He has served the Lord for more than 30 years and has risen through the ranks, serving in all areas of ministry. Bishop Douglas is a faithful man, and a proven soldier and officer in the Lord’s army. He is anointed by God to preach and teach the Word of God, committed to announcing the good news of the Gospel with power and clarity to all people, and desires to see souls saved and nurtured in the Kingdom of God. He has a special burden for men and is dedicated to empowering them to rise up and be all that God has called them to be.
A
n accomplished musician, composer, choir director, and worship leader who, like the psalmist David, is anointed to usher in the presence of the Lord, Bishop Douglas has assisted numerous churches across the nation in gaining a fuller understanding of praise and worship and how to implement these Biblical principles into their worship experience. He is also a writer and director who has produced plays and musicals that have ministered to the church at large, and brought the pages of Scripture to life.
A
would serve as Pastors Emeritus.
I
n April 2010, meetings ensued to discuss plans for the engrafting; praying and deliberating the best way to merge Dabar Worship Center and Bethlehem Missionary Church. Both churches announced to their respective congregations, plans to merge the ministries, and talks continued over the summer to discuss the new organizational structure, ministries and departments, new by-laws, the yearly calendar of church events, and the engrafting service.
fter 25 years of putting music to scripture, he has finally completed his own project, Scriptures in Song, a collection of worship songs based upon messages preached over the last two decades. The newly released (December 2012) worship album features a wide array of anointed selections such as Captain of War, Walk on The Water, Who Jesus Is, and Grace Be Unto You.

ishop Douglas was ordained to the Presbytery in 1990 by the late Archbishop Wilbert S. McKinley. In 1998, he took a step of faith and started Dabar Worship Center in Brooklyn, New York. In October 2007, Bishop Donald Hilliard, II consecrated Bishop Douglas to the Episcopacy. He serves on the Episcopal Council of the Covenant Ecumenical Fellowship and Cathedral Assemblies (CEFCA) as General Treasurer. In January 2010, after 50 years of pastoring, Overseer Stanley M. Kidd and Pastor Lenore Kidd initiated a meeting with Bishop and Lady Douglas, to discuss the future of Bethlehem Missionary Church located in Queens Village, New York. After a series of meetings, and understanding this to be the mind of God, it was agreed that the two churches would be engrafted. It was decided that there would be one church in one location with one Senior Pastor, Bishop H. Curtis Douglas. Overseer and Pastor Kidd
n October 2, 2010, the engrafting service was held and Dabar Bethlehem Cathedral (DBC) was birthed. On Sunday, October 3rd, Bishop Douglas addressed the congregation for the first time as the new Pastor, thanking Overseer and Pastor Kidd and exhorting his congregation. His first sermon was ‘The Place God Has Prepared’ taken from Joshua 2. abar Bethlehem Cathedral’s mission statement proclaims that this local church body is “dedicated to developing balanced people of God, who will advance the kingdom of God; committed to touching
through The Heart of Compassion ministry. DBC supports several missionaries in Africa, Guyana, Jamaica, and the United States. Each year missionary teams travel throughout the world. For 2013, four trips were scheduled: Belize in June, Grenada in July, Jamaica in August, and throughout France in September. Our youth (A.R.M.Y.) and young adult (C.O.R.P.S.) ministries are a focal point of ministry at DBC. The youth are actively involved in choirs, dance, mime, step, drama and technical areas such as video and audio operations. DBC’s youth and young adults are vibrant with a genuine love for the Lord.
D
BC strives to minister to the “whole” man – body, soul and spirit – through the teaching and preaching of God’s word, nurturing and encouraging each other. The church seeks those who would know Jesus as Lord and Savior. All are welcome regardless of economic, educational or social status.
I
n June, 2013, Bishop announced to the congregation that DBC will be burning its mortgage in August 2013; six years ahead of schedule! The news spread quickly, and the air is charged with excitement and anticipation. We stand in awe of the goodness and faithfulness of God. A mortgage burning service celebrating this historic event will be held on Sunday, August 25th at 5:00 p.m.

GOSPEL NEWS AND ENTERTAINMENT
Queen of the Dancehall Lady Saw says she will be leaving the dancehall music industry as of August 31 to pursue gospel music. “The 31st of August I’m out,” revealed the artiste. “Me nah stay no longer,” (I am not staying any longer) she added.
S
aw cited spiritual experiences as the reason for her decision to leave dancehall for gospel. In addition to her break-up with Lloyd ‘John John’ James after a 17-year relationship, and the widespread dislike for her among females in the dancehall music industry, Saw says all have played a role in her decision.”It’s two things - been having some experience with God from August (last year), it get very intense very deep, and I experienced the Holy Ghost and then some females rise up against me,” she said. “God use the closest person to me to hurt me. an say ‘I going to see if you love that man more than I’,” she continued. Adding, “Then He send some friend ... who I thought were my friends , and God use them to hurt me and said “I am going to see if you are not coming to know me” .”I’m so tired of people accusing me of fighting against them, blocking them out, pushing them out. It’s okay, God wants me, so why not go? Maybe He is the one that’s doing it,” revealed the Queen of the Dancehall. Saw explained that many have tried to persuade her into joining the church, however, she did not trust their intentions. Nevertheless, she was persuaded after being reunited with a long-time friend who invited her to church. “She lead me into a simple church into the Rural part of St Ann , I love the church because it’s so little,” she recalled.
Saw said that she felt at home in the church because she was not treated differently because of her stardom. “A little boy in the church realized who I was and started running around and telling people” .”I do not like excitement, so that’s where I am going to be baptized, renew my vows with God,”
City Of Chicago Honors 10 Time Grammy Award Winner Chaka Khan
T
he City of Chicago honored tentime GRAMMY® Award winner Chaka Khan with a Street Naming of “Chaka Khan Way” on Saturday, July 27, and declared Sunday, July 28, 2013, “Chaka Khan Day” in Chicago, her hometown. The weekend-long celebration also included a free outdoor concert in Millennium Park. The music icon, who was honored for her stellar 40-year career in music and entertainment, participated in the ceremonial unveiling of Chaka Khan Way on S. Blackstone Avenue, between 50th and 51st Streets, with her family, including her mother Sandra Coleman, her sister, Tammy McCrary, and a host of other relatives in the Chicago area. Several city officials, business executives and community leaders were among the participants, including Fourth Ward Alderman William Burns, Reverend Jesse Jackson, Father Pfleger of St. Sabina Catholic School, State Sena-
tor Kwame Raoul, State Representatives Christian Mitchell and Barbara Flynn Currie, and Carl McKenzie, a cultural event producer and the president of Artworks Chicago. McKenzie organized the weekend-long celebration, which was co-sponsored by MINI USA. Chaka Khan Way is located on the west side of Kenwood Academy, where Chaka attended high school during its early days of operation. The students of Kenwood Academy also had the opportunity to participate in the event. “This is the biggest honor I have ever received in my life,” says Chaka. “The people of Chicago have always loved me and have supported me throughout my career—through thick and thin. To have a street named after you in the third largest city in the country is a big deal. To think that people will say ‘make a right or left turn on Chaka Khan Way’ is mind blowing. Long after I’m gone, and my children and grandchildren are gone, the street named Chaka Khan Way will still be here to carry on my legacy in the city where it all started for me. I never would have imagined that I would have been granted this honor. I thank all the city officials responsible for making this happening—and I especially thank Carl McKenzie, who vigorously campaigned and almost single-handedly made this event a reality. My family and I thank God for this blessing.” Nearly 20,000 people attended the free outdoor
concert at Chicago’s Millennium Park, where Chaka performed all her classic hits, including “I Feel For You,” “I’m a Woman,” “Whatcha Gonna Do For Me,” “You’ve Got The Love,” “Everlasting Love,” “Packed My Bags,” “Papillon,” “Tell Me Something Good,” a medley of “Stay,” “Sweet Thing,” and “My Funny Valentine,” “Through The Fire,” “Do You Love What You Feel,” “I’m Every Woman,” and an encore of “Ain’t Nobody.” The weekend-long activities also included a visit to Operation Push with Reverend Jesse Jackson and a private reception at the DuSable Museum. A devoted activist and philanthropist, Chaka met with Reverend Jackson to discuss the issues facing and affecting the black community of Chicago. Operation Push and Reverend Jackson also hosted Chaka Khan Foundation’s latest campaign initiative with the Chicago chapter of Dress for Success. Chaka was born in Chicago and grew up on Carpenter Street in Hyde Park, where her parents provided her with a very rich musical foundation by introducing her to a wide range of music, starting with jazz and opera. Chaka is currently working on a series of new albums, titled The iKhan Project. Chaka Khan Enterprises recently relaunched her website www. chakakhan.com and released a new Chaka Khan social media app: https://itun.es/us/9WSRL.i

