GOSPEL ARTIST OF THE MONTH

Evangelist Barrington Reid

B

arrington Reid and The Gospel Lights is what his group is presently known as. Gracing the stage with the popular gospel artist, Barrington tells his story of how and when he started his career as a gospel singer. Osmond Barrington Reid was born to Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Reid. His parents raised him to love and believe in God. Barrington, who loved music and singing started out like most people at church. At the age of five, with his sister, Navlet Reid beside him, he had his first duet. Later Barrington traveled on to Savanna-La-Mar where he started a group known as The Dynamic Gospel Singers. To finance his singing ministry, Barrington worked as a chef at various restaurants. He later moved to Montego Bay where he met Mr. Sydney Bennett who owned and operated Western Gospel promotions. Mr. Bennett encouraged and

assisted Barrington to start singing solo. After going solo for a few years, he decided he would like to have a partner again. He came together with Phillip Reid and introduced to the world “The Country Boys.” The Country Boys produced two CDs together, “Beautiful Day” and “Feel Like Traveling On.” They were doing well with the Country Boys when God call Barrington to branch out further with his ministry. At this time, Barrington met Reverend Howard Ricketts of the USA. Reverend Ricketts helped him put a group together currently known as Barrington Reid and The Gospel Lights. The group has been together since 1991 and is still going strong. He then proceeded to minister in Brooklyn, New York, New Jersey, Queens, Canada, Georgia, and Florida, where his album “Awake Christians Awake” made number one hit in 2003-04. He also has on CDs Stay By Me Jesus and Send Praises Up Blessings Come Down. Barrington is very committed to the work and will stop at nothing to get the message across to the world. Because of his dedication, he has shared the stage with the likes of Shirley Caesar, Jessie Dixon, Otis Wright, Junior Tucker, Carlene Davis, Vicki Winans, The Anointed Yoke Destroyers, F.C. Barnes, Rev. Derrek Douglas, Dennis Aganian, Grace Thrillers, Stitchie, Papa San, Devon Johnson, The Newell Sisters, Hopeton Lewis, Candi Staton, Bro. Cash, Judy Mowatt, Claudette Clarke, and many others. He’s also traveled to places like Barbados, England, Trinidad, Tobago, Antigua, St. Vincent, and the Cirenadine’s, and beyond, ministering the word of God. He has also been Guest Artist at many crusades where he shares the stage with the Rev. Paul Lewis, Rev. Jackie McCullough, and the Evangelist Vanessa Williams. He migrated to the U.S.A. to expand his ministry. In November of 2004 he

moved from Brooklyn N.Y. to, a little city in Georgia called Vidalia. There he met a local group by the name of The Anointed Yoke Destroyers. He and the girls grew attached; therefore Barrington decided to adopt them as his own. It was in Georgia at a concert, where he met Mr. Renford Williams, radio host of 1580 AM, a Caribbean radio station. He helped to establish him in Florida by bringing him in to a fundraising concert Later he met Julian Smith, who led him to radio announcer Bro. Pearce from Vibez 101.9 FM radio station. Through the help of Bro. Pearce, Barrington was introduced to a label company. When asked, “What is Barrington’s greatest joy?” His response was, “It is to bring joy, encouragement, and peace to people everywhere while ministering the gospel.”

n order for us to reap the blessings of God and experience a new level and dimension in our walk with God, it is imperative that we get rid of the old and establish the new. Even Jesus said that you cannot put new wine into old skins, for the skins will burst and the wine will spill out. As you come to the end of January 2010, you should ask yourself these questions: have I gotten rid of those old skins? Have I begun to taste and enjoy my new wine? The following represents timely reminders on the power of prayer.

and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (KJV). What is extremely remarkable about this verse is the power that God has placed in our hands to “call the shots”. In Matthew chapter 6, the model prayer given by Jesus to his new disciples was “Our Father…thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven”. In this latter verse, the new disciples are instructed to pray that God’s will be done on the earth, while in the former we have to authority to claim our will and establish it in heaven. In other words, we are given the power to decree a thing, a power that was reserved solely in heaven. In our spiritual infancy Jesus instructed us to pray for the will of heaven on earth. In Matthew 18, we can loose and bind things on earth and they will be granted to us from heaven. What a lesson in maturity when it comes to prayer. When you are at a certain level and dimension with and in God what you ask for in prayer is in most cases already in the will of God; you are certain to receive what you ask for. If you bind something on earth it is already done in heaven, likewise if you loose some thing on earth these things are already loosed. What an encouragement for this New Year to grow in grace and in the knowledge of God so that we will receive more power to obtain wealth, prosperity and health even as your soul pros-

pers. 2.The Power of Agreement Matthew 18:19 – 20 states, “Again I say to you, that if any two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” (KJV). Jesus again emphasizes the power of prayer, but in these verses he speaks about the power of agreement in prayer to bring about answers to prayers. Then he further states that God is in the midst of those who are gathered together in His name. Fellowship with one God and one another is so crucial in prayer. In this same chapter God speaks about how un-forgiveness among the brethren can hinder prayer and answers to prayer. We cannot take for granted our brothers and sisters who are spiritual support structures in our lives. Final note, it would be to our advantage to surround ourselves with people who are serious about God, and who are going in our direction, that is, to another level and dimension in God. Do you want some answers to your prayers? Do you want heavenly power? Pray with someone who is spiritual and who you can agree with to touch and claim that thing that you want here on earth, and see God work miracles in your life.

od created Marriage to be a union between a man and a woman where God should be the head. Ecclesiastes 4:12 “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.” A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. I urge every married couple to place God at the top of your marriage and be joined together to Him and by Him in your Marriage. A Marriage cannot survive the effects of the worldly influences of this era without God being the head of their marriage, their lives and their homes. Marriages need God in this time and season. This is the Year Of The Lord, where He will perfect and bring to pass all His promises to

you in and for your marriage. If you have been seeking God for help, guidance, reconciliation, and restoration, expect the manifestation of God’s promises in 2010. You may have been praying for a husband or wife that has left the marriage, to come back to his or her family; or a husband or wife who has been unfaithful; or a husband or wife who just needs to step up his or her game and take up their places as a husband and father or wife and mother; God will do it for you this year. This year there will be “Completeness and Perfection of Order” by God for you. God has heard your prayers; He has heard your cries; He has seen your sacrifices and God wants to restore all that the cankerworm has stolen. Joel 2:25 “And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.” Claim what you want God to do for your marriage. If it lines up with God’s word, God will do it for you. “James 4:2 You have not because you ask not. A successful marriage is about being kind and being loving to each other. Let us all try to fulfill the basic needs in our marriage. “Let It Begin With Me”. Let’s start with “The Need For Unconditional Love” which says “I will love you always . You don’t have to perform. You don’t have to earn it. “The Need For Appreciation”. When a person believes that no one notices their efforts they stop making any effort at all. A few words of acknowledgment can go a long way toward building your mate’s self confidence and esteem. “The Need For Security”. Every person needs to feel secure. This is something we should be doing every day. Your spouse needs to know that in their mind this is forever.

