As we are all aware, new variants of COVID-19 and/or other new worldwide pandemics are being forecasted in the years ahead. With that in mind, AIM has given this serious consideration and has made a decision to discontinue future gatherings of AIM Members and AIM staff, in order to maintain the safest possible environment for all. To be clear, AIM is discontinuing future Celebration-type events.

However, there is GOOD NEWS! Thanks to you, the AIM Members, product unit volumes continue to grow year over year, especially in 2020, which has added to the bottom-line net profit for The AIM Companies™.

In consideration of this good news, AIM has decided to update the Member Income Plan and cash incentive contests by reinvesting from the budget savings of past Celebrations and increased 2020 net profits.

In other words, AIM will invest new corporate profits and savings from foregoing AIM corporate events into the efforts of our hardworking AIM Members.

The humble beetroot, known as beets in the USA, is a frequently forgotten vegetable. Most people tend to think that the only way to eat beetroot is sliced, with sugar and vinegar and it comes in a jar!

However, there is SO much you can do with beetroot and it has such a valuable nutrient profile, that AIM long ago brought out RediBeets so the benefits of this magnificent root vegetable can be experienced by all, especially if you do not enjoy cooking! What are the main nutrients and benefits found in beetroot?

Adding beetroot juice to your daily dietary regime will undoubtedly help improve your nutritional status, allowing you to excel in your chosen sport. One of the compounds that this is attributed to is betalain, which helps to improve circulation of the body.

A 2018 study looked at the effects of betalain on 28 trained male cyclists.

The cyclists received 100 mg of either beetroot concentrate or placebo every day for a week. HFB To The Rescue

My son, Janco, experienced problems right from birth. He didn’t sleep through the night at the age when other children did, he was often ill with colds, flu and tummy problems and his first six months were really difficult!

No doctor could find a reason why he didn’t sleep well. A paediatrician even told us we were wasting our medical aid!

We tried various natural products but nothing calmed him down or helped him to sleep. His Grade One teacher found him to be so disruptive in class that she said we should put him on medication, which we did. We took him off the medication because he became very thin, didn’t sleep and showed symptoms of severe anger. At the end of that year he had his first epileptic seizure. By the grace of God, the seizures miraculously stopped a few years later.

Non-Food Allergies & Diet

Is there a link?

As we enter the winter period, and hence cooler temperatures, the resurgence of allergies or allergic symptoms, to be more precise, is evident. Sometimes allergies are seasonal and only appear when the pollen counts are high, but there are people who constantly suffer from allergic symptoms, such as typical nasal symptoms (blocked nose, rhinitis, post-nasal drip), upper respiratory tract symptoms such as wheezing, asthma, coughing and tightness in the chest, to skin presentations such as rashes, hives, dermatitis and non-specific pruritis (itching).

When there are food allergies, it is obvious that there will be dietary implications. If the specific allergy includes a whole food group, for example, fish, then the individual should see a dietician to make sure that he/ she is eating sufficient nutrients that would otherwise be provided by fish.

However, when it comes to non-food allergies, I am often asked: “Can diet affect the severity of my allergic symptoms when exposed to allergens?

For example, many people assume that eating dairy foods can aggravate allergic symptoms such as excess mucous, post-nasal drip and cough.

What are allergies and what are the most common non-food allergens?

An allergy occurs when your body’s immune system sees a certain substance as harmful. It reacts by causing an allergic reaction. Substances that can cause allergic reactions are allergens. There are many types of allergies as well as different types of allergic responses. Allergies have been classified into 4 different types (by British immunologists Coombs and Gell).

Type I, II AND III are called immediate allergies as they are expressed within 24 hours of exposure to the allergen.

Type IV is a delayed allergic reaction because it occurs 24 hours or more after exposure to the allergen.

Type I – These reactions are mediated by specific proteins called IgE. These proteins cause swelling and inflammation and are an emergency if the patients stops breathing (anaphylaxis). Typical Type I allergies include pet dander, dust mites, food and pollen.

Type II – These are known as cytotoxic reactions and are the result of the formation of proteins called IgM or IgG antibodies. These reactions are common in autoimmune disorders such as haemolytic anaemia, immune thrombocytopenia and autoimmune neutropenia.

Type III – these allergic reactions are also initiated by IgM and IgG antibodies and they are responsible for the allergic reactions seen in Lupus or serum sickness.

Some allergies are seasonal and others are year-round and will occur on exposure to the allergen4. It is important for you to be advised by your doctor, either through skin-prick testing or blood tests, or both, as to what category your specific allergic response is.

Common allergens include:

• Medication Allergies to drugs (medicines) occur in only a small number of people. Most drug reactions are not allergic but are side effects of the properties of the medicine. A diagnosis of the cause of the drug reaction is usually based only upon the patient’s history and symptoms. Sometimes skin testing for drug allergies is also done.

• Food There are different types of allergic reactions to foods. There are differences between IgE-mediated allergies, non-IgE mediated allergies and food intolerances.