A GLIPMSE AT SCIENCE TODAY by Jessica Hamzelou
Why Canceer Protects FromAlzheimers And Vice-Versa: The next generation may live to see 100, and with old age inevitably comes illness. While older people may be more prone to getting cancer or Alzheimer’s, it seems they are unlikely to succumb to both. Understanding this link could offer insights into treating both diseases. The association was first noticed in 2005 when researchers looked at how many people over 65 with cancer later developed Alzheimer’s, and vice versa. To further explore the link, Massimo Musicco at the Institute of Biomedical Technology in Milan, Italy, and his colleagues recorded cancer and Alzheimer’s diagnoses for over a million people by looking at registries of drug prescriptions and hospital admissions between 2004 and 2009. In each case of cancer or Alzheimer’s, they checked for the other disease before the person was treated, as well as in the years after. The group found that people with Alzheimer’s were half as likely to develop cancer as their age-matched peers. People with cancer, on the other hand, were 35 per cent less likely to get Alzheimer’s. “It’s a very convincing demonstration of the links between two pathologies that we often think of as separate,” says Richard Faragher of the British Society for Research on Ageing. “The question is: what is going on?” Although both diseases are linked to ageing, they work in very different ways. While cancer results from the uncontrolled growth
of cells, Alzheimer’s is related to the death of brain cells. “There may be some genetic factor that, if it’s tipped one way, it may cause abnormal cell growth, and tipped another way, it may cause abnormal cell death,” says Catherine Roe at Washington University in St Louis, who first reported the association. She suggests a tumour-suppressing gene called TP53 might play such a role. Its activity is elevated in people with Alzheimer’s disease, but inactivated in about 50 per cent of cancer tumours, she says. The link between the two may also be explained by the ageing of cells. As we get older, many of the body’s cells undergo senescence – a process that stops them dividing and triggers the release of inflammatory proteins. This is thought to protect us from cancer, the idea being that any ageing cells that have accumulated DNA damage are destroyed, perhaps by the immune response triggered by the proteins. But senescence may also be linked to neurodegenerative diseases. Last year, Claudio Torres at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia found huge numbers of cells that had stopped dividing in the brains of people who had died of Alzheimer’s. People may have cells that are more or less likely to senesce, protecting them from one disease, but putting them at risk of the other, says Faragher. We need to look for ways to selectively kill senescent cells or ameliorate their effect, he adds. “This opens entirely new routes for treatment for quite a lot of conditions.”

Artist Of The Month Judith Gayle G
od has sprinkled gems from His kingdom throughout the nations of the world, particularly in a small Island nestled in the Caribbean. Judith Gayle was born in Clarendon, Jamaica. Judith began her music career in the 1980’s singing with secular artist and as a cabaret singer in Jamaica’s most prestigious hotels. In 1999 her life changed as God captivated her heart at a local church in Clarendon where she was invited by a friend. Like any diamond in the rough, Judith’s early years as a young Christian brought seemingly unbearable serving of loss, heartache, despair, fear, pain, struggle and suffering. Having been stripped of everything and isolated in misery, she experienced brokenness in God who taught her to smile again Her message of righteousness, uncompromising purity, resilient hope and unrelenting faith in God is evident in the many songs that have saved souls, revived worshippers and encouraged many, not only in Jamaica, but internationally, in Canada, the U.S.A., England, the Caribbean and various other countries Judith has produced four anointed and versatile Gospel albums with each subsequent album being better with amazing songs, musical diversity and vocal dexterity.
T
hese divinely inspired albums: The Sun Shines Again and Broken to be Blessed, Designed to Worship, and her latest I Believe gives us those unforgettable songs: Anchor Holds, Jesus is Alive, Immanuel, Sun Will Shine Again, Upon this rock and Praise His name, Things Already Better, It’s Not I, Thank You Lord and The Blood as a testimony to a life completely and unashamedly dedicated to worshipping the ultimate lover, God. Now God has inspired her through her experience to pen and publish her first book “Preserving the Soul.” Through her experiences God has taught her the importance of a healthy soul. Preserving the Soul teaches you about the effects of sin on the soul and the plans of the enemy to destroy the soul. You will also discover how through the power of God you can restore a soul that has been tormented and bound by the enemy. The Bible says a man’s gift makes room for him and put him before kings. Judith
has been privileged to share stage with Pastor Donnie McClurkin, CeCe Winans, Rev. Jackie McCullough, Papa San, DJ Nicholas, Alvin Slaughter and many others. Judith Gayle has been traveling and ministering throughout the Caribbean, England, United States and Canada, where she is now a household name. In the early fall of 2004, Judith was invited to minister at Canada’s Premier Gospel Award Event, the Maja Awards. In 2009 Judith was awarded the Mega Gospel Awards as the best female vocalist of the year. You can never get tired of hearing this versatile psalmist and minister singPastor Donnie McClurkin has dubbed her the ”Jamaican Whitney Houston”. What motivates Judith the most is to see God’s people delivered from mediocrity and pretentiousness into a prosperous and balanced life in God. To hear Judith’s captivating vocals is to be convicted by a passionate heart which desires to see the people of God walk in liberty, truth and integrity.

GOD’S JUDGMENT HAS NOW COME UP ON AMERICA By Bishop M. M. Hendrikson - part ii The three sins before God that will destroy America ABORTION .....................IDOLATRY.....................HOMOSEXUALITY “ If a man lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination : they shall be put to death ; their blood shall be upon them .” Lev. 20:13
T
his was God’s punishment in the Old Testament for his people if they committed the sin of homosexuality. They were stoned to death by the people of their city. God knew that this horrible sin would destroy his people and also destroy a country, a country like America. This seems like harsh punishment but we see how God sees this sin of Gay lifestyle. It will destroy mankind and cause children total confusion about the purpose of life. I read in the newspaper about the big Gay Pride Parade in New York City. The big Homosexual Parade with a million people watching. Everything was done in a carnival spirit. Sad for God to watch. Sad for Christians to watch. Did you know that they changed our National Anthem? The normal way to sing it was “land of the free, home of the brave “. The Gay Homosexual way it was sung: “ Land Of The Free”, Home Of The Gay! “ Home of the Gay!! We Americans seem not to care what is happening in our beautiful country. How many brave soldiers died to keep this God given country free.
A
ll anybody has to do is to travel to many other countries in the world and see who is free, who is happy, and who is blessed by God. We watch baseball and drink beer until we cannot think straight and very soon God will take our country away. What did God do to Sodom? There is a word we use, Sodomy. Go to your dictionary or Google it, and see what the word means. We have fallen so far away from God. Our churches
are silent. We are flooded over with loud music! We are silent about sin. We are scared! We are scared of whom? Scared of what? American desire for unlimited evil does not stop. Almost every TV program, every day, all day, is full of violence and death, and now homosexuality. American desire for abortions never stops. American desire for idol worship grows and grows. I will bring all about American idolatry in part III of this series of articles. These are the three sins that will bring God’s Judgment upon America. As a false Christian nation, we are already starting to suffer more and more.
T
he mighty automobile city of Detroit, the home of Ford and General Motors factories, will soon close down. No more factories there. The factories have been moved to Mexico, because of bad political planning! There are now 78,000 empty homes. Everybody is leaving quickly as possible. Half the police force has left. The city has no money to pay them. Over half the street lights have been turned off! No money left! Crime is starting to get out of control! This same thing is happening in many American cities. Beautiful California has two cities that will soon close down like Detroit. California had laws against Gay marriage. Normal people did not want it. Our court system, which is on the side of Gay marriages, erased the wishes of the people of California. What does God think about us here in America? He is not happy. His Judgment has already start-
ed here. Abortion, Homosexuality, and Idolatry cause an end to a civilization. History shows us this over and over. America has a desire for these three sins. It cannot be satisfied. The big shock is that America considers itself a “Christian nation “. What has happened to us? Who is behind all of this? The famous theologian, Dietrich Bonheoffer, the number one deep thinking servant of God in our generation, had something most wonderful to say.
N
o one has yet believed in God and the Kingdom of God, no one has yet heard about the realm of the resurrected, and not been homesick from that hour, waiting and looking forward joyfully to being released from bodily existence....... death is hell and night and cold, if it is not, transformed by our faith. But that is what is so marvelous, “THAT WE CAN TRANSFORM DEATH” This was written by Rev. Dietrich Bonheoffer, November 1933. He was the only German pastor that stood up against Adolph Hitler. In the end, 1945, he was executed by Hitler by hanging by the neck until dead. Let us Christians become much more courageous as he was and stand up in America for what is right. No Christian justice, no peace!

