WELCOME M I S S I O N S TAT E M E N T The Bobcat Club is the principal fundraising arm of the Texas State Intercollegiate Athletics Department. The Bobcat Club provides a way for supporters to help talented Texas State student-athletes receive a toptier education while pursuing their goals both on and off the field of competition. While the primary focus is providing scholarship support for student-athletes, the Bobcat Club is also focused on raising funding for facilities upgrades and high impact projects that directly benefit our student-athletes.

The Bobcat Club is an organization of alumni, fans, former studentathletes, coaches and friends who are passionate about helping our studentathletes excel both in the classroom and in competition. With the rising cost of college tuition, private contributions and support from our members are absolutely critical to ensure the ongoing success of our student-athletes.

LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS Texas State Supporters, What does it mean to be a Bobcat? What defines us? Some would say our grit. Others would say our passion. Still others would say our pride for all things Maroon & Gold. I would suggest adding another word to that list: Generosity. The Texas State Athletic Department has experienced unparalleled generosity from its supporters over the last decade. With gifts large and small, from established donors to Student Bobcat Club members, there has never been a more generous era in Texas State Athletics’ history. Within the Texas State Athletic Department, our singular goal is to mold young men and women – through training, competition and coursework – to become the next leaders in the state of Texas and beyond. Our coaches play a part in this goal. Our administrators play a part in this goal. And you play a part in this goal through your generous financial contribution to the Bobcat Club. As you turn the pages of this membership guide, I hope you will feel motivated to give back to Texas State University. The cost of education continues to rise, and, with it, so does the need for supporters like you to give back. Investing in a college degree is one of the surest investments you can make, and when you donate to the Bobcat Club, you are investing in the education of current student-athletes and the future generation of Texas State graduates. Join today.

Dr. Larry Teis

Director of Athletics, Texas State University

Through the selfless generosity of our Bobcat Club donors, we are able to provide young men with the structure and support they need to excel in the classroom and on the field. There is no greater feeling than stepping up on stage, whether to accept a diploma or accept a championship trophy. That vision cannot be made a reality without the support of our Bobcat community. Head Football Coach

COST OF EXPERIENCE In order to compete nationally and in the Sun Belt Conference, Texas State University must ensure the top in-state recruits are choosing to play for the Bobcats while also attracting the best recruits from across the country.

With scholarship costs rising nationally, it is imperative that the Bobcat Club increases both memberships and gifts to cover these costs. Every dollar raised counts toward making the studentathlete dream become a reality. The education and life lessons our student-athletes receive are priceless. Consider increasing your gift today!

IMPACT GIVING

345 COMMITTMENT

Success, over time, takes commitment.

If you have been giving to the Bobcat Club at the same level for some time, take the next step by increasing to the next highest donor level. If you’re a Maroon Level donor, consider Bronze. Gold Level donor? Consider Diamond. You’ll receive improved benefits and make an even greater impact on our program.

The student-athlete for whom your gift may have the biggest impact may not even be a student here yet. If you are committed to the ongoing mission of the Bobcat Club, consider a multi-year agreement. You can choose a giving plan that increases your pledge each year or sign a multi-year agreement for the same amount each year to make an impact on current and future Bobcats.

Leave a legacy with our program. Ensure that your passion for Texas State Athletics is remembered for years to come and for future generations of student-athletes. Consider starting an endowment in your family name, include Texas State Athletics in your planned giving, or donate to an upcoming construction project. This will ensure that Texas State studentathletes know the level of your commitment to their success and the success of this program.

A FEW WORDS F TYLER SIBLEY ’12

The opportunity to compete as a Texas State Bobcat student-athlete made an endless impact on my life as both a person and a business professional. The vast amount of knowledge, relationships, habits and skillsets developed while on campus in San Marcos continue to serve as the foundation for how I approach my daily challenges and pursuits. The Bobcat Club is the lifeblood of Texas State Athletics, and I am proud to have the opportunity to serve the next generation of Bobcat graduates by supporting the Bobcat Club.

COLBY TARGUN ’15 The Bobcat Club played an instrumental role in helping me to succeed while I was a student-athlete at Texas State University. The scholarship I received allowed me to pursue my passion to compete for both the football and baseball teams while earning an undergraduate degree in business. The life-lessons and relationships I built during these years have helped guide me as I start my career; now working for the National Football League in New York City. Thank you to all who willingly contribute as a member of the Bobcat Club.

