Born to Jewish parents in the former USSR, Igor grew up knowing he was Jewish, but with no belief in God. At age 16, Igor received the highest achievement award bestowed on a Soviet athlete, Master of Sport of the USSR in acrobatics. He graduated from Volgograd University, served in the Soviet Army and became a star of the prestigious Moscow Circus. In 1975 Igor immigrated to the United States. There he became the owner of the largest acrobatic-gymnastics school in the country. He won 4 times in a row United States National Championship and was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the American Athletes. He appeared in numerous national TV Shows including Johnny Carson, Mike Douglas and Merv Griffin. Yet despite his success and some measure of fame, Igor was dissatisfied. Once Igor stated I tried communism, I tried capitalism and I am not satisfied what have I not tried yet? At this point a friend offered him marijuana and a year later Igor was hooked on almost every drug imaginable. Two years later he lost his ability to perform then he lost his school and the down spiral began. Now, being not only dissatisfied but also nearly destroyed by drugs he had no strength to quit or find the way out. Until in 1982 through a spectacular encounter with God he came to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. It happened while gambling in Las Vegas in the Caesar Palace Hotel at 4 am. Igor came to his room laid on his bed more depressed then ever, suddenly he heard a voice, Igor I am God, you called upon me. At first Igor thought he lost his mind being an atheist he answered back, but You don’t exist, but I am, answered the voice from above. At that moment Igor remembered that 4 months ago he said the sinners’ prayer through the cry of a tele-evangelist. Apparently it meant nothing to Igor but it meant everything to God. Instantly Igor believed that it was God talking to him. Igor heard God’s voice resounding inside and outside of himself. It was not a hallucination, it was not an imagination, it was God speaking to him audibly. At once the ceiling disappeared and the brilliantly bright light appeared instead. The Light was different it was living, it was His glorious presence Now the voice came out of the Light saying, because you believed I am going to touch you and you will never stop talking about

Me. At that point the light descended and a hand came out of the light. The hand touched Igor’s right shoulder the presence of God filled the room. “Is Jesus your Son?” asked Igor quietly. “Yes!” tenderly but firmly answered the Voice of God. Yes, yes echoed loudly in Igor’s heart. Then Igor heard God on the inside saying you will never die you will be with me forever. At that moment Igor actually became born again. The joy was overwhelming; suddenly he heard heavenly music and the marrow of his bones began to sing. The date was August 1st, 1982. Igor was filled with the Holy Spirit and instantly called into the ministry of Yeshua-Jesus his Jewish Messiah. That day Igor abandoned all he was involved in and began to preach the gospel. The next month, he went to Bible College and then into Seminary. He pastored a church for 8 years and then for 6 and a half years he was a full time missionary with Jews for Jesus to the Russian Jews, until God called him out and in 2006 Freedom Ministries International was born. Today FMI reaches several different countries: Germany, Ukraine, Russia, Israel, and the USA bringing the gospel to Russian and English speaking Jews and Gentiles everywhere. Reverend Igor ministers and preaches in churches all around the United States on the Jewish roots of the Christian faith. Igor pastors two congregations in New York (Brooklyn Russian speaking and Manhattan English speaking.) These congregations are called Beit Hofesh (Houses of Freedom, in Hebrew). FMI has helped plant another congregation in Berlin, Germany where Igor’s disciple, Gregory Furman pastors successfully. Also FMI supports several congregations
Igor is a winner of the US National Championships in Acrobatics 4 times in a row, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the American Athletes. In 1982 Igor was born again and filled with the Holy Spirit. He was instantly called into the ministry of Yeshua-Jesus, his Jewish Messiah. Rev. Igor currently ministers and preaches in churches all around the United States on the Jewish roots of the Christian faith and pastors two congregations in New York. and ministries in Israel. Igor is married twenty three years to his wife Teresa who is a fellow minister with him. Together they have three children Emmanuella, Esther and Joshua. From the moment of his salvation till now Igor never stopped talking about Jesus, the Holy one of Israel, and as Igor stated that by the grace of God he never will! Reverend Igor ministers in Revivals and in the Prophetic, in Evangelistic, and Healing Crusades. If you are the
Pastor, or a Bible group leader and you would like to have Igor bring to your church or a bible class presentations like, Christ in the Passover, Christ in the Feast of the Tabernacles, the Jewish Roots of Pentecost, Igor’s miraculous testimony or any other subjects, or perhaps you would like to attend one of Igor’s services, for information please call FMI office at: 973 706 6021; until then, Shalom Aleihem that is Peace be unto you; and pray for the Peace of Jerusalem.

LaFleur Durrant
M
y name is Lafleur Durrant. I was born on the Island of St. Vincent & The Grenadines. I was born into a christian household, where my father Cecil Durrant is a pastor and my mother Charita Durrant a woman of God. As a child I was taught to love the Lord, but as I became a young woman I began to stray away from the calling that God had upon my life. At the tender age of 16 I became pregnant with my daughter Shamequa, which caused many to look down upon me. I began living a life of partying and drugs. Even though I knew that God loved me it seemed like I was too far to turn back. In the year 1998 I again became pregnant and had my second child, Christopher, but that didn’t stop my partying life style. One night while smoking with friends, or what I thought were friends, I passed out and was rushed to the emergency room, but was later dismissed from the hospital. As if that weren’t enough to help me change, I decided to smoke again that night. I continued to pass out; so I decided to have myself
examined by a doctor who told me that I had to do surgery to remove an abdominal hernia. While doing that surgery the doctors found cancer in my colon and removed it, but even after the surgery, they told me I wouldn’t make it. The pain was so much I didn’t even know myself or my family, everyone thought I was crazy. But GOD said it was NOT OVER! He healed me from Cancer and I re-dedicated my life to Christ. From then on, I vowed to sing for the glory of God. In 2009 I released my first album “God Did Not Deny Me” with all adapted songs. Such as “Savior”, “One day at a time” and “I would not be denied”. In 2010 I released my second album; titled “A Fresh Anointing”All songs were originally written by me. Such as “Soldier”, “He will work it out”, and “I’ve got you beside me”. I am currently working on my 3rd album set to be released on April 2, 2011. I always say, I don’t want to perform, I want to minister and tell the story of how God delivered me from a cancerous bed through these songs.” Praise be to God!