I’ m not going to leave if I don’t get my way. I’m not packing my bags. I’m not going anywhere. We’re in this forever and we will work out whatever we need to work out. Books are available for purchase at : www.amazon.com and www.barnesandnoble.com For orders or other information: Ph: 347 229 7016

Wyclef Jean Voices Support For Haitian Rebels He also calls for Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide to Step Down

W

yclef Jean voiced his support for Haitian rebels on Wednesday, calling on embattled Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide to step down and telling his fans in Haiti to "keep their head up" as the country braces itself for possible civil war. "The country's in an uproar, it's not safe. But for the safety of the country and to stop the violence, it has to be a situation where he steps down," Jean, who was born in Croix-desBouquets, Haiti, told MTV News. "If the president steps down, there will be some form of negotiation with the opposition force." "I don't consider those people rebels," Wyclef said. "It's people standing up for their rights. It's not like these people just appeared out of nowhere and said, 'Let's cause some trouble.' I think it's just built up frustration, anger, hunger, depression." On Wednesday morning (January 25), the heavily armed opposition, led by members of Haiti's now-disbanded army, approached the capital of Port-au-Prince after laying siege to the country's second largest city, Cap-Hatien, on Thursday. They demanded that President Aristide step down, called his government corrupt and demanded new elections. Fifty-five U.S. Marines were sent to Haiti to protect the U.S. Embassy there on Monday. Rebels now have until 5 p.m. on Tuesday to re-

spond to an international proposal aimed at appeasing both the uprising and the U.S.-backed Aristide government. President Bush has told the Coast Guard to maintain "a robust presence" against any Haitian refugees seeking asylum in the U.S. It is a stance with which Wyclef disagrees. "They're coming because they can't work, they can't feed their children and they're looking for a better life," he said. Jean praised Al Sharpton's decision to visit the country on Tuesday ("I'm a supporter and I know he's gonna do the right thing") and encouraged people who wanted to understand the current situation in Haiti to see a new documentary by Jonathan Demme called "The Agronomist," which Jean scored. "It's about an MC/DJ named Jean Dominique who had a radio show and spoke out for the people," Wyclef explained. "He was murdered. The movie will definitely provide enlightenment about what's going on right now." Wyclef also asked his fans to understand that the current uprising is not simply senseless violence. "What I want people to be clear about is it's not just people chopping up people for no reason. It's on the level of a civil war. People want the president that is currently the state to step down. And him stepping down will let the people make any kind of negotiation to come up with some form of peace."

Prayer of Forgivess and Renounciation If you see that you have opened the door one way or the other in the past to the devil, there is a need to repent, renounce and close all doors to Satan in your life. Please read the following scriptures. They are God’s words that promise deliverance. After that, pray the following prayers by faith and trust God to forgive you and remove all demonic spirits and attacks from your life. Scriptures— 2 Timothy 2:18; Jeremiah 15:21; Psalm 91:3 Prayer For Forgiveness Father, I confess that in the past I have held unforgiveness, sometimes bitterness and resentment in my heart against certain people who have hurt or disappointed me. I now recognize this as sin and confess it as sin, for you have said in your Word that if we confess our sin, you are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us of all unrighteousness (1John 1:9) I do now forgive the following people I can remember, who have hurt or disappointed me. {Insert here the names of all who come to mind } Some of our deliverance audio messages are Now Available at New Life Christian Bookstore 139-11 Queens Boulevard, Queens, NY 718-739-0707 ....Continued on p.18

LEGEND OF LEGENDS

Pastor Shirley Caesar

hirley Ann Caesar (born October 13, 1938 in Durham, North Carolina) is an American Gospel music singer, songwriter and recording artist whose career has spanned six decades. A multi-award winning artist, with eleven Grammy awards and seven Dove awards to her credit, she is known as "The First Lady of Gospel Music." She is a graduate of Shaw University with a degree in Business Administration. She also received an honorary doctorate from Shaw University and another one from Southeastern University. Beginning her recording career in 1951, Pastor Shirley has since recorded over forty albums, exploring her gift and spreading messages of faith. She has participated in over 16 compilations and three gospel musicals, Mama I Want to Sing, Sing: Mama 2, and Born to Sing: Mama 3. Her credits also include a series of commercials for MCI Communications and several awards for her recordings. She has been

S

awarded 11 Grammy Awards, 13 Stellar Awards, 18 Doves, 1 RIAA gold certification, an Essence Award, McDonald's Golden Circle Lifetime Achievement Award, NAACP Achievement Award, SESAC Lifetime Achievement Award, as well as induction into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. According to Soundscan, she has sold 2.2 million albums since 1991. Pastor Shirley has made several notable appearances including the televised Live from Disney World Night of Joy, the Gospel According to VH-1, a White House performance for George Bush, and a speech on the Evolution of Gospel Music to the US Treasury Department. A popular gospel singer who often shouts her music in order for her messages to be received, Shirley Caesar performed with the Caravans in the '60s before pursuing a professional solo career in 1966. Shirley Caesar performs with an energetic and boisterous style. She believes that with all the suffering and hardships in

the world people will listen to her recordings and be encouraged. Her live album, He Will Come, is a testimony to her philosophy of life. The album was recorded with the choir, band and congregation of her church. In the title song "He Will Come," Shirley Caesar transcends the message of hope, that although society is getting worse, the Lord will save us and is coming. Among her other gospel hits with inspiring messages include "God Is Good," "Revive Us Again" and "Time to Be Blessed." Shirley Caesar's hope is that her messages will be listened to and people will be encouraged to lead good lives. Her 1987 hit, "Hold My Mule," was written to encourage people to "fight the good fight." All her songs combine music with ministry to convey her messages. Shirley Caesar has received numerous awards for her gospel albums. She has received Grammy Awards for Stand Still, Shirley Caesar Live...He Will Come, Sailin', Rejoice, Celebration and He's Working It Out For You. Between 1981 and 1995 she has received seven Dove Awards for Black Gospel Album of the Year for Live at the G.M.W.A., Live...In Chicago, Celebration, Christmasing, Sailin', Go and Rejoice. Two Black Gospel Song of the Year Awards for "He's Working It Out for You" and "Hold My Mule." Besides being the minister of her church in North Carolina and performing concerts nationwide, Shirley Caesar has performed on Broadway. Her Broadway performances include roles in +Born to Sing: Mama 3, +Mama I Want to Sing and +Sing: Mama 2. She made a guest appearance at the 25th anniversary of Walt Disney World with fellow artists Peabo Bryson, CeCe Winans, Regis Philbin and Kathie Lee Gifford. Her activities include performing for President Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton at a campaign function. Despite her busy schedule, Shirley Caesar constantly finds time to get her messages of encouragement and peace to people. "After 40 years....Still Sweeping through The City" If you were beginning to worry that no significant traditional gospel albums made a mark in 2007, Shirley Caesar's After 40 Years … Still Sweeping Through the

