This may be the case elsewhere in the UK, but it seems that the election is not deterring buyers in this area. We have agreed sales on nearly 12% more properties so far this year, compared to the same period last year, with record sales in the last two weeks. House prices in the region have also risen, with Land Registry reporting an annual increase of 10.5% in Cambridgeshire. Market View More than 311,500 people bought their first home across the UK in 2014 This is the highest level of first time buyers since 2007, and an increase of 15% on last year. These deals represent 46% of all mortgages and nearly half of these could purchase a property without the help of the “Bank of Mum & Dad�.
