Truth Without Lies - The REAL MEANING of Christmas
T
he hustle and bustle of this holiday season can bring back so many memories. I can remember as a little girl the thrilling excitement of Christmas morning with all the gifts and toys I knew I’d find under the Christmas tree. The countdown to the last day was usually the hardest. Oh, how time would stand so still while eager little hearts and sounds of giggles filled the air each night. Christmas was the happiest time of the year for me. What I remember most is the waking up in the wee hours of the morning with my older brother, running down the stairs while keeping careful not to trip, and seeing who can hit under the tree to grab the first present. Mother had a gift for embellishing a Christmas tree. Her adornment was so beautifully and skillfully put together it made us marvel every time we glanced at it. Its splendor of dainty grace and the delicate o r n a ments that
hung on each limb sparkled throughout the entire home, while daddy’s music filled the air with holiday joy. It made one want to live in that moment of beautiful serenity forever. I grew up believing in Santa Claus, reindeers, and elves. I believed in the North Pole and fairies and hoped that I had been a good girl that year so that Santa would bring all the lovely things I had put on my Christmas list. But I remember the disappointing feeling I felt the night I believed I had missed Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer by the seconds. He had come into my bedroom, given me a kiss and then flew away, so I was told. If I had just awakened a tidbit sooner, I could have beheld one of the most glorious miracles of time. My heart was broken. Over the years, I have learned that Jesus and Santa Claus cannot share the same space, no, not even for a moment of what appears as a harmless and cute flight of the imagination. The Lord said that He will not share His glory with anyone or anything. He must be first, for He will come second to none. How then can we as believers contribute or allow from our pulpits the idea that Santa Claus really exist?
by PASTOR NARDA GOODSON We all know that Jesus was not born on December 25. However, it is the date that the world has chosen to commemorate the celebration and birth of our King. But you’ll find that even theologians will argue if this holiday should be celebrated at all. My answer to that is simply this. According to 1 John 1, Jesus came to earth and lived among men. The real meaning of Christmas is rejoicing and celebrating in the fact that God gave His only Son so that we could have eternal life. The greatest gift ever given to man was the gift of salvation. If it hadn’t been for His birth, there would be no Christmas. So while there is nothing wrong with the celebration, remember up and foremost that Jesus is the reason for the season. ****** Pastor Narda Goodson Narda Goodson Ministries Anointed Arrows Productions , P.O. MINISTER GODDY GODDY
G
ospel DJ, MR GODDY GODDY, is committed to doing whatever it takes to win souls for the kingdom of God. He realized the power of the DJ ministry and is using Reggae Music to take the message of salvation to the inner-cities across Jamaica. He is committed to the God-given task with more zeal in light of spreading the “wrong message” in his secular days. Mr. Goddy Goddy was born Howard Reynolds on November 15, 1970 in Kingston Jamaica where he grew up in the Marverly and Orange Grove communities in Kingston. He attended church on Sundays at a local church as this was custom of his family. At age 14, while attending Papine Secondary School, Howard started his secular music career as “Snake Man”, recording at age 15 “Old People” for the famed producers, Sly & Robbie. In 1993, he signed with the Black Scorpio Label where he recorded his first major single ‘Mr. Dynamite’. In 1997, Howard was enjoying success as secular DJ but eventually grew uncomfortable with the Dancehall environment and especially
with the lewd lyrics that he often chanted. One night while watching a program on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), a great conviction came over him and he found himself asking God for forgiveness on his knees. He decided to give up his secular career and started attending a local church and studying the word of God. On April 1999 he fully surrendered all to Jesus at the altar of Cavaliers New Testament Church and was subsequently water baptized. In November 2000, GOODY GODDY, released his debut album” Goddy Goddy” which has been well received. In 2001, Mr. Goddy Goddy was the recipient of the XNEWS “Best Gospel Artist for 2000’’ award.

A positive attitude, a positive mind, a positive smile can wake up your dimples; A positive man, with a positive plan is only a distance from making life simple; Bring your positivity and dump them in a place; among a group of people with hearts that cares, For wasting time, when time is slipping away, is only a moment from living in vain. Create your own style, create your own flavor; the wheel of opportunity never stop turning; Providing blessings for the ambitious, in a world where dubiousness controls. Stand up and be blamed for your mistakes; be brave to step forward and embrace corrections; For only a man with an enduring spirit, will stay focus when the traffic is not moving, Or steps out in the cold to pursue his dreams even when its cloudy. Before Thanksgiving and throughout the rest of the year, to the first month of January we are bombarded with food, namely the sweets. Who can resist? Yes we have diabetes; we need to lose weight. The Holidays are Here Eat To Your Heart’s Content order of the day. There is anxiety and stress that comes with the anticipation of good times with family and friends. “How am I going to resist mother’s corn meal pudding or auntie’s Oxtail that she insists must have the oil swimming in it? We moan. However, there is no need to resist. The holidays are a time when we get together with loved ones in celebration. At this time you should not feel any guilt. A common myth about the holiday season is that most people gain anywhere from five to ten pounds from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day, due to the vast array of tasty treats offered during this time. However, according to the American Dietetic association “research shows that the average weight gain in America during this time period is only about one pound! Additionally, it is estimated that only 5% of people actually gain the five to ten pounds during the holidays. There are certain considerations we should have however, for eating healthy during this time.
• Use smaller plates if available when at a buffet-style party, as most family gatherings and work occasions are. • Try eating a healthy snack before going to any affair to prevent over-eating. . • Remember that beverages contain calories as well; home-made punches, and chocolaty beverages tend to have sneaky calories that you may not bargain for. Sip them to avoid drinking too much of them. • Watch your portion sizes and take small “tastes” of high fat dishes. • Please continue your exercise routine during this time. The text above suggests that we should “honor God in our families and among our friends. We eat with them; we share together the bounties of Providence; and God designs that we should honor Him when we partake of His mercies, and that thus our daily enjoyments should be sanctified by a constant effort to glorify Him”. _ Barns commentary.

