Welcome to HouseHunter, our local property & lifestyle magazine... Welcome to the August edition of our HouseHunter magazine. As ever, you will find a selection of some of the properties available, both for sale and to let, across our network of local offices. The heat wave seems to be having a positive effect on the Cambridgeshire sales market, with 77 sales agreed in July across our 4 local offices, up approximately 17% on the same period last year. The City’s appeal, whilst already high, does seem to be growing at an enormous rate with lots of inward migration. Part of this does seem to be our Royal connection and in this regard we would like to offer our congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the arrival of His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge. So all in all, it is a great time to sell and if you are considering doing so then we will be happy to help with a free, no obligation market appraisal. Just contact your local office. However, just because the city as a whole is doing very well we should not forget that there are a lot of people in need of help and we have therefore chosen the Cambridge City Foodbank as our summer charity for this year. Staffed by volunteers, they provide 3 days worth of emergency food for adults and families in crisis and desperately need to raise some cash to cover their growing costs. We will be running a number of fund-raising events and see the back cover for details on how you can get involved in helping this very worthy local cause. John, Simon & Alex

Residential Sales

Our Ely Sales Office window displays TuckerGardner teams care. We listen to each client’s needs and focus solely on what’s best for you. We have a buddy system in place to make sure that there’s always someone in the office to help. We don’t trap sellers in a lengthy agency contract or pressure any of our team to meet internal sales targets, because we don’t actually have any. We treat each sale and person as unique to make it easier (even enjoyable) for you to sell or buy your home. Contact the teams on:

Hannah Khan Assistant Manager Great Shelford Lettings Office

I can’t believe in 2007 I walked into the Cambridge office to hand in my CV, not really knowing where it would lead me. Now nearly 6 years on I work as part of a close knit team and I have progressed from a Lettings Administrator to Assistant Manager of the Great Shelford Lettings Office, where my role includes dealing with everything from viewings and valuations to gas certificates and rent reviews. The diverse nature of our work means that we deal with a variety of situations, property and people so nothing really surprises me anymore! No two days are the same and I really look forward to seeing what each day will bring and feel I have found my ideal career! I was born and raised in the Cambridge area so having a good knowledge and love of the city definitely helps!

I have been working in Estate Agency in Cambridge for nearly 15 years. I started with TG in the administration office creating brochures, adverts, etc. and progressed up to Negotiator/Valuer. In 2009, after a few years with another local agent, I returned to TG to help build the New Homes Office, which I now head up.

pare time think there is nothing good company!

I have a wealth of experience and understanding of all aspects of the local market, knowledge that I’ve supplemented with a Certificate and Diploma in Management through the Open University. When I’m not working I’m a glutton for punishment, taking part in a variety of sporting events for charity, including the GRIM Challenge, Mud and Mayhem Duathlon at Thetford Forest, Deloitte Ride Across Britain (cycling 960 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groat in 9 days) and coming up in October, the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon. I live with my wife, daughter and our two dogs in Swaffham Prior.

For years I told people that I didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up, which continued well into my 30s. Then, by chance, I joined TuckerGardner as a Property Manager and found my place. That was in 2006 and it’s a great company to work for - so they’ll be wheeling me out in a box. Four years ago I changed roles and I am now the Valuer for the Cambridge Lettings office with shared responsibility for managing the Cambridge team of Property Managers. I was born and raised in Cambridge centre, educated locally and I know the area well, to say the least. I raised two children here and now live in Romsey with my husband and our new addition, a puppy called Laughing Gravy.

Residential Lettings

Cambridge Office reception All of our lettings teams work on the core principle of mutual respect and of trying to do our very best by landlords and tenants alike. The landlord is our client so we must endeavour to look after their interests, recognising that we are custodians of their property and of their money. By the same token, we also have a duty of care to our tenant customers and we must always remember, and respect, the fact that the property is their home for the duration of the tenancy. In each office you will find experienced, friendly individuals who will be happy to help. Contact the teams on:
