CALLED TO FORGIVE In his book “Answers To 200 Life’s Most Probing Questions”, Pat Robertson made a great quote: “Lack of forgiveness blocks access to the Kingdom and to miracle power.” Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift (Matthew 5:23-24). There is always a consequence for our actions. If we cause offence, someone will feel hurt. If we make wrong choices in our lives, one way or another there will be a consequence. However, there is a spiritual law in God’s Kingdom that overrides the universal law of cause and effect. It deals with hurt and reverses the damaging process that offence can cause. It all started at the cross. “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34). Even though Jesus was humiliated, despised, abandoned, tortured and eventually crucified, His love for people overcame the hurt, the offence, the pain. Jesus chose to forgive His accusers and His enemies. Out of the love that the Father has for Him, Jesus was able to take that step. We too are called to forgive, and ask for forgiveness if we caused offence to someone. Is it easy? No. Is it painless? No. Is it dealing with our pride? Perhaps. What it certainly does is open a way for His miraculous power to work. When forgiveness is given and received, it causes healing and life in abundance that Jesus Himself purchased for us at the cross. I pray your month will be blessed greatly as you operate in His laws of forgiveness! R|03

FORGIVENESS POURED OUT Gordon Robertson The secret to staying in the Spirit
Scripture is quoted from the New King James Version.
R|04
BLOOM |
Our lives should overflow with the Holy Spirit so much that we are infectious spreading God’s presence wherever we go. Yet why is the Spirit’s flow hindered sometimes? One obvious blockage is sin. The good news is that we simply need to repent and turn to Jesus, and He will cleanse and restore us. Another major hindrance is unforgiveness. We may feel justifed in holding a grudge because someone hurt us, stole from us, mocked or betrayed us. Yet Jesus says, “If you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in Heaven may also forgive you” (Mark 11:25). While I was living in the Philippines, a man betrayed me in a big way. It was tempting to daydream about getting even. Fortunately, I had to leave for India, where I was supposed to minister with evangelist D.G.S. Dhinakaran. When he looked at my countenance, however, he said, “You are not ready to minister to anybody right now.” When you hold onto an offence, bitterness gets deep in your spirit. It affects what you say and do, and you can’t minister to anyone. He gave me the verse, I pour out my complaint before Him (Psalm 142:2). He explained that this doesn’t mean you complain to God; rather, you pour out your complaint before Him—and as you do, forgive. Then he looked at me and said gently, “When Jesus was betrayed He said, ‘Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do’ (Luke 23:34)”. He added, “Jesus
poured out his forgiveness for them, and at that point He entered into His greatest ministry.” Those words changed my life. I have learned that the secret to staying in the flow of the Spirit is to continue to forgive. Something amazing happens when you say, “I’m not going to hold that against them anymore,” and you release forgiveness toward those who hurt you. Once you get in the habit, you can quickly sense dislocation in your relationships and take steps to make things right. Pour unforgiveness out of your spirit and out of your heart—and if it ever comes back into your memory, pour it out again.
“THE SECRET TO STAYING IN THE FLOW OF THE SPIRIT IS TO CONTINUE TO FORGIVE.” Offences will come into your life; yet Ephesians 4:26-27 says, “Do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.” Ask the Lord to look into the secret places of your heart and reveal anything hidden or forgotten that is not pleasing to Him. Let nothing come between you and God. That’s when the refreshing oil of the Holy Spirit can be poured into you and overflow to others. God bless you. R|05

PETER DARG
Visionary and Pioneer
Pat Robertson and Peter Darg , Israel-Lebanon border.
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:14 NKJV. This is the inscription engraved in the stone above CBN’s main entrance, as a permanent reminder of God’s mandate for CBN’s ministry. The 1st of October 1961 was the day that CBN first went on the air with a daily, live broadcast. What later became the longest running Christian magazine show named The 700 Club, started out with the vision of one man to share the Gospel through media. Pat Robertson, a pioneer and visionary in heart and soul, had the vision and faith to see beyond the obstacles and challenges. This determination and R|06
solid belief that God would make a way, has resulted in millions of viewers across the world tuning in to daily, Christian programming in a language they understand. God uses men and women who are sold out for His Kingdom to achieve His purposes in this earth. Names that come to mind are Billy Graham, Reinhard Bonnke, Smith Wigglesworth and many others who have made the Gospel their mission as God used them to reach the multitudes. Peter Darg is one of these pioneers and visionaries. In the late seventies Peter and his wife Christine were asked by Pat to establish a news bureau for CBN in Jerusalem. A purposedriven, strategic journey began which,