Bishop Dr. Michael A. Frith
Q. 1. My mother is diagnosed with cervical cancer and is scheduled for an operation. She is refusing to do the surgery thinking that she has reached the end of her life and having the surgery is a waste of time. As the only child, it is now having a toll on me. I can’t sleep at night and have lost a lot of weight as a result of this. What advice can you give me to help my mother see the need for surgery?
Answer: I am truly sorry to hear about your mom. While I understand the basic predicament, I am not fully aware of some important details, such as, your mom’s age, what stage the cancer is at, did she get a second opinion, or is she a believer etc. First of all let me say how much I empathize with you and truly sympathize with her. I can only imagine the pain, discomfort and uncertainty she might be experiencing at this time. Maybe she is not a believer and is unaware of God’s awesome power and purpose for her life. Your mother might truly feel that she has fully lived her life and have no reason to prolong it through surgery. However, with prayer, encouragement, and your full support she may reconsider her options. I do understand you not wanting to lose your mother, however, the decision to have or not have surgery is ultimately “hers” and you must allow her to decide what she thinks is best for her. You say that the ordeal has taken a toll on you and as a result you have not been sleeping and have lost weight, but let me remind you that the said ordeal must have taken a greater toll on your mother, after all, she’s the one with the cervical cancer. I suggest that you spend as much quality time with her as you can, and bear in mind that she will not always be with you. It is important also to note that one’s state of mind is a factor when considering any major surgery and mom has stated her mind. No doubt, you love your mom dearly, so pray for her and support her, and remember, with God nothing is impossible (Luke 1:37), and all things are possible if you believe (Mark 9:23). May God strengthen you and give you peace!
Q. 2. I am a Christian and have been taught that I should not be unequally yoked with an unbeliever. My fiancé is not a Christian but I love him very much and we are hoping to get married soon. I’m feeling a little uneasy within as I do not want to do anything outside the will of God. Do you think I should go ahead and get married or do you think I should wait for a Christian to come my path? Answer: I cannot personally tell you if you should or should not marry this unsaved man, only you can ultimately make that decision. What I can tell you however is that you should go with your gut feelings. The Bible does teach in 2 Corinthians 6:14 that we should not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. One of the biggest mistakes we can make as believers is to either court or be courted by an unbeliever with the hopes that we can eventually change them or influence them through a devout life after marriage. This is doctrinally wrong and often proves a disaster. Although not all cases prove to be disasters, why take a chance with your soul and state of mind? If we wouldn’t start intimate relationships with the unsaved in the first place we would not find ourselves in such predicaments later on down the road. It is indeed God’s will that we not be unequally yoked with the unbeliever, so since you said that you do not want to do anything outside of the will of God, then I think you know what to do (Romans 14:23). God will richly reward you for your faithfulness to Him and eventually send you a God-fearing, bible-believing, Holy-Ghost-filled, wife-cherishing, loving, caring Christian husband when the time is right.

Q. 3. Fornication is sin. What should I do if the man I love insists on having sex before we are married?
Answer: You say that “fornication is sin”, yet you ask what should you do if the man you love insist on having sex before you both get married. Firstly, is he saved? While you say you love him, does he really love you? If this man really loves you he will not be “insisting” on having pre-marital sex by putting pressure on you to go against the grain of what you believe. If he really loves and cherishes you he would respect you enough to wait if his intentions indeed are to marry you. Either way, you have to take a stand for what you believe in! Just don’t give him mixed signals; one minute you want to then the next minute you don’t. Take a stand and stick to it! Love and respect yourself enough not to give in to your passion or his pressures. When a man loves a woman and knows that this is the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with, he will wait…because she is worth waiting for. True intimacy between two is not only attained through sexual acts but in sharing one’s self on a deeper level. When true intimacy is reached it can satisfy one to such a degree that sex is no longer the priority. I pray that God will strengthen you to do the right thing (1 Corinthian 6:18-20).
Q. 4. The daughter I love very much has recently disclosed that she is a lesbian. I am a Christian and do not believe that God created anyone to be homosexual. Now I am so ashamed that I do not want to have anything to do with her. I am really heartbroken and do not know what to do. Can you help me? Answer: You are most correct when you say that God did not create anyone to be a homosexual. It is a spirit that has attached itself to your daughter, and she needs deliverance from it. I understand that you might feel ashamed of the lifestyle your daughter has chosen for herself, but you must also understand that your daughter is held in bondage by a strong-man right now. Whatever the reasons are that may have provided this catalyst or open door to lesbianism in your daughter’s life must first answer to who you are in her life. It is very important that your daughter understand that while you may not understand why she has chosen this lifestyle, that you still love her, not only as your child but as a person as well. It is vitally important that your daughter knows that you are not embarrassed by her, but by her actions. You have to conquer her with love, because to be indifferent or do otherwise would alienate her from you and possibly push her further into that lifestyle. It is by your Godly actions and intercession that your daughter will stand a chance for freedom from that cursed way of life. Be careful not to misrepresent God by portraying Him as an unreasonable God who cannot be touched by our human weaknesses (Hebrews 4:15 NAS). It is your duty to let your daughter see that the God you serve is a God of love and reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:19). Speak the truth in love, but don’t drive her away with condemnation, remember love covers the multitude of sins. Tell her how much you love her and will be there for her. When she realizes how much you love her unconditionally, but not her lifestyle, she may be willing to allow you to lead her to God, or to the place where she will receive deliverance and healing. I pray that the Lord will give her the grace to recover herself out of this satanic snare (2 Timothy 2:25-26) May the Lord give you wisdom, knowledge, and understanding in this matter, and may His love in you “cover” her sin (1 Peter 4:8 NIV).

