MARVIN L. WINANS RECOVERING FROM CARJACKING AND ROBBERY Los Angeles, CA (May 2012) - Famed gospel recording artist and pastor, Marvin L. Winans was the victim of an assault, carjacking and robbery at a local gas station in Detroit, Michigan on Wednesday, May 16. Detroit police said they don’t believe the group of young attackers knew they had targeted a prominent Detroit pastor and singer. www.wxyz.com Detroit Police have identified two suspects as part of a carjacking gang. Authorities now have two warrants against a 17- year old and a 20-year old in connection with robbery. Winans said he was disturbed that this happened "in the middle of the afternoon" and, at first, "nobody came to help." “I’m more saddened by this incident than being physically hurt. I grew up in Detroit and have never encountered anything like this. I want to thank every one for their calls of concern and words of encouragement. I believe in the power of prayer and the unity that can be gained in a community when we band together,” says Winans. After the assault and theft of Winans’ gold watch and wallet containing $200, three or four young men carjacked his deep-burgundy 2012 Infiniti QX56 SUV he was driving. The altercation took place at a Citgo station in the southwest part of Detroit leaving the pastor with scrapes, bumps and ripped pants. Winans was driven to a local hospital where he was thoroughly examined for his injuries. Besides a broken finger and few bruises, doctors released him to go home where he is currently recovering from the incident. “If they would have asked me for
the money, I would have given it to them. Our young people have to find their purpose in life. It has to be bigger than sitting in a gas station waiting to rob innocent people. We’ve got to do a better job raising our young men,” states Winans. There’s has been no report of Winans’ vehicle or stolen property being returned. According to a recent Detroit crime statistics report http://www. cityrating.com/crime-statistics/ michigan/detroit.html there’s an overall downward trend in crime based on data from 11 years with violent crime decreasing and property crime decreasing. Based on this trend, the crime rate in Detroit for 2012 is expected to be lower than in 2009. Despite the projection of a decrease in crime innocent people are still being victimized and incidents are being reported daily to the police. The city violent crime rate for Detroit in 2009 was higher than the national violent crime rate average by 358.02% and the city property crime rate in Detroit was higher than the national property crime rate average by 85.64%. Winans’ current chart-topping single, “Let The Church Say Amen” is positioned on Billboard.com list as the nation’s top gospel recording. The legendary singer is also set to release a new CD June 26 titled, “Marvin Winans Present: A Praise and Worship Experience” that was recorded live in Detroit. The project features some of gospel music’s big names Mary Mary, Donnie McClurkin, Bishop Paul Morton and others.

Pastor Creflo Dollar released a statement about his arrest earlier today regarding his alleged assault on his 15-year-old daughter. He released a statement through his rep saying, "As a father I love my children and I always have their best interest at heart at all times, and I would never use my hand to ever cause bodily harm to my children. The facts in this case will be handled privately to further protect my children. My family

arfield Bowen, born and raised in Campden Park on the Island of St. Vincent, and the Grenadines, the first of five children, and raised by his grandmother. He is married to Patricia Bowen born in England of Jamaican parents. Garfield migrated to the USA in the mid-nineties. Prior to leaving St. Vincent he was a member of the Campden Park Wesleyan Holiness Church, where he attended from a young age. He realized his gift of singing at age seven, he accepted the Lord as his personal savior at the age of 10, and was baptized at the age of 12. His passion for singing grew and he continued to sing, joining many groups, choirs, and singing solo. Although Garfield enjoys singing and has been singing for most of his life, he has never had the desire to produce a CD. South Carolina Pastor Criticizes Planned Parenthood for “Targeting” Minorities Planned Parenthood was under attack this week by Pastor Patrick Dye of Macedonia Baptist Church in Columbia, South Carolina. Pastor Dye believes that Planned Parenthood targets blacks and other minorities by strategically placing clinics in urban communities. Therefore, he took to his church’s outdoor message sign to spread the word. Last Thursday he put up the phrase, “Ultimate Racism: Abortionists Target Black Babies”, which he claims will educate people about abortion. He says the “abortionists” include, but are not limited to, Planned Parenthood. “I cannot be silent and just say that’s somebody else’s problem or I’m not dark enough to care about that issue. I can’t do that,” says Pastor Dye. “This is the crime of America Planned Parenthood purposely locates in minority communities. The Planned Parenthood clinic is located at the edge of a white community, but right there within walking distance of the housing project on Forest Drive and Two Notch Road.” Pastor Dye believes that the Planned