B
efore Mary Mary, before Kirk Franklin, before Commissioned and Fred Hammond, there were Marvin, Carvin, Michael and Ronald Winans. By any account, the most important group of the last 30 years in pushing the crossover of Gospel into both Soul and Pop radio, the Winans are now considered to be Gospel royalty. But it wasn’t always like that. When the group first released their introducing the Winans album in 1981, many eyebrows were raised in the Gospel community about what was perceived as the secularization of Gospel music.
Y
ears earlier, when Gospel singers such as Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin moved to secular music, they found themselves in an uncomfortable balancing act as they transitioned the Gospel sound to earthly themes. But the Winans flipped it around: they were actually singing praise using a very nontraditional style of music. There was no wailing organ or backup choir, but instead there were pulsating R&B rhythms and vocals that sounded a lot like what the O’Jays or Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes may have been doing at the time.
H
owever, the message was pure Gospel, and rather than diluting the power of the message, the Winans were helping create a new genre to reach young listeners that is now called Contemporary Gospel, a musical style that has continued to grow and spread to this day with popular crossover artists such as Smokie Norful, Yolanda Adams and Tonex. Born and raised in Detroit in a large and musical family, the four Winans brothers were singing fixtures in the local community when they were introduced to Gospel legend Andre Crouch, who signed them to the Light Records
The Winans label and produced their debut album. Featuring the breathtaking, nearly-a cappella hit, “The Question Is” (which became the group’s signature song), the album shot to the upper end of the Gospel charts and even received some play on secular R&B radio. If, as Ray Charles said when he switched from Gospel singing to secular music, the difference between Gospel and Soul was that, in the latter, you just substituted a woman for God in the lyrics, and then the Winans proved the opposite true 25 years later. They were taking modern Soul music arrangements and putting God back into the lyrics. And with great harmonies, solid material and Marvin Winans’ ferocious lead vocals, the Winans were creating a sound that had even non-believers dancing and singing praise. Introducing the Winans was followed by “Long Time Coming”, an even more popular album. Their third album (and last for Light Records), “Tomorrow”, went to number 3 on the Gospel charts and the title track became one of the top Gospel songs of the year. The group left Light in 1985 to sign with Quincy Jones’ fledgling Qwest label, with the hopes of increasing their crossover audience. It worked, as “Let My People Go” hit the R&B charts and topped the Gospel charts, fueled by the great duet with Vanessa Bell Armstrong, “Choose Ye.” The Winans continued their rise in 1987 with Decisions, which featured their first duets with secular stars, singing “Ain’t No Need to Worry” with the newly hot Anita Baker (which became the group’s first crossover hit) and “Love Has No Color” with Michael McDonald. “Decisions” became their first album to also hit the pop charts. They hit their commercial peak three years later with “Return”, an excellent album that featured two Teddy Riley gems, “A Friend” and “It’s Time,” both of which became top 10 Soul hits. It was a great introduction of this group to the “new jack” generation. They followed it up in 1993 with “All Out”, a less successful album that included nice collaborations with R.
Kelly (“That Extra Mile”) and Kenny Loggins (“Love Will Never Die”), but was not as strong or focused as its predecessor. Outside activities of group members, including Marvin’s role as pastor of Detroit’s Perfecting Church made it increasingly difficult for the group to tour and record. They joined together again in 1995 for Heart and Soul, a conscious step back to more of a Gospel sound, before going their separate ways. It would be a mistake to look purely at their discography in measuring the importance of the Winans. In addition to helping open the door that stood between Gospel radio and Soul radio (which later artists such as Kirk Franklin would bust open), they also bridged the less talked about black/white gap between Gospel and Contemporary Christian Music genres, a bridge that sister CeCe would later walk over.
T
hrough their collaborations, they also provided an outlet for secular artists such as McDonald, Baker, Riley and Loggins to express their faith. Finally, on a more personal level, they created the foundation for what would become the undoubted #1 family of Gospel, with siblings BeBe and CeCe (together and separately), Angie & Debbie, and Daniel, as well as parents Mom & Pops Winans, kids Winans Phase 2 and wife Vicki all becoming significant Gospel artists. The Winans group came together with the entire Winans family in 2002 for a national tour of the U.S., treating fans to hours of hits and family Gospel and a chance to see perhaps the greatest Gospel/Soul group together one last time. Sadly, brother Ronald died in 2005 after a long battle with a heart ailment.
T
he remaining members reunited briefly for the Gospel concert at Super Bowl 40 in Detroit, but generally have worked separately in their continued ministry and music. And they continue to cast a long and glorious shadow over the world of Gospel more than three decades after their arrival.

e are studying the armor of God as found in Ephesians 6:10-18. The key is the armor we are required to wear to defend ourselves. From whom or from what? Verse 12 tells us that we wrestle against principalities and powers. These are the demonic ruled by Satan himself. Hence the Bible tells us that we are in warfare. Then it tells us how to defend ourselves against the enemy. But before a warrior engages in warfare, he or she MUST find out who he or she is fighting against! Armies have their intelligence people. So should we. We have been looking at the enemy over the past few weeks. I hope you are reading and re-reading these studies. Sometimes you miss something and need to go back. Sometimes you only need some added strength. This goes for all studies we have done and sermons preached.
H
aving looked at some of the traits and characteristics of The Enemy, Satan, we started to look at home, some of them translates into his weakness. We had the interaction of those present. The following are some of the responses. First he is a liar. As a liar he cannot tell the truth. That means when confronting him (or been confronted), believe not any promise. Do not at any time give a second thought to his words. That was Eve’s mistake. She believed a lie. Remember he embellishes his lies so that they are more believable. It is like packaging a stone you found by the riverside and selling it at a huge profit. When you open the package it is only a stone. John 8:44 describes this liar most vividly.
13
significant description of Satan is that he is the great Accuser! The description of his actions is vividly written in the book of Job. We have not yet studied Job, but let us pre-empt that study for our benefit. How is that characteristic a weakness for the enemy? First we know that he is making every effort to accuse us of things we did and things we did not do. To know that he is a liar here is of great help. You see what he says of you might be false. It is not true. He is a genius in mixing the truth with a lie and turning the whole thing into a lie! Jesus says he is the father of lies. What should you then do when accused by the accuser? Preparation. Since you know that you will be accused, you should always seek forgiveness and cleansing from the Lord (James 4:2. When that happens, the enemy dares not bring a charge against you. Why? Because God has totally forgiven you and the slate is wiped clean (Psalm 103:12). The accuser becomes a puff of air.
T
he next thing we uncover is that the devil is the tempter. As we saw in Genesis 3, he entices you to yield to the temptation and disobey God. The strategy has not changed. He relies on your attraction to the “fruit” to lead you into temptation that is to take a bite. How does this prepare you to fight? First, it tells you to avoid the environment where you would be enticed. Do not even look at it (like Eve did). For example if you think you might bump into someone who attracts something in you, good or bad, then do not walk that way! Do not open their text message. Do not answer their phone call and do not call them or text them! You are avoiding the environment of enticement. Hence you will examine yourself (2Corinthians 3:5) and t says in the NIV When he lies, he speaks his native language, for know what your weaknesses are. Once you know your weakness you he is a liar and the father of lies. Already you are armed for battle will put it in the hand of the Lord as you fight against the devil. because you know that there is no truth in this liar. The Word of God is truth. He cannot stand up to the truth. It is this you would use to Please meditate on these words. One thing to keep in mind, Satan and condemn his likes. Saying out loud, as many people do, “The Devil is a his demons work through other people! We will talk more about this liar!” does nothing but states that fact. It does not help you defeat him! at some point. Sorry. What makes you defeat him is to declare the truth which is the May the Lord God our Savior through Jesus the Christ, bless you in Word of God and Jesus himself who is the Truth (John 14:6). What every way and prosper you. is sure is that he CANNOT stand up to the Truth! One of the most

Global Affairs & Christianity American Arrested in London for Calling Homosexuality a Sin by Todd Starnes
An American evangelist said he was arrested and interrogated about his Christian faith after he was caught on a London sidewalk preaching that homosexuality is a sin. Tony Miano, a retired deputy sheriff and former chaplain with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, was charged with “using homophobic speech that could cause people anxiety, distress, alarm or insult.” Miano had been preaching on a
London street corner during the Wimbledon Tennis Championships with a ministry group called Sports Fan Outreach International. He was preaching about immoral living, and cited homosexuality as an example of lifestyle choices that are contrary to biblical teaching. “I never used any gay slurs,” he said. “You would never hear me using slang or discriminatory language against homosexuals or any other group. That would be contrary to my faith.” At one point, the evangelist quoted 1 Thessalonians 4:1-2 -- a passage of scripture that mentions sexual immorality. “I talked about women addicted to
romance novels, men addicted to pornography, people with lustful thoughts, heterosexual fornication and homosexuality,” Miano said. “When I mentioned that the Bible was clear that homosexuality is a sin, a lady walked by and she glared at me and hurled the F-bomb.” He said the woman came back a short time later and began to videotape his sidewalk sermon. Then she called the police. “They were concerned about homophobic speech,” he said. “But I told them I don’t fear homosexuals. The language I used was not homophobic, as I was not promoting fear or hatred of homosexuals.

THE POWER OF “I AM” By Mazie Vassell
Jesus
was with his disciples for three years. The time of his death was near and he wanted to make sure they knew who he was. So, according to Matthew 16:1320, Jesus went with them to the Coasts of Caesarea Philippi. There, he asked them two questions. The first, being a preliminary or warm up question as Jesus already knew what people thought of him. So he asked them, “Whom do men say that the Son of Man am?” They answered, “Some say that thou art John the Baptist”, (as was said by Herod); “Some, Elias” (a popular believe that Elias (Elijah) would return), “And others Jeremias, (Jeremiah a great prophet).
unto him, “Blessed art thou Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.” He continued Upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Jesus said to Moses in Exodus 3:14, “I am that I am”.