These people did not pray aimlessly, nor were they distracted by stock market quotes or the latest news bulletin. Their beloved friend and apostle was to be executed, so they prayed with every fiber of their being for Peter’s release. Jesus told us to pray without ceasing and gave us examples of what is called desperate importunate prayer. The Privileges of Dwelling in Zion The Prayer for All People
T
by Rabbi, Rev. Dr. Keith Elijah Thompson, Chief-Apostle
HOU art our God who is in heaven and on earth.
Thou art mighty, powerful and strong. The standard bearer of tens of thousand; at your Word, things came into being at your command. For the Spirit of the Lord God Jehovah is upon me, for He has anointed me to preach the Gospel to all people. For in the presence of the Lord there is fullness of joy and at your right hand there are pleasures forevermore. Holy God, at your command all things were created; at your voice they stood still. Your name is everlasting, your name is eternal, your name is most Holy; you liveth and reigneth forever and ever. Selah. Your purity can be seen all around. Your crown means salvation forever and for all. Your government is the fullness of righteousness; justice is the habitation of your throne, your Robe is the fullness of zeal. The faithfulness of your council is forever true. The workings of your truth in the hearts of men make them free. Holy Father, our God Jehovah-Adonai, Yahweh; we pray for all leaders: Clergy men and women, the body of Christ, the President of the United States and his family, Congress, Judiciary branch, Senators, Governors, Mayors, Assembly men and women, Councilmen and women, District Attorneys’, Law enforcement officers, Fire-fighters, our Armed Forces, Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, Educators, Entrepreneurs. We also pray for Kings and Queens, those behind bars, those in the hospitals, our youth (our children) and those around the world, we pray for all nations and kindred. We pray in the name of Yeshua-Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God. Amen.
[Obey Consistently, Repeat Faithfully]
A Prayer Conquering the Thoughts of Life
I
by Rev. Linus Baptiste,
Senior Pastor, Global Life Prayer Faith Healing Ministries
n the name of Jesus, I take authority over my thought life. Even though I walk in the flesh, I am not carrying on my warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons. For the weapons of my warfare are not physical (weapons of flesh and blood), but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds. I refute arguments and theories and reasoning and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the true knowledge of God; and I lead every thought and purpose away captive into obedience of Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed one. With my soul I will bless the Lord with every thought and purpose in life. My life shall glorify the Father-spirit, soul and body. I take no account of the evil done to me. I pay no attention
to a suffered wrong. It holds no place in my thought life. I am ever ready to believe the best of every person. I gird up the loins of my mind, and I set my mind and keep it set on what is above –the higher things- not on the things that are on earth. Whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is anything worthy of praise, I will think on and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purpose) of His hearts. In the name of Jesus, I will practice what I have learned and received and heard and seen in Christ and model my way of living on it, and the God of peace – of untroubled, undisturbed well being will be with me, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Danger of Back-stepping
he story is told in Genesis 19 of Lot’s wife who turned a pillar of salt because of back steeping. Though she was told not to look back, she could not resist the temptation to return to the land of familiarity. She was on her way to prosperity, but refused to face the challenges of the unknown, longing to be once again associated with the works of darkness. That’s dangerous ground! Fear of the unknown often results in the desire to stay with familiarity no matter how uncomfortable we are with the situation. I call it our comfort zone; it’s the point where we think we don’t have the energy to reach for something new. Instead, we become buried in the pit of I can’t. We gave up easily when things are not going the way we them to. The Children of Israel is a staunch example. What should have taken them forty days, took them forty years! For every obstacle they came upon, they longed to return to the bandage they have escaped. Similarly, a woman in an abusive relationship may pray for the day when she can escape, but when the opportunity presents itself she refuse thinking that she may manage on her own. Hence, she remained in her situation. Back stepping often makes the situation you have re-entered worse than before. I once had a neighbor who was frequently beaten by her boyfriend. And for every time it happened, she would pack her things
and go home to her parents, but only for a short time; for as soon as the wounds were healed and the man says how sorry he was, she would back step to his home and of-course her situation would be worse than before. Finally, however, she realized the danger of back stepping and decided that enough was enough; so the last time she was beaten, she packed her things and went back to her parents, never to return. Fortunately for her, she was granted a ‘last chance’, but many you may never get that opportunity. Back stepping, whether in your physical or spiritual life, is dangerous. Jesus said in Luke 9:62 (NIV), “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.” Any situation God has taken you from, never longed to go back there, for you will certainly regret it. You will become a pillar of salt as Lot’s wife did. You will want to move on, but will find it difficult to do so. Where you are now may not be where you want to be, but if that’s where God puts you, stay there. He is bringing you on to a solid ground. He never promised you that it would be easy, but His grace is sufficient to keep you. Back stepping robs you of the joy of the present moment. You will lose sight of what God wants to do for you. He may want to bless you with the right partner, but you constantly back stepped to a former destructive relationship. Keep your eyes on the Lord

and He will lead you into the path He desires you to go. He may have broken your addiction, do not long to go back. One step backward is all the devil needs to keep you going backward. The temptation will come, but keep holding on to the arms of the Lord. Look Satan in the face and say, “Get thee behind me. I will never return from whence I came.” He will have no choice but to flee. Remember, the angels of the Lord are there to help you. So for this New Year, tell yourself that no matter how rough or how pressuring life gets, you will not back step. You will reach forward to achieving your goals. God is with you and will see you through to the end.
A Consensus of Silence

Tri-Une Healing and Restoration Ministries, Inc.
ow that the New Year is here, what will it bring us? None of us really knows the answer to that question. As I age and look back on my life, so much energy was spent on things that were insignificant or just a plain waste of time. I ask myself what are the memories my grandchildren will have of me, or for that matter even my son? Will they be drawn closer to God in any way or have learned to trust Him during difficult times? We each leave a legacy to those people who are a part of our lives. What will your legacy be? Will they remember a specific present you gave them on a certain Christmas, or will they remember you showed them the real present of Christmas – Christ? We take for granted that the people around us really know God intimately. We presume that if they go to church, they
also pray and are saved. How often do you speak to others about God and what He has done in your life? The enemy has done a good job of silencing us by telling us to not discuss politics or religion…that these are personal matters…and so we go about our business as usual while our loved ones do not benefit from the knowledge of how God has helped and blessed us. This is a great conspiracy of silence, and the cost may be the hope and salvation of those who are closest to us. As you go through the New Year, let your loved ones know of the hope you have for them for the year and every year to come because of the gift that God has given to youJesus Christ, who daily touches our lives and transforms us with His love, peace, joy and hope.
GOD SAYS – I AM
I am a God of light, and in me there is no darkness. I am a God of love, and in me there is no hatred. I am a God of hope and reassurance, so do not despair. I am a God who forgives, so do not be overwhelmed by guilt. I am a God of detail, so no need is so small that it doesn’t matter. I am a God who knew you before you were born and knows the plans that I have to use you and bless you, So, fear not.
May God continue to bless you and your family during the year, and may He be known to you in an intimate way. Yours in Christ, Rev. Trudy Daley