The Holiness of God’s Name
One of the great marks of unadulterated repentance is that believers begin to hold the name of the Lord in much higher regard than they did previously. As the next part of Isaiah 26 states, “Yes, LORD, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts.” Years ago, an Orthodox Jewish friend assured me that we Gentile Christians do not comprehend how holy the name of the Lord is to religious Jews. He suggested that Christians handle the Lord’s name too lightly. For a religious Jew Ha Shem ()םש, the Name, is to be honored above all and is not even to be spoken lightly. The Name of the Lord represents the Person of God Himself: who He is, His character, His purpose, and His power. Strong’s Concordance to the Bible describes Ha Shem as, “an appellation, as a mark or memorial of individuality; by implication honor, authority, character…” The very nature of the Lord of Israel is contained in His holy name. The most holy form of God’s name in the Bible is the Hebrew tetragrammaton. It consists of the letters yud, he, vav, and he ( )הוהיand no Orthodox Jew ever pronounces it. Instead, when a religious Jew reads the Hebrew Scriptures aloud and this name appears, he will use the names Adonai (the Lord) or Elohim (the supreme God) in its place. As my Jewish friend pointed out, no Jew alive today or for many centuries past would even know how to pronounce this holy name. Yet along come Gentile Christians who claim to know with authority that the name represented by these four Hebrew letters is pronounced Jehovah or, more recently, Yah-weh. If Gentile Christians sometimes shake their heads at Jewish unbelief in the Messiah, how do Jews feel when Christians claim knowledge that they cannot possibly have? We who are Christ’s servants are called to “provoke” the Jews to jealousy after their God (Romans 10:19 and 11:11)—not to make them shake their heads! Why should this matter to us today? As Jesus stated in Matthew 12:34, “For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” (NKJV) What we speak and how we speak reveals much

about the attitude of a Three of our hearts. Every day in our beloved land sinners use the name of the Lord as a curse! I remember years ago sitting on some steps on the Old Campus at Yale, hearing a young woman hold an animated conversation in an Asian language. The only word that I could understand was when she cursed using the name of Jesus! At the time I thought, why not use the name of Buddha or some Eastern god? Why did she have to use the name of Jesus? Where does such cursing come from? It comes straight out of hell! The devil knows how holy the name of God is, and wants to drag that name down in the streets. Yet, when revival comes, people honor the name of the Lord; they fear the name of God. His Name is no longer just a word that has scarcely any real meaning to them. Believers can also be careless about their use of God’s name. As a freshman at Yale University in 1971, I took part in morning prayer meetings six days a week in the old Dwight Hall Library. My brothers in Christ and I prayed with all the vigor we could muster at 7:15 AM—but we had a lot to learn! Proverbs 27:17 states that, “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” We were so serious about praying that, in our youthful enthusiasm, we sometimes pounded hard on the arms of the library’s poor old overstuffed chairs. It was a wonder that the padding did not come out! Worse yet, we outdid one another with, “O Lord… Father God…Jesus… Lord…Heavenly Father…O Lord…,” until we began to wonder about the propriety of such abundant use of the names of a Holy God. Thereafter, we counted one another’s use of God’s name in every prayer, until one of us was caught using the name of the Lord 104 times in a single session! We all finally realized that something was amiss, that we needed an entirely new respect for the Lord’s name, and a more humble way of praying! In the months that followed, the Lord was no slower to respond to our prayerful requests, just because we used His name more sparingly and respectfully.
The Fear of the Lord
Is it possible that we who are believers treat God and His holy name too lightly? Have we become overly
familiar in handling divine realities? We speak so much nowadays about the love of God that one has to ask, have we forgotten about the fear of the Lord? Do we understand what Paul meant when he wrote in Hebrews 10:31, “It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” We sing, “Our God is an Awesome God,” but do we understand awesome as in the modern slang of “Awesome, dude!”—or do we know this word in its original etymological sense of “respect combined with fear and wonder”? Fear is not a popular word in contemporary Christian circles but Moses, the great Jewish prophet and lawgiver, understood the meaning of fear from first-hand experience. That is why he wrote in Psalm 90:11-12, Who knows the power of your anger? For your wrath is as great as the fear that is due you. Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Moses knew the terror of the Lord, and even felt the ground shake beneath his feet in the presence of God! He saw God face to face, as few men ever have, and begged the Lord to grant him “a heart of wisdom.” Compared to Moses, might we Gentile Christians be too quick to think that we are already wise, we who have never seen God? We freely air our opinions on religious matters, and spout our personal theologies. We too often preface our views with the words, "Well, I think...," and speak of things we comprehend partially at best! As Leonard Ravenhill wrote of one contemporary Christian theologian in Revival Praying (p. 18), “He has a right to his opinion, but that does not make his opinion right.” We justifiably criticize the Jews of Jesus’ day for substituting their own thoughts and traditions for the plain sense of the Word of God. Yet do we not do the very same thing with our multiplicity of traditions, theologies, and denominations? In Jesus’ words from Mark 7:6-8, Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written: “These people honor me with their

lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.” You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to the traditions of men. These are very strong and even offensive words, but we must keep in mind that they were spoken not only as a reproof to the Jews, but also as a warning to Gentile believers. Are our hearts also far from God? In genuine revival, people clap their hands over their mouths in astonishment at just how far off the mark their religious opinions were. Suddenly, God’s Word appears to be just as simple, true, and unchangeable as ever it was! God’s people also discover that passages from the Scriptures that once seemed to apply only to other people, actually apply to them as well.
The Thoughts of the Lord
Oh, how we boast about who we are and what we know—until we come into the presence of the living God! It is there that we realize, once again, that we are only fallen flesh and blood, just like everyone else! If anything is different about us, it is because of the gracious work of God in our lives— not because of what we have done or any special knowledge that we possess. In the words of the apostle Paul, who heard the voice of Jesus speaking to him from heaven, “If anyone thinks that he knows anything, he knows

I the LORD will hasten it in his time. This is just to remind us that we should not be anxious for anything, but instead we should focus on the One who provides us with everything. Because He is our Sustenance we are able to hope for the future. So whether things turn out the way we expect or not, we should stay focused on him. Have you ever being down a rough path and came out with a good result? This is because God loves you and He sees things that you cannot see. Romans 8:28 says, “For we know that all things work together for good to them that love the Lord and to them who are called according to His purpose” In Psalms 23:4, David said, “Yea thou I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me” If we can have this belief and confidence in God no matter what the test may be, we will overcome. So let us go on trusting God, believing in Him and committing ourselves to His will knowing that He will direct our path for the months to come. In St. John chapter 8:12, Jesus said, “I am the light of the world; he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” God bless

What Does The Bible Teach?
t the present time, millions of people are infected with the disease called AIDS. Multitudes are being infected by this disease daily at a rapid rate. Soon, if not already, every family in the world will have someone infected by this terrible disease. There was a time when homosexuality was not spoken of very much in the public. In the last twenty years or so this has changed. Vast numbers of people are coming out of their so called closets. Christians have been silent too long. According to the Word of God, HOMOSEXUALITY IS SIN. It is not an alternate life style as many would have us to believe. Homosexuality is contrary to nature and the Bible. This sin is found in the first book of the Bible: Genesis 13:13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly. God revealed to Abraham that He was going to destroy Sodom. Genesis 18.20 And the LORD said, because the cry of Sodom and Gomor-
rah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; God sent two angels, who appeared as men, into Sodom to warn Lot and his family to flee the city. The angels spent the night in Lot’s house. That night the men of Sodom surrounded the house and said: Genesis 19:5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came into the thee this night? Bring them out unto us, that we may know them. Then Lot offered to give the men of Sodom his two virgin daughters, but the men of Sodom did not want them, they wanted the men. Thank God for Close Doors A friend of mine went to do an interview and was told that he was not qualified for the position. With despair written across his face he said to me, “Maizie, I did not get the job.” I responded, “Did you give God thanks?” Most surprised he asked, “What did you say?” Emphatically, I repeated, “Did you give God thanks?” He said, “How can I give thanks for a job I did not get?” I replied, “Because God has something better for you.”About a week after he was called to another interview and though he was the least qualified of the interviewees, he got the job and was promoted shortly after as Supervisor of his department. 1 Thes 5:18 says, “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” Never complain about the closed doors in your life. Since God knows the future, He will close doors that are necessary to be closed for his plan and purpose to be fulfilled in your life. When you pray about certain situations, expect God’s answer which is not always a yes but sometimes a no or wait. If He says no, give thanks for He is working out everything for your