DE’QUAD BINDER ’16 As a former Texas State Track and Field student-athlete and first generation college graduate I can attest to the true value of an athletic scholarship. I am confident that the lessons I have learned on the track and in the classroom, have provided me a solid foundation for a successful future. That is why I chose to give back, while as a student-athlete and now as an alumnus. As I begin my professional career, I look forward to being able to provide another young student-athlete the opportunity to learn and compete at Texas State University.

ABOUT US 512.245.2117

35

FREQUENTLY ASKED

QUESTIONS WHEN I DONATE TO THE BOBCAT CLUB, WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO? The primary purpose of the Bobcat Club is to offset the educational cost of student-athlete scholarships. The Athletics Department is responsible for the educational expenses (tuition, fees, room, board, books) and the newly budgeted “Cost of Attendance” of nearly 350 student-athletes who receive scholarships to attend Texas State University and represent the university in intercollegiate competition. In addition, Bobcat Club donations help ensure Texas State’s tradition of excellence continues to grow by investing in practice and game facility upgrades and academic resources for all of our student-athletes and athletics programs. HOW CAN I CONTRIBUTE TO THE BOBCAT CLUB? Making a donation to the Bobcat Club is easy. Contributions can be made by mailing in a Bobcat Club pledge form, donating online at txstatebobcatclub.com, or over the phone. If you would like to make a contribution over the phone,

36

please call (512) 245-2117 to speak with a Bobcat Club representative.

per seat donations may differ depending on your seat location.

If you have any other questions, please send an e-mail to the Bobcat Club at bobcatclub@txstate.edu.

DO DAN & CINDEE DIEPENHORST CHAMPIONS CLUB SEAT HOLDERS RECEIVE BOBCAT CLUB DONOR BENEFITS? Yes! As with all priority football season tickets, both Gold and Platinum Dan & Cindee Diepenhorst Champions Club seats require a per-seat donation (effective for all new threeyear club seat agreements). Gold Champions Club Level seats (outside the 35 yard lines) require a $250 per seat donation to the scholarship fund in addition to the $1500 ticket cost. Platinum Champions Club Level Seats (inside the 35 yard lines) require a $500 per seat donation to the scholarship fund in addition to the $1500 ticket cost. These per seat donations make club seat ticket holders eligible for Bobcat Club member benefits as would any other donation to the scholarship fund.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF BEING A BOBCAT CLUB MEMBER? The greatest benefit of Bobcat Club membership is knowing that your donation directly supports the academic, athletic and personal growth of nearly 350 Texas State student-athletes. Our donor levels and benefits chart indicates the other Bobcat Club benefits available to donors at each of our giving levels. DO I HAVE TO MAKE A DONATION EVERY YEAR? Yes. Your Bobcat Club membership is an annual membership that starts on February 1st of the year you join and continues until January 31st of the following year. If you made a donation to the Bobcat Club in order to secure season tickets you must maintain the required annual minimum per seat donation for that seat location. Minimum

WILL I BE ABLE TO RENEW THE SAME SEATS EACH YEAR? Yes. As long as you make the required minimum per seat

donation for your seat location and renew your tickets by the deadline, you will be able to retain the season tickets in that location. IS MY DONATION TAX DEDUCTIBLE? Yes. In most cases, the IRS has determined that donations made to the Bobcat Club are roughly 80 percent tax deductible because the donor receives some benefit in exchange for the donation. You may, however, request that you receive no benefit in exchange for your donation and therefore your donation would be 100 percent tax deductible. For more information, please view IRS Pub 526 2017. HOW DO I PAY MY INVOICE ONLINE? You can pay your donation invoice online by logging into your personal donor account. All of your donation information is housed under your Paciolan donor account. To login to your account, visit txstatebobcatclub.com and click “Login Join” on the far right of the navigation bar. If you are having an issue with your login please contact the Bobcat Club at 512-245-2117.

PAYMENT INFORMATION The Bobcat Club accepts cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. Payments can be made all at once or spread throughout the year via automatic checking account withdrawals or automatic credit card payments. Contact the Bobcat Club office to set up payments. If you make a pledge and choose to send payments on your own schedule, half of the payment must be received by August 1, 2017, for you to receive your Bobcat Club benefits.