What is Your Resolution?
A
nother year has closed and we know that the return of our Lord is nearer than it has ever been. Does this mean that we should fold our arms and wait? Or should we continue to pursue the dreams that God Himself placed in our hearts? Many of us may think that we are too old to achieve the things we desire, there simply is not enough time; however, the Word declares that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. The Bible also tells us in Ecclesiastes that if we observe the wind we will not sow and if we regard the clouds we will not reap. We must take our eyes off of what we see in the natural and seek after what is in the spiritual. No one knows for sure when the Lord will return, so let us endeavor to make the word “wait” an action word. What does that mean? Let us wait upon the Lord, let us do His bidding and work in His kingdom. Let us be waiters indeed. Will it not be better to be found working towards God’s plan than sitting with folded arms when He comes? What is your resolution for 2011? Have you purposed in your heart to pursue by Joan Haughton your dreams and God given desires? Our first order of things should be to “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.” Matt. 6:11 What are “all these things” to you? Could it be the wisdom, knowledge and understanding to achieve your goals? Could it be open doors that no man can shut? Could it be favor with man as you have favor with God? Could it be an unexpected financial blessing? Or maybe it is a job of your dreams that will open up opportunities beyond your imagination? Whatever “all these things” mean to you, God has already provided it if your resolution for 2011 is to Build the Kingdom. Remember, God has a vested interest in our success. Our success guarantees that we will Build the Kingdom!

H
ere I was in jail again for the umpteenth time. There was nothing really different about this time except, if the cops hadn’t arrested me when they did, I’m certain I would be dead by now. It was always for the same old thing--prostitution. It all started with cocaine, the monster drug from the pits of hell. I started out using it recreationally, as a fun thing I did only at parties with “special” friends. However, soon it turned out I liked cocaine more than life itself because of the feelings of euphoria it gave me. That’s how I began using it secretly and by myself. It got out of control quickly and I had to find ways and means to get more, so I turned to prostitution. At first it was not a big deal if I slept with a guy to get high. It was a matter of supply and demand. They supplied me with what I wanted and I met their demands. In the beginning, I slept around on occasion, whenever and with whomever I chose. It was always my choice. It wasn’t long before that all changed. Because of the increase in my drug intake appetite, I was forced to sleep with guys I didn’t want to sleep with. I no longer had choices. I had a monster growing inside of me and whether I liked it or not, I had to feed it. I began my career as a full-fledged street prostitute in 1985, upon the advice of a friend. I had been frequenting bars and local pubs for a while, making small time change until Ernestine pulled me aside one day and gave me some ‘free’ advice: “Girl, let me show you how to make some real money.” Immediately I was interested, but a part of me was a bit
BRAND NEW: God’s Amazing Grace! By Evangelist Janet Taylor fearful. I had read newspaper articles, obituaries and seen movies of what often happens to prostitutes–especially the small time ones–but that wasn’t enough to keep me from giving it a try. I lucked up on my first encounter I made $250.00. “Wow,” I thought, “this is good money.” I had stolen money from my trick’s roommate. We drank a few beers, smoked some weed and I pretended I was too drunk to engage in sex. Afterall, having 250 dollars, I didn’t see any point in having sex. I decided to take my winnings and leave before I got caught. That’s what they call beginner’s luck. The devil was setting me up. Even Satan knows that the best way to catch a rat is still with cheese. Satan laid the bait and I took it. He was setting a real good trap for me. The cravings for cocaine are not really physical, mostly mental. Cocaine actually works on the central nervous system and from the euphoria it produces such a rush that the user tries to continually recapture that same feeling over and over again to no avail. However because the drug wears off so quickly, the drug addict will spend the rest of his/her life trying in vain to regain that first high. The downside of the drug is that when it wears off it produces feelings of fear, anxiety, and depression. In order to avoid
“From Prostitute to Principal” “coming down” the user will repeatedly try to capture those first feelings of euphoria. Thus the user’s tolerance increases and the user ends up having to use more and more just to keep the high going. Before I knew what hit me I was strung out. Crack cocaine took me down some of the darkest, loneliest, and most horrible streets of my life. It almost completely destroyed my life. If it had not been for the Lord who was on my side. (Psalm 124:1) My prostitution career began in Daytona Beach,

Florida. After a few years of working solo on the streets, I eventually got arrested. The local cops soon learned who I was and that I was a street junkie. Whenever I was being set up to be arrested, it only took a small offer to lure me. Most of the time I was so high, I never saw what was coming. The last time I got arrested, I was near death. My body had began shutting down. I could no longer smoke the usual amount of crack I had become accustomed to. I fell asleep in a guy’s room with small pieces of crack I had hidden in my panties. I have no earthly idea how long I was asleep but when I woke up the guy was having sex with me without my permission. When I asked him what he was doing he simply told me to go back to sleep and I did. The second time I woke up, he was searching my body for the crack I had hidden. This time I woke up completely and decided that I would not smoke the crack until I got something to eat. I had been on the streets a very long time and had become so conditioned to this lifestyle. I also was so hungry that I felt I was near death. What they guy didn’t know was that I couldn’t smoke that crack. I am certain had I tried it would have killed me. I needed food and water in a bad way. I was completely dehydrated and mal-nourished. I am sure I was near death
because my breathing was faint and shallow. I had become homeless and lived in abandoned houses, empty apartment hallways and/ or even empty cars. Once I tried to find shelter in the dead of winter in the bed of empty 18wheeler truck. It was icy cold and the wind chill factor made the temperature sub-zero. I was never able to fall asleep. I’m certain had I fallen asleep I would not be alive today. God kept me. It was while I was in jail that I got saved. I wasn’t even planning on it, but today I realize that I had had a divine appointment with the Lord Jesus. I was in the basement laundry room of the local jail folding sheets and towels when a song came on the radio that brought conviction to me. The words to the song were, “I’m sorry, forgive me, clean me up and give me another chance.” That song broke me and the floodgate of tears came through. I wept bitterly before the Lord, telling Him how sorry I was for the life I had lived. I cried out to God telling Him I knew I had wasted most of my life, but I asked Him not to let me die and go to hell. I asked God to give me one more chance and I vowed that if He saved me, I would serve Him till the day I die. There were five other women working with me in that laundry room that day. When I came to myself I was no longer folding sheets and towels. I had walked over to that radio and the reset of the room became oblivious to me. It was just me and Jesus. He visited me right there in that jail.