City is sure to lay those fears to rest. The title is fairly self-explanatory. This is the gospel matriarch's 40th anniversary as a solo recording artist, a career she began in 1966 after a leap of faith. A call to ministry led Caesar to leave The Caravans, arguably the most popular all-female gospel group of the 1950s, but from there she soared to new heights. Celebrity-minded gospel luminaries would use this occasion to roll out the red carpet and make this more about the guests and the creators than about the Creator, but not Caesar. This album was recorded live at Mount Calvary Word of Faith Church—the congregation she copastors with her husband—as the culmination of a week of seminars and training for church leaders. It's understandable then why Sweeping sounds like a Sunday morning extravaganza, with Caesar as the officiating minister. From top to bottom, Caesar is in command of her own celebration, roaring through a dozen tracks and 77 minutes of unbridled gospel fire. As soon as the bluesdrenched "Sweeping Through the City" kicks things off, there's no stopping this disc, with every selection a masterwork in its own right, whether it's a floor-stomping hand-clapper, a choral sing-off, a storyteller, or all of the above. In good Caesar tradition, the classic "Hold My Mule" retains its exhortative qualities. It's a sermon-ette of histrionic proportions, where the singer spews fire and brimstone for six-plus minutes before actually doing any singing. This may be a turnoff for more delicate, unschooled listeners, but it's pure gospel heaven for traditionalist devotees of the genre—a vocal showstopper and rock-solid performance that demonstrates Caesar's pipes haven't aged a bit after four decades in music and ministry. A few Caesar essentials in the vein of "Hold My Mule" are missing from this commemorative effort, particularly the tour de force "Don't Drive Your Mama Away" and the crossover hit "No Charge," but that's nitpicking at best. There are enough Caesar classics here and old-time fervor to make Still Sweeping Through the City the best traditional gospel album of the year.

Acromegaly

By: Morrine Foster-Huey, PA-S This is the result of an overproduction of growth hormone resulting from the presence of an adenoma in the pituitary gland. The effect generally occurs after the epiphyses (growth plates have closed). This disease generally manifests itself between twenty and forty years of age. This hypersecretion manifests itself as coarsening of

the facial features, soft tissue swelling of the hands and feet, change in general appearances, and the need for larger rings, gloves and shoes. The body hair coarsens; the skin thickens and sometimes become darker. The size and function of the sebaceous glands increase and the patient often complains of excessive sweating and unpleasant body odor. There is overgrowth of the mandible resulting in protrusion of the jaw and malocclusion of the teeth. Proliferation of the cartilage of the larynx results in a deep and husky voice and the tongue is generally enlarged and furrowed. In long standing acromegaly costal growth results in the patient being barrel chested. Peripheral neuropathies are a common condition because of the compression of nerves by adjacent fibrous tissue and endoneural proliferation. Headaches are common because of the pituitary tumor which is creating the problem and bitemporal hemianopia is highly possible because of the effect of the tumor on the optic chiasm. Organs such as the heart, liver, kidneys, spleen, thyroid, parathyroid and pancreas become larger than usual. There has also been reports of

Child Abuse and the Coping Strategies The Spiritual Implications

growth hormones being secreted by ectopic tumors, such as tumors of the pancreatic, ovarian, lung or hematopoietic origin. These patients present with classic forms of acromegaly. However the most common cause of growth hormone releasing hormone mediated acromegaly is chest or abdominal carcinoid tumor. On physical examinations the patient presents acral bone overgrowth, frontal bossing, increased hands and foot size, mandibular enlargement with prognathism and widened space between the lower incisors. Soft tissue is indicated in thickened heel pads, increase in shoes or glove size, coarse facial features, a large fleshy nose, excessive sweating, a deep hollow voice, oily skin, arthropathy, kyphosis, carpal tunnel syndrome, proximal muscle weakness and fatigue, acanthosis nigricans and skin tags, generalized organomegaly including such organs as heart, liver, spleen, kidneys and liver. The most significant impact of growth hormone on the body affects the cardiovascular system. The effects include coronary heart disease, cardiomyopathy with arrhythmias, left ventricular hypertrophy, decreased diastolic function and hypertension.

More than 60% of these patients suffer from upper airway obstruction with sleep apnea because of airway obstruction resulting from enlarged soft tissue as well as central sleep dysfunction. Diabetes mellitus may be a common presenting condition because of the increase intolerance to the glucose overload and the increased insensitivity to insulin. The mortality rate is greatly increased in these patients because of the combined involvement of the cardiovascular, pulmonary and cerebrovascular involvement, which is a part of this disease state. HAITI

By; Antonia Hudson As we reflect on the last couple of weeks, we can do nothing but mourn for the losses of our neighbor Haiti. The horrible earthquake that has taken place there is overwhelmingly sad. It is the worst disaster that has taken place in many decades, in terms of lives lost, and the tragedy has not yet ended as those who have survived are in a delicate situation. As the world rushes to assist her in her time of need it is sad that there are still lives in the balance who, despite our greatest efforts, will not survive, many are without shelter exposed to the elements, some might still be trapped alive under the rubble and outbreak of disease is a possibility. Even as we empathize with our sister Haiti let us take from this some spiritual lessons. 1.THE COMING OF THE LORD IS NEAR This is a phrase we have heard over and over again and have perhaps become wearied by, irritated by those as-

sociating every disaster and incident with the signs of the time. Yet it was Jesus himself who said when you see these things look up for our redemption draws near and went on to name these things. In the last couple of decades we have seen disasters of a magnitude and frequency that has never been experience before, powerful earthquakes, mega storms, floods, and the list goes on. Should Jesus appear now how prepared are we to meet him. 2.JUDGE NOT Haiti’s history has been a tragic one of political turmoil, wide spread corruption, disaster, and depleted natural resources. It is a place where poverty and culture are deeply entrenched in witchcraft or voodoo as it is called. I have listen to talk shows where persons call in to say that it is God’s judgment on the people of Haiti for their wickedness. I am not saying that it was not the wrath of God, but even if it were so, is it our part to point fingers? I believe Jesus in this case would ask as he did some disciples “Thinkest thou that you are more righteous than these, but lest ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Let us examine ourselves as nations, communities and churches, and see where we have fallen short.