Depressed? ‘Tis the Season to Be Jolly
‘T
is the season to be jolly, so why are you depressed? Maybe you’re not depressed, but you may know someone who is. Although Christmas, the month of December is supposed to be the most blissfully celebrated month for Christians and all believers in Christ Jesus worldwide, statistics show that this time of the year brings forth heightened cases of depression, the major cause of suicide. Could it be the weather, a lack of finances, a flashback in time as you recall an emotionally debilitating encounter, the death of a loved one, loneliness from being single, feelings of guilt or some other emotionally taxing situation that has you mentally enslaved? Either way all instances are self destructive ultimately leading to nothing more than physical, mental and worst of all spiritual paralysis. Our good Lord in his infinite wisdom knew that we
By: Dr. Sophia Mattis, MD, MHSA
would face multiple trials and tribulations; so in preparation he gave us the bible. The bible helps to keep us from entering into that downward spiral of depression by providing us with words of support in times of distress. God never promised us a life without challenges, he promised us a life with him standing by our side giving us the strength to persevere and endure through our present storm when we have faith in him. Depression is a chronic illness affecting not just the mind, but also the body. With a multi-symptomatic presentation, depression can be quite debilitating. Be alert to symptoms of: chronic pain, fatigue, feelings of hopelessness, increased or decreased appetite and/or sleep, loss of interest in once enjoyed activities, irritability/frustration, decreased sex drive, inability to concentrate or indecisiveness, fixation on past failures, frequent
thoughts of death, suicide or dying and etc... The list is quite extensive. There isn’t a universal pattern of symptoms for sufferers of depression since depression affects each person in various ways. However some commonalities which are shared among depressed persons are: feelings of sadness/unhappiness, change in appetite and/or sleep, and tiredness/fatigue. According to the National Institute of Mental Health there are more than 20 million people in the U.S. suffering from depression each year with this number increases annually. Twice as many women are diagnosed than men, but this may be attributed to the fact that women seek medical attention more often than men. One in six persons in the U.S. will suffer from depression at some time during their life with the usual age of onset being in the late 20’s. Sadly enough only 50% of those persons will seek medical attention. Geographically, the
Asian and Southeast Asian countries have the lowest rate of depression while Western countries hold rankings as one of the regions with higher occurrences. So if you’re looking to relocate and you wish to be in a, “Happy” place, you may want to consider moving to the Southeast Asian region. Alterations in one’s hormones, physical changes in the brain (biological differences), neurotransmitter imbalance (serotonin/dopamine), inherited traits and life events are all predisposing factors associated with depression. Other conditions that can cause depression include but are not limited to: Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) – (changes in mood pertaining to sunlight/ season). Bipolar disorder (mood swings between extreme highs & lows), Cyclothymia (milder form of bipolar
disorder), Dysthymia (less severe but more chronic form of depression), Schizoaffective disorder (schizophrenia + mood disorder), Postpartum depression (depression 6-8wks after delivery) and Adjustment disorder (severe emotional instability following a difficult life event). If you think you may be suffering from depression you can log on to http://www. mentalhealthchannel.net/ HealthProfiler/depression.shtml and take the self assessment test. Although this test offers a good baseline assessment it is merely suggestive and in no way is it a definitive diagnosis. Cont’d on page 13

The Privileges of Dwelling in Zion
The Prayer for All People
T
by Rabbi, Rev. Dr. Keith Elijah Thompson, Chief-Apostle
HOU art our God who is in heaven and on earth.
Thou art mighty, powerful and strong. The standard bearer of tens of thousand; at your Word, things came into being at your command. For the Spirit of the Lord God Jehovah is upon me, for He has anointed me to preach the Gospel to all people. For in the presence of the Lord there is fullness of joy and at your right hand there are pleasures forevermore. Holy God, at your command all things were created; at your voice they stood still. Your name is everlasting, your name is eternal, your name is most Holy; you liveth and reigneth forever and ever. Selah. Your purity can be seen all around. Your crown means salvation forever and for all. Your government is the fullness of righteousness; justice is the habitation of your throne, your Robe is the fullness of zeal. The faithfulness of your council is forever true. The workings of your truth in the hearts of men make them free. Holy Father, our God Jehovah-Adonai, Yahweh; we pray for all leaders: Clergy men and women, the body of Christ, the President of the United States and his family, Congress, Judiciary branch, Senators, Governors, Mayors, Assembly men and women, Councilmen and women, District Attorneys’, Law enforcement officers, Fire-fighters, our Armed Forces, Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, Educators, Entrepreneurs. We also pray for Kings and Queens, those behind bars, those in the hospitals, our youth (our children) and those around the world, we pray for all nations and kindred. We pray in the name of Yeshua-Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God. Amen. [Obey Consistently, Repeat Faithfully]
Prayer Overcoming Intimidation by Rev. Linus Baptiste,
Senior Pastor, Global Life Prayer Faith Healing Ministries
F
ather, I come to you in the name of Jesus, confessing that intimidation has caused me to stumble. I ask Your forgiveness for thinking of myself as inferior, for I am created in Your image, and I am Your workmanship. Jesus, You said that the kingdom of God is in me, therefore, the power that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in me and causes me to face life with hope and divine energy. “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”
Lord, you said that You would never leave me or forsake me, therefore, I can say without doubt or fear that You are my helper, and I am not afraid of anything that mere man can do to me. “Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.” “If God be for me, who can be against me?” I am free from the fear of man and public opinion. Father, You have not given me a spirit of timidity, cowardice, craven and cringing and fawning fear, but You have given me a spirit of power, love and of a calm and well balanced life through Christ who gives me the strength. Amen