besides raising a young family in Israel, involved extensive travelling through the Middle East. Peter and Christine also spent five years in Africa as part of Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke’s international team. The strong love for Israel and Jerusalem remained as Peter and Christine founded Exploits Ministry, sharing the Gospel with Jews and Arabs. When Peter and his family returned to his native England, they moved to the beautiful surroundings of Herefordshire, where Peter pioneered CBN’s ministry in the United Kingdom and Europe. Not long after CBN began daily broadcasts of The 700 Club in the UK and Republic of Ireland, the ministry started to grow as partners joined to pray for and support CBN’s ministry, and the 700 Club Prayer Line was launched, offering a life line to callers from the UK and Europe. Besides establishing and growing CBN’s ministry and impact in Europe, the Lord used Peter to launch the French-language Le Club 700 into French speaking countries in Africa. The programme now reaches millions of viewers in 22 African countries. In 2005, Peter founded CBN’s office in Hamburg, Germany, ministering to German-speaking Europe with the weekly German Club 700 programme.
“GOD USES MEN AND WOMEN WHO ARE SOLD OUT FOR HIS KINGDOM TO ACHIEVE HIS PURPOSES.”
Today, CBN Europe is a thriving and growing ministry that impacts viewers in the United Kingdom, Europe and beyond through daily programming of the Gospel and humanitarian relief projects. Thanks to the thousands of supporting partners CBN is able to share the Gospel in a relevant way, touching thousands of lives each day.
To meet Peter and his wife Christine, join us for a time of thanksgiving and celebration on Saturday 29th of October. FORGIVENESS
Imitating Jesusʼ Attitudes Sometimes one of the hardest things to do is to forgive someone who has hurt you. After all, we live in a world that when we forgive someone it means that we are giving up, that we’re over the hurt, that the hurt that they caused doesn’t matter anymore.
Jesus reminds us of another important reason to forgive. “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins” (Matthew 6:14-15).
God wants to open your eyes to the true heart of forgiveness. God teaches us to never forget that the ultimate forgiveness came for our sins on a cross.
“OUR GOAL AS CHRISTIANS IS TO BE LIKE CHRIST. HE FORGAVE US, WHICH MEANS WE CAN FORGIVE OTHERS”
When it comes to forgiving others it’s not a matter of giving up, but we are giving them to God. His justice, mercy and grace. If we, in all our imperfection and disobedience, can be forgiven, then we must forgive others. Ephesians 4:32 says, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Our goal as Christians is to be like Christ. He forgave us, which means we can forgive others. We can do this because the debt has been paid. This is a powerful and equipping truth. R|08
Forgiveness is for our benefit and freedom. We experience forgiveness in direct proportion to our willingness to forgive others. God wants us to live an immeasurably blessed life through Him. Don’t let those blessings be hindered by living in bitterness and resentment toward others.
CBN STORIES |
FREE SURGERY On July 15, 2015, Brenda Sipes Wade was getting on the slip road to go home, when she saw the cars in front of her had stopped. “I put on my brakes really quickly and I had no brakes. I just – I thought I’m going to crash into him. And I did. It wasn’t a couple of minutes after that ‘til my neck really started hurting,” says Brenda. After an MRI and x-rays confirmed she had no had broken bones, her emergency room doctors gave her a neck brace and sent her home. Afterwards, she was in constant pain. “That’s the only way I could keep from the headache and the back of the neck hurting was wearing the neck brace. I finally got it situated when I went to bed at night to where I could wear the neck brace while I was in bed.” For two months, she went to her chiropractor three times a week. But the pain would not go away.
“IT WAS A MIRACLE. WHEN IT SHOWS YOUʼVE HAD SURGERY AND YOU HAVENʼT.”
On September 4th, she was at home, watching The 700 Club. “Gordon said, ‘There is someone. You are laying your right hand on the back of your neck. You have recurring headaches from it, recurring pain shooting into your right shoulder, and God has healed you.’ “It described exactly how I felt. And I said, ‘That’s for me, Lord. Thank You, thank You, thank You,’” says Brenda. “Instantly moved my head and neck, and I had no more pain.” Two weeks later, her doctor called her with the results from a follow-up MRI. “And he said, ‘They say your surgery was successful.’ And I said, ‘You know I did not have surgery. I’ve not had surgery on my neck.’ He said, ‘Well, you had a surgeon that’s not of this earth.’ I said, “You’re right. God’s been so good.”