Some opened doors were not meant to stay opened permanently, but rather for that moment. God may be using them to prepare you for other opened doors. Closed doors are signals to freshly opened doors, new opportunities, new relationships, greater achievements; entrance to the blessings God has in store
for you. Isaiah 43:18-19 says, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up, do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in wasteland.” So when the man or the woman you thought was your life mate turns his/her back on you, don’t sit down and despair. Give God thanks for if it were the will of God for him/her to be in your life forever, then it would have been. Perhaps that relationship was only meant to teach you lessons for a better relationship to come. And you know what? The door may not be closed permanently! Maybe God is just fixing things to put his seal; and when he sealed it, it is well sealed. So give Him thanks. Closed doors may also signal new direction. God may be saying no don’t
go right; go left for there is danger going right. Once I questioned God about a particular situation in my life and His advice was in Isaiah 30:21 which says, “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying this is the way, walk in it.” God will direct you in the path that you should go so don’t become anxious; don’t be led into depression; don’t allow fear to master your life; don’t become pessimistic when things aren’t working out. Trust God to fulfill His promise in your life and thank Him for your closed doors.

A Memphis pastor is accused of trying to run over his wife. Deborah Ray claims her husband, Reverend Frank Ray, tried to mow her down in his $150,000 Bentley two weeks ago. According to cops, Dr. Frank E. Ray, pastor of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, got the attention of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office on May 25th. Deborah Ray, the reverend’s wife of eight years, told sheriff’s deputies her estranged husband showed up at their Eads, Tennessee home two weeks ago and accused her of driving his Bentley while he was out of town. The two argued and in the midst of the argument Mrs. Ray said the man of the cloth put the pedal to the metal and tried to run her down. Byron Shields attends Rev. Ray’s services at New Salem and had this to say… “Not

He thinks she’s just mad, and made the accusations “because he’s in the eye of the public. She’s trying to hurt him like that.” But Danielle Leseuer says Ray’s wife is telling the truth. “I’ve heard negative things about him… that doesn’t sit well with me.” She says Rev. Ray isn’t setting a good example. Jesse Johnson agrees. “You’re supposed to be giving the word out and you over here trying to run over your wife, you contradicting yourself,” Johnson said. While Mrs. Ray wouldn’t talk on camera, she did tell abc24 by telephone that she’s not at liberty to talk about the case.

he realization of prosperity is the dream and theme of most people, today. Our economy is in crisis. The alleged leadership doesn’t appear to have a clue of what to do or are deliberately compounding them for their own advantage. Corruption and greed, waste, inefficiency, poor investments, lack of vision and productivity, wars and anti-life consciousness are principle causes for our dilemma. The hour is late and we can’t wait or hesitate any longer and everyone needs to participate. If we will humble ourselves in prayer and meditation and seek the forgiveness of our Lord it is possible to restore our blessings like before.. If we can discipline ourselves and listen closely to the divine instructions we can thrive not just survive and be truly alive. If we will change our wicked ways we will have new days and will be blessed and not stressed, anymore. We are interdependent, not independent. We need each other. A spirit of cooperation, not competition is very important. Everyone has a valuable role to play. Our progress and success depend on it. Positivity and creativity can help to transform our nega-
tivity beyond the norm to a brighter future for the country. It is imperative that we begin to shift and lift ourselves from the gloom and doom, fear, worry and anxiety, to an attitude of optimism, hope and gratitude, a “we can do spirit”. The media must do it’s critical part in instilling a spirit of hope, optimism and encouragement to it’s viewers and listeners rather than hopelessness and the inevitability of disasters. Every individual has to take responsibility for their thoughts and actions. Each person contributes to it’s nations movement and improvement or to it’s stagnation and deterioration. A nation is a sum total of it’s constructive and destructive parts. Every moment we
have a choice to move forward and upward or downward and backward. Prosperity is only a thought away. Give your attention to the highest and best things in life and you will surely begin to attract and receive them. Think only of Donald Greenwell what you desire to be, do and have, and never ever on what you don’t want to be, do or have. Allow and let only good things to come your way, everyday. Remember, you can achieve whatever you conceive and believe for yourself. You are worthy and deserving of having everything good and all the time, if you don’t allow or let worry, doubt or fear to interfere. Prosperity is part of your divine inheritance and right when you