Faith: A Pre-requisite To Your Dream
I
must have been about nine years old giving my mother a lot of trouble, when she lifted her eyes towards the sky and said, “Lord, give me faith.” My response to her was, “But Mama, faith will give you the same problem!” She was hysterical as she realized I was referring to my cousin Faith. Many times when we are faced with problems we prayed, “Lord, please give me the faith and courage to go through this.” But here we are, asking God for something that He has already given us! It is stated that, “…to every man was given the measure of faith.”(Romans 12:3) There was no partiality in the distribution of faith. Everyman was given his correct measure. You can use the little you have to remove mountain. “For if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto the sycamore tree, be thou plucked up by the root, and…it should obey you.” As a result, any Godgiven dream that you have, can be brought to fruition. In other words, no matter where you are in society, your educational background, your ethnicity, the negative label you have worn throughout life, or your financial situation, you can have that which you set out to achieve using the little faith you were given. Hebrews 11 v1 says “Faith is having the confidence that you will receive that which you have asked for.” The key is that you must
Written by Maizie Vassell maizierose@hotmail.com
have the CONFIDENCE. You must BELIEVE. Once you start to waver and have doubts, you will not receive that which you have asked for. “For a double minded man is unstable in all his ways.”(James 1:8) You must believe. Mark 11 v 24 says, “Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray believe that ye have receive them and ye shall have them.”
YOUR SPIRIT
“But without faith it is impossible to please him for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that he is the rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.”(Hebrews 11:6) You cannot fulfill your dream without faith. It is a pre-requisite for any successful outcome. ‘Faith without work is dead.’ You can’t say you have faith and sit down and do nothing. You must go in the direction of your faith. Some people may argue that it makes no sense to have faith in something that you know will not work. But that’s the ‘catch!’ If you don’t believe that it will work, then it will not work. Conversely, if you believe that it will work even when there is no evidence, then it will work. For instance, you want to go to college but have not seen the first cent; if you believe that God will supply your needs, then college you will go. Hence, instead of sitting down doing nothing, apply to the college that you desired to go. It will surprise you where the money comes from. God is the God of the universe and will supply your needs. So even when the path looks very dark and you feel like giving up, don’t give up. Faith does not depend on our perception. You do not have to see it to believe it. Put faith to the test. Be 101% sure that things will come through for you. Faith is a pre-requisite to your dream. Put it to the test and watch things start happening in your life.

all these areas has been affected by the amount of nurture and affection we received from our parents or care givers. A father is very significant in calling his children’s spirit to life through his love and discipline and helping his children to learn to set good boundaries so they can function in the world. A mother’s nurture, affection, and unconditional love are significant for a child’s spiritual development as well. Without these things from fathers and mothers, our spirit does not become fully functioning and our ability to experience God is diminished. Perhaps you have not received all that you needed to be fully functioning. With God’s help, you can begin to receive what you need through prayer and the nurture and support from others. This organization has been around for about 20 years, yet not many of us know about it. This past weekend, I attended a first time homebuyer workshop sponsored by the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America. I was surprised and pleased to see that more of us can afford to get homes than we know. The word teaches that the people perish for lack of knowledge. If you have a job for two years or have been in business for at least that long, there is a huge possibility that NACA can put you in your own home with 100% financing - no money down and no closing costs required! by Joan Haughton For those who own homes already but are struggling to pay the mortgage or facing foreclosure, NACA also has programs to assist you. In many instances mortgage payments are slashed in half or close, allowing you to keep your home. NACA is national which means that no matter what state you live in, there is a program for you. When you get a moment log on to www.naca.com or give them a call at 1-888-302-6222. Remember, God has a vested interest in our success. Our success guarantees that we will Build the Kingdom!

n November 12, 2010, the Queens Liberty Hall Cathedral of Praise Church hosted their annual Banquet and dinner, providing both spiritual and physical food for the body and soul of those who came out to celebrate. This rich event was well put together and well attended. Pastor Avis Goulbourne, Host Pastor of the Queens Liberty Hall Church moderated the evening’s function. members of the Brooklyn Church, in addition to many other Ministries around NY, were a part of this fantastic, spirit- filled evening. The message was delivered by Sister Jasel Smith, a young prospective minister of God from the Head Quarters of Liberty Hall Cathedral of Praise, Brooklyn. She spoke from Luke 18:21 and elaborated the theme, “Who Is This Man.” She highlighted the point that there is nothing ordinary about Jesus. “His birth and death were extraordinary,” she stated, “and although Christ laid down his life for us, and many are still asking the question who is this man.” The young woman of God challenged the audience to live a life of holiness before God; to love one another and to prepare themselves to be a part of that church which Jesus is coming back for, which is a “Church without spot or wrinkle”.. Only a person without appetite could leave this function empty. There was no scarcity of the spiritual or physical food. In closing Minister Kenneth Allen soothe the souls in the audience with songs from his CD. maintain the interest and vibrancy of the audience which makes every moment of the function enjoyable and uplifting. Missionary Paula Hudson, with her high note soprano moved the audience as she rendered, “How Great is Our God.” Likewise, Sis Janice Goulbourne, as well Sis Adrian Mattis-Jacob gave intense minutes of praise dance. The blessings continued with renditions from other visiting churches. Please consult your healthcare provider if your test results sway towards signs of depression or if you have any questions after testing. If seeking traditional treatment, your doctor may prescribe a: Serotonin, Serotonin and Norepinephrine, Norepinephrine and Dopamine reuptake inhibitors, Atypical/Tricyclic antidepressants and/or Monoamine Oxidase inhibitors. On the other hand, non-traditional/alternative treatments include: yoga, meditation, acupuncture, massage therapy, exercise, proper diet and rest, consumption of approximately 8-10 glasses of water daily and a diet consisting mainly of fruits, vegetables and nuts. Popular herbal solutions include: St. John’s wort, SAMe, Omega3-fatty acid and Rhodiola. As for me, my first step in healing is always to rely on the teachings of our lord. Some supportive biblical verses entail: “This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.” ~ Psalm 118:24. “I shall not die but live and declare the works of the Lord.” ~ Psalm 118:17 “He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” ~ 1 John 4 Let these powerful bible verses become second nature, repeating them verbatim and making them your mantra. One of my favorite verse states, “The power of life and death are within the tongue, so you speak it so shall it be whether for life or death.” ~ Proverbs 18:21 Remember you are not powerless! Speak life into your situation or maybe even a friend or a loved one’s situation knowing without a shadow of a doubt that you have the power to make manifest all things which are pleasing to God. I pray that you have a very Merry Christmas. So until we meet again, be blessed always and may God be your guide as angels walk by your side. ******* Dr. Sophia Mattis, MD, MHSA Founder/ CEO of Just One Step to Women’s Health, LLC www.justonestep1.com (954) 536-9444