PA SYSTEM FOR RENTAL. FOR ALL OCCASIONS

3.THE LESSON FOR JAMAICA We in Jamaica take the grace of God for granted, the lord has blessed us and has spared us many times from numerous near misses with disaster, but God will not always strive with man. The blood of many innocent is crying out from the ground, and God will not let wickedness go unpunished. There is also much corruption from the politicians to the police to the average citizen and justice often does not prevail. God is not pleased, therefore as a nation we need to whole heartedly repent beginning with the church. We need to humble ourselves under God’s mighty hand and turn from our wicked ways so that God may heal our land. In closing I want to encourage us to pray for Haiti, not only that their present temporal needs be met but that there might be a spiritual revival in that country, that God might bring deliverance to the nation and that they as a nation might begin to flourish and to prosper and come into a time rest. May the blessings of the Lord be yours until next time. -

Soul Proclamations & Confessions For Us

I AM AN OVER COMER

By: Suzette Smith I am a chosen vessel unto honor, called into God’s royal priesthood, and snatched from the pit to the palace. I must go now, and “… possess the good land.” I am taking the stuff that God has promised me. Yes, the promises of God are sure and final. In him, I found a friend that sticketh closer than any brother, a keeper, a refuge, my strong tower. He is a

glorious wonder in my soul. I lift up my head, and I look to the Lord. I count my mistakes as life’s experience. My misery has become my ministry, and the events in my life will produce my message. I know that for every mishap there is a comeback. Life is a task, and a battle field. Therefore, I take on the duty and a mentality of an over comer. After every episode and complicated phase, I expect great things from the father. “He is a rewarder of them that diligently look to him”. I always remember to pray. “If you seek me, you shall find him.” I do not take my blessings for granted, but I count them, for they are many. I gain the strength daily to “grow in grace, and the knowledge of the father.” I over come and succeed. If it had not been for God, I never would of made it this far. Through the valley, the storm, the cloud, the wind, and havoc, I over come. I am not dismayed, neither will I be discourage. God is on the inside, he is the greater one in me (you). He is ever in my corner, on my side, he’s got my back, and he goes before me.

God is my shield, my pavilion, my refuge, it is he who I run to, and he delivers me to victory. He is a wonder in my soul, outrageous, delightful, amazing, gracious, and ever glorious. Who can stand to take the king’s place in my life? “The father looks for those to worship him.” I make him the priority in my life, and that is why I deliberately over come all obstacles. The challenges of life are no more an opportunity for growth and expansion. I choose to accept life assignments as blessings. I found comfort, contentment, revelation, and great expectation from the result of my troubles. They don’t last, the devil cannot remain faithful. I command him to loose his hold, and “bind him here on earth, and he is bound in heaven.” I take back my life and my joy. I am living my life now in total victory; Christ has given me that “authority.” I know who I am, and it is in him I do believe. It is absolutely too late for the adversary, he can not stop me. I will not live in captivity. “Where the spirit of the Lord is there is liberty.” I feel good about my soul, my being, myself, my worth, my mental, my

consciousness, my sense of make up (GOD). I take on the image of a triumphant God. I am looking like him; I do not apprehend myself to yester year’s displeasures, misfortunes, and disappointments. I move forward and escalate towards life’s new beginnings and endeavourers. I think and ponder good thoughts, and supernatural turn around. I walk in God’s excellence and his majestic presence. I have continuous victory. Everyday I am an over comer in everyway, and in all areas of my life. I am an over comer, a winner, and more than a conquer. . . olanda Adams often sings about faith, love and forgiveness, but instead of belting out the gospel message in song for her latest release, she writes about it in her first book, Points of Power: Discover a Spirit-Filled Life of Joy and Purpose. Grammy Award-winning gospel artist Adams encourages readers with spiritual truths and personal anecdotes, challenging them to take hold of the same contagious joy she discovered during a painful divorce and other experiences. "As a Christian, I want more than ever to show others the power of God's love," she writes. "You don't do that by badgering people; you do it by being a good example." Much of Adams' message is drawn from the Points of Power segment of her widely syndicated radio program The Yolanda Adams Morning Show. The freshman author discusses nearly 40 points that compel readers to overcome hardships, sadness, disappointment and other joy killers. "As I studied God's Word, I began to gather different points that helped me understand how I could live my life based on God's power and grace," Adams writes. "I often reflected on words like faith, love and forgiveness." Adams is gearing up for a national book tour and preparing for the release of another CD. But today her focus is to inspire readers with the tried-and-true message of God's love. "Use your faith and prayer to connect with the Holy Spirit and, no matter what, you will overcome. Cry when you have to, but laugh more than you cry!" she writes.

charges stemming from an alleged altercation with his ex-wife Debra Winans. Judge Gloria Dumas of the General Sessions Court for Metropolitan Nashville-Davidson County signed an order on Friday, December 4, 2009, dismissing all charges with prejudice. With this order, this domestic matter is over and cannot be reopened. On February 13, 2009, the Grammy Award winning singer was accused of allegedly shoving his exwife to the ground during an argument. Court filings stated that the alleged altercation was based on custody issues dealing with their two children. Winans was arrested on March 11, 2009 on a misdemeanor domestic assault charge and was briefly held at the Davidson County jail before posting $1000 bond. "This situation has made me a changed man," says Winans. "But it has also helped me see that there needs to be legislation that protects the rights of father's when it comes to the custody of their children. All men are not deadbeat Dads, all men are not abusing women. And it's unfortunate that the legal system and society assume the worst before they hear the truth. My children are my first priority and I want and need to become the voice for the men around the world who are doing the RIGHT thing!"