A PRAYER FOR MARRIAGE

F
ather in the beginning, you provided a partner for man. Now I have found a wife to be my partner, and I have obtained favor from the Lord. I will not let mercy and truth forsake me. I bind them around my neck and write them on the tablets of my heart and so I find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man in the name of Jesus. I purpose to provide leadership to my wife the way Christ does to his Church, not by domineering but by cherishing. I will go all out in my love for her, exactly as Christ did for the church-a love marked by giving not getting. We are
the body of Christ, and when I love my wife, I love myself. It is my desire to give my wife what is due to her and I purpose to share my personal rights with her. Father, I am neither anxious nor intimidated but I am a good husband to my wife. I honor her and delight in her. In the new life of God's grace, we are equals. I purpose to treat my wife as an equal so that our prayers will be answered. Lord I delight greatly in your commandments, and my descendants will be mighty on earth and the generation of the upright will be blessed, wealth and riches will be in our house, and my righteousness will endure forever in the name of Jesus, I cultivate inner beauty, the gentle, gracious that God delights in. I choose to be a good, loyal wife to my husband and address him with respect. I will not be over anxious and intimidated. I purpose to be, by God grace, agree-
able, sympathetic, loving, compassionate and humble. I will be a blessing and also receive blessings. By the grace of God, I yield to the constant ministry of transformation by the Holy Spirit. I am being transformed into a gracious woman who retains honor and a virtuous woman who is a crown to my husband I purpose to walk wisely that I may build my house. Houses and riches are the inheritance of fathers and prudent wife is from the lord. In Christ I have redemption through. Just as my marriage gives me what is due to me, I seek to be fair to my marriage I share my rights with my wife. Strength and dignity are my clothing and my position in my household is strong. My family is in readiness for the future. The bread of Idleness (gossip, discontent and self pity) I will not eat. I choose to conduct the affairs of my household wisely存 realizing that wisdom from above is pure, peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruit, without hypocrisy. How can I be blameless?” The Good News is that when you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you automatically have a new life! The past is erased in God’s eyes. And sure, we all make mistakes, but 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” When you repent of your sins and receive God’s forgiveness, you are blameless in His sight!
Today, understand that God wants to pour His favor and honor on you. He doesn’t want to withhold any good thing from you. If there is anything in your life that isn’t pleasing to Him, go to the Father today and confess it to Him. His arms are open wide to you today. He’s ready to receive you and renew you with His love. Receive His forgiveness and let Him pour His favor and blessing on you all the days of your life! A PRAYER FOR TODAY Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me and choosing me. Thank You for giving me a new beginning and making me blameless in Your eyes. Search my heart today; show me if there is anything that would keep me from You in Jesus’ name. The Jordan River
The Jordan River (American English) or River Jordan (British English) is a 251 kilometres (156 mi) long river in West Asia flowing to the Dead Sea. Currently, the river serves as the eastern border of the State of Israel and of the disputed Palestinian Territories. In Christian tradition, Jesus was baptised in it by John the Baptist. The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan takes its name from this river.
Course The river drops rapidly in a 75 kilometre run to swampy Lake Hula, which is slightly above sea level. Exiting the lake, it drops much more in 25 kilometres to the Sea of Galilee. The last section has less gradient, and the river meanders before entering the Dead Sea, about 422 metres below sea level, which has no outlet. Two major tributaries enter from the east during this last section: the Yarmouk River and Jabbok River. Its section north of the Sea of Galilee (Hebrew: kinneret, Arabic: Bohayrat Tabaraya, meaning Lake of Tiberias) is within the boundaries of Israel, and forms the western boundary of the Golan Heights. South of the lake, it forms the border between the Kingdom of Jordan (to the east) and Israel and the West Bank (to the west). Human impact In 1964, Israel began operating a dam that diverts water from the Sea of Galilee, a major Jordan River water provider, to the National Water Carrier. Also in 1964, Jordan constructed a channel that diverted water from the Yarmouk River, another main tributary of the Jordan River. Syria has also built reservoirs that catch the Yarmouk's waters. Environmentalists blame Israel, Jordan and Syria for extensive damage to the Jordan River
ecosystem. In modern times, the waters are 70% to 90% used for human purposes and the flow is much reduced. Because of this and the high evaporation rate of the Dead Sea, the sea is shrinking. All the shallow waters of the southern end of the sea have been drained in modern times and are now salt flats. Small sections of the Jordan's upper portion, near the Sea of Galilee, have been kept pristine for baptisms. Most polluted is the 60-mile downstream stretch - a meandering stream from the Sea of Galilee to the Dead Sea. Environmentalists say the practice has almost destroyed the river's ecosystem. Rescuing the river could take decades, according to environmentalists. In 2007, Friends of the Earth Middle East (FoEME) named the Jordan River as one of the world's 100 most endangered ecological sites, due in part to lack of cooperation between Israel and neighboring Arab states. The same environmentalist organization said in a report that the Jordan River could dry up by 2011 unless the decay is stopped. The flow rate of the Jordan River once was 1.3 billion cubic metres per year; as of 2010, just 20 to 30 million cubic metres per year flow into the Dead Sea. For comparison, the total amount of desalinated water produced by Israel by 2012 will be about 500 million cubic metres per year. Importance The waters of the Jordan River are an important resource to the dry lands in the area and are a source of conflict among Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Israel and the Palestinians which began with 1951 Syrian border clashes. Mediation by the Eisenhower administration failed because Arab states would not agree to diverting 33% of water to Israel while only 23% originated
there. For Israel the Jordan, including the Yarmouk, supplies 40% of its fresh water, of which 70% is used in agriculture, while 80% of the water derived from renewable resources of the mountain aquifers in the region are also exploited by Israel. The National Water Carrier Project was begun in 1956 and completed in 1964; it combined all previous water projects and delivered water to the dry Mitzpe Ramon in the south. Soon after, Syria and Jordan decided to divert the Jordan water at the source. The diversion works would have reduced the installed capacity of Israel's carrier by about 35%, and Israel's overall water supply by about 11%. In April 1967 Israel conducted air raids into Syria to halt this work, and two months later the Six Day War followed. The use
of Jordan River's water as a vital regional resource was the cause of the war confirmed by Ariel Sharon who has said, People generally regard June 5, 1967, as the day the Six Day War began. That is the official date, but in reality it started two and a half years earlier on the day Israel decided to act against the diversion of the Jordan River. Transport Route 90, part of which is named after Rehavam Zeevi, connects the northern and southern tips of Israel and parallels the Jordan River on the western side.