Honor & Glory (The Real Thing) By Carol Ann Ossenfort When I heard from the Lord during prayer to give Him
“praise, honor and glory,” and that He would then bless me beyond all imagining, I began often to say, “I give you the praise, honor and glory, Lord.” Now, about two years after hearing this, I finally realize that to do this takes much more than my words, heartfelt though they are. Certainly, my mouth shall bring forth praises to God to honor Him, and I will feel that praise in my heart. But to truly honor Him and give Him the glory takes much more on my part. It requires deeds of love, kindness and sacrifice for others. Only as I become Christ’s hands and feet, selflessly giving and looking for nothing in return from those I wish to bless, am I honestly honoring and glorifying God.
Words alone are meaningless…thoughts and good intentions are likewise meaningless. Only my willingness to move and do for those who can’t do for themselves has real value.Christ called the Pharisees and scribes hypocrites. He heard them repeatedly speak of obeying God through the “Law,” but He saw that their hearts were not right. Matthew 15:6-9 says: “So, for the sake of your tradition, you make void the Word of God. You hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied rightly about you when he said: ‘This people honors me with their lips but their hearts are far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching human precepts as doctrines.’” We must be careful—we who call ourselves followers of Christ—to be certain that our words of praise are not void in God’s ears. We are surely to sing His praises with our lips, yes: “Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praise,
For God is the King of all the earth; sing praises with a psalm.” But if that’s all we do, spending our time locked away from a world of hurting and needy, lonely people, what are we accomplishing, Our own edification? See how holy I am, Lord? See how I love you and tell you? Jesus said to Peter, His disciple, “If you love me, feed my lambs…tend my sheep… feed my sheep” (John 21:16,17).“If you love me.” Those words of the Bible – His Words – are just as relevant and valid to us today and to all generations to the end of time as they were from the very beginning. It is impossible to love Jesus – to love God – and to give them honor without loving others…particularly our brothers and sisters of the flock – His sheep. I must, every day, pray for and show mercy, kindness and care, not just when it’s convenient for me but wherever I see a need to be filled. And I must be willing to do good and pray for even those who may have hurt me in some way….especially to those who have hurt me. Jesus knows our hearts, but He desires that our hearts will move our hands and feet in the service of others, as His did, and in His holy name. Then He will know, see and hear our claims of praise, honor and glory to Him, our Lord and Savior. Forgive us, Lord Jesus, for often only “praying” empty words to you, and let us be guided by your Holy Spirit to also work to serve where we are and wherever else you may send us. Amen. Hebrews 13:15 “Through Him, then, let us continually offer a sacrifice of praise to God; that is, the fruit of lips that confess His name. Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”

Remove The Source and The Body Can Heal
In this first article, we would like to introduce you to what I believe is the most critical R; R1, Removing the Source. If you don’t remove the source, you will never have a true and lasting solution to your health challenge. I have a problem with not only allopathic practitioners, but also the natural or alternative practitioners when it comes to this topic. Neither is getting to the cause because they are simply covering up symptoms with either more medications or supplements. Neither are sitting knee to knee with people and really digging into an individual’s history in order to figure out why they got sick. My fellow chiropractor’s philosophy is to remove the interference and allow the body’s innate intelligence to do the healing. This philosophy is where the truth lies. However, chemical interference, or for you chiropractors, chemical subluxation, is what most doctors are missing and don’t fully understand. I believe, as chiropractors, that this is why we are not seeing the results that we used to see years ago. I know you understand what I am saying. When we talk to the old time chiropractors, they will tell how many more miracle cases they had. Well what’s changed? The

subluxation? Chiropractic? NO, chemical subluxation is what has changed. The level of toxicity is like no time in the history of mankind. Not the outside air, but what we are putting directly into our bodies. If you do not know how to remove the source properly, you are never going to impact these really sick and challenged ndividuals. A Demonic Source of Toxins that Took My Life: Mercury “The God of Deception” What does removing the source actually mean? There are a few meanings that I will cover throughout R1’s description. In my own story, I had silver fillings and had two drilled out incorrectly. After they were removed and gold was put in its place, I became very sick. Unfortunately, it took me three or four years of misery to figure it out. Those fillings contain 50% mercury, which leeches right into your brain, more specifically the hypothalamus pituitary adrenal axis. The gold caused a galvanic reaction (electrical current) that causes the mercury to leech out of the fillings 10x faster than normal. It wasn’t until I researched how to get the rest of the filling out correctly and the mercury out of my brain that I was able to get my life back. It is very important to realize that I would have never recovered
i
fully if I didn’t get the source removed correctly. Whatever you do, don’t just start drilling out fillings. There is a safe and proper way to do it. An Ancient Source of Illness: MOLD Another source could be a moldy home. So many of the individuals with unexplainable symptoms are living in a moldy home. They get very sick and unfortunately end up on a list of medications, which ultimately makes them worse. Many conditions like fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, sudden weight gain and weight loss resistance are all common conditions linked to biotoxic illness from mold. If you don’t get that individual out of the home, you’re never going to get them well. In Leviticus 14 in the Bible, God says, and I will paraphrase… If you see mold growing in your home do this… If the mold reappears get rid of the house and all its contents. This is exactly what is done today If you can’t remediate the house properly, then get out and don’t bring your stuff with you because it too is contaminated. This may sound like drastic measures but this is the only way these individuals recover. If you don’t remove the source, you are never going to get well.
TOTAL HEALTH PRINCIPLES:OUR HEALTH MATTERS TO GOD - Part 3 Rev. Mengue M. Eka Abila I thank God for the opportunity to write the third article on third article this theme. I hope somebody is reading, and this is blessing to somebody. Child of God, following my previous two articles in this series, I hope you realize that every dimension, every aspect of your life and wellbeing matters to God. However, the following statistics as reported by Partnership for a Healthier New York City should be of serious concern to all of us: Adult Obesity Prevalence by Race/Ethnicity New York City 2010 Who is impacted the most? • Black and Hispanic New York City adults have approximately twice the prevalence of obesity as whites and nearly four times the rate as Asians.3 The obesity rate among children in New York is more than one in five (20.7%) and slowly on the decline. Obesity remains the highest among minority children: 25.6% of Hispanic school children and 20.9% of Black children are obese while the prevalence of obesity in white children is 15.4%.11 Thank God for all the ongoing NYC government and community initiatives are beginning to show encouraging results. It is my hope that these articles (my two cents) would encourage or inspire somebody within the Church community in the right direction. Therefore, forgive me if I keep quoting the same Holy Scriptures over and over. As believers, we cannot depart from this foundational all encompassing health Scripture: Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:4-5 (KJV). The fact that the Bible itemizes the specific burdens that Christ, the Messiah, has borne for us is very telling: • Taking on Himself our griefs and our sorrows points to the Divine Provision He made for our Emotional Health;
•
[are] of your sort? then shall ye make [me] endanger my head to the king. Then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink. Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king’s meat: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants. So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days. And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king’s meat. Thus Melzar took away the portion of their meat, and the wine that they should drink; and gave them pulse. (King James Version – www.blueletterbible.org)
He endured in His body the punishment (dehumanizing torture & death) that gives us Peace in exchange for the Guilt we normally feel [as believers or as his children] when we do the wrong thing, and the resulting reconciliation with, instead of separation from, the Holy God. His Blood was shed to cleanse our soul and revive our spirit; His stripes heal us from every disease.
Most readers may know this already. Nevertheless, as the facts seem to indicate, there is a possibility that we may have forgotten this foundational spiritual fact. I just want you to know that this Scripture covers both our healing when we get sick (cure); and our staying healthy after we recover from any condition or addiction (prevention). In my previous article, I mentioned the need for the Church to model healthy living, diet, life style, and all, in the face of the harsh consequences of the extremely high calories and high sodium foods, and sugary beverages consumed in churches all over the nation in general (ref. http://www.abcardio.org/), New York City and Brooklyn in particular, such as the commonality of obesity and chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, kidney disease, HIV/ AIDS, among other. The Church has a Bible-based model of healthy diet through Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah (Daniel 1:5-16). And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king’s meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king. Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel [the name] of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego. But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs. And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which