appy New Year! Last year wasn’t that bad after all because we all stuck around to see what this year has in store. Give yourself a pat on the back congratulating yourself and thanking God that you managed to weather the storm. Now that last year is behind you and you’ve made the infamous, “New Year Resolution,” let’s make sure you keep your resolution. Below is a list I have created called, “Win IN 8“. This list will assist you as you create the new you. 1. Only Thirty Days – Challenging, but not impossible. Just imagine, if you buckle down and commit to repetition of a habit you wish to become automatic, you will reap the rewards after. The beginning stages will reek of opposition, but once you stick to it-your thirty daysthen there will be opposition no more. 2. Write – Jotting things down on paper helps you to clearly visualize and focus on your end result. 3. Temptation – Remove all tempting things from your surroundings to prevent temptation within the first thirty days. If you’re trying to omit coffee from your diet you should throw out your jar of coffee and coffee condiments, hide the coffee pot and your favorite coffee mug. This will help you in the long run. 4. Simplicity – Start out simple. Accept that you will not be able to change your life in one day. Always remember it took you a while to develop a bad habit
»
so it will take some work to undo it. 5. Substitute – When we give up something we sometimes feel a void. If you are giving up a bag of chips at lunchtime, be sure to replace that with something healthy, perhaps a fruit you enjoy. 6. Consistency – Your habit will be easy to stick to if you remain consistent. For example, if you want to start consuming more water you may want to drink a glass of water at the same times daily, drink the same amount daily and if possible in the same location for thirty days. When your body gets a constant regiment it adapts to what you’re trying to accomplish more readily. 7. Vocalize –If a negative thought captures your mind, open your mouth and say, “Positivity surrounds me.” Things become reality after a 3 step process. One: A thought, two: Repetition and faith in that thought and three: Verbalization of that faithfully repeated thought. So if negative thoughts start to swallow you whole while you’re striving to formulate that new positive habit, force yourself to recite your positive statement out loud, “Positivity surrounds me.” 8. Imperfection – Remember we’re not perfect in our ways so allow yourself to be imperfect. Old habits can be stubborn; new habits can be hard, but not impossible to achieve. Anticipate the hurdles, but don’t become fixated on them. Do your best and you will succeed,

Some of these nutrients may also be found in other healthy foods. 7 Steps to Revival in New York City Continued from Page 9
THIRD STEP The Third Step to revival is SEEKING GOD’S face. Obviously, prayer is a petition to God, and most of us would think that prayer and “seeking God’s face” is the same thing, but they are not. Prayer is asking for something. We pray for wisdom, for health, for finances, for the salvation of loved ones, for our nation. Of course, we pray for revival. I want to summarize the 7 Steps for revival in New York City. Let us focus on them now. (1) HUMILITY (2) PRAYER (3) SEEKING GOD’S FACE (4) TURN FROM OUR WICKED WAYS (5) UNITY (6) PERSEVERANCE (7) LOVE YOUR CHRISTIAN FAMILY In the Old Testament we learn that God instructed Aaron, the high priest, to bless the people with the following words: “The Lord Bless you, and keep you” The Lord make His face shine on you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lifts up His countenance on you and gives you peace” (Numbers 6:24-26, NASB) The ultimate – what the medieval theologians called the Summum Bonum – the greatest good – is to know God and stand in His presence. This is not asking God to “do” something, it is asking for God’s very presence. We might think that this is unattainable, but if it is unattainable, why would God command it? The Bible tells us, “When Thou didst say, Seek My Face,…Thy Face, O Lord, I Shall Seek” (Psalms 27:8, NASB) God wants us to enter into a new relation with Him not just like a little child, full of requests for things from his father, but a mature son or daughter who knows the Father, is in tune with the Father’s will begins to think and act like the Father, and can take responsibility in the Father’s kingdom. God wants us to move beyond the petition stage, to a time when the ultimate good - in fact the only good – is being in communion with God. We are told in Genesis that after creation God walked in the Garden of Eden, in the cool of the evening. There He communed with the humans that He had made in His image. He talked to them and they to Him. They saw Him because there was no sin to observe their vision of Him. To “seek God’s face” is to strive to restore that mystical bond of fellowship between God and man that goes back to creation. We close this section with a beautiful verse and our beautiful Revival song “For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets
www.thegoodnewschronicles.com have said, for we are also his offspring.” (Acts 17:28, KJV) “Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful face, And the things of earth will grow strangely dim In the light of His glory and grace.” …to be continued in the next edition ******

Living a Life That Counts Written by Deborah Gooden
I
n John Piper’s book ‘Don’t Waste Your Life’ he states, “God created us to live with a single passion: to joyfully display his supreme excellence in all the spheres of life. The wasted life is the life without this passion. God calls us to pray and think and dream and plan and work not to be made much of, but to make much of Him in every part of our lives “. I want us as youth to think about this quote; How are we living in light of who God is? How are we living in light of what Jesus has done on the cross? Constantly, we as teens are presented with the opportunity to not waste our lives. In our schools, at our jobs, in our homes and in our churches, we can live a life that counts. We can be that ray of light in our schools, in sharing Christ with our friends, in not following the crowd but being the example of what a believer is. We can be the ray of light at our jobs in our work ethic and joy. We are not wasting

our lives in our homes by being obedient to our parents and in loving our family. We are not wasting our life in our church by serving and being an example to other youth. I pray that as teens we may have this passion, to make much of Jesus in every area that God has placed us. I pray this for myself and I pray this for you; stand boldly even when no one else will! If you have a relationship with Jesus Christ, I challenge you to go out in a world that desperately needs Christ and be a light, for the glory of God! “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity” (1 Timothy 4:12).