You may have entered the Land but not until you get to a place called Beersheba…
What is the meaning of Beersheba? Gen. 21:31 1. It’s a place in the promised land where you don’t labor in vain, a place where you begin to see good result, a place of hidden treasures 2. It’s a place where you begin to hear nothing but Good news; the servants of Isaac came and told him they have found water and he called it Rehoboth 3. It’s a place where your enemies including things that have hitherto worked against you begin to line up with God’s purpose and agenda for your life 4. It’s a place where the Lord enlarges your coast and gives you more rooms to function and you suddenly become fruitful in the land 5. It’s a place where people begin to see the comforting hands of God upon your life and will have no choice than to make peace with you. 6. It’s a point you get to in the land as you walk with the Lord, where you begin to sit with kings and the nobles and not just mean men, in other words you will be elevated and recognized. In Gen. 26: 1-3, the Bible tells us that there was a famine in the land, besides the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar. And the Lord appeared unto him, and said, Go not down to Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: Beloved let the Lord appear to you also don’t go down yet to Egypt, He wants to show you his choice place for you in the land, He said to Isaac sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and I will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I swore unto Abraham thy father; What a great and wonderful thing for God to show a man where to dwell in the land. My beloved Brethren God wants to speak to you and show you where you will make it, a place where you will be fulfilled in the land. He ordered the footsteps of Ruth onto the farm of Boaz even after she had entered the land of Judah. Everywhere may look like it but mere looking like it is not enough it has to be where God has purposed for you. Abraham said to his nephew Lot to choose anywhere he likes in the land and he saw a green land well watered and said I think I love this place and he settled down there but we
all know what happened thereafter, the land turned out to be a city of Sodom and Gomorrah. If it is not where God has assigned to you in the land God will help you, in the case of Ruth it’s got to be the farm of Boaz and not elsewhere. The Lord said to Isaac “And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed because Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. Unfortunately a lot of people have inherited God’s anger, curses and punishment from their own fathers because they disobeyed Him. The bible says I have been young, and now I am old; I have not seen the righteous forsaken nor their seed begging bread psalms (37:25). Beloved live right and serve God and you will not be called a forsaken in the land and your Children won’t beg bread The bible says there are many devices in the heart of man but the counsel of God stands sure for the Lord knows those who are His The Lord knows those who are His own, those who serve Him, He tells them what to do to prosper in the land from time to time, He said to Isaac don’t go down to Egypt and Isaac obeyed and he sowed in the land in the same year he reaped an hundred fold and the Lord blessed him. Being a citizen of a land or mere relocating from your country of origin to wherever you are today is not a license or a ground to prosper there, I am talking about true prosperity, you must be in the will of God, His abiding presence must be with you and His comforting hands must be upon your life. The Lord said to Joshua (Joshua 1 v 3) “Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses’’. He said further in verse 5 “There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Mo-
ses so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee nor forsake thee. It was this same presence of God that enabled Joseph to excel in Egypt, in Genesis 39 v 2 the Bible tells us ‘’And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man…’ And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand. Verse 4 says And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had, he put in his hand. Again in verse 21 the bible says “But the Lord was with Joseph and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.” Pharaoh said to his servants in Gen 41:38 “Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom the Spirit of God is? In the case of Isaac It was not everyone in the land that prospered, as a matter of fact the natives of the land did not seek his good, all they cared about was strive with Isaac, they even drove him out of his initial settlement, he dug some wells also which the natives of the land strove with him about and covered. They attacked him by shutting down his business, in those days wells of water was a big business people bought water to irrigate their farms, and to give to their livestock to drink, even in our contemporary time people still sell water, In U.S we buy millions of gallons of water to drink every day. Things that happen when you are nearing your Beersheba in the Promised Land There may be a little drought to send you packing and leave the land, the devil may suggest to you to go down to Egypt. Going down to Egypt here means looking for a way to go around your challenges, it means looking for a short cut that will make you lose out in the end. He may even try to plague your mind with fear. The fear I am talking about here means FALSE EVIDENCE APPEARING REAL (F.E.A.R). Remember the 12 spies who were sent to