By BISHOP M. M.HENDRIKSON
uring the Billy Graham Crusade in Madison Square Garden in New York City in 1957 they sang a famous song called “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus.” The first stanza of this sang went like this:
Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim In the light of His glory and grace.
– That is the best definition of revival that I know. Heaven with its glory and grace invades our human condition, and in the light of God’s Glory the allure of the world with its pleasures and material possessions loses its hold on us while our hearts are truly satisfied with the presence of God. As we draw closer to God, the sin in our lives, which we first accepted as normal, becomes distasteful, and then loathsome. In revival, God first refines and purifies His people, then He fills them with his power, then he places in their hearts, His love and compassion, for those who are lost without God and without hope in the world. In revival, Christian people are not trying to work up courage to testify about a historical figure they learned from the Bible, they radiate the knowledge of the one whose power is continually filling their lives.
are equipped with gifts of the Holy Spirit and witness boldly about the wonderful works of the Lord Jesus. During the past century in the United States, the term “revival” has normally meant a church-sponsored evangelistic meeting during which a visiting pastor or traveling evangelist will speak at special services for a week or two, and those in attendance are asked either to make a first-time decision for Christ or to rededicate their lives to Him. Although this type of meeting can indeed bring once true Holy Spirit revival that can serve to transform society, usually its measure is very simply the number of people whose lives are changed by responding to the evangelists’ appeals. The Revival that America is crying
The Revival that America is crying for does not consist of good or even inspired evangelism. The revival we pray for transforms lives, empowers pastors, electrifies churches, and brings the reality of God to the entire population. Revival normally begins among God’s people, but soon it spreads and affects society. The power of God is so strong that prostitutes, drug addicts, alcoholics and those addicted to gambling, pornography and lust are set free and gloriously converted. In China during the Boxer Rebellion, missionaries huddled together to pray for God’s intervention before an angry mob rushed their building to kill them. Later, when they inquire why the mob had suddenly slunk away in fear, they were told. ”Your building was surrounded by flaming warriors with raised swords.” Yes, in true revivals angels visit, young men see visions, and old men dream dreams. In true revivals, God’s people
for does not consist of good or even inspired evangelism. The revival we pray for transforms lives, empowers pastors, electrifies churches, and brings the reality of God to the entire population. What then are the seven steps to revival? God gave the formula to Solomon, King of Israel, about 960 B.C. God said, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways: then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14, KJV). The First Step to Revival is Humility. The first sin ever recorded was pride.
Satan declared, “I will exalt my throne above the stars of God” (Isaiah 14:13b, KJV). Humility is the reverse of pride. The focus of pride is what “I will” do, my way, my will, my plan, my concept of God, my concept of righteousness. Just like Satan at the beginning, we want to exalt our throne. God says a certain action; we disagree. We justify ourselves. We point to our friends who do it. Everyone in society accepts this conduct – how unfair of God to criticize it. A line in a popular song goes “How could a love be wrong that feels so right?” Why could something that we enjoy so much be wrong? “If she is unhappy with her husband, what is wrong about breaking up her marriage so she can be happy with someone else?” My neighbor tries to hurt my dog. What is wrong with putting a few dents in his car in return? Then there is pride of family, pride of finance and accomplishment, pride of
DECEMBER 2010 nationality, pride of religious affiliation, and pride of knowledge and education. Before God, we are all alike, weak sinners. We must realize that our pride before God is like pus filled sores on our body. We begin to smell. We must ask God to forgive us of the pride in our lives in whatever form it has taken. We start revival prayer by humbling ourselves, then throwing ourselves on the mercy of God, asking for His forgiveness. Never should we resist God or insist that He is wrong and our concept of righteousness is correct. In the New Testament, we read that John the Baptist, speaking in God’s name, called the people to repeat and be baptized as a cleansing from sin. The Bible gives this amazing assessment of what the people did in response, they “justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John” (Luke 7:29b, KJV). We can either justify God or justify ourselves. One attitude leads to revival, the other to spiritual darkness.

Bishop Dr. Randolph Alexander Austin was born in St. Lucy, Barbados, West Indies. In 1959, at the age of seventeen, he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and became a member of the United Holy Church of America. Bishop Austin met and married his beloved wife Minister Esme Austin in February of 1965 and fathered three children, Annette, Gabriel and Duanne. The Lord later extended his family and now he is the grandfather of five. Bishop Austin migrated to the United States in June 1967 and joined the ministry of the United Holiness Church of Faith, under the leadership of the late Bishop A. S. Beckles. He was ordained to the gospel ministry in June of 1967. Bishop Austin returned to Barbados in 1970 on a mission for the Lord. He was engaged in crusades services where many came to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Out of these crusades a church was planted for the glory of God. Bishop Austin returned to the United States and continued his ministry with the United Holiness Church of Faith.

Bishop Randolph Austin
In 1977 by the leading of the Holy Spirit and vision from the Lord, Bishop Austin founded and served as Senior Pastor of the Mount Olive Pentecostal Church of Faith, Inc. As a visionary pastor, Bishop Austin enrolled in the United Christian College of New York in 1985 and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Theology and Christian Education and a Masters in Theology. He continued his education with the International Theological Seminary of California where he earned a Doctorate in Theology and Philosophy. Bishop Austin saw the need for the training and equipping men and women with the Word of God. He followed the leading of God and established the Mount Olive Bible Institute and Seminary. Hundreds of people were taught and became educated men and women of God. Bishop Dr. Randolph A. Austin was ordained as Bishop on October 18, 1992. He has been charged with the oversight of other affiliated churches, including the Mt. Olive French congregation, located at 497 New York Avenue, Brooklyn, NY with a burning desire to see souls born for the kingdom of God. Bishop Dr. Austin has traveled evangelizing in other countries such as England, Scotland, Canada, St. Croix, Barbados, Jamaica, Trinidad, Guyana and other cities in and out of the United States. In March 2009 Bishop Austin traveled with Bishop E. Hernandez, President of the Spanish American International Chaplain Association of Florida to El Salvador. a Radio and Television Ministry, Youth Ministry, Women’s Empowerment Ministry, SENSE Ministry (Sisters Encouraging Sisters in Excellence), Dance Ministry, Children’s Church Ministry, Missionary Ministry, a Deacon Board, Usher’s Board, Pastor’s Aid Ministry and a few others. There is also the Mount Olive Bible Institute and Seminary, which is a school where members and non-members can come to further their education in the Word of God. In 2008 the ministry advanced to offer services to the community by having the Mount Olive Daycare Center to meet the needs of the community.
What was your very first response to this calling? When I was first called to be in ministry, my very first response was that I needed some time to seek God. I wanted to speak to the Lord so that I could be under his leading, so that my steps would be ordered by the Lord. What is your vision for the church? At this point, my vision is to see the church move to a higher level. I want it to be more effective in the community, as opposed to the church being simply enclosed within these four walls. Based on your vision, have you accomplished everything you envisioned? If no, what else would you like to see birthed out? Although we have accomplished much in the past few years, everything I envisioned has not already been achieved. I would like to see more ministries birthed out in time to come. What ministries are part of the body of Mt.Olive? The Mount Olive French Congregation on New York Avenue is also a part of the body of the Mount Olive Pentecostal Church of Faith, here on Utica Avenue. In addition to other affiliated ministries, we also have ministries within this church. They include:
6)
What are some struggles that you face as a Bishop? I sometimes struggle with being able to successfully motivate others to catch and run with the vision. There is also a struggle to keep the church in a stabilized manner and to maintain unity among members in the church.
7)
How have you overcome these struggles? Since we are dealing with various people and the factor of time will always be present (new members may come, old ones may leave), stabilization becomes a bit difficult to gain in one shot. So we are still working toward these goals.
8)
What piece(s) of advice would you give to a new and upcoming Minister/Pastor? I think the most important thing that I could advise a new Minister/Pastor, is to love and care for the sheep as a shepherd cares for his flock.