Restoring The Jewish Roots Of Our Christian Faith - (Part IV)
Torah Is For Christian Believer By Pastor Ken Rabinowitz
M
essiah Yeshua wants to restore to His Bride something that was lost the Torah. Yeshua said to keep the Torah (Mat. 5:17-20; John 14:15-21). Yeshua said He would send His Comforter to help us, in love, obey His Commandments. We have wandered away from Torah through persecution and willful disobedience. Matthew 24:9-12. The Torah has always belonged to His children; it has never been nailed to the cross.
B
y living the Christian life, we are keeping most of the Torah. The commands to love your neighbor as yourself, care for the orphans and widows, look after the poor, and extend a helping hand to a brother or sister are part of the Torah. Faith, grace, repentance, confession, prayer and baptism are also found in Torah.
Most of the things that define the Christian life are Torah based, and Christians don’t know it because the church has done away with the Jewishness of Yeshua. Messiah paid the price for our sins yet the moral and civil laws were not affected. Yeshua taught that the Commandments are fulfilled in these two commands: To love the Lord your God with all your heart, your soul, and your strength; to love your neighbor as yourself. This was NOT a New Testament teaching. This was a restatement of Deuteronomy 6: 4-6. It is Torah. Torah is about His love; a guide on how to live our lives as believers daily. It is relational.
O
ur love for God is demonstrated by obedience to His commands. 1 John 5:3 says, the love of God is to keep His Commandments. One thing we lost was the Biblical Sabbath. Yeshua worshipped in the synagogue on the Sabbath. He kept the Sabbath holy because His Father said to. When Shaul (Paul) taught it was on the Sabbath. Yeshua did miracles on the
Sabbath (recorded 7 times), because it is OK to do good on the Sabbath. The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. Yeshua is our Sabbath rest; that does not mean that the Sabbath was nailed to the cross. The book of Colossians was written to Gentile believers, not Jewish believers. They worshiped in synagogues and Torah was taught; they were observing the Sabbaths, festivals and dietary laws. This was natural for them as believers.
T
he New Testament books did not exist as yet. The new Gentile believers were being judged by other non-believing Gentiles for being Jewish. Many believers use Galatians 5:18 to teach that now that we have been baptized by the Holy Spirit, the Torah of Moses is no longer needed. John 14 & Ezekiel 36:26,27 completely disproves this as an interpretation. Now we have the inner resource to enable us to obey His commands by the Holy Spirit. The Spirit and the Torah work hand in hand.
Hearing God By Rev. Trudy Daley
Does God still speak today? Yes!!! Do you really want to hear God? Ifyou hear God, what will you do with what you hear? How do we hear God? God speaks audibly - Adam, Moses, and Samuel; God speaks through powerful acts – Elijah and the prophets of Baal, miracles, healing, parting the Red Sea; God speaks through dreams and visions – Joseph, Peter, and John on the Isle of Patmos; God speaks through His Word – Logos: Word illuminated with understanding, Rhema: the Holy Spirit quickens the Word to us and our current circumstances. Intervals of Revelation Eternal revelation- Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of the world. Lifetime revelation- God shows a person what He intends for his or her life. Seasonal revelation- God speaks to us regarding the span of time that we are about to enter – maybe days, weeks, months, years or even decades. Daily revelation – God provided daily manna for His people in the wilderness. God speaks to us regarding all of the areas affecting our lives: decisions we have to make, where to live, jobs, finances. Concealed revelation – We must search it out to uncover
and discover it. We are told to seek and we will find. God regards those who diligently seek Him. God does not give us complete revelation but often only partial revelation and perhaps another part to someone else. God will confirm the things He speaks to us several times through different sources: circumstances, other people, prophecies, TV, radio, books, and sermons. We need to be alert and connect the dots;write down what we hear and keep for future reference. There are four voices that speak to us: God, ourselves, others, and Satan. How do we know that we are hearing God?When we have peace and not fear. When we are led toward God and not away from Him. When we have a relationship with Him and not just have religion. When there are fruits of the Spirit in our lives, and we do not live according to the flesh. Discernment Checklist Here are ways that you can check to see if something is of God or not. Does it contradict Scripture? Does it give you peace? Can you share it with anyone? Does it confirm what God has been speaking to you? Does it fit with God’s character? God speaks to us through our thoughts. He puts thoughts in our minds. They are random and repetitive. They will reflect God’s character and not evil. If it is a good thought and you don’t want to do it, it is probably God. We are to test our thoughts. Do they work out or not? Never make any major changes based on what comes only through a
God thought that has not been tested and confirmed. The Holy Spirit resides in us and will guide us. God’s Spirit speaks to our spirit and tells us the truth, warns us and comforts us, and inspires us. We have two brains. The one in our head gives us information. Our second brain is in our midsection and allows us to feel or sense good and evil. The Holy Spirit helps us sense a yes or no, stop or go, truth or a lie, peace or fear. Do not use what you sense in your spirit to accuse anyon; it could be your flesh. Dreams and Visions God uses these to help us. 95% of our dreams are about us and are symbolic. Not all dreams are God-given. The more you pay attention to dreams, the more God-given dreams you will have. You don’t need someone with a “gift of dreams interpretation” to understand your dreams. Dreams generally deal with the present or our future. Your dreams can be spiritual, teaching, creative, or warning.Ask God to give you dreams, and when you have one then write it down and ask God to help you interpret it. Visions are pictures given to us when we are half awake or fully awake. It may be like a still picture or a motion picture that you are watching. It can be from the past or present or future to show you something that can help you or warn you. God is always speaking and we need to tune in and look around to hear and see what He is saying to us. Concepts taken from: “Anointed Detectives” by Rev. Hector Santos

hillipians 2.4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. 1 John 3.17 But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him? The Church teaches that spiritual life and marriage work together hand in hand. To the degree that if a couple uses the basic principles of genuine Christianity in their marriage they will be blessed in their marital relationship. The Lord has taught us so much about forgiveness, going the extra mile, and faithfully fulfilling our duties and our promises. When we apply these same teachings to marriage we set a course toward happier lives. There is no better opportunity to become a spiritual person than in learning to live, work, and play together with a life-

partner. It is often said that charity begins in the home, and when we learn the art of love with our spouse, we are in turn blessed with a rich and meaningful companionship. The Lord has said, “Give and it will be given unto you.” This is true in marriage as in any other relationship. Marriages have their challenges. If a couple believes they will get by on love alone, they may be in for some rough realizations. Love needs to be clothed in truth. The teachings of the Lord’s Word are that clothing. It gives a person structure for that love, and like clothing, they protect the love from harm. For instance, many marriages are challenged by times of temptation. Whether these temptations entail sexual allurement, power struggles, or conflict of values, shunning selfishness and wandering lusts. People make mistakes, and everyone has their ups and downs in marriage, but when religion and marriage walk hand in hand, the means for continued development remain at hand. Jesus said, “The kingdom of God is within

By Betty Ann Berazzah you.” We create our own state of heaven or hell right now, while we are on earth, and this state follows us after death and comes into its fullness. That is why married couples who use the tools for spiritual growth given to us in the Bible create within themselves and within their relationship a heavenly state and way of life, and this heavenly marriage continues on into the life after death. 1 Corinthians 10.24 Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor. 2 Timothy 3:2-4 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, Philippians 2:3-4 Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
SPIRITUAL WARFARE
Overcoming Household Wickedness - Part II: Pastor Femi Akojenu Another strategy h o u s e h o l d wickedness uses is to work hand in hand with familiar spirits. Familiar spirits are demonic spirits responsible for transferring curses from one generation to the other. They are demonic spirits that psychics, sorcerers, witches, warlock, Babalawos, voodoo priests, obeah priests and Santeria priests consult to get information about their clients. There are two sources of power: God and Satan. Familiar spirits are satanic spirits. Don’t be deceived, God didn’t give any of the groups mentioned above their power. They all got their power from Satan. Some of them have had their demonic abilities since childhood because their parent, grand parent or an ancestor transferred the demonic power to them. Many people, including church people, are ignorant of this truth. Their ignorance has led them into a lot of trouble. Let me give you a scenario: Mr. A has a spiritual problem. He visits a psychic or any of the satanic priests mentioned above. They tell him his life history and the reason
for his problem. They ask him to bring some money and they do some rituals for him so that his problems can be solved. Most people in this kind of scenario are ignorant of spiritual warfare. Most people are easily deceived by the psychic’s ability to reveal the things only Mr. A knows about. They are impressed and they think this man must be gifted by God. The truth is that the psychic uses various medium in communicating with familiar (demonic) spirit to get information about Mr. A. The problem with visiting such demonic places is that when you do, you automatically open the door of your life to Satan. At that point, demonic spirits are given legal right to come into your life. The psychic, Babalawo, voodoo priest, obeah priest and Santeria priest don’t solve problems. What they do is move your problem from one area of your life to another. So if the problem is with your health, they will move it from your health to your finances. As far as you know, the health problem is solved. But a few weeks later, you will visit the priest again for your financial problem. So it goes on and on like that and you keep giving them your money. Another thing you need to be careful of is when psychics, Babalawos, Voodoo priests, Obeah priests and Santeria priests pretend to be Christian Ministers. They advertised themselves as Reverends or ordained ministers. Some even have a church. They combine their rituals with the Bible. They mention Jesus in their
prayer. Some wear white garments. Some burn candles and incenses to do their rituals. They sell their demonic oils and soap. They offer to bath you to remove your problems. To make it deceiving, they ask you to read the book of psalms in addition to the rituals they do. Since they read the bible, most people are easily deceived. Some of them are on radio and TV. The only solution to your problems is Jesus Christ. If they have given you something to wear for protection, please throw them away. Anything you depend on for protection other than the name of Jesus is purely satanic and it will continue to bring bad luck into your life. Besides, as long as you keep the things they gave you in your possession, demonic spirits have a legal right to come in to your life and home. Haven’t you been deceived enough? Haven’t you suffered enough? Haven’t they taken enough of your money? There is only one way out of your problem: Jesus Christ. Come to The LifeZone Church and we will pray for you free of charge. Preparing for the Promise
Love Drives Out Fear
“LORD, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will prepare their heart; You will cause Your ear to hear.” (Psalm 10:17, NKJV)
“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear...” (1 John 4:18, NIV)
TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
Scripture tells us that God is love. He is perfect, and His love is perfect. There is nothing you can do to make God love you more and nothing you can do to make Him love you any less. His love toward you is steadfast; it’s unchanging. His arms are always stretched out toward you, and He is always ready for you to come to Him. Sometimes people aren’t sure how God feels about them. They think He might be mad at them, but scripture tells us just the opposite. God’s not mad at you; He’s madly in love with you! It doesn’t matter what you’ve done or where you’ve come from, God’s arms are open to you. He’s longing to show you His goodness and grace. It’s His kindness that leads us to repent and change our ways. Open your heart to Him today and receive His perfect love. Let it drive fear out of your life and make you new. Let His love wash over you and build confidence in you. Because of His great love, we can boldly come to Him and receive the mercy and blessings He has in store.
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
In the scripture, it says that God didn’t lead the Israelites by the shortest route to the Promised Land; He took them the long way on purpose because they were not prepared for war. God knew that if He would have taken them into the land too quickly, they would have been easily defeated. Their enemies were much bigger and much more experienced. I’m sure they prayed many times, “God, we’re uncomfortable out here in the desert. We’re hot. We’re tired. Where’s our Promised Land?” But God didn’t answer that prayer, not because He was trying to make their lives miserable, but because He knew what was up in front of them. He had to prepare them to step into the fullness of their destiny. In the same way, God has already laid out the plan for your life. He knows exactly what you need and when you need it. If you are in a difficult situation that’s taking longer than you had hoped, know that God is preparing you. He is strengthening you. Stay in faith and keep praising Him as you move forward into the Promised Land He has for you! A PRAYER FOR TODAY Father, thank You for leading and guiding me. Thank You for Your hand of blessing upon my life. I choose to trust You even in the difficult times knowing that You are preparing me for the promises in my future in Jesus’ name. Amen.
TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
A PRAYER FOR TODAY Father, thank You for loving me perfectly. I want to know You more, and I want to know Your love. I receive it by faith today and ask that You show me Your ways and fill me with Your peace as I keep my heart and mind stayed on You in Jesus’ name. Amen. — Joel & Victoria Osteen