Though many women were given the chance to participate in the special activity from which the queen of the night would emerge, only one person could be crowned. It was an honor to have Miss Mandel emerging as the Queen for 2010. The crown was placed on her head by the Queen of 2009, Ms. Esther Riley, daughter of Bishop and First Lady Riley.

Q. Nancy Boetang in Staten Island, NY, asked:
Due to budget cuts, we downsized on staff salaries without having a backup plan, and now we need help and volunteers. How do we ask volunteers to offer their time without a salary?
A
Response by Valerie Samuel: A. Do not be afraid to ask for volunteers mainly this time of year because people are looking for great causes to devote time and resources to. However, know what you want them to do and include this in your printed material so they will know who you are and what your program offers. Remember, people are more likely to offer their help if there is a specific task associated with the volunteer job. What if a College Education Just Isn’t for Everyone?
harles, 17 years old, would rather sit atop a tractor than behind a desk. “He’s afraid we might push him to go to college,” his mother says. But her eyes have been opened. “Kids learn differently, and some just aren’t college material.” Long before President Obama vowed last year that America will “have the highest proportion of college graduates in the world by 2020,” the premium placed on going to college was firmly embedded in the American psyche. The case is compelling: As good jobs increasingly require more education, college is widely seen as the ticket to personal economic security and to global competitiveness. And the message has gotten through: The percentage of students who went on to college or trade school within a year of high school climbed from 47% in 1973 to 67%in 2007, Census data show. Yet there is an understanding of concern about a group of studentssometimes called “the forgotten half,” a phrase coined 22 years ago by social scientists studying at-risk young people-who, for whatever reason, do not think college is for them. It’s expressed by soul.-searching parents
BRAND NEW: God’s Amazing Grace! Continued from page 13 After a few hours working, we returned to our cell blocks. The other women working with me went back and told the others what had happened to me. They began to bet against me. They said, “We give her two weeks and she’ll be back on drugs. We give her two weeks and she’ll be prostituting again. We give her two weeks and she’ll be back in jail.” They underestimate the power of God. It has been 17 years and God has kept me. After being saved for two years, I enrolled in college fulltime and four years later I graduated Cum Laude from Winston-Salem State University

such as Carol, whose son doesn’t thrive in the classroom, It’s also expressed increasingly by educators, economists, and policy analysts, who question whether it’s realistic and responsible to push students into college even if the odds of academic success seem low. These students are swimming against a powerful tide. A small but growing number of states now require all high schoolers to take a college entrance exam. Philadelphia’s mayor has opened an office in City Hall last month to help residents get information about how to attain a college degree. Bill Gates, perhaps the world’s most famous college dropout, has poured more than $2 billion into programs and scholarships to help more students complete college. It is comforting, however to see that President Obama has included readiness for both college and careers in his discussions of education reform-most recently when he announced an overhaul of the No Child Left Behind law. What’s still getting lost though is that some argue that too many students are going to college not because they want to, but because they think they have to. What is the solution you might
with a degree in English. Two weeks later I got hired as a high school English teacher. After I was hired the school system checked my police record and learned that I had a criminal record as long as my arm. They called me in and told me to write a written explanation, which I did. I simply told the truth and concluded that I was not longer that person. Then I had to go to Raleigh to appear before the Ethics Committee. I did and when they discussed my case, the committee decided to grant me my teaching license, saying “Janet we knew you weren’t the same person; we just wanted to meet you. Best wishes on your teaching career.” I taught for 5 and one-half years before the Lord moved me along. In 2005, The Lord told me to write a deliverance book called Sleeping With The Enemy.
N
ask for students who are not college minded? THEAPPRENTICE MODEL should be instituted from as early as middle school. This model gives the students who would normally drop and fall through the cracks a chance to work their way through a check list of industry skills in a standardbased program. This program should work in tandem with the high school curriculum and a certificate given to confirm these students have met these standards. When this is done then, everyone would enjoy success and the “forgotten half” would be a phrase of the past.
This book is filed with stories of people from all over the world, who have encountered sexual immorality and perversion demons. This is a book on how to get and stay delivered from sexual promiscuity because the Lord wants His bride to be pure. This book was not written for sinners, but for the saints. The book has been on demand everywhere. I used to be homeless when I was using drugs. Then the Lord blessed me to buy a brand new home which I lived comfortably in for four years. Everything was going well and I thoroughly enjoyed the peace and comfort of my home. Then God upset my apple cart by telling me to quit my job, sell my house and move to Raleigh. Although I didn’t know what God was up to, I obeyed. I quit my job and put my house up for sale right
in the middle of the recession and moved to Raleigh. I immediately began applying for new teaching positions, but found none. There was a state hiring freeze. I was there for five months before I learned why God had brought me there. The Lord told me to enroll in graduate school to become a principal. I applied for a scholarship and it was granted. I enrolled in North Carolina Central University in August 2009. I am currently in my second year of grad school, completing my internship as an assistant principal at an elementary school. I will be graduating with a principal’s license in May 2011. The Lord has blessed me to write Sleeping With The Enemy 2 and 3. I am also in the process of recording my first CD. My testimony has taken
me all over the world. God has opened countless doors for me, that have taken me to many different countries. As an ordained Spirit-filled evangelist, I travel throughout the U.S. and abroad, preaching the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I never tire of telling people about Jesus, my Savior because He’s been so good to me. I’m on the winning team now. When I look back over my life, I often weep because of the great work God has done in my life. All the glory belongs to God. My life is nothing short of a living miracle. God has done so many great things for me. I was a crack addicted street prostitute who is now becoming a principal. Like Joseph, God has brought me from the pit to the palace. Is there anything too hard for the Lord? To God be the glory!!!