BIBLE FAITH MINISTRIES

“Breaking the Curse”

Bishop Gregory A. Foster “A curse cannot happen without a cause” said Bishop Gregory A. Foster, in his message on Sunday, January 24, 2010. The Bishop explained in his message that a curse is something that can be evoked on you and can continue from generation to generation. Bishop gave scenarios of fam-

ilies carrying the same health problems, from generation to generation. He also made mention of situations where some people always begin great projects but never complete them and pointed out that when this goes on from generation to generation, it is a generational curse. As the

Bishop continued his message he engaged the congregation into scripture after scripture. One outstanding passage of scripture that he read was taken from Deuteronomy 28:1, which reads: “And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all His commandments, which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God WILL SET THEE ON HIGH ABOVE ALL NATIONS OF THE EARTH.” He went to Deuteronomy 28:15 in which it says: “But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all His commandments and His statutes, which I command thee this day;that all these curses shall come upon thee.” Bishop Foster told the congregation that it was time to get from under the curse and emerge under the blessings. He then followed up with Proverb 26:2, 2 Corinthians 9:8, Joshua 7:1, Malachi 3:5, 9:10, Numbers 12:1-9, Exodus 20-1:5, Romans 1:20, Galatians 1:9, emphasizing very much these verses of scripture, showing the effectiveness of the Word of God to help us renounce curses and to bless ours lives.

t was a very special occasion and a spectacular time in the Lord, as Bronx Miracle Gospel Tabernacle: Word of Faith Ministries Pastor and Overseer, Bishop Dr. Rabbi Keith Elijah Thompson, was anointed with oil and had his feet washed by Sister Andrea Thompson Harris. After 45 minutes of a worshipful celebration, the Bishop took his place on the podium. Bishop Thompson read Psalm 91 with the congregation repeating thereafter, after which the Bishop assured them saying, “When God favors you; you are well favored.” The power of the Holy Ghost manifested throughout the sanctuary as Bishop Thompson delivered an inspirational message. Bishop made special prayer for his congregation, addressing specific needs of those in the Body of Christ, the people of Haiti, and the entire world. He also gave his blessing to the Good News Chronicles, as he stood for its success in carrying the good news across the globe.

Mountain Top Experience By: Samantha Bulgin

aught up, in the matchless freedom that is in knowing the Lord, the saints of Oneness Pentecostal Tabernacle (OPT) celebrated the name of Jesus with more than a timbrel and a dance. In a spirit of togetherness, OPT youngsters moved about the aisles in high elation, directing their voices to heaven with much excitement and shouts of joy. What a beautiful sight to behold— shaking all and every limb, a corroboration of young adults, teenagers, pre-teens and children offering unto our God, unrestricted sacrifices of praise. Effortlessly, the OPT Youth Ministry kept Jesus at the forefront of the service, and the powerful presence of God radiated throughout the sanctuary, bringing even the most reserved and “dignified” saint to a lifting of the hand and a scanty of the feet. Sunday, January 10, 2010 (during both morning worship services), the saints of OPT were shocked and astound as youth leaders Kevin Easington (22), Shawna Abrahams (25), Randall Duperval (20), Jesse Williams (19) and Alicia Williams (18) ministered to a congregation of about 300, proving themselves unashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Believing in God’s power and abil-

ity within them, the youth and children engaged their faith by speaking to the problems of adults, commanding circumstances and unwanted issues to get in line with the Word of God. And as they prayed, with much authority, confidence and even firmness, young prayer warriors were discovered amongst them. Their endeavors, God honored— His healing virtue flowed through them and more than five adults reported healing from physical aliments, as a result. At the end of the service, an altar call was made and people in-need gathered in response. The OPT Youth Ministry interceded for them all and proved themselves to be soul winners for Christ. Seven people were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and two people were filled with the Holy Ghost. Of the seven baptized, 2 were children and 5 were adults. Of those who received the Holy Ghost, 1 was a child, the other an adult. This youth-led event was inspired

by The Covenant Class: “Extreme Mountain Top Experience”; a 3-day conference (January 8th-January 10th) directed by Pastor Alan Schizacek from the Pentecostals of Alexandria (POA) church, located in Alexandria, Louisiana. The focal mission

defining this 3-day journey, surrounds motivating Sunday school teachers and parents to prepare youth and children for work in the ministry by increasing their involvement in worship services and other influential Christian activity. The Covenant Class ministry openly acknowledges the children of today as the leaders of tomorrow and therefore envision and promote God’s plan of salvation being fulfilled in and through their little hands and innocent hearts. Underlying the Covenant Class approach, lies the belief that as a child experiences with ministry, their relationship with Jesus Christ is strengthened unto adulthood and subsequently, they learn to prefer the identity of God rather than the identity of the world. Also noted, as children participate in ministry, their perception of the workings of God develops, which undoubtedly increases their faith. Supporting their view, the Covenant Class developed systematic strategies to capture the minds and hearts of children and youth by training them to pray effectively and entertain the presence of God, setting in motion their expected, satisfying journey with our Lord. Assistant Pastor, Alec Mitchell termed the experience as “tremendous”. He reports, “it was fulfilling to see children become involved in ministry and find their place in God.” As OPT Youth Ministry member, Janel Mitchell (24) states, “The experience was very necessary. We witnessed the power of a child’s faith. We also learned creative ways to maximize our outreach to children. The Covenant Class Ministry was very inspirational and “out-of-the-box”. Through this event, we learn that we can ad-

vance the kingdom of God, by utilizing a multiplicity of methods. Efforts made to integrate the cooperation and participation of youth and children, making them a part of the evangelism team deems positive. As the youth and children of OPT enacted the teachings absorbed by the Covenant Class on January 10, 2010, they were victors. They cooperated with one another and with the Holy Ghost within them, and coordinated an unforgettable worship service unto our Savior. Born In The Untied States, With A Love For Haiti

By Pojanee “PJ” Fleury Yes it is true that I was born in the United States, it is also true that for the past year and a half I have been completely engaged in Haiti’s needs, beauty, and history. As a first generation Haitian-American, I was raised on the food, the customs, and the caring spirit of the Haitian people. From a young age, I remember my parents packing and shipping barrels of food, clothes, and goods like flashlights, shaving razors, etc. My parents also sent winter clothes and coots to the Salvation Army and Goodwill Industries regularly. There was never any waste of resources and believe me I learned the value of saving and being thrifty. I particularly remember the joy that was expressed when family and friends called to say they received the barrels that were sent. Oh, what happiness was exchanged through the phone only 3 hours away, but decades and maybe centuries away from true relief from the country’s political and economic state. I was forced into action to help the people of my ancestral home when news hit that some places in Haiti had reached a point where there was virtually no food and no re-

sources in sight to have access to food creating a famine crisis. I thought that it was the lowest point that the country could face and I was very distributed by this situation. It kept me up at night, worrying constantly about the future of my mother country. I wondered how we, in the Americas, could allow such a thing to happen. Moved to action, I founded an organizing committee called Haiti’s Hungry Task Force May 2008. One of our goals was to launch a S.O.S to bring awareness to the brewing crisis in Haiti. With our efforts we were able to get airtime on the African American Media Network and Radio Pa Nou. The organizing committee came together in Brooklyn, NY. I felt that there should be a group of people and organizations with a commitment to helping the country’s most affected by the famine crisis to secure consistent food and nutritional resources. It is my understanding that human beings needs are very basic, the most important one being nutrition. Without proper nutrition, our brain and bodily system do not function properly, making every other activity impossible – from learning in school to taking care of one’s health. I assembled a team and we went to work for the people of Haiti. Through my work and travels, many people would say to me: “Wow! You are working to help the people of Haiti and you weren’t even born there!?!” It is a reaction that is bittersweet. On the one hand, I felt pride in what I had set out to accomplish in the country I love. And on the other, I wondered why this was such an anomaly. Why weren’t more Haitian-Americans working for the betterment of the country? And why other people in the Western Hemisphere, with Haitian ancestry or not, were not aware of the problem and working or even willing