EDUCATIONAL ARTICLE Remember, Long Life Learning!
Spring has sprung and summer is quickly approaching. Families are beginning to prepare for summer fun if plans are not already in place . Vacations to theme parks or visits to grandma’s are possible destinations. Students would probably agree that the best part of summer is that school is out and they are free of teachers and the ever dreadful HOMEWORK! Even though the break is well deserved, teachers and parents alike are concerned that students lose knowledge and skills over the summer when not engaged with enriching activities. Research has been conducted that show students unengaged during the summer result in skills lost. The loss is even greater among students whose families are of low economic status. But there are many ways parents can help bridge that achievement gap during summer months. The best part is they won’t interfere with summer plans. Traveling by car, railway, or plane can be loads of fun and learning for first time or frequent travelers. To avoid any restlessness, one activity is to have your child research the type of vehicle you will be traveling aboard. Request details like the amount of fuel it holds. Then, research the mileage to and from your destination and have your child calculate how much fuel you will use for your trip. Discuss the cost of different types of fuels and how much it would cost to travel. Based on their calculations, have them estimate where they think you will need to refuel. Include in your discussions other factors that will affect their estimates like speed. Engage in discussions like these and avoid the repeated “are we there yet”.
Even if you are not traveling, there is a wealth of enrichment right in your community. One underused service within reach is the library. The local library offers children an opportunity to open the doors to their imagination through literature. Sure, technology puts books in our hands almost immediately, but the experience of browsing books in the library is one every child should have. Under one roof is every genre imaginable. And it’s FREE! Make the library a consistent place during the summer. Check out their hours and even what programs they offer. Outside organizations like the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Incorporated, an educational sorority committed to encourage the development of the potential of our youth, connect with the library to offer tutoring services in subjects including mathematics and science. Take advantage of the library’s free services (and the air conditioning) this summer. Read, read, read. Challenge your child to read. Let them read what they are interested in. Give them access to newspapers and magazines. Let them read food labels while grocery shopping or the directions to a recipe. Let them read signs posted along your route to the library. Read to them or let them read to you. But do not forget to engage them in conversations about what they are reading. Make sure they comprehend what they have read by asking who, what, when, why, where and how. To go a step further, ask them to write a response to their reading. Or have then write their own book. Don’t forget to have them autograph their books. It may end up on the “Best Sellers” list. Are you trying a new recipe or starting a home project this summer? Get your child involved with it. Give them the role of rechecking your measurements. Whether its a teaspoon of baking powder or the area of the bathroom floor, keep your child engage in these types mathematical activities. Ask your child’s teacher, school guidance counselor or school administrator for other ideas to keep your child engaged during the summer. Remember, life long learning should not take pause during the summer. Tiffany Ladson-Lang has been an elementary educator for 18 years.

The Wealth Factor Is The Key To Success By Rev. Linius J. Baptiste
Each of us through
God’s seed principle law of sowing and reaping is like a master potter; we have complete power “over the clay” that creates our personal world. Honor and dishonor are completely in our hands. It is through God’s seed principle law that we become clay in the potter’s hands. The seeds thoughts, words, and actions you choose to think are the powers that shape “the clay”. You have the God given right to create the kind of life you desire, and to make it based on honor or dishonor. You have the key to physical, spiritual, and financial wealth. It is not a key that you hold in your hand, but one that you hold in your heart and mind. “The wealth factor”, is within you, it is the key to the future you desire, to receive the desires of your heart. Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honor, and another unto dishonor? What if God is willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much long suffering the vessel of wrath fitted to destruction: and that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessel of mercy , which he had afore prepared unto glory. Since God uses

his seeds principle law of sowing and reaping to make you the potter, you can make anything you want to make. Is it not time you take complete charge of your destiny? Quit letting things happen to you. Start now! Allow the right things that you desire to happen for you. It is your own responsibility to make your goals come through. You can only make this happen when you are willing to follow Gods scriptural instructions found there in His word. You can do this! Like God created His world, by first having a clear image of what your goals are. For your mind and heart is your own special factory; they are where you are always at work making the mental and emotional molds that are shaping and fashioning your future. It is there in the factory of your mind that it all first begins. Your happiness or sadness, joy or misery, faith or doubt, love or hate, prosperity or poverty each begins with a seed thought. The good or bad circumstances, conditions and events that you experience are first created by you in the factory of your mind and heart. They are made there only by you before they appeared in your world as answered prayer, emotions, experiences or material things, and believe my heart to put pictures of wealth, success and prosperity throughout the word of God. When you see your read the word of God, I pray they will help you believe Gods promises to supply all your needs according to his riches in glory according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now when he was asked by the Pharisees when the king of the world should come he answered and said” The kingdom of God does not come with observation nor will they say see here or see there!”
Rom: 9 21-23 KJV.
Phillipians 4:19
for indeed the kingdom of God is within you. The scriptures that you will be reading will help you to believe that God listens to the desires of your heart. I dedicate the Bible of course to those who need a spiritual blessing, but also, especially to those who need financial blessing and a blessing for success and Divine favor in your lives. The condition of your world is your responsibility, words and actions. You are the only one in your world who has the power to choose what you will habitually think. However, you must create it there in your intangible, invisible world or thoughts first before it will ever be created in your tangible world. Again, let me remind you there is a message in every picture, let them by faith help you visualize in your mind’s eye the type of material blessings you need. What kind of blessings do you need right now in your life? Do you need a better paying job? Do you need an increase in your monthly cash flow coming into you and your family? Do you need a new vehicle? Do you need a home you could call your own? How about a bank loan to help you with your business? Whatever your needs are, make your request known to the Lord in prayer and by faith visualize in your mind and heart the answer you desire. These are scriptural instructions. This is why I tell you, as to whatever you pray and make request for if you believe you have receive it by faith it shall be yours. Receive your blessing of salvation it is the greatest gift you can ever receive from the Lord. Rev Linus J Baptiste Global kingdom Life Changing Center