t was a magical evening at Brooklyn’s Paul Robeson Theater, just days before Christmas, when the heartwarming Christmas tale Emily and the Firefly was presented to a full house through words and music. The inspiring story, which was cosponsored by The Good News Chronicles, tells the tale of a little girl whose Christmas was made dark following a great storm that knocked out all electrical power in her tiny village. Hopes would soon be lifted, however, when, miraculously, thousands upon thousands of sparkling fireflies appeared to light up the tiny village and save Christmas. The story which celebrates Christmas also promotes the spirit of giving. There were smiles all around from children of the Salvation Army-Bushwick Family Residence who were

Through the support of Haitian-American Care Inc., Bishop Doctor Herbert Scott of Liberty Hall Cathedral of Praise, and Bishop Doctor Michael Frith of Family of Christ of God Ministries Intl, a number of children were able to attend this special performance, the event was coordinated through the assistance of Captain Travis Lock of the salvation Army, whose efforts aided in making this Christmas an extra memorable experience for attendees.
This year’s presentation of ‘Emily and the Firefly’ was the first in what is expected to be a yearly New York tradition, bringing the joy of the holiday season to audiences and children in need.
‘Emily and the Firefly’, the start of a new Christmas tradition
Among the actors and singers making an appearance was One Accord Gospel Singing Sensation, a talented trio of gospel singers, who delighted the audience with their beautiful introduction of the new Christmas hymn “It Came on the Horizon”, a composition that evoked the legend of the star, which appeared on Christmas Eve to signal the birth of Christ. “It Came on the Horizon” was one of two original hymns debuted during the performance, This year’s presentation of Emily and the Firefly was the first in what is expected to be a yearly New York tradition, bringing the joy of the holiday season to audiences and children in need. As the show’s creator, Herbert Pinnock, stated: “It is my sincere belief that, through God’s beneficence, Emily and the Firefly will bring the warmth and hope of Christmas to audiences far and wide for many years to come.”
The story of a little girl whose Christmas was saved by fireflies was well received.

Great Expectations in Marriage God wants us to lay aside some of the great expectations that we may have for our partner, and work on perfecting what God desires of us.
E
veryday that we awake, we have wants and desires. We desire that everyone would do everything that would satisfy our needs and desires. Life becomes all about “ Me and I”, and everyone has the same “me and I” syndrome. In our eyes we are entitled to our opinions and desires, in God’s eyes it may be “selfish”. God wants us to lay aside our selfish desires in our marriage. Lay aside some of the great expectations that we may have for our partner, and work on perfecting what God desires of us. Take your eyes off of what you need and expect of your partner and ask God “what can I do for my partner and my marriage”. Sometimes we have a list of things we expect in our marriage, which most times is created by the world system through media, movies, magazines, friends who pretend to have it all together, when they truly do not have it all together, and we set our standards and desires for our relationship based on other people’s opinions. Remember this, God made every one of us uniquely, and different, there is no one else in this world exactly like you, and so, every marriage is absolutely different and has different requirements. Your marriage blueprint is unique and cannot be compared
to any other. God would give each individual the eyes, the discernment, to see and know what is required in their own marriage. Some of us complain daily about our partners, about what they are doing wrong or not doing right: “he doesn’t take me out to dinner; he doesn’t buy me flowers often enough, he doesn’t spend enough time with me; she doesn’t make time for me; she doesn’t understand me and my needs; she doesn’t give me space.” These are just a few of the complains we hear everyday. This is what is most important, you know your husband or wife loves you, inspite of the fact that he or she doesn’t do everything right. You may say “I’m tired of this marriage ‘cause he or she doesn’t make me happy any more, he or she doesn’t do this, this and this like they use to do before, and you say I’m done I’m getting a divorce and starting a new marriage. Here is what the devil will do for you to deceive you: you will get a man who would take you out to dinner four nights a week in the beginning, and two years later it’s one night a week because the other three nights, he is taking another person out to dinner. The devil is a Liar! Then you say, I should have stayed with my husband
because he didn’t do all the fancy stuff, but he loved me even though I am not perfect,. He didn’t take me out to dinner weekly, or buy me flowers but he also didn’t cheat on me. Brothers and sisters lay aside you selfish desires, lay aside selfrighteousness, since we are all sinners seeking to become like Jesus. Instead, let your marriage be a threefold cord, with God being the headship over yourself and your partner.” The more you become selfless in your marriage, God will be quick to work on your behalf and perfect your marriage. To be “Selfless” is to be like Jesus. Jesus loves us unconditionally even though we don’t do all the things He wants us to do. If we keep our eyes and heart fixed on God and His Word, our minds will be renewed and our sight will be restored to see our partners in love and beauty like God sees us. God looks at our heart and He forgives our actions. That’s what we need to do in our marriage to have a blessed marriage. One of my prayers to God is “God, show me the mess that I need to fix in me; Lord show me the filth and the dirt in me and clean me up.” If you allow yourself to be a willing vessel for God to clean up your filth, and purify us, everything around us will be purified, thus saith the Lord. With purification
comes power . If we continue to keep our eyes on God and allow Him to work on us while He is cleaning us, He will throw in a bonus and clean up the people we are joined to: our partners and family, without us saying or doing anything. If we allow God to show us how messed up we are on the inside we will turn our eyes away from looking at our partner’s inefficiencies and mistakes and work on us. If you speak to some of the couples who made 50 and 60 years of marriage, you would find that their demeanor is humble and free because they choose to lay aside their selfish desire and love each other the way they needed to be loved with all their flaws, unconditionally. Lay aside Your Way and take up his will; stop feeding Your Will, Start feeding His Will. Marriage is hard work. ****** To order books by Bettyann Berazzah: Marriage Scriptures – “What God Had Joined Together, Let No Man Put Asunder” Matthew 19:6 - call 347 229 7016