• Insect bites and stings Bees, wasps, hornets, and fire ants are the most common stinging insects that cause an allergic reaction. Nonstinging insects can also cause allergic reactions. The most common are cockroaches and the insect-like dust mite. Allergies to these two insects may be the most common cause of yearround allergy and asthma.

• Latex A latex allergy is an allergic reaction to natural rubber latex. Natural rubber latex gloves, balloons, condoms and other natural rubber products contain latex. An allergy to latex can be a serious health risk. Some people

with latex allergy may also be allergic to certain foods that are structurally similar to latex. These foods include apple, avocado, banana, carrot, celery, chestnut, kiwi, melons, papaya, potato (raw), and tomato.

• Pollens Pollen is one of the most common triggers of seasonal allergies. Many people know pollen allergy as “hay fever,” but experts usually refer to it as “seasonal allergic rhinitis.”

• Mould Mould and mildew are fungi. Since fungi grow in so many places, both indoors and outdoors, allergic reactions can occur throughout the year.

• Pets Allergies to pets with fur are common.

Fermented foods such as natural yoghurt, kefir, sauerkraut and pickles will boost the gut bacteria and reduce allergic symptoms.

Honey, especially honey cultured in your own area. There is some debate that local honey will help you develop a tolerance to pollen that is prevalent in your own area.

Raw and not heated honey would be preferable. Bear in mind that honey cannot be given to babies under 1 year old.

An allergy to anything, whether it is environmental or chemical needs to be taken seriously. Individual responses to allergens vary from mild such as in hay fever to having an anaphylactic response, which can and is, frequently, fatal. Avoidance of the allergen per se, is the ONLY way of avoiding the allergy completely. Allergies causing anaphylactic shock can never be cured, so this advice and information does not pertain to these conditions.

What would I do without

My life has been turned around and I thank God and the wonderful AIM products for my recovery!

Before this turn-around we, as a family, were plagued with all sorts of health issues and my son was more in hospital than out. We used up our medical aid funds by June of the year. My eyes gave me trouble in that they were very light sensitive and I saw blue flashes whilst working on the computer. I started putting on weight and couldn’t lose it. I had severe water retention and I couldn’t fit into any of my clothes. I had dreadful pain in my back and battled to get up in the mornings. I had earache, nausea and memory loss.

To make matters worse my marriage started breaking down. I realised I had to become aware of all that I had to be grateful for. I worked hard at my marriage and we’ve now been married for 26 years! I also started working on my AIM business because that was something I could be grateful for. Once I started using AIM products the improvement in all areas of my life was wonderful! I started taking

Contest Rules 1. All AIM South Africa Members who sponsor a new member are automatically enrolled in the contest, which runs from July 1 through December 31, 2021. Members who wish to opt out of participating may contact the AIM South Africa office by email or phone.

2. You are eligible to begin accruing contest credits in July 2021 or the month in the contest in which you sponsor a new first-level member.

3. Only activities that occur during the contest period (1 July to 31 December 2021) are counted. A minimum of 25 contest credits are required to be eligible for prize monies. Only activity by your new first three levels of downline members (sponsored during the contest period) count for you in the contest. Subsequently, your new secondand third-level members must be sponsored in the downline of your new first-level member for you to receive contest credits on his/her activity. As a sponsor, you receive 1 credit in the contest for every 75 BVP ordered by your first-level new member. Subsequently, on your second-level new members, for every 150 BVP that is ordered you will receive 1 credit, and on your third-level new members, for every 300 BVP that is ordered you will receive 1 credit. For the purpose of this contest, new members by definition are ordering AIM products with their own membership for the first time, paying for the product and having it sent to their own address for consumption or the purpose of selling to prospective customers. Any previous members or reinstating members regardless of the time passed will not count in this contest.

5. To qualify you for the contest credits, the new Member’s order must be paid for by and shipped to him or her. Third-Party Ordering, which is placing points (BVP) on a membership other than your own, is not permitted. Any deviation from this policy will result in immediate disqualification from the contest.

6. You as a sponsor will receive 2 credits for every title promotion of your first-level new members, with the maximum credits being 6 (i.e. advancement to Director within contest period). As the sponsor, you will receive 1 credit for every title promotion of your second- and third-level new members during the contest period. The maximum credits from these levels would be 3 (i.e. advancement to Director within contest period).

7. Participation in this contest is one membership per household. No stacking of memberships is allowed. Violation of rules or unethical manipulation of the contest will result in disqualification.

8. Prize monies are non-transferrable. Prize monies will be paid to winning Members with their January 2022 commissions in early February 2022 in the currency of their country at the AIM commission exchange rate.

9. Taxes. The value of any prize monies awarded is taxable. It is the responsibility of the prize winner to file the proper tax forms.

10. Privacy. Members who wish their contest standing be kept private (not published) need to inform AIM by phone or in writing by August 16, 2021.