enesis 1:27-28 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” We are entering into the month of June, a season of Weddings and Celebrations of Marriages. We have to ask ourselves this question: “Are we ready for this giant step of beginning a new life and history with a partner”? God’s word tells us that it is the joining of flesh that makes the marriage (Genesis 2:24). Having a happy marriage, blessed by God, means more than finding the right person. It means being “the Right Person” yourself. Being the right person can be tough. Are you easy to live with, generous, flexible and willing to put your partners needs before your own? Above all, are you both mature. Maturity means knowing who you are; your talents; your weaknesses; your interests; the things you hate to do; the values that you will not compromise, the preferences that you are willing to bend on; what you want out of life and marriage. Out of this self knowledge, comes the possibilities of giving oneself freely to your husband or wife.

Or should we be seeking with all our hearts what God thinks, namely the mind of Christ? King Solomon suggests that we walk softly before God, and be careful about what we say: Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few. Ecclesiastes 5:2 Proverbs 10:19 (NKJV) offers the same advice: “In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, but he who restrains his lips is wise.” Sometimes it is better just to be quiet and listen, then to fill the air with our words. God does not despise our thoughts, or the desires of our hearts, but as Isaiah prophesied in chapter 55, verse 9, “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” King David, a man after God’s own heart, declared in Psalm 27:4,

Commitment bonds a couple together when you are tired, annoyed or angry with each other. Just remembering your vows can help to work things out, try to forgive and start again. Common Values are very important. It’s important to agree together on basic values such as putting God first, children, honesty, fidelity and prioritizing family, being open and transparent with each other, not keeping secrets from each other, loyalty and integrity. Hebrews 13:4 Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous. As Oswald Chambers once said, “If I allow any turning away from God in my private life, everyone around me suffers.” All of this is because we don’t recognize Christ’s gift of redemption, open to all that embrace Him as Savior, AND as Lord, in being the foundation upon which our marriages must be built upon and maintained. Judgement or Revival