Church Opening of The Power of Love Outreach International Ministries

ishop Hubert Lawton Senior Pastor of the Power of Love Outreach International Ministries and his wife Evangelist Claudette Lawton, along with assistant pastor, Jennifer Evans, and the members of the church celebrated a glorious time in the Lord at the official opening of their sanctuary at 1346 Utica Avenue in Brooklyn, NY. Bishop Lawton, who is also a business man in Brooklyn, was well supported by fellow Ministries, business men, friends and family. Assembly Man, Nick Perry and his wife, Mr. Dennis Hawthorne from Dennis Shipping, also shared in the celebration. Songs of inspiration from the Power of Faith Ministries and others glorified God and brightened up the evening. In addition, Rabbi Apostle Leeds played a significant role in uplifting the spirit of those present, and giving a sense
of assurance through the blowing of the shofar. Pastor Linus Baptiste also gave supportive words of encouragement to Bishop Lawton, the man of the evening, who took time out to recognize and appreciate everyone for coming out. Most importantly, he lifted up the name of the Lord Jesus Christ in appreciation for his goodness and mercy, and for giving him the opportunity to lead as a chosen vessel. The service was then turned over to the speaker of the evening Rev. Dr. Roger Weller of Power of Faith Ministries who in his message stated that, it may look like the church is going under, but the only church that will fail is that which is not founded and established by God. He went on further to say that there are many scandals about the church, “But like Caleb and Joshua,” he said, “we are well
able to overcome. We need to trust God instead of listening to negative reports.” Pastor Weller in his message stated that Bishop Lawton trusted God and went to open the sanctuary. In the development of his message, Rev. Dr. Roger Weller questioned, “What do you do when you get to the end?”“God is able, he said, “to take you through.” His sermon was based on the scriptures: Revelation 7:28 and Numbers 13. In his conclusion, Pastor Weller emphasized that God is anointing some people in this time to be like Caleb and Joshua, and encouraged Bishop Lawton to go forward in the strength of the Lord. An invitation was given to all who were present. We believe God for his rich outpouring on the ministry of Bishop Hubert Lawton.

I
n celebrating 21 years in the ministry, the Hon Bishop Rev Dr. Michael A Frith and his wife, First lady Pastor Lydia A. Frith of the Family of Christ Church of God in the Bronx, had a wonderful Holy Ghost filled and quality spent moments in honor and appreciation, on November 29th and 31st, 2010. Many clergies, ministers, friends, and other congregants turned out in numbers to support the accomplishment of these faithful servants of God. Attending the Friday night ceremony were: The Right Hon. Rev. Dr. Rabbi Keith Elijah Thompson - Bronx Miracle Gospel Tabernacle; Bishop Dr. Randolph Austin- Mount Olive Pentecostal Church in Brooklyn; Bishop Orville Wright - Gospel Church of Christ; Bishop David McDonald - First Community Church of God in Brooklyn; Bishop Joseph Alexander - Kingdom Dominion Cathedral and New Covenant Ministries International, just to name a few. Words of encouragement and exultation in remembrance of years gone by came from many. Dr. Rabbi
Keith Elijah Thompson blew the shofar and saluted his friend, Bishop Frith. The speaker for the night was introduced by Pastor William
Q A
Q. Cherry Thomas in Long Island, NY, asked:
What tips do you suggest for Year-End fundraising?
Response by Valerie Samuel:
A. I like to take the last quarter of the year to strategically and thoughtfully reach out to my top supporters and other friends and think through what motivates each to give to my cause. Just after Thanksgiving, I try to identify these friends and reach out via hand-written note or a telephone call, whichever is most appropriate, simply to share genuine appreciation of the year-to-date giving and provide some yummy details about next year’s dinner. Valerie Samuel is a Author, Educator, Entreprenuer & Fundraising Expert with more than 13 years experience in grant writing, project management and marketing nonprofit programs. Agbavitor. Arch Bishop Joseph Alexander, before his message, told Bishop Frith that he did not come there to show off his skills, but to honor he and his wife. Consequently, he called his Choir to minister in songs for the honorees. Dr. Alexander took his message from 1st Samuel 7. His topic was “A Man Of God For Man.” The Bishop in his message told the congregation that America needs people like Dr Frith to teach and bring people back to God. He made reference to Samuel when he said “I WILL PRAY TO GOD” and told the congregation that they should be grateful that they have a leader who when he cries out to God, He hears. The bishop pointed out that while the Philistine came with threats and power, there was a man of God to stand for the people of Israel. “If you are going to win the battle,” he said, “you need a man of God to stand.” As he continued, he quoted verse 13 of 1st Samuel 7 as an example of how God honors those
whom he calls and appoints. The philistines were subdued and they came no more into the coast of Israel and the hand of the Lord was against them, all the days of Samuel. In closing, the Bishop deeply expressed, “We need man and women of God that will say to the nation you have sinned and don’t compromise. We need pastors who will let the people know that repentance is necessary, and men who will cry to God for us.” He went on to say, “In all, we need a man between man and God.” He went on to assure Bishop Frith that he will stand with him as a friend and colleague because he knows that he is a true man of God. Before the evening was over, the different departments of the F.O.C church, as well as, fellow clergies and ministries presented Bishop Frith and Lady Frith with gifts and beautiful flowers. Bishop Frith, in return, showed his gratitude to all. It was a fantastic, well-spent evening.

