— BOBCAT CLUB 2018 Membership Guide —
MISSION STATEMENT The Bobcat Club is the principal fundraising arm of the Texas State Intercollegiate Athletics Department. The Bobcat Club has provided a way for supporters to help talented Texas State student-athletes receive a top-tier education while pursuing their goals both on and off the field of competition. While the primary focus is providing scholarship support for studentathletes, the Bobcat Club is also focused on raising money for facility upgrades and high-impact projects that directly benefit our student-athletes.
University Events Center opening Fall 2018
The Bobcat Club is an organization of alumni, fans, former student-athletes, coaches and friends joining together to provide current student-athletes with a first-class education and a chance to excel both in the classroom and on the playing field. With the rising cost of school tuition, private contributions and support from our members is absolutely critical to ensure the ongoing success of our student-athletes.
LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS Texas State Supporters, Let me start by saying thank you. February 2018 was a milestone for Bobcat Athletics: It marked the 10th anniversary of Texas State University committing to the highest level of intercollegiate competition, NCAA Division I FBS. Many people deserve credit for making that commitment, including President Denise Trauth and her Administration, The Texas State University System Board of Regents and certainly the wonderful students at Texas State. The transition to FBS competition has created exciting new opportunities for our student-athletes. We must also thank the loyal members of the Bobcat Club, donors, alumni and friends who supported us throughout our transition to FBS. Over the last decade, your generous donations have resulted in the record growth of our annual fund, endowed scholarships and capital investments.
While The Drive to FBS may be over, this is only the beginning of our journey. It is once again time to set our sights higher and raise the bar. It is time for Bobcat Athletics to recommit and pursue Comprehensive Excellence in the classroom, in competition and in the community by all of our student-athletes. To achieve this goal we will need to recruit high-quality student-athletes and provide them with scholarship support and resources to grow into scholars, citizens and champions. To achieve this goal we will also need the continued support of our alumni and friends. Help us commit to Comprehensive Excellence by supporting student-athlete scholarships with a financial contribution to the Bobcat Club. As always, thank you for your continued support. Eat ,em up, Cats!

COMMITTING TO FUTURE EXCELLENCE
COMPREHENSIVE EXCELLENCE IN FUNDRAISING High achievement takes place in the framework of high expectations and ours could not be any higher as we look toward the Bobcat Club’s 50th anniversary in 2021. We are beginning a fiveyear fundraising initiative for Bobcat Club scholarship support and high-impact projects that will directly affect our 400-plus student-athletes and coaches. 2018 begins our call to Comprehensive Excellence in every aspect of athletic fundraising in support of our student-athletes. Comprehensive Excellence is about being a leader in the classroom. Comprehensive Excellence is leading a team in competition for championships. Comprehensive Excellence is serving the community and giving back. Comprehensive Excellence is connecting and engaging our alumni to enhance pride and tradition. Comprehensive Excellence is an unwavering commitment from our staff, fans, donors and constituents to provide our student-athletes and coaches with the necessary resources in the pursuit of conference championships and NCAA tournament appearances.