FEEDING THE HUNGRY CBN Partners Deliver Food
Beyond our shores, hunger is a global problem— from areas of drought and famine in Africa, to Middle East towns ravaged by war, to places of disaster or destitution in Asia and Latin America. According to the World Food Programme, some 795 million people in the world do not have enough food to lead a healthy active life. That’s about one in nine people on earth. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), estimates that one in nine people worldwide go to bed hungry—with 14 percent of U.S. families struggling to put food on the table. And about 15.3 million children under age 18 aren’t getting enough R|10
nutrition to stay healthy. CBN’s outreaches are there, combatting hunger in various ways. Last year, it was estimated that our partners provided food, shelter, education, medical care, job training, and Christian discipleship through CBN’s Orphan’s Promise, to over 100,000 at-risk children in 61 countries. By bringing nutritious meals to schools and orphanages, as well as offering humanitarian aid and vocational classes for parents, more children and families are thriving. In addition, CBN has teams that install wells and irrigation systems that enable people to grow their own food.
GLOBAL IMPACT |
And worldwide, Operation Blessing International provides hunger relief through feeding programmes for malnourished children. They also offer families the tools and training to start home farms and businesses, and escape starvation. For example, in El Salvador, a widow named Alba was trying to support her 11-year-old son Morris and his younger brother. She earned little doing domestic chores— often going for weeks without a job. Once when Morris babysat his brother, the only food in the house was an egg. Morris cooked it, and went hungry so his brother could eat. Alba said, “I couldn’t take it... I felt like a terrible mother because my children were suffering.”
“95 MILLION PEOPLE IN THE WORLD DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH FOOD TO LEAD A HEALTHY ACTIVE LIFE.”
Finally, Morris prayed for God to help them. Just days later, Operation Blessing heard about their situation—and brought them emergency meals. They learned that Alba had dreamed of selling food for a living. A week later, they brought her a mobile cart, and cooking supplies! She is now making a profit, and everyone at home has plenty to eat. She says, “ Thanks for the help you brought us—you are a blessing!” Because you care, CBN is there for those in crisis in many other ways. Your support brings emergency aid, life-changing surgeries, disaster relief, and more—while sharing the Gospel through The 700 Club and CBN’s ministry outreaches. Thank you for standing with us!

THROUGH YOUR SUPPORT: #French Africa The Prayer Centres received over 14,600 calls, emails, letters, online chats, and text messages. Additionally, 32,793 people heard the Gospel in evangelistic outreaches.
#Cambodia He was only 9, and he was ashamed whenever he opened his mouth to speak. Seanghark was born with a cleft palate, and his classmates and neighbours mocked how he sounded. His mother Sokleab was desperate to get an operation for her son. But she and her husband were poor Cambodian rice farmers who could barely feed their family. She feared for her son’s destiny. And then, a visiting pastor told the couple about CBN’s Life-Changing Surgery project. Thanks to generous partners like you, this little boy received the operation he needed—free of charge! Today, Seanghark has a new smile—and Sokleab says gratefully, “Because of your love, Seanghark has a new life to live, with a bright future!”
#Nigeria The pain from Sharif ’s scars was a reminder of the day when he played too close to a candle. After being hospitalised for 4 months, Sharif went home to his Nigerian village. His scars were so thick, he could barely move without agony. And then, CBN partners were there to help. We provided major corrective surgery that loosened the constricting scar tissue. Soon, Sharif was outside, running and playing with his brother! His dad says, “We are so thankful. ... You didn’t know us, but you helped my son. God bless you!” R|13