Prayer: “Living FREE From Worry”

to make a change? We play video games where we save the world, visit Facebook to chat with friends, and get jobs to buy our heart’s desire but forget to help?? Now, this is in no way a point-the-finger, holier-thanthou statement but a call the ACTION! In this server tragedy, people around the world have gotten the chance to wake and understand what happens when we leave a large group people without adequate resources. They end up in despair and one major disaster could cripple the people on a tremendous level. The Haitian community needs more than just your gently used clothes, shoes and other materials or a $5 dollar donation here, $10 over there. This is not the way we are going to make a difference, while it will provide relief during the coming months, it will not help rebuild the country and piece back the broken spirits of the countrymen that had been left out of the development in the Western World. It is the time for us to come together to ensure the proper resources are implemented in the country for long-term growth and stability. We cannot simply leave it to major corporations to assist a historically milestone country that has had an affect on all of our lives. Let’s make the choice to support local organizations and community leaders dedicated to the rebuilding of Haiti. One organization making a difference is Haitian American Care, Inc. Haitian-American Care, Inc. (HACI) is a non-profit organization formed in 2008 to improve the health, education and welfare of the less fortunate people of Haiti. Over the past 2 years, the organization set up mobile clinics in Port-Au-Prince, supplying the clinics with medicine and medical personnel. The mission of HACI is to provide and improve the health status of the less fortunate Haitians as well as providing accessi-

we delight in you and your perfect will, that which concerns us. We cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of You, and we bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Jesus Christ. We lay aside every weight and the sins of worry, which does so easily try to beset us. We run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. We thank you, Father that you are able to keep that which we have committed unto you. We think on and fix our minds on those things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, praiseworthy and virtuous. We will not let our hearts be troubled. We abide in Your word, and Your word abides in us. Therefore Father, we do not forget what manner of person we were. We are looking into the perfect law of liberty and continue therein, being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the word and thus, blessed in our doing. Thank you Father that we are carefree. We walk in that peace that passes all understanding, in Jesus name: Amen. Reverend Linus Baptiste, Lifestyle Global Prayer Ministries

LIFESTYLE GLOBAL PRAYER MINISTRIES Grace be unto you and peace, from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine, for you all making request with joy, your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Father I thank you that I have been delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of your dear Son, Jesus. I commit to live free from worry in the name of Jesus, for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. I humble myself under your mighty hand, that in due time, you may exalt your people. We cast all of our cares, all of our worries, all of our concerns, once and for all on you. You care for us affectionately and care about us watchfully; forever You sustain us. You will never allow the consistently righteous to be moved—made to slip, fall, or fail. Father

bility to quality education and food security to those affected by the widespread famine. At this time of the terrible disaster in Haiti, HACI assembled a team to go to Haiti to reinstate the mobile clinics in PortAu-Prince by delivering medications and reassembling the medical team that had been working there prior to the earthquake. The team left with security personnel on January 25, 2010. The team will be there until February 3, 2010, only to gear up to return with additional resources March 27-April 2, 2010 – for which we are asking for volunteers to join us, especially those with medical training. Please donate all you can to organizations like HACI. I will keep you updated on the implemented programs and resources HCAI will be providing to the Haitian community both in Haiti and here in the States.

Immigration Reform & Border Control

Over the decades, the Immigration and Naturalization Services (INS), has dealt with myriads of immigration issues, as the United States (US), the land of opportunity, continue to receive millions of immigrants flowing into its borders seeking personal, economic and political freedom. As such, the US has had to constantly revise its policies and practices to keep abreast of the ever-changing needs of the immigration system. Since 9/11, however, our immigration policies have evolved past a purely citizenship focus to now include a national security and anti-terrorism concern. This article will look at the emergence of the Enhanced Border Security and Visa Entry Reform Act of 2002 and the circumstances and debates that led up to its existence. In a world prior to 9/11, immigration laws and amendments were in response to the shifting immigration needs of a growing and changing population, and were mostly concerned with the problem of illegal immigration, and how to best mange it. During times of quietude, laws were gradually developed through ongoing debates by national commissions, with conflicting data, varying theories of social sciences, and lengthy legislative processes. Following the events of September 11, 2001, the discussions surrounding our immigration laws were never the same again. The terror attacks forced quick changes in the immigration dialogue provoking swift implementation of new laws, policies and changes in agencies dealing with immigration and border crossing. The focus shifted considerably to identifying dangerous products and people (such as terror suspects

abroad), and efforts to keep them out of the country, while facilitating the essential free flow of legitimate commerce, citizens, and authorized visitors. As one of the foremost legislative reactions to the terror attacks, the Enhanced Border Security and Visa Entry Reform Act of 2002 (often called the visa tracking law), was drawn up in December 2001. The key sponsors of this bill were Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Jon Kyl (R-AZ), Edward Kennedy (D-MA) and Sam Brownback (RKS), and Representatives James Sensenbrenner (R-WI) and George Gekas (R-PA). Under the circumstances, the bill was met with minimal debate at its hearing before Congress. According to the Library of Congress, the bill was introduced and passed in the House on December 19, and agreed to by voice vote. By April 18, it was passed and agreed to in the Senate with a vote of 97-0 and by May 8, the differences were resolved in the House, and it was cleared for the White House then presented to the President. In May 2002, President George W. Bush signed the Enhanced Border Security and Visa Entry Reform Act of 2002 into law (Public law No. 107-173) as agreed to and passed by both Houses of the 107th Congress (thomas.gov), to enhance border security under a US immigration reform, with renewed attempts to control undocumented immigration. Among its provisions, this bill required tamper-resistant, machine-readable travel documents, biometric identifiers and implemented new procedures to review visa applications so as to restrict visas from countries that sponsor terrorism. This Act allows for funding in support of additional immigration and inspection staff with higher pay rates, improved training and cross-training between agencies to increase security on the Canadian and Mexican borders. Realizing that the effective implementation of border and transportation security measures requires the participation of numerous agencies, this law also has provision for making all information about a particular alien accessible with one single search, due to interoperable databases within the immigration agencies. Under this Act there is also an improvement of interagency sharing between the State Department, federal law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and immigration agencies. According to Rosemarie Jenks of the Center for Immigration Studies, the bill “sends the right message: The United States must regain control over our borders and ports of entry, and we expect our border con-