Therefore, he cried out to the Lord,
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you. Psalm 139:17-18 Will we remain satisfied with our own thoughts and ideas, or do we long to understand what God thinks? Will our hearts be content with earthly things, or do we long for the things of
heaven? Do we long for days of heaven upon earth, for that is what revival truly is! Oh that the Lord would grant us a heart of wisdom to understand how little we know, and how much we still have to learn! As a dear missionary friend once declared, and I am sure many other experienced believers have said the same, “The older I get, the more I realize how little I know!” The Christian who is certain that he or she knows everything is an immature Christian. The more we grow up in Christ, the more we will understand that the Christian life is not about mastering a body of knowledge, or even about achieving a level of selfsufficiency. The Christian life is about learning to walk in a continual, growing dependence on Jesus Christ. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5, emphasis added)

Biblical importance Hebrew Bible In the Hebrew Bible the Jordan is referred to as the source of fertility to a large plain ("Kikkar ha-Yarden"), and it is said to be like "the garden of God" (Genesis 13:10). There is no regular description of the Jordan in the Bible; only scattered and indefinite references to it are given. Jacob crossed it and its tributary, the Jabbok (the modern Al-Zarqa), to reach Haran (Genesis 32:11, 32:23-24). It is noted as the line of demarcation between the "two tribes and the half tribe" settled to the east (Numbers 34:15) and the "nine tribes and the half tribe of Manasseh" that, led by Joshua, settled to the west (Joshua 13:7, passim). Opposite Jericho, it was called "the Jordan of Jericho" (Numbers 34:15; 35:1). The Jordan has a number of fords, and one of them is famous as the place where many Ephraimites were slain by Jephthah (Judges 12:5-6). It seems that these are the
same fords mentioned as being near Beth-barah, where Gideon lay in wait for the Midianites (Judges 7:24). In the plain of the Jordan, between Succoth and Zarthan, is the clay ground where Solomon had his brass-foundries (1 Kings 7:46). In biblical history, the Jordan appears as the scene of several miracles, the first taking place when the Jordan, near Jericho, was crossed by the Israelites under Joshua (Joshua 3:15-17). Later the two tribes and the half tribe that settled east of the Jordan built a large altar on its banks as "a witness" between them and the other tribes (Joshua 22:10, 22:26, et seq.). The Jordan was crossed by Elijah and Elisha on dry ground (2 Kings 2:8, 2:14). Elisha performed two other miracles at the Jordan: he healed Naaman by having him bathe in its waters, and he made the axe head of one of the "children of the prophets" float, by throwing a piece of wood into the water (2 Kings 5:14; 6:6). The Jordan was crossed by Judas Maccabeus and his brother Jonathan Maccabaeus during their war with
the Nabataeans (1 Maccabees 5:24). A little later the Jordan was the scene of the battle between Jonathan and Bacchides, in which the latter was defeated (1 Maccabees 9:42-49). New Testament The New Testament states that John the Baptist baptised unto repentance[8] in the Jordan (Matthew 3:5-6; Mark1:5; Luke 3:3; John1:28). This is recounted as having taken place at Bethabara (John 1:28). Jesus came to be baptised by him there (Matthew 3:13; Mark 1:9; Luke 3:21, 4:1). The Jordan is also where John the Baptist bore record of Jesus as the Son of God and Lamb of God (John 1:29-36). The prophesy of Isaiah regarding the Messiah which names the Jordan (Isaiah 9:1-2) is recounted in Matthew 4:15. The New Testament speaks several times about Jesus crossing the Jordan during his ministry (Matthew 19:1; Mark 10:1), and of believers crossing the Jordan to come hear him preach and to be healed of their diseases (Matthew 4:25; Mark 3:7-8). When his enemies sought to capture him, Je-
sus took refuge at Jordan in the place John had first baptised (John 10:39-40). Symbolic importance The Jordan is a frequent symbol in folk, gospel, and spiritual music, or in poetic or literary works. Because the Israelites made a difficult and hazardous journey from slavery in Egypt to freedom in The Promised Land, the Jordan can refer to freedom. The actual crossing is the final step of the journey, which is then complete. Because of the baptism of Jesus, water from the Jordan is employed for the christening of heirs and princes in several Christian royal houses, such as the cases of Simeon of Bulgaria or James Ogilvy.