A Strategy For Life T
he heart of the Father has been revealed to this house. He has spoken to you and given you the strategy life; and all that you need for end-time prosperity and spiritual refreshing. The Bible says that His divine power has given unto us all things that pertain to life and godliness, So the strategy being released to this house is about life and godliness. So God says to this house: • Come away my Beloved • Redeem the time • Pursue God’s Presence through Prayer • Escape the wrath which is to come by making right choices. he bible speaks of the people of Issachar. They were described as a people who understand the times and know what to do. To understand the times is to be aware of current events and how they relate to the final authority, God’s word in these last days. For example those who are flowing in that Issachar anointing saw what happened in Chile as more than 33 men were trapped and finally freed. When you see these rough and tough men emerging from a cave of death praising God before the eyes of the world; you understand that God is preaching a message of Salvation and deliverance to the whole world through the prophetic demonstration of what should have been a total disaster.
T
O
ften God calls us to come away with him to a secret place where he will reveal his power and his glory to us; but we ignore his wooing until life caves in on us. Often God is reaching out to us to free us from our hurts, our hang-ups, and our habits; but instead of making Godly choices; we would rather do it our way. Who would think that one could come out of a cave spiritually refreshed? These men in Chile are not the first to experience a metamorphosis in a dark place. David did; and you can too. Perhaps you are in the Cave of Adullam right now; surrounded by people who are in distressed, and stressing you out. Maybe you are overwhelmed with the darkness of debt without seeing a way out. There is always a way out. God is supernaturally erasing debt for those who are passionately crying out to him. Did he not say call unto me and I will show you great and mighty things you know not of. Come away beloved people of God into a new dimension of faith in God and in His word.
G
od sent a prophet to David; and he has sent me to you to tell you it is time to come out of the cave. The prophet said to David, you have been in the cave long enough. It is time to depart and get to the land of Judah. I say that the breakers anointing is here to cause you to come out of everything that has hindered your break through. The word of the Lord to you is get to the land of Judah, or get to the land of praise; the place of strength and great deliverance; to the place where you can redeem the time. This is indeed the day and hour of acceleration. Isaiah prophesied of these last days. In Isa 2:2-3 2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. 3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us
By Dr. Shirley Maxwell
go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. Note what Isaiah said: in these last days, the house of God, the true church would occupy a commanding position over the whole world. This is the hour of establishing, strengthening, undergirding, and empowering for the people of God who are pressing into purpose, pursuing his presence, and cultivating a passion for prayer. Soon the nations of the world will acknowledge their ignorance of the true and living God. The nations of the World will begin to flow to the house of the Lord.
T
he question is: will the house be ready to receive the increase? I decree and declare that you will be ready. For this day the Lord has given you the strategy for readiness. He says first of all: arise my love, my fair one and come away my beloved. These words are from the Song of Solomon; a book that describes the intimate relationship between Christ and His Church. Christ is stirring his Bride to love. There is a clarion call to the remnant church that lives in the cleft of the rock. He is calling us to come away to the secret places of the stairs that we might climb the hill of the Lord. The Psalmist ask: who shall ascend the hill of the Lord or who shall stand in his holy place? The answer of course is he that has clean hands and a pure heart; and those who do not lift up their soul to vanity or those who do not allow their emotions, their intellect, and even their will to be involved with empty things; things void of spiritual refreshing. The church longs for spiritual refreshing or so we say; but we get offended when the word tells us how to come into it. In Acts 3:19, the Word of God tells us how to have that refreshing. Would you read it with me; so you can see I am not making it up? Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. We pursue His Presence as we repent. Repentance releases change. That’s what converted means. Some one might be saying who me? sin, Yes, the bible says that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. And that if we say we have not sin we lie and deceive ourselves.
T
he difference between Saul and David was a repenting heart. That is what God meant when He said that David was a man after His own heart. Now we know David’s story, he was not a perfect man; but he was a man that was quick to repent. Repentance kept him on the cutting edge of the anointing. He was quick to say, bring me the ephod. He was quick to pray, to inquire of God, Shall I go up? Every time he sought the mind of God and made the right choices he was victorious. All that God is saying and doing is about his eternal purpose for His people. Over the past year I was in deep research relative to eschatology and end time events. One thing that I saw throughout the bible was a loving God who continually reached out to his people that they might escape his wrath. Even in Genesis; Noah was given 120 years as a preacher of righteousness to build the ark. The ark speaks of the presence of the Lord. Only those who got into the ark, got into the presence of the Lord we saved from the flood waters.
W
hen the flood waters were abated; Noah built an altar to the Lord and worshipped God. His worship ascended to God and became a pleasing aroma to him. As a result, God made a promise never to destroy the earth again by water, and gave us a rainbow as a reminder of that promise. But then he tells us in 1 Peter 4:7 that the end
of all things is at hand. He encourages us to be sober, and watch unto prayer. Then in 4:17 he said for the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? What is going to be the end result of those who refuse to make Godly choices? God heart is to encourage you, to strengthen you, and empower you to make godly choices. He wants you to compare everything you see and hear with the Word of God. What does the Word say about that? It says:
W
e are living in perilous times; but as long as we are established in present truth we will grow in grace while we live in the hope of his second coming. Finally, I want to share something with you that blessed me recently. In Matt. 21, we have the record of Jesus’ visit to the temple. There he was so grieved because of all the things that were going on in his house that did not honor him. Some where in Matthew 21 the bible says that Jesus left the temple and all the people who were merchandising there; and he went out of the city and came into Bethany; and he lodge there. Note the condition of the house of God; the temple, was such that he could find no resting place there. He was however able to lodge in a place called Bethany. Bethany was everything the temple should have been and was not. There at Bethany the Lord’s heart and his needs were met. He was appreciated and loved. Bethany was the home of Martha, Mary and Lazarus; his true friends. They made Jesus feel at home. On his way to their home, he passed a fig tree. Expecting to find fruit, it had only leaves. When you understand the fig tree, you see why Jesus cursed it and it withered and died. Most trees get leaves first, then fruit. However, the fig tree gets fruit first then leaves. So to be covered with leaves without any fruit at all speaks volumes. It speaks of deception.
T
he dead dry religious system was full of deception. There was no place for the Lord there. There was nothing that could sustain life there. The religious system had leaves but it had no fruit. So he went to Bethany which means house of figs. The Lord is looking for a house full of fruit. He is looking for fullness. Bethany speaks of a people who do not live for themselves. They are servants like Martha who served the Lord with her whole heart. They are worshippers like Mary who spend time at his feet like Mary listening to his every word. They are overcomers like Lazarus who experienced his resurrection power. All of that is available to us right now. Let us begin to stand in worship and repentance before the Lord. Prayer:
Holy Spirit come now, breathe upon your people. Fire of God come now, and consume your people. Bread of Heaven, come and feed your people till we want no more. Fountain of Living water, we are thirsty for you. As the deer pants after the water brook so pants our soul for thee O God. Father, we are rising up and coming away with you. We desire more of you and less of ourselves. Lord, erase all confusion. Deliver us of every lie that we have believe. Father, touch us as we cry out to you. Come Lord Jesus, and work in us. Release us, your people into a new dimension of freedom. Those of you who have never accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart, Now is the time, behold he stands at the door and knocks; if any man would hear and open to him he will gladly come in right now. We stir the gifts of healing right now, in Jesus name. I decree and declare freedom from hurts, hang-ups and habits. Spirit of deliverance you are welcome in this place.

ENTERING THE DIMENSION OF GOD (English & Spanish) By Pastor Ed. Citronelli - World Healing International Min. 3 Herriot St. Yonkers NY, 10701
H
ave you ever wondered where God came from? I know, I know, the bible says that God has no beginning or end and that He is from everlasting to everlasting (Psalms 90:2). That is true, and I believe with all my heart, and I don’t question it. When we look at our physical world, we see the beauty, splendor and the phenomenal sequence of order. This includes all physical elements, and with it, as a masterpiece of decoration in the center of it is mankind. If God has no beginning and no end, then it stands to reason that neither heaven existed with God, but God created it. I believe that He created not only the first and second heaven (the sky and outer space), but also the third heaven which is His dwelling place, that belongs to him as well. The bible says in Deuteronomy 10:14 “Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the Lord’s thy God….” Here, the “heaven of heavens” is the main heaven of all heavens, which is the highest heaven. The Apostle Paul called this heaven the third heaven (2 Cor. 12:2). If then, the third heaven belongs to the Lord; it means that the owner (God) existed before the possession (the third heaven). So God who is from everlasting to everlasting, having no beginning and no end, created His own dwelling place….”the third heaven” and everything in it. This includes all angels, the gates of the city which has twelve pearls and the street paved with gold (Rev. 21:21), and the sea that looks likes glass (Rev. 4:6). This is the personification of what’s called the dimension of God. In this respect, God created two dimensions of existence,
the spiritual and then the physical. He created that which is unseen and that which is seen. Inclusive in the spiritual dimension, He created the angels, and in the physical dimension He created man. It was God’s plan and will for man to function like Him and the angels. He wanted man to be eternal life Himself and the angels. He wanted man to have power over his environment. He created the earth for man, not man for the earth. Establishing this truth is essential for us in order to have dominion as God intended (Gen. 1:26). The problem we are having is that we have forgotten not only this critical truth, but once we have found it; it only becomes information FOR us and not revelation TO us. When this becomes revelation TO us, we can extract that which already exits in the unseen realm and transfer it into that which is seen (the earth).
W
hen this happens, then truly nothing shall become impossible for us to do in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Let’s look briefly at the principles of God’s dimension in order to tap into the miraculous. Let’s see how God taught Ezekiel how to enter this dimension. In Ezekiel 37:1-14, we see the following principles for the miraculous: 1. Life in the Spirit -Ezekiel lived a life in the Spirit (v. 1). 2. The Problem of Man - God caused Ezekiel to see the problem as God saw it (v.1b-2). 3. The Challenge from God –God challenged Ezekiel’s faith in Him, because He needs a man that will believe Him for the impossible in order for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven (v.3) 4. The Revelation – Once He saw that Ezekiel believed Him, He revealed His answer to solve the problem(v.4-6) 5. The Action of Man – Ezekiel acted upon the instructions of God given to him (v.7-8) 6. Persevering Faith – Ezekiel saw ninety nine percent ángeles.
of God’s word come immediately to pass except one, the breath of the Spirit to make the dead bones live(v.8), but Ezekiel did not give up believing. So God instructed him on the missing piece to answer the problem. This is where most of the people of God abort their complete miracle. It’s when they see only some of what they believe God for beginning to show up, they don’t remain in faith.
B
eloved, in order to enter and extract our miracles from the dimension of God, we need to stay firm in our faith. There is a thin wall that separates the supernatural from the natural. In order to break down this wall, we need the God type of faith. A faith that doesn’t give up. A faith that preservers until it sees the result on the earth. Do you find yourself in a valley? Is that which you were depending on dying or have died already? Has it died so long already that its state is “very dry”? Well this was the state Ezekiel found these bones. This was the metaphoric state in which he found the house of Israel. Israel had a promise, a covenant and a future, but circumstance, mistakes, errors and bad choices got them into valley of dry bones. This was how they were feeling and this was all they saw…hopelessness. But God changed it all in one day through the mouth of the Prophet. Well, I have good news for you too. The same God of the valley is the same God of the mountain. The same God that transforms dry bones into working bones still operates the same way today. He is the same yesterday, today and forevermore. This is what happens when you enter the Dimension of God. That which is dead will come alive, the hopeless becomes hopeful, sadness is turned into joy, the valleys becomes mountains, mourning is turned into dancing, tests become triumphs and trials become testimonies. Are you ready to enter this Dimension? huesos muertos vivos (v. 8), pero Ezequiel no renunció a creer.