A FORGIVING HEART Andrea Morgan| CBN UK Prayer Centre The route to experiencing complete freedom in Christ is relating to other people in the same way God relates to us. God forgave our sins and accepted us into His family. “And I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters says the Lord Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:18 (NLT). We don’t forget past traumas, or hurt but God gives us the power to release it and walk away. So, why forgive? R|14

“I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours. But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too”. Mark 11:24-25 NLT
There are few things that keep us in bondage more than being unwilling to forgive. It keeps us tied to our past, rendering us unable to receive God’s supernatural gift of peace and joy. Possibly one of the most unambiguous verses on this topic is found in Mark 11:24-25 it says, “I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours. But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge
against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too”. If we want our prayers to be answered, it requires two things, faith and forgiving others of all offences. If we choose to cradle our grudges, prayers will be heard by God, but will remain unactioned. Jesus knew we would struggle at times to know how to pray, so he taught us. In Matthew 6:9-15 NLT version. It’s the Lord’s Prayer, and includes, “forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven R|15

those who sin against us”, and, “If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you, but if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins”.
“IF WE WANT OUR PRAYERS TO BE ANSWERED, IT REQUIRES TWO THINGS, FAITH, AND FORGIVING OTHERS OF ALL OFFENCES.” Shortly before Jesus’s betrayal and arrest, he said, “So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each R|16
other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” John 13:35. Of course Jesus had a way of reminding us that none of us are without sin, remember the woman found in the act of adultery? Her accusers wanted to stone her, until Jesus instructed the one without sin to cast the first stone. “No one is righteous, not even one”, Romans 3:10. How do we forgive? Scenario; imagine someone holding a glove loosely in one hand, that glove represents the Human Body. Now, imagine the other hand is a spirit e.g rage, violence or lust. What happens when the hand slips into the glove? The glove comes alive because it is the the hand that controls the glove. The spirit within us, be it the Holy Spirit or a demonic spirit, is responsible for, and determines our
FEATURED |
actions. The world’s focus is the outward appearance, but Jesus looks at the heart and the spirit. When we are hurt by the words and actions of others the easiest thing to do is to take offence, after all, who else is to blame? It is the person we see, they are the one responsible, aren’t they? In Ephesians 6:12 Apostle Paul says “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.’ When we accept Christ as our Lord and Heavenly Father, everything that is in Christ is, quite literally in us. As we spend ‘alone time’ with Jesus, being part of a Christian fellowship, seeking a deeper relationship with Him, His spirit supernaturally transforms us, creating in us a likeness to Christ, giving us the ability to forgive any offence at all. We have the same Holy Spirit, power and authority as Jesus had on Earth, and still has in us today. Luke 10:19 Amplified version: “Listen carefully: I have given you authority [that you now possess] to tread on serpents and scorpions, and [the ability to exercise authority] over all the power of the enemy (Satan); and nothing will [in any way] harm you”. As a child imitates his father and mother, we are called to imitate God so that the world may see the light in us and be drawn to that light. We are called to live out the Word of
God, consult our heavenly Father in everything and share the Gospel of Jesus with lost souls. The world is in darkness, like we once were.
“HIS SPIRIT SUPERNATURALLY TRANSFORMS US, CREATING IN US A LIKENESS TO CHRIST, GIVING US THE ABILITY TO FORGIVE ANY OFFENCE AT ALL.”
I look back at my life, before I had a real relationship with Christ, the transformation has been remarkably life changing. It is our testimony, and Christ’s love in us, that will win souls for Christ, snatching people out of their personal darkness. The first thing we think about God is that He is love, the reason He sent His son to win us back to Him. In him there is no darkness, in Him there is no unforgiveness. R|17

