects of their personality, interests, aspirations, etc. The assignment required students to define the specific elements of the persona that they would depict before developing the image.

Student groups were tasked to select a successful, well established brand and specify its brand value and to leverage this into an appropriate brand extension. Each group explained their concept in detail needing to analyze and identify brand position and differentiation of the anchor brand as well as the proposed brand extension and be able to argue why their brand extension works. Each group also created convincing strategies to promote the new brand extension to their target markets.

Fredoka One is the main choice for the logo’s type due to it’s rounded corners. A rounded type represent the brand perfectly because of its friendly, fun and bubbly looks.

Gotham and Josefin Slabs were chosen simply because they are rounded types as well and yet these fonts add a more institutional feel to the brand, which is our target feel of the overall identity. Josefin Slab shall always be used as the headline, and Gotham the body.

Dear Ms. Akahara, Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth. Even the all-powerful Pointing has no control about the blind texts it is an almost unorthographic life One day however a small line of blind text by the name of Lorem Ipsum decided to leave for the far World of Grammar. The Big Oxmox advised her not to do so, because there were thousands of bad Commas, wild Question Marks and devious Semikoli, but the Little Blind Text didn’t listen. She packed her seven versalia, put her initial into the belt and made herself on the way. When she reached the first hills of the Italic Mountains, she had a last view back on the skyline of her hometown Bookmarksgrove, the headline of Alphabet Village and the subline of her own road, the Line Lane. Pityful a rethoric question ran over her cheek.
Sincerly yours,

This class equipped the students with the professional expertise needed to create their original publication by exercising a vast array of knowledge and skills that cover concept development, visualization, research, writing, and final execution. The course harnessed the students' storytelling abilities
in both written and visual form and how these two mediums must work seamlessly and compliment each other. Theoretical and practical understanding of topics related to publication design such as the history of visual communication, paper specifications, binding techniques and printing processes were also covered in the class.

The entire Humanities 1 class came together to create a group mural inspired by the Austrian Secessionist artist, Gustav Klimt, and his rich elaborated style. Using humble materials such as magazines and colored paper and also portraying a variety of themes the students created walls of collage in the spirit of Klimt’s majestic Beethoven Frieze.
The class involved the preparation of a professional creative portfolio. It began with the assessment of each student's brand values and their targeted field of design interest. A review and careful curatorship of the students' collected work from their upper level Multimedia Arts classes and their freelance projects were carried out in order to identify which should be included or improved. Students were then tasked to develop portfolio concepts that reflected their personalities while clearly communicating their professional goals. The culminating event was a Portfolio Show attended by industry professionals, who then reviewed the students' portfolios and extended actual employment opportunities after graduation.