trol agencies to carry out their duty to protect our nation and citizens from those who seek to exploit our generosity.” This new Enhanced Border Security Act has been criticized by some as nothing more than a war on terrorism, which has become a war on immigrants, an attack on highly educated foreign students, and a target on people of particular nationalities in the name of national security. The tragedies of 9/11 have magnified the weaknesses of our immigration system and border security. However, as a follow-up to this Enhanced Border Security and Visa Entry Reform Act we can take a closer look at immigration and border crossing policies to address the loopholes, with a determination to be more thorough and proactive in developing future policies. During our next series of articles, we will look at the challenges to win Immigration Reform and how to keep this vital issue alive. Gilford T. Monrose is the Pastor of the historical Mt. Zion Church of God (7th Day) in Brooklyn, New York. NEW YORK IMMIGRATION REFORM UPDATE & CALENDAR OF EVENTS

POLITICAL UPDATE President Obama in his State of the Union address to the nation used under 40 words to briefly mention Comprehensive Immigration Reform. This is not an encouraging signal. During the next few weeks, it is critical for concern citizens and immigration organizations to meet and discuss and strategize around this new political reality. Immigration Reform is going to be in jeopardy if the supporters of the bill stay silent. Here are some upcoming events and actions you should support to escalate the urgency level in New York and the country. FEB 15-19TH: NY ROAD TRIP FOR OUR FUTURE: IMMIGRATION REFORM NOW This is a major statewide action with plans to travel across New York State gaining followers and supporters at each stop. Travelers will be welcomed at each stop and Congressional Representatives will be used to support CIR in their district. The road trip will stop in Buffalo, Syracuse, Carmel, NYC and Bay Ridge (to name a few). JOIN US! Go to www.nyimmigrationreform.org or email fliu@thenyic.org for more information.

Families For Freedom and Churches United to Save and Heal (CUSH) on Sunday, February 21st, 2010, 3pm-5pm in the Community Room at the New York Congregational Home, 123 Linden Blvd in Brooklyn – will join families facing deportation, community and religious leaders, and your local and national elected officials. FREE legal consultation will be provided by calling (646) 290-5551 or (718) 469-8900. Next Steps This is a critical time in the Immigration Reform Movement and there is a need for more grassroots leadership on immigration reform from within the different ethnic communities. IS THE DOOR OF YOUR LIFE OPEN TO SATAN?

H _ _ V _ _.

The kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan generally operate by legal rights or open doorways. Unless we open the door of our lives to God, He can’t come in to our lives to be our personal Savior, healer and deliverer. That is why Jesus said in Revelation 3:20, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me." If you don't allow Him in, He won’t come in. Have you invited Jesus to be your Savior, healer and deliverer? If you haven’t, please open the door of your life to Him now. In the same way, the Devil generally can’t come into your life except the door is open to him. Unlike God, who only comes in by your personal prayer of invitation, there are many ways the door can be opened to Satan. Some of those ways are through thoughts and actions most people think are harmless. Some of the problems and demonic attacks we experience are as a direct result of doors that have been opened to Satan unknowingly. Unless you close those doors, the devil has a legal right to operate in your life and to steal, kill and destroy any blessing that is in your life. The first step to take in receiving deliverance from all demonic attacks and problems is making sure all doors are closed to Satan. How can you close doors unless you know what has open the door to the enemy in your life? Here is a list of things that opens the door to the devil. 1. So much drama—life that is. Periods of mishaps, tragedies, unsatisfaction, unemployment, backsliding, confusion, sickness, unexpected circumstances, one behind the other. The cultivation of “the great testimony” is as such, many lows, few highs, trouble, minimizing of ability, spiritual decay, scraps/wounds to the soul, continued loneliness. No one understands; some say they do but they really don’t. As remedy/support you resort to what you’ve learned—you reach out to/for GOD. Seeking confirmation from the overcomer and the restored, do you agree that somewhere in between the endless crying and repenting, as you’ve called upon His ever-working name, you found Him bringing you along, addressing what needed to be addressed, burning what needed to be burned, revealing all that was to be revealed—providing comfort, strength and love, that you may not be utterly cast down or consumed? What I’ve gathered thus far is this—the testimony GOD has called over your life is appointed and time-certain (for if you esteem the will of the Lord for your life, then everything is appointed and time-certain). And what an intelligent GOD He is, that with every testimonial avenue He’s ordained for us to walk, all lead to one true statement, one revelation indeed…There is nobody like our Jesus…. Do you believe there are millions of these streamlines/paths of what seems to be “stress”, orchestrated by Him to bring us all to the same place of knowing? He is so intelligent, the greatest scientist ever. Before exiting the “valley”

N

as some would call it, did you find that in the season of trying and danger, GOD did not forsake you, neither did He fail you? Instead He has used these circumstances endured on the testimonial ride, to elevate your spirituality and sensitivity towards Him-- all to make you greater—as your mind now knows of who and what you will forever belong to—the Lord. And knowing this, you have purchased for yourself residence into land of “no-limits”—the land of unwavering faith. Your testimonial trials are the avenues to you being “souled out”. For indeed, during the “time-out”, your life has seen the faithfulness, loving kindness, forgiving touch of the Lord…the compassion, strengthening, rebuke of the Lord… the restoring, excellency, intelligence of the Lord…the supremacy, assurance and awesomeness of the Lord…All at one time! All at once. Within the emotional parts of the Testimony, you behold GOD as He fathers your life. Without these “off seasons” your peripheral vision concerning the depths of GOD would be poor. It’s often hard to do, but do it anyhow… thank GOD for your struggle and down-times. Although it’s ego breaking and humbling, you will walk out of it with treasures of knowledge and gratitude unto GOD, who has and will honor your prayers and every time you call upon His “aboveall” name. GOD works for us all… the good saint, the bad one, the confused one, the sad one. He has not left you, nor will he ever. This too will pass and you will find yourself better than before. Whether you called the drama on your life yourself, or it just fell on your head (surely not by accident) watch GOD fight and work to ultimately save your soul, and you will see that you are and were not forgotten. Love you.