JOYCE MEYER
Interview from CBN.com
“HE IS OUR VINDICATOR AND WILL HEAL AND RESTORE US.”
Joyce Meyer is one of the world’s leading practical Bible teachers. A bestselling author, she has written more than eighty inspirational books, released thousands of audio teachings, as well as a complete video library. Joyce’s Enjoying Everyday Life radio and television programmes are broadcast around the world, and she travels extensively conducting conferences. In her book, Do Yourself a Favor…Forgive, Joyce delves into the important process of forgiveness. Why is forgiveness so important? So many people live with anger and unforgiveness, and many of them are Christians. At conferences, I have asked the crowd, “How many of you are mad at someone right now?” And it’s been amazing to me that each time, it looks like about 80-90% of the people raise their hand. So it’s a common problem that we need to confront. I know from personal experience how damaging it can be to live with bitterness and unforgiveness. I like to say it’s like taking poison R|18
INTERVIEW |
and hoping your enemy will die. And it really is that harmful to us to live this way. Why is forgiveness so difficult for us? When an injustice happens, we want to be vindicated. A lot of times, people feel that if they forgive the person who hurt them, then they will continue to take advantage of them or not take responsibility for what they did wrong. And if we’re honest, we’ll admit that we usually want the person who hurt us to pay for what they did. We can’t get past this until we get the revelation that only God can pay us back. He is our Vindicator and will heal and restore us if we will trust Him and forgive our enemies as He has told us to do. How do you know if you have truly forgiven someone? Forgiveness is not a feeling—it’s a decision we make because we want to do what’s right before God. It’s a quality decision that won’t be easy and it may take time to get through the process, depending on the severity of the offence. The first step is the desire to do it, no matter how you feel toward the person who hurt you. Then you make the decision to do it, and it’s a “quality decision,” which means it’s a firm decision that won’t change when your feelings change. The next step is to depend on the Holy Spirit to help you do what you’ve decided to do. See, just deciding to forgive isn’t enough because willpower alone won’t work— we need divine strength from God. As He gives us the strength, we need to pray for our enemies and bless them. Praying for those who have hurt us is
“FORGIVENESS IS NOT A FEELING ITʼS A DECISION WE MAKE.”
vital to successfully forgiving them. Can you forgive so much that you become a doormat? God isn’t asking us to be doormats for people to walk all over. There are going to be times when He leads you to confront someone about their bad behaviour. Forgiving others has to do with your heart attitude toward them and how you treat them. Jesus never mistreated anyone just because they mistreated Him. He confronted them in a spirit of gentleness and then continued to love them. The Bible tells us not to return evil for evil or insult for insult in 1 Peter 3:9. Romans 12:21 says we overcome evil with good. When we forgive our enemies, we are more concerned about what they are doing to themselves than what they are doing to us. R|19

THE PRODIGAL SON Creation Fest In August, the Superbook UK team was at Creation Fest, a Christian Music Festival and Bible Week held at the Royal Cornwall Events Centre in Wadebridge, Cornwal. We had an amazing time with the children there, sharing God’s truth, playing games and dancing to the Salvation Poem! To check videos and photos, visit our Superbook Kids UK Facebook page.
In this episode, Superbook takes Chris, Joy and Gizmo to ancient Galilee. Jesus tells the story of the Prodigal Son—a young man who leaves home for what he thinks is the adventure of a lifetime, only to discover that what he wants most in the world is his father’s love. The children learn about God’s unfailing love and the power of forgiveness. In the book of Jeremiah, God said that he would make a new covenant with us and that he would write his law upon our hearts. When we sin or do something that God doesn’t want us to do, we can feel a sense of guilt or sadness because his Holy Spirit is at work in our hearts. If we do something that is wrong, we need to say we’re sorry for that to our Heavenly Father. Then we need to make a decision not to do that thing anymore. If we have trouble committing that sin over and over again, we may need to ask God to give us the grace and the strength to overcome that sin. OUR PERFECT SAVIOUR Do you think your past, your personality, or problems disqualify you from being used by God? Well, you shouldn’t. It is God’s love that is perfect. It is the very essence of His character. His love covers every sin. There is nothing you did yesterday, today, or will do tomorrow that He can’t forgive. He uses all kinds of people, from all walks of life, with all kinds of issues. Moses killed a man (Exodus 2:11-15). King David was an adulterer (2 Samuel 11). Miriam was a gossip (Numbers 12). Jacob was a liar (Genesis 27:19). Jeremiah was depressed and suicidal (Lamentations 3). Sarah laughed at God’s promises (Genesis 18:12). There is nothing that disqualifies you from the love and grace of God. There are no perfect people, only our perfect Saviour. Do you need prayer?