pectacular, soul-fulfilling, inspirational, Holy Ghost extravaganza… are insufficient to describe the grand celebration of the work of God among his people, especially of those who are members of the Full Gospel Business Men Fellowship International the New York Chapter, with president, Rev. Leighton Smith, Senior Pastor of Faith Evangelistic Ministries located at 90 William Street, NY, NY 10038. The annual rally which serves to bring Christian business men together takes the form of a Brunch and was held at the Double Tree Metropolitan Hotel in Mid Town Manhattan. An estimated, two hundred celebrants were present to hear the astonishing testimonies of those who experienced the supernatural power of God upon their lives. Miraculous conversions were from prostitute
to principal; death to life; blindness to 20/20 vision; homelessness to ‘home-full-ness’; alcoholism and drug addiction to soberness and rich drug free life. Welcome and appreciation were expressed by Rev. Smith who humbly introduced the special guests inclusive of: Dr. Bill Sudduth, Pastor of Righteous Acts ministries - the man who was delivered from drug addiction and perversity; his wife Janet Sudduth and Son Billy; Rev. Dr. Chapman Payne, who was delivered from homelessness and was brought back to life after he was pronounced dead ; Rev. Dan Mariano, Senior Pastor of Parkway Assembly Of God, Connecticut- an Italian who was miraculously healed from two diseased kidneys; Evangelist Janet Taylor- a prostitute of 29 years who was delivered while in prison. She now serves as an Assistant Principal in North
Carolina; Bro Dann Divinethe man who decided to test the faithfulness of God to his promises. He spent fifteen months in his home church until his sight was miraculously restored. The guest speaker was Dr. Bill Sudduth who delivered a short, but inspiring sermon based Matthew 11:28 and Matthew 9:35. “Everyone is wearing a yoke,” he said, “but who or what are we yoked to?” He continued emphatically to say that the only way to be yoked to Jesus is to be unyoked from the junk; and the only way to be unyoked from the
junk is to be yoked to Jesus. Business representatives were given the opportunity to talk about their businesses, which was seen as a grand opportunity for small businesses. Among such were the Good News Chronicles (Christian News paper), Love express (Christian News paper), and LifeZone Television. The presence of the Holy Spirit was felt throughout
the entire function. Shouts of adoration went up to God as Bro Cash and Minister Jabez, two artistes out of Jamaica, lifted their anointed voices in praise to God. The food was exceptional good, and towards the end, people with different needs were prayed for by anointed men and women of God. The day has certainly left an imprint in the minds of all who were present.

Bronx Resource Community Center Career Institute Presented: ‘Succeeding In Green’
T
he Bronx Resource Community Center Career Institute is a true success story in the Bronx. It is a new facility founded by the Rev. Dr. Rabbi Keith Elijah Thompson, and is changing the lives of people in and around the Bronx community. In observation of this career institute, people will find that it does not only seek to prepare people academically, but rather to develop the whole man in becoming effective citizens of the community and the country in general. In bringing this opportunity to fruition, Dr. Keith Elijah Thompson, CEO, with
representative Alfred G. Battle -Sr. Executive Director of Bronx Resource Community Centerlaunched a seminar, ‘Succeeding in Green-Corporate Career Success Stories,’ on the 30th of October 2010. Top Officials from in and outside New York, contributed significantly, in imparting valuable information to eradicate the ‘high cost of living’ that depletes the richness of the environment and attempts at robbing us of a secure and prosperous future. “Becoming Green is where our future lies,” said Mr. Jerome Ringo, Executive Director for Green Fort and the key note speaker for the seminar.
He concurred that there is opportunity to make America, America again. He further educated the audience that going green gives rise to massive job creation. Counsel man, Larry Seabrook applauded Rev. Keith Elijah Thompson for his courageous attempt in developing the life style of citizens, thus creating a better and brighter future for the community and it’s environs. Cont’d on page 24

Appreciation for Bishop Cecil G. Riley
The mandate was given by Jesus in Mathew 28:19 commanding us to go out into all the world and preach the gospel ….As a result, November 15, 2010 marked a significant day in the life of the hard working, energetic and jovial man of God, Bishop Dr. Cecil G. Riley, the pastor of the Freedom Hall Church of God at 629 Albany Ave., Brooklyn New York, and General Overseer of the Freedom Hall Churches of God in Brooklyn, Queens, Florida, Jamaica, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The church, family and friends from near and far came out in large number to show their appreciation to this powerful man of God. But it is said that ‘behind every successful man is a strong woman’. Bishop Riley’s success would not have been fully realized, without the support of his beautiful and talented wife, Evangelist Eleanor Riley, who has blessed thousands across the world with her singing ministry.
As the choir sang melodiously, the song “Give God the thanks for He is worthy of all praise”, the supreme presence of the Holy Spirit could be felt, and the hearts of the congregants were saturated with the rich blessings of the Lord. Evangelist Eleanor Riley gave warm welcome to all who were present. Among the special guests were Mr. Jeff Barnes (a radio personality from the Bronx) with his lovely wife, and Nadine Blair, a popular radio personality from Love 101 in Jamaica, W.I. Mr. Barnes and Bishop Riley grew up together in the same community in Jamaica and have maintained friendship throughout the years. “Jeff Barnes,” stated Bishop Riley, “is the Joseph that a lot of pharaoh did not know.” He further stated that where we are from, has nothing to do with who we are. Though they were raised in an inner city community, they have led honorary lives and have contributed significantly to society. “Thank you for the times you say no,” was solemn and inspirational as Nadine Blaire lifted her voice in praise to the God who has been her source of strength throughout the years. Bishop Riley the powerful man of God delivered the sermon from Ezra 8:27-30. People’s hearts and minds were challenged as he elaborated the theme, “Watch
Dr. Cecil G. Riley & First Lady Evangelist Eleanor Riley yourself”. He emphasized the fact that we were chosen and entrusted with valuable gifts from God, and as we journeyed to our final destination, the devil is setting up to rob us of these treasures. Hence, we should always be on the lookout and watch ourselves. He questioned, “Are we anticipating the day when our treasures will be weighed?” This is a question that every believer needs to answer with sincerity. May God continue to bless Bishop Riley and the members of the Freedom Hall Church of God as they endeavored to carry the mantle of salvation to the lost and dying.