Texas State Athletics is committed to providing the necessary resources to help our studentathletes achieve Comprehensive Excellence. One of the ways Bobcat Athletics provides these resources is through private support; the Bobcat Club has established the following goals to help our student-athletes maintain a competitive edge.
GOAL 1 INVESTING IN SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENTS Surpass $15 million in student-athlete endowments by 2021-22
Why it’s important: In many cases, the opportunity to receive an athletic scholarship is the only way some of our student-athletes are able to attend college. Your gift will make an impact on an individual and on Texas State’s ability to recruit the best student-athletes. An endowed scholarship is a legacy that will last generations.
GOAL 2 INVESTING IN ANNUAL GIVING Surpass $3 million annually in the Bobcat Club by 2021-22
Why it’s important: Scholarships provide opportunities to individuals and allow Texas State to recruit the highest quality student-athletes. Funding scholarships is crucial to the success of an athletic department; at $7.2 million per year, scholarships are the department’s largest annual expense.
GOAL 3 INVESTING IN THE J. RYAN WHITTINGTON LEADERSHIP ACADEMY Surpass $500,000 in the Whittington endowment by 2021-22
Why it’s important: Through the Jarrett Ryan Whittington Leadership Academy, studentathletes will learn what is necessary to be successful leaders at Texas State, on their team, in their communities, and beyond their years in San Marcos.
GOAL 4 FACILITY IMPROVEMENTS
Why it’s important: To be able to attract the best student-athletes across the state and country, ongoing facility improvements and enhancements will be key to our future success. Facility projects will continue to be important as we compete for championships, bowl games and NCAA tournaments in today’s ever-changing world of college athletics.
GOAL 5 ESTATE PLANNING/BEQUESTS Surpass $10M in estate gifts and bequests by 2021-22
Why it’s important: Develop a year-round program for potential estate planning prospects/ donors to assist them with their will/bequest while at the same time donating philanthropic dollars to help with the long-term sustainability of the athletics department’s needs.

RECOGNIZING OUR DONORS Texas State University is proud to have loyal and supportive donors, and many of them are members of one of the university’s lifetime giving societies. In addition to these societies, the Bobcat Club has additional methods for recognizing our most loyal and committed donors.
FOUNDERS SOCIETY $500,000
Much like the founders who helped establish this great university, the Founders Society stands as a group of Texas State supporters whose commitment to Texas State Athletics has been truly transformational. The most prestigious of the athletics giving societies, the Founders Society serves as an elite group of donors who support Texas State Athletics at the highest level. The Founders Society recognizes the philanthropic support of individuals and families who have given $500,000 over their lifetime to Texas State Athletics.
OLD MAIN SOCIETY $250,000 - $499,999
Just as Old Main has stood as a beacon for generations of Texas State alumni, members of the Old Main Society serve as shining examples of distinction, vision, passion and loyalty to Texas State Athletics. The donors who make up this prestigious society are truly pillars of our program, and their support has built a lasting foundation for the future success of Texas State Athletics. The Old Main Society recognizes the philanthropic support of individuals and families who have given between $250,000 and $499,999 over their lifetime to Texas State Athletics.
OAK AND CYPRESS SOCIETY $100,000 - $249,999
Much like these iconic trees — with their combination of time-tested strength and beauty — members of the Oak and Cypress Society have proven their steadfast commitment to excellence with their charitable contributions to Texas State Athletics. The donors of this society ensure success of our athletics programs now and for years to come, just as the trees that fill Texas State’s campus have watched over Bobcats for generations. The Oak and Cypress Society recognizes the philanthropic support of individuals and families who have given between $100,000 and $249,999 over their lifetime to Texas State Athletics.
VICTORY STAR SOCIETY $25,000 - $99,999
Since 1942, the Victory Star has shone bright over Texas State’s 495-acre campus. The Victory Star Society is the epitome of pride and pageantry, and the gifts members of this society have bestowed on our department are visible representations of their pride in Texas State Athletics. The Victory Star Society recognizes the philanthropic support of individuals and families who have given between $25,000 and $99,999 over their lifetime to Texas State Athletics.

THE GOLD STANDARD As we prepare for our “Golden Anniversary” in 2021, we remain committed to graduating studentathletes equipped to be leaders in the world. With your support, we hope to fully fund our studentathletes from the time they step on campus until they walk across the stage. This unique fund asks you to increase your annual gift by 10% annually over a five-year period to help cover the rising cost of attendance. These funds will go directly towards student-athlete scholarships and will pay for tuition, books, transportation and personal expenses. A five-year commitment will enable the Bobcat Club and Texas State Athletics to accurately budget for the future and develop champions on the field and in the classroom. Members of The Gold Standard will be a part of a team striving for success and will receive their standard Bobcat Club benefits as well as the following: • Pre-Game Field Passes for (2) Home Football Games For more information or to discuss a custom pledge structure, contact the Bobcat Club at 512.245.2117 or email bobcatclub@txstate.edu.