Confessions of Contact with the Occult Father, I confess to You, that in the past, through ignorance, curiosity or willfulness, I have come into contact with certain occult things. I now recognize this as sin and confess it as sin and claim forgiveness in Jesus’ Name. Specifically I do confess as sin and I reject, revoke and renounce all contacts and membership with the following occult things and associations: {name all that come to mind} I also renounce, revoke and confess as sin any false oaths, which I may have made to any false god and any idolatry in which I have been involved in Jesus name. I break any covenant binding me with any of these evil associations, in name of Jesus. I bind the demons attached to these covenants and cast them into the deep, in the name of Jesus. I break and cancel every evil mark, incision, writing placed in my spirit and body as a result of my membership of the evil associations with the blood of Jesus and purify my body, soul and spirit with the Holy Ghost fire, in the name of Jesus. I break and dismantle every hindrance, obstacle or blockage put in my way of progress by my involvement in these evil associations, in the name of Jesus. I reject all the evil works I have done to innocent people through my membership with these evil association and ask the Almighty God to forgive me and wash me clean with the blood of Jesus. God’s Master Plan For Your Life “The thoughts that I have towards you is of good and not of evil to give you an expected end.” (KJV) Jer. 29:11. It is God’s intentions, and divine will for you to seek, and find your purpose in this life. Have you ever wondered, even pondered, what the will of God is for your life? You felt the tug, urgency, a pull within your spirit, and the desire for the next level, however, you were uncertain or unsure, where to begin and how to start. Questions about your purpose here on earth plague you, and your conscience relied on, how do I bring this passion of Christ into fruition? Beloved, don’t be dismayed, uneasy, discontent, frustrated, neither incomplete? God’s question to you is, “Will thou be made whole?” (KJV) Jn. 5:6. God wants to fill every void and emptiness in you by you doing his pleasure. In the midst of your imperfection, God sees you as his master plan. He looks at you as good work that is already finished. “So God created man into his own image, in the image of God created he him. And God blessed them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth …” (KJV) Gen. 1:27, 28. Though you may make mistakes, and display imperfections. “It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.” (KJV) Ps. 18:32. Consider the desire, and will to strive which he placed in your heart. The bible declares that, “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before you camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee…” (KJV) Jer. 1:5. God selected and orchestrated you for his plan, even before you were thought of. Yes, through lives experiences that brought you turmoil, distress, disappointments, shame, hardship, defame mishap, and devastation. “All things work together for good to them that love the Lord to they who are called according to his purpose.” (KJV) Rom. 8:28. God still chose you to be a valuable asset his kingdom. God always shows you the ending before the beginning. He

won’t fail to unfold the light at the end of the tunnel. However, consider others in the Bible who was called for purpose, such as, Job, David, Esther, Daniel, Ruth, Jeremiah and more. Their stories may have differed, but their battles were for the same cause, they are the “called out.” Take David, “It was good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy (his) stature.” (KJV) Ps. 119:71. The father looks beyond your circumstances, and what you have gone through, and how you are doing, and he sees your strength. Every disappointment is a God appointment. He visions his plan, and then he sets the stage for your purpose. He is aware and knows that you are equipped to do what he calls you to do. “But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.” (KJV) Job 23:10. Granted, despise not days of struggle, they are days of favor, because you are a chosen vessel. In this process perhaps, you asked yourself, why me? It is precisely because God has called and chose you. “So the last shall be first, and the first shall be last: for many are called but few chosen.” (KJV) Matt. 20:16. God’s timing is never your timing. It is a process. It takes your cooperation and diligence for his plans to progress in your life. During this stage you may feel weighed down, growing pains, and the modification of the father’s push. His goal is to thrust you where he wants you; in his perfect will. “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” (KJV) Ps. 32:8. In the mean time, you will want to interrogate God in prayers for answers, direction, and clarity on your chosen purpose. “… Brethren give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if you do these things, ye shall never fall.” (KJV) 2 Pet. 1:10. God wants you to draw even closer to him during your time of cultivation.

“…Men ought always pray, and not faint.” (KJV) Luke18:1. I believe that when you consistently pray he will expose you to yourself, whether it is good, bad, worthy or unworthy. Prayer is communication with God and it results in a growing and flourishing relationship with you and the father. “Pray without ceasing.” (KJV) 1 Thess. 5:17. Prayer will assist God with the divine transformation on what God wants from, and out of you (the absolute best). Furthermore, be certain, and be clear of where, and what, he wants you to do, stay yourself. We are all unique and original, be the best you, you could ever be. Do the lords work in integrity, diligence, grace, sincerity, enthusiasm, love, consistence, so that he will be glorified, and pleased. “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” (KJV) Col. 3:16 Allow your gift, and characteristic to draw souls for the kingdom. There are so many gifts and talent in the kingdom, one of these might be yours, find your niche; a prayer warrior, leader, pastor, minister, teacher, life coach, evangelist, watchman on the wall, singer, praise dancer, administration, outreach ministry, entertainment, hospitality, server, secretary, helps, encourager, an armor bearer, counselor, driver, and so much more. “A man’s gift maketh room for him and bringeth him before great men.” (KJV) Prov. 18:16. Use what you have, and stay in your calling. It will open doors of possibilities. “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: …” (KJV) Eph. 4:11-13 God is faithful and just to fulfill his perfect will for your life. Therefore, you must adjust, adhere, obey, and prepare. Be sure to remain under right leadership, and receive

S

the mentor who God has place over you. Be ready, receptive, attentive, to digest every word of instructions given for your life’s purpose. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (KJV) Prov. 3:5, 6 Though you might get dreary and weary; do not sleep in this process. You are in the stage of anticipation and waiting. Spiritually, your leader is gearing you up, and he or she is taking you some where; a place you have never been. It is called another dimension of God’s phenomenon exploits. “… But the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits.” (KJV) Dan. 11:32. Believer let nothing deter, distract, and lure you from your place of dwelling; you will need this place of refuge for birthing. Walk in the obedience of God. Acknowledge and reverence those who he place as shepherds over your soul. If not you may reap serious consequences and repercussions. Stay on the right path, in other words, when you are told to go, or do something line up with God’s word (the way), do not chose to do the contrary, (your own pleasure). As a result, this will lead to destruction for your life. “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat.” (KJV) Matt. 7:13. Listen to wise counsel and receive instructions from authority. During your phase of preparation this phase is imperative. Do get all, and keep all of the Godly substance, deposits and investments that are imparted, carved out, costumed made for your life. God’s purpose must be fulfilled and manifested in your life. God’s master plan is to materialize his will and power in you. “… Thy will to be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” (KJV) Matt. 6:10 To be continued…
