2015 Membership Guide

Texas State Bobcats, Our university’s and our athletic department’s growth is something we all can celebrate. Now the fourth-largest university in the state of Texas, Texas State has more students earning a degree from this institution than ever before. Similarly, in just our second year in the Sun Belt Conference, our athletics department is competing at a higher level than ever before and instilling new levels of pride in our fan base. Our coaches ask the most of our student-athletes. To achieve success on the field, hard work must be put in off the field. In much the same way, we need total investment from our fan base. If you are not involved, become involved. If you are involved, stay involved and, furthermore, increase your commitment to our athletics program. Donors and season ticket holders are essential to our department’s growth. Do your part and “Pave the Way” for future success at Texas State. As you will see in this brochure, we are asking every person who calls themselves a Bobcat to take one step forward. Join us in our journey, and help us in our pursuit of excellence. Eat ‘em up, Cats!

Our Mission The Bobcat Club is the principal fundraising arm of the Texas State Intercollegiate Athletics Department. The Bobcat Club provides a way for supporters to help talented Texas State student-athletes receive a top-tier education while pursuing their goals both on and off the field of competition. All donations to the Bobcat Club go directly toward the student-athlete scholarship fund. While its primary purpose is providing scholarship support for nearly 400 studentathletes, the Bobcat Club also focuses on raising money for facility upgrades through priority seating, donor events, the annual fund campaign, major gifts and high-impact projects that directly benefit our student-athletes.

Year One of the Pave the Way Campaign was a tremendous success. More donors backed our cause and more dollars were given to our scholarship fund than ever before in the history of the Bobcat Club. Now we’re asking “What would it look like if every Bobcat took one step forward?” As we enter Year Two of this historic campaign, we’re asking all Bobcats to take one step forward. Big vision. Big goals. Big support. How does Texas State get from where we are now to where we want to be? We’ve accomplished so much in such a short amount of time that it’s sometimes easy to feel like we’ve arrived. We haven’t. We have only just begun to move toward what we want to accomplish. It’s going to take your support for us to get there. Imagine if every student-athlete scholarship was privately funded. What would this department look like? What would it mean for our student-athletes to know that their fan base truly backed their athletic and academic pursuits? How would it affect our facilities, our recruiting, our game-day experience for our fans if everyone was focused on a common goal? How do we arrive at such a destination? By taking one step forward. As we “Pave the Way” for athletic and academic success for our student-athletes, ask yourself this question: What would it look like if I took one step forward in my investment in this program?

RENEW YOUR SUPPORT If you’ve given to the Bobcat Club, you know the benefits of joining, the perks you have received and the impact you’ve made on our student-athletes. Renew your pledge so we can maintain a robust donor base.

Our fan base is unsurpassed. Each year, we count not only on greater participation but also on greater investment. Now is the time to advance your investment and involvement in the Bobcat Club. It doesn’t matter where you fall on the spectrum. It takes only one step forward to make a huge impact.

LEVEL UP If you’ve given to the Bobcat Club at the same level for some time, take the next step by increasing to the next highest donor level. If you’re a Maroon Level donor, consider Bronze. Gold Level donor? Consider Diamond. You’ll receive improved benefits and make an even greater impact on our program.

MULTI-YEAR COMMITMENT Think about this. The student-athlete on whom you may make the biggest impact may not even be a student here yet. If you’re committed to the Bobcat Club for the long term, consider a multi-year agreement. Choose a giving plan that increases your pledge each year to make sure you are being intentional about increasing your investment or sign a multi-year agreement for the same amount each year to make an impact on current Bobcats and future Bobcats as well.

We can’t do this alone. We are grateful to our network of alumni and fan volunteers across Texas who lend support.

Consecutive Years of Giving – 1 point for each year

Donors will receive one point for each consecutive year of donating to the Bobcat Club annual fund. Next Level Challenge – 1 point for each level increase

Donors will receive one point per giving level that donor increases from the previous year (eg. In 2013 you gave to the Maroon Level but increased to the Bronze Level in 2014 = 1 point).