Spiritual Warfare: Overcoming Household Wickedness (Part II) (Continued from last issue)
O
ne of the strategies of household wickedness is what is called “Point of Contact”. What they look to do is to take anything that belongs to you and use it to do evil against you. Examples of“point of contact” are nail clipping, underwear, hair, clothes, picture, pen. Some even go to the extent of using personal hygienic articles very personal to you. What they usually do is take any of these things to an obeah man, a juju man, a psychic, voodoo or Santeria man and ask them to put a curse on another person. They do rituals with these things to put a curse on the one they want to harm. They
put certain sicknesses, certain blockages and evil things in the life of the one they want to hurt or harm. When you know you are in a hostile environment, you need to be very careful. When you are in a place where you are not loved, please be very careful. I heard a story of a woman who took a group picture at work during the Christmas party and put the picture on her desk. Someone on the job, who didn’t like her, cut out her face from the group picture. They took it somewhere to have a curse put on her. You need to be led by the Spirit of God in all that you do. Just because they are your family members, it does not mean you always have to tell them what’s

going on in your life. Ask God. Let Him lead you. When you do, you may be surprised that when you want to share the good news of an interview or the new college admission or job, that the Holy Spirit may give a check in your spirit, not to call or share with that particular person or people. You may say, “but that’s my family. I am very happy and I need to share with them.” The Holy Spirit may say, “don’t call.” When you are led by the Spirit of God, you will be saved from all kinds of trouble. The people that you have trusted, the people that you think have your best interest at heart may not. Sometimes they are the ones going behind your back and doing evil against you. This is not supposed to turn you into a suspicious person - that you start to suspect everyone around you. Not at all. This is just for you to be aware that this is real and be prayerful and sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Don’t just assume that because you sleep in the same bed that they have your best
interest at heart; that because you are business partners mean that they have your best interest at heart; that because you are in the same church mean that they have your best interest at heart; don’t assume that because they smile with you that they are truly happy with you. They may not be...so be led by the Spirit of God. Who do you allow into your space? Who do you allow into your bedroom? Who do you allow your children to spend the night with? Do you know them? What kind of spirit do they have? Do they love God or are they agents of Satan just sent to you to harm you, kill, steal and destroy you.
Examples of “points of contact” are hair, clothes, picture, etc...
EMPOWERMENT
GOAL SETTING By Paula Holder, MBA
A Formula for Successful Goal Setting:
I have listed 7 steps for guidance to ensure the measurable results of goal setting. (1) List the 5 things that you have accomplished that you are already proud of. This will help you to assess your current financial position and the need to set goals for your future. (2) Write a list of 10 specific goals that you wish to achieve within a specific time frame. You will also find that the 1st long term goal of making a million dollars or Getting out of debt will be related to the other 9 short term goals. For time management, use a daily
planner, writing and check listing your progress on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. (3) List 5 tasks related to each goal and set a deadline, which will help you to simplify your goals. (4) Identify obstacles that would distract you from completing same on a daily basis such as excuses in your mind telling you that you cannot do it. (5) Identify the people that you want to work with and network with more people until you find the key persons that would catch your vision while they are building theirs. Focus on how you can help more people. (6) Constantly review and redefine your goals and
measure your progress. The model should be based on the 6 days to labor and on the 7th day rest and reflect. (7) Analyze what is in it for you personally (philosophically) as well as economically. A wonderful example is the question posed by Jim Rohn’s mentor, who told him at age 25 when he was broke, “Why don’t you set a goal to become a millionaire, for what it will make of you when you achieve it? The rationale is that making the million is inevitable if the formula for success is followed, but you should count the costs if you are just driven to accumulate wealth, such as not violating your principles to become rich, nor compromising relationships.
By Pastor Femi Akojenu I have heard about people who have brought in a stranger into their lives. They just wanted to help, but they didn’t know that the person they were helping was an agent of Satan. Be very Careful.

SERIES In conclusion, if your goal is to become debt free in 2011 or to make a million dollars, follow the model and give priority to Developing SELF. Evaluate your skills and abilities and include the goal to read more and be trained in the skills that you already have to increase your value in the marketplace. ****** FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT SERIES is by Paula Holder, MBA/ Evangelist Executive Director, Caleb Health and Wealth Institute 162 Fifth Avenue #3, NY NY Empowerment Center4117 Avenue J/ 42nd Street, Brooklyn, NY – Mondays 7pm Call 516 668 5507 for Personal Development Seminars and Financial Workshops.

Community Weight Loss Challenge
O
Great Way To Lose Weight in 2011
besity rates among all groups in society – irrespective of age, sex, race, ethnicity socioeconomic status, education level or geographic region have increased markedly. It is time to stop the rapid growth of this obesity epidemic. In an attempt to reverse the obesity rate as well as its related diseases, one person at a time, a local area resident has launched a 12 week non-profit course that offers tips on nutrition and exercise, along with the flair of competition, which is popular today. Lenworth Raymond is a personal wellness coach who runs the Weight Loss Challenge. The program gives us a chance to advertise and help fight the battle of obesity by educating people about a better overall lifestyle. The goal is for people to feel good and look great and maintain a healthier lifestyle. The cost to join the 12-week nutrition program is only $35.00 for the 12 week program and $25 of each fee collected will be paid out in cash and prizes to the top 3 winners. Specific rules will be in place to keep everyone consistent. Fail to weighin? Pay a $5 fee, as well as a $1 fee per pound gained. These fees will be added to the cash payout. Lenworth says “People swarm to our classes because they love the accountability
and it really helps them to stay on track. They totally enjoy the fun atmosphere, the people, the short discussion and the online site with weekly topics shared at each class.” Participants can use any weightloss program they’d like, whether it is Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Herbalife or a customized plan. They will work with each person to find what works best for them or if they need guidance, they can help. All participants will weigh in each week, and the three with the highest percentage of weight loss at the end of the program will split the monies collected. It is based on percentage which makes it equal competition for men and women. “Our Goal is to encourage people to lose weight and inches and get healthy by eating a healthy level of protein and calories each day and teaches the benefits of good nutrition and exercise. Seating is limited, so call! Come! Join!” Lenworth says. The Community Area Weight Loss Challenge begins: The week of January 9, 2011 The classes are held at North Bronx SDA Church. For Information AND to PreRegister Call: Lenworth at 646-2258662.