Qualities Needed in Trials James 1:19 “So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;”
T
his little vessel called our tongue is small in size, but in it lies life and death. It can bring restoration or destruction. In marriage our tongue can be an effective tool in bringing strife, separation, hurt and pain. It is the one reason for anger and bitterness between partners in a marriage. One partner may speak one or more sentences that can induce tremendous pain in the other partner’s heart and soul, for a short time or a lifetime. Words cannot be taken back. My brothers and sisters, you cannot take back words that are spoken, so think carefully before you speak when the situation or circumstance of a discussion or conversation strikes. Friends, God knew how misguided we become with our tongues, so he gave us this word in James 1:19. In marriage, sometimes, even
most times, we have to let go quickly of situations that may elevate into saying something that you do not mean or something you will later regret. Apologies work time after time but when your tongue continues to make the same mistake, after some time apologies would not be effective again. So we have to use wisdom, God’s wisdom says James 1:19 “So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;” Brothers and sisters, speak little when it comes to issues that bother you; avoid a confrontation; listen to your partner more; you will learn a lot more about your partner through listening; avoid wrath, anger and arguments. Trust God, He knows, He created marriage, He designed it, He knows what it takes to make it work, as we say. Not everything your partner says or does require a confrontation or needs to be “talked” about. Communication is great for relationships and marriages, but unnecessary communication can ruin your marriage. Let the Holy
Spirit guide you when to speak about particular topics that may bother you. Not everything God wants us to talk about; some things He wants us to pray about and trust Him to work it out. Friends, it is great to have a God that can fight your battles in your marriage while you smile and rest. You get to be the good partner that do not argue or fight even though there may be issues in your marriage that need fixing; God can fix the problems while you get to be the nice partner. Know when to speak, know when to be quiet and pray, and trust in the Lord. Look the other way sometimes and let God work it out. He is able. Nothing is impossible
with God. Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Anything you don’t control will control you. Don’t let your tongue take control of you or your marriage. There is power on the inside of you. Let the Holy Spirit bring peace in your Marriage.

Spiritual Warfare: Overcoming Household Wickedness Part I
I
want to share something with you that may be difficult for some to wrap their mind around. It is the fact that the source of the spiritual attack you are experiencing in your life may be from people that you know - people that you share your secrets with, people that you share your
success and struggles with. What I am saying is that it is possible that the reason why you are going through what you are going through is because of an attack from members of your family. I know it’s difficult for many people to believe that - that their mother can be the reason why they are going through hardship in life; that their father could be the reason why they are having bad dreams; that their child could be the one causing them to have financial difficulties; that it is possible that their uncle or sibling may be the reason why things have been difficult for them in life. The truth of the matter is that the source of spiritual attacks in our lives many
times, are people that we trust, lean on and depend on. Sometimes they are the one visiting demonic places to put curses, hexes and jinxes on our lives. This truth is not a strange thing in the bible. Micah 7:6 says “For the son dishonored the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man’s enemies [are] the men of his own house.” Sometimes your enemies are the ones you smile with. Sometimes your enemies are the ones you sleep on the same bed with. Sometimes your enemies are the ones you are in the same house with. Sometimes your enemies are the ones you ask to pray for you; they
may be the one behind your problem. This truth is not even strange to Jesus Christ. He addressed it in Mathew 10:36. He said “And a man’s foes [shall be] they of his own household.” Because these people are close to you and have easy access to you, it makes it easy for them to steal, kill and destroy. As we talk about household wickedness I want you to know that household wickedness is not limited to members of your family. Household could also refer to church member. Sometimes people that you go to church with may be doing voodoo against you. They may be putting obeah or curses

Faith Evangelistic Ministries Fifteen Years Anniversary Celebration and Crusade With ‘Man A Dus’
B
Story Covered by: VERONICA THAWNEY
Senior Pastor and Overseer of Faith Evangelistic Ministries, Rev. Leighton and Marjorie Smith hosted the event. It began on Sunday November 28, 2010 with the celebration of their fifteen years Anniversary and continued with a crusade which ends on December 3rd, 2010. Many testified of the miracles that Jesus did in their lives. People who were to be sent to prison; people who were blind; those who were on drugs; former prostitute and others, shared their testimonies of how Jesus set them free from the captivity of the adversary. But each night, enthusiastic
gathering looked forward to hearing the voice of ‘Man A Dus’ (Bishop Orville Smith) Bishop Smith preaching style is different but holds the same certainty that Jesus is Lord and spells out the necessity of receiving salvation before it is too late. Although he is jovial and outspoken at the same time, his sermon, nonetheless, expressed the truth of God’s words and emphatically upholds strong spiritual values to every listening ear. Bishop Orville Smith, an anointed man of God shared many interesting testimonies of miracles that occurred in his life. His testimonies, songs and intense preaching brought laughter, tears, reflections, redemption and conviction to everyone present nights after

nights. The Bishop on the first night took his sermon from Hebrew 4:9. His title was Supremacy or Service. Bishop Orville warned that people should be careful of their motives when they are called to serve. Many only want to have power and to be seen, and some are taking God’s Chair by projecting themselves as though they are the ones to perform the miracles. “God doesn’t share his glory with anyone,” he emphasized. On Monday he added more fuel to the fire with his topic “What to do when you don’t know what to do.” His answer to this topic was WORSHIP. Bishop told the story of a woman who were about to be raped by three men but began to praise God and after they have her stripped, they could not see her for their eyes were blinded by the Holy Spirit. Tuesday was no exception - more fire as he spoke on the

