En temporadas recientes, el equipo de Tendencia ha realizado muy interesantes viajes por Baja California Sur, << seleccionando un municipio por edición>> y, en esta ocasión, recorrieron el municipio de La Paz. Como invitadas especiales se unieron al viaje Sofia Zuñiga y Fernanda Athie, su compañía y percepción de los lugares enriqueció la excursión.

In recent months, theTendencia team has traveled to various municipalities in the State of Baja California Sur, featuring a different one in each issue. In this edition, they showcase the municipality of La Paz, with Sofia Zuñiga and Fernanda Athie joining the team and adding their unique perspectives to the trip.

Por los lados este y oeste, el municipio colinda con asombrosas playas y una diversidad orográfica que va desde planicies, hasta la parte alta de Sierra de la Laguna. Es un gran reto para viajeros ávidos de nuevas experiencias practicar actividades como: montañismo; senderismo; apreciación y clasificación de flora y fauna; “glamping”, deportes de vehículos todo terreno, bicicleta, motocicleta o montar a caballo. En el mar, se puede practicar desde el nado libre hasta buceo con y sin tanque; pesca; esquí acuático y por, supuesto, visitas a famosos sitios históricos, islas e islotes.

Hacia el oeste, se encuentran Todos Santos y El Pescadero. Su crecimiento y economía se basan principalmente en el turismo; no obstante, el desarrollo económico también es resultado del interés por bienes raíces. Proveen una atmósfera de tranquilidad, sin prisas, con tardes de teatro al aire libre, galerías de arte y música; un directorio con gran variedad de restaurantes y festivales gastronómicos.

On the east and west sides, the municipality is surrounded by beautiful beaches and diverse terrain, including the Sierra de la Laguna plains and highlands. Adventure seekers now have a thrilling opportunity to partake in various activities, including mountaineering, hiking, appreciating flora and fauna, "glamping," all-terrain vehicle sports, biking, motorcycling, and horseback riding. In the ocean, one can enjoy free swimming, snorkeling scuba diving, fishing, water skiing, and visiting historic sites, islands, and islets.

Towards the west, you can find Todos Santos and El Pescadero. These areas have flourished thanks to tourism and an increase in real estate investment. Visitors can enjoy a peaceful and calm environment, with options for open-air theatre, art galleries, music, and a diverse selection of restaurants and food festivals.

Un sitio imperdible es Puerto Chale, está ubicado justamente frente a las islas Creciente y Santa Margarita. El estero es un auténtico paraíso del ecoturismo, acompañado por el misticismo de una interesante neblina. El atractivo más conocido es la observación de ballenas durante buena parte del año.

El Triunfo es una población que después de conocer, querrás regresar una y otra vez. Caminar por sus calles es como viajar al pasado, a la época minera. Los mejores años económicos de El Triunfo fueron hace aproximadamente 250 años, tiene encantadores lugares que preservan la historia, como muestra están el Museo del Vaquero de California y Museo Ruta de Plata que hacen remembranza a esos años de la minería. Tienen varias opciones de restaurantes, te recomendamos probar fish & chips en el Toto Frito. ¿Y por qué no? Hospedarse algunas noches en Cabañas El Triunfo Hotel. La Sra. Lupita aún conserva el oficio del tejido del “cogollo, <<que es la parte interna de la palma seca>> para hacer canastas, cestos y diferentes enseres. Ahora que, si de adrenalina se trata, una opción es aventurarse en la tirolesa, tienen cinco divertidas líneas para cruzar entre la montaña.

A must-see destination is Puerto Chale, located near the Creciente and Santa Margarita islands. The vast estuary offers an excellent ecotourism experience and is shrouded in a fascinating mist that adds to its mystique. You can also spot whales here for a significant part of the year.

After visiting El Triunfo, you will surely want to return. Exploring the town on foot, and maybe even staying overnight at Cabañas El Triunfo Hotel, feels like stepping back in time. El Triunfo enjoyed its economic heyday around 250 years ago, and it still boasts charming spots that showcase its history, such as the Museo del Vaquero de California and Museo Ruta de Plata, which are reminders of its mining past. Don't miss out on trying the fish and chips at Toto Frito during your visit. Additionally, Mrs. Lupita offers unique items made from the "cogollo," the inner part of a dried palm tree. Skilled artisans use this material to create beautiful baskets and other articles. The zip-line experience is an excellent option for those seeking an adrenaline rush. You can enjoy crossing five exhilarating lines between the mountains.

En todos estos lugares, la plática con la gente local es motivante, cuentan leyendas, historias y conversan sobre sus oficios, sus antepasados; esos momentos transcurren mientras nos comparten un café de talega y se convierten en agradables tertulias.

The conversational rapport with the local people is motivating in all these places. They tell legends and stories and talk about their trades and ancestors; these moments pass while they share a "Talega" coffee with us and turn into pleasant get-togethers.
