— BOBCAT CLUB 2020 MEMBERSHIP GUIDE —

OUR MISSION: The Bobcat Club is the principal fundraising arm of the Texas State Intercollegiate Athletics Department. The Bobcat Club has provided a way for supporters to help talented Texas State student-athletes receive a top-tier education while pursuing their goals both on and off the field of competition. While the primary focus is providing scholarship support for student-athletes, the Bobcat Club is also focused on raising money for facilities upgrades and high impact projects that directly benefit our student-athletes. The Bobcat Club is an organization of alumni, fans, former student-athletes, coaches and friends joining together to provide current student-athletes with a first-class education and a chance to excel both in the classroom and on the playing field. With the rising cost of school tuition, private contributions and support from our members is absolutely critical to ensure the ongoing success of our student-athletes.

WHY BOBCAT CLUB? Whether in the weight room, science lab, or in charitable service, excellence is not just a goal for our student-athletes – it is our expectation every day. As you look through the pages of our brochure, you will see our Bobcat student-athletes have become the embodiment of Comprehensive Excellence. However, it takes a full team effort to keep our Bobcats competitive and excelling at the top level of collegiate athletics. Your dedication as fans and support of student-athletes’ scholarships create lifechanging opportunities. Without your vital support, many of our Bobcat teams would not have the resources necessary to cover their cost of attendance and pursue a top-tier education while realizing their dreams on and off the field. However, when every member of our team – athletes, coaches, students, alumni, parents, and fans – come together, no goal is out of reach. Thank you for helping our Bobcat athletes stay committed toward their goals in 2019 and giving them momentum to achieve more in 2020.

MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS Texas State Supporters, 2019 was an exciting year in San Marcos for our Bobcats! Our student-athletes continued to push themselves to achieve excellence in all they do. Through training, competition, and course work, our Bobcats rose to become leaders in the state of Texas and beyond. Our teams and individuals achieved many accomplishments this past year. Baseball, Volleyball, and Track & Field all won Sun Belt Championships in 2019, while Women’s Golf and Women’s Tennis were recognized for academic excellence for scoring in the top 10% in the recent Academic Progress Rates (APR). Along with all the team honors, we are proud of the many individual accomplishments. On the gridiron, Bryan London rewrote Texas State, Sun Belt Conference, and NCAA record books with his 459th career tackle. In the classroom, Heather Martin became the first Women’s Soccer player in program history to receive COSIDA First Team Academic All-American honors. These were just a few of the numerous honors our student-athletes have achieved this year, and they have all played a part in Texas State earning its first Sun Belt Conference Commissioners Cup. As an Athletic Director, there is no greater feeling than seeing our Bobcat student-athletes succeed in their relentless pursuit of excellence. All these accomplishments show you collectively have gone above and beyond in order to ensure that our student-athletes have every opportunity possible. Thank you for your passion, loyalty, and generosity to the Bobcat Club and Texas State Athletics. I speak for the entire athletic department and all our student-athletes when I say I am incredibly grateful for the impact you provide on our student-athletes, department, and teams. However, now is the time for Bobcat Athletics to stay committed and maintain this level of Comprehensive Excellence. Please continue to do your part in supporting our extraordinary student-athletes by joining the Bobcat Club and investing in the education of current and future generations of Texas State graduates.

Dr. Larry Teis Director of Athletics