Immigration Reform Obama: Immigration Debate Will Slip Into the Fall WASHINGTON July 17, 2013 (AP)President Barack Obama on Tuesday conceded that an immigration overhaul cannot be achieved by his August deadline. With House Republicans searching for a way forward on the issue, the president said he was hopeful a bill could be finalized this fall — though even that goal may be overly optimistic. The president, in a series of interviews with Spanish language television stations, also reiterated his insistence that any legislation include a pathway to citizenship for the 11 million people in the U.S. illegally. Many House GOP lawmakers oppose the citizenship proposal, hardening the differences between the parties on the president’s top second-term legislative priority. “It does not make sense to me, if we’re going to make this once-in-a-generation effort to finally fix this system, to leave the status of 11 million people or so unresolved,” he said during an interview with Telemundo’s Denver affiliate. The White House sees the president’s outreach to Hispanics as a way to keep up enthusiasm for the overhaul among core supporters even as the legislative prospects in Washington grow increasingly uncertain. Some Republicans view support for immigration reform as central to the party’s national viability given the growing political power of Hispanics. But many House GOP lawmakers representing conservative — and largely white — districts see little incentive to back legislation.
The president said the lack of consensus among House Republicans will stretch the immigration debate past August, his original deadline for a long-elusive overhaul of the nation’s fractured laws. “That was originally my hope and my goal,” Obama said. “But the House Republicans I think still have to process this issue and discuss it further, and hopefully, I think, still hear from constituents, from businesses to labor, to evangelical Christians who all are supporting immigration reform.” Supporters are working on strategy to get the House to sign off on an overhaul. On Tuesday, most members of the so-called Gang of Eight — the bipartisan group of senators that authored the Senate immigration bill — met in the Capitol with a large group of advocates from business, religious, agriculture and other organizations to urge everyone to work together to move the issue through the House. The senators distributed a list of 121 House Republicans seen as persuadable in favor of the bill and discussed honing a message for Congress’ month long August recess, when House members will meet with constituents and potentially encounter opposition to immigration legislation. “When we go into the August break we want to be sure everybody’s working hard and trying to make our case,” said Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., after the meeting. The landmark bill passed by the Senate last month would tighten border security, expand the highly skilled worker program and set up new guest worker arrangements for lower-skilled workers and farm laborers. It would also provide a pathway to citizenship for many of the 11 million immigrations illegally in the U.S., one that includes paying fines, learning English and taking other steps. During his interview with Univision’s New York affiliate, Obama said the citizenship pathway “needs to be part of the bill.”

RELIGIOUS NEWS Bishop TD Jakes Shocked by George Zimmerman Not Guilty Verdict; Addresses Case in Sunday Service
B
ishop T.D. Jakes of The Potter’s House in Dallas was admittedly shocked by the not guilty verdict given Saturday evening in the George Zimmerman case, and broke away from his normal message during the majority of the worship service on Sunday to discuss the case from the church’s stage. Along with a panel of leaders in various professions, including in law and psychological counseling, and who are church members of The Potter’s House, Jakes hit on a wide range of issues that the court case with its racial
overtones raised. “I cannot imagine the devastation of this man and woman (Martin’s parents), whose son committed absolutely no crime at all, walking down the street on his way to his daddy’s house with some Skittles and a soda, and ends up being followed by someone and ends up with an altercation with someone, and never makes it to his destination,” said Jakes, near the beginning of his message. “Those parents are left grieving.” Zimmerman, who is half Hispanic and half Caucasian, was acquitted by a Florida jury on Saturday in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, an unarmed black teen. Shortly after the verdict, which was announced around 10 p.m. ET., civil rights leaders and critics expressed dismay at the verdict. On Sunday morning, debates about racial profiling, guns, self-defense laws and the equality of justice that came as the result of the shooting in 2012 continued. “Regardless of what you think should or should not have been done in that trial, and I have to say, I seldom speak out about a case,” Jakes said before the panel discussion. “I seldom take time on a Sunday morning to deal with politics or anything else. I am generally silent because I have an obligation as a pastor to bring you the word of God regardless of what is going on in the times … I grappled with whether or not to be saying anything about this. I feel like for the most part that when you come to church you come to get the good news of Jesus Christ. “But I cannot ignore the obligation that I have to you … it would be disingenuous of me to not tell you quite honestly and quite succinctly that I was stunned, shocked, [and] speechless about the outcome of this trial,” he continued. “Maybe
it turned out for you just the way you wanted it to, and that’s fine. I am not here to change your mind, but what makes this country great is that I have the right to my opinion, you have the right to your opinion.” Jakes said that since the verdict he received more than 100 calls from all over the country from pastors and friends who are in tears as a result of the decision. “I think it is an oversimplification of the truth to say this is totally about racism,” he said. “I think that all people should be concerned. All people of all colors should be concerned.” He suggested that perhaps the media unnecessarily focused its coverage of the trial on race. “But every parent who has a teenager, who dresses in some stereotypical way, needs to be a little alarmed that we live in a country where if that teenager is followed and ends up in a fight that we have now said it’s okay to kill him if you lose the fight,” Jakes explained and after pausing said, “…even though you are bigger and older and carrying a gun.” Jakes said that despite the criticism of pastors and Christians in general with associations to national issues, politicians, and political movements, the Church needs to continue speaking the truth of the Gospel. “We sit there and watch it (injustices) and we don’t say anything. I want to get rid of this lynching mentality where we come out and watch people burn up and don’t say anything about it, and [instead] bring power to the church, where the church begins to speak up and speak its conviction,” he said. “Even if we don’t all agree as Christians, that’s okay. What’s important is that we be heard, that we be considered, that we be reflected upon.” Before ending in prayer, Jakes, who told new guests to the church that they had just witnessed an entirely different service, perhaps the most unique in the church’s history, said he was concerned about what the verdict might mean to future cases similar in nature. “Once you redefine something on the books (law), what happens when a woman is going through a parking garage and somebody follows her? And she’s taken some kind of defense training and she tries to defend herself and she gets shot to death,” Jakes insisted. “Now we have a case on the books that defends the one who shot them. ... Now you have changed the standard and even if you think it was right in this case, what happens to the precedence that you set for the next case? For someone that has no weapon and tries to fight back, do you get to kill me because I can fight?” Jakes concluded the service by saying that the Church is in a critical time in history when it’s important to accept differences of opinion and at the same time, worship God together despite those differences.
The Old Testament and Abortion: Why King Soloman Was Pro-Life I have always thought that King Solomon was prolife because of the heavenly wisdom he displayed in determining the mother of the baby who was alive. His determination was based on the one who chose life. Many argue the relevance of the scriptures for today, yet even the most secular scholars quote proverbs and recognize wisdom from ancient writings. I was pleased recently to note a beautiful theme of life woven through the book of Proverbs that is amazingly relevant to the battle we fight for life. “My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent. If they say, “Come with us, let us lie in wait to shed blood;Let us lurk secretly for the innocent without cause; Let us swallow them alive like Sheol, and whole, like those who go down to the Pit; We shall find all kinds of precious possessions, We shall fill our houses with spoil.” Proverbs 1:10-13 Solomon advises sternly against the ways of the abortion industry. They lurk secretly under names like “choice” and “Planned Parenthood” to kill innocent lives in exchange for “precious possessions.” “For their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed blood. But they lie in wait for their own blood,They lurk secretly for their own lives. So are the ways of
everyone who is greedy for gain; It takes away the life of its owners.” Proverbs1:16, 18-19 Solomon describes the behavior of the abortion industry and those who support it. They haste to shed blood. Their feet run to evil. America recently witnessed Wendy Davis wearing a suit and running shoes, hastening to defend abortion. Abortion destroys the flesh and blood of the very mother laying on a cold table under the pretense that it is just tissue and her
legally protected choice. When in reality, it even destroys the life of the mother if she survives the proce-
dure that kills her own child. Proverbs 1:28-31 “Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me. Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the Lord, They would have none of my counsel and despised my every rebuke. Therefore they shall eat the fruit of their own way, and be filled to the full with their own fancies. Solomon even warns ones who hate knowledge. The abortion industry hates sonogram laws because the truth of the life in the womb destroys their evil plot to profit from killing the life she carries. Businesses who support Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers are painfully deceived. There is only one business that profits even temporarily from less people being alive- abortion. Even the abortion industry will die when there are no mothers alive to pay them to kill their children. It is almost as if king Solomon understood the futility of the evil abortion empire in our time. Proverbs 1:32 For the turning away of the simple will slay them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them;
