It was widely expected that there would be uncertainty in the housing market in the approach to the general election next month. This may be the case elsewhere in the UK, but it seems that the election is not deterring buyers in this area. We have agreed sales on nearly 12% more properties so far this year, compared to the same period last year, with record sales in the last two weeks. House prices in the region have also risen, with Land Registry reporting an annual increase of 10.5% in Cambridgeshire.

£12 billion to be added to the East of England economy by 2030 This will include £4.2 billion in transport investment and is intended to bring the long term growth of the region at least in line with the rest of the UK. 250,000 new jobs are to be created by 2020, with the Cambridge Science Park Technology Centre gaining funding, and a new station to be considered to the south of the City. These deals represent 46% of all mortgages and nearly half of these could purchase a property without the help of the “Bank of Mum & Dad�.