ll rise in worship as the voice of Cheryl Linton demonstrates that the spirit of the Lord can manifest itself in the most exquisite of ways, as is quite apparent in this collection of modern songs and old favorites contained in three of her most recent CDs: In God’s Hands (IGH), A Changed Life (ACL), and A New Beginning (ANB). It is clear in listening to Ms. Linton that she possesses amazing gifts, not only in the powerful yet nuanced way in which she interprets the familiar words of these timeless compositions, but also in the manner in which she utilizes her amazing range and musical dexterity, celestially soaring above us, while remaining earthly bound. This is exemplified by her flawless rendition of All Rise, a stirringly affirming offering, from IGH, which celebrates and acknowledges the Lord as Savior. Linton’s soprano is not only buoyant as it lifts us forward and calls us to witness, but also transformative, leading us into enthusiastic acceptance of God’s grace and unwavering support in our daily lives. She exhibits equal aplomb in other selections, such as It is Well with My Soul, from ACL, a beautifully
rendered, lushly arranged, song of tranquility. One can hardly avoid yielding to the calmness of spirit that could achieve such a moving pairing of words and music, as is executed in this fine recording. Linton displays her mastery of the genre in this selection, which is certainly a testament to her prowess. Also of note is her rendition of the always arresting Amazing Grace, from ANB, certainly one of the most beloved hymns of all times. Accompanied, again, by vibrant orchestration, Linton is quite at home with this perennial favorite, expressing a great deal of soul as well as melodic authenticity. I’m sure composer, John Newton, would be rightly pleased by this interpretation of his legendary hymn. This is a powerful performer at the top of her craft, a singer’s singer, sharing the word of God through a ministry of amazing songs, with an exceptional voice. It is obvious that Linton feels a deep connection to the words, music, and message of these compositions and it is clear that she places great value in the ability of these verses to enfold, comfort, and inspire. ****** For more on Cheryl Linton, email: www.cheryllinton.com or call (914) 447-5777. topic, The Help You Seek Is In God To Find. His sermon was taken from Psalms 121 and Genesis 8:6, which tells of Noah and the Ark. Bishop told the people on Tuesday that it was time to enter into God’s rest. He continued with the midday service on Wednesday,
then back into Wednesday night until Friday. Bishop Orville Smith (Man A Dus) a true warrior of God, continues to make soul winning, a top priority. Though the Bishop is in high demand globally, many are anticipating his early return to New York City.

id the ‘Acts’ of the Apostles cease with the closure of biblical times? Are signs, wonders and miracles a thing of the past, or have these eye-catching marvels pressed their way through the Dark Ages to continue to impact generations?... even OUR generation? While a spate of counterfeit miracles have made many wary of such things, I submit to you that the resurrected Christ still backs up His Word in Mark 16:17-18 which states: “…these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons…they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (NKJV) One such person who puts these truthful words into practice is Apostle O.S.A. Aiyemo, the President & Founder of Jubilee For All Nations Ministries in Nigeria. Apostle Aiyemo ministers at miracle crusades around the world to massive crowds, and in his meetings there has been an eruption of signs and wonders as the miracle power of God goes to work healing the deaf and dumb, the paralyzed, those with HIV/AIDS and those afflicted with all manner of diseases. He has raised the dead to life, averted five plane crashes and done many other amazing acts.
However, he does not make the mistake to think that he is able to accomplish any of this by his own strength, and constantly ascribes the glory to God. He has a famous saying that “Without the anointing of the Holy Spirit, I am like chicken!” It usually comes across as being funny when he says it, but he is as serious as can be! He totally believes Jesus’ words in John 15:5 that says: “without ME, you can do NOTHING!” and does not attempt to work the ‘works of God’ without the ‘GOD of the works’! This revelation, perhaps, is the secret behind Apostle Aiyemo’s zealous commitment to the study of God’s Word and to prayer. He is no stranger to spending over 12 hours in intercession. Sometimes days, weeks and even months are devoted to the discipline of prayer and fasting… just him and God. Not another human being is seen (not even his wife) until he is released from that sacred place of consecration in the holy presence of the Most High God. What a feat to accomplish, especially in this modern technological age where phones are constantly ringing, emails are screaming for attention, business dealings with critical deadlines are demanding action. His commitment to such quality time with God is phenomenal. Apostle Aiyemo has himself admitted that this degree of sacrifice can be hard at times, but to him it is worth every minute of it when God’s Glory manifests in his meetings, bringing salvation, healing and deliverance to hurting and lost humanity. He is a man driven by a relentless passion to win millions of souls to Christ and anticipates a greater harvest of souls and increased manifestations of God’s Glory than ever before. ****** Apostle O.S.A. Aiyemo would be in New York in the first quarter of 2011 for Special Miracle Services. For up-todate information about these meetings, you may visit www.apostleaiyemo.org or www.jfanm.com. GEORGE WRIGHT -
ASSUMING HIS DESTINY
B
rother George’s anxiously awaited third CD, “Worship with Christ”, is scheduled to be released in early 2011, and if his past musical offerings are of any indication, we are certainly in for a deeply moving and inspiring experience. A sneak preview of the single Holiness reveals an artist deeply connected to his audience and thoroughly schooled in the ministry of gospel music. This proficiency had been established from the outset of his inspired career through recordings such as On My Knees, from his CD “Rescue Me”, a perfect example of spiritual supplication, intoned through powerful lyrics and Wright’s plaintively arresting vocals. This memorable track is rendered through the skillful arrangement and production of Sidney Mills of SPI Productions, in conjunction with Dennis Salmon of True Heart Productions. Listeners are taking notice and are responding enthusiastically to his musical ministry. An example of this heartfelt embrace is observed through the overwhelming reaction by radio listeners to his current single Give Me Strength, which is featured on the CD “My Soul is in Your Hand”, and which is currently dominating the charts. The song is one of the most requested songs on gospel radio today, and listeners are reacting to Wright’s simple but universal request for strength and spiritual support in trying times. This transcendent element of his music is one of the keys to his remarkable success; coupled with a voice that is undoubtedly one of the most distinctive and enviable in all of gospel music. He frequently performs with such passion and urgency that one is almost compelled to pay attention. A reggae musician for over two decades, Wright has made his transition to gospel music with the ease and instinct of a veteran, which is a testament to his close relationship with God and the sober realization that he has assumed his destiny.
