REOPEN PLAN: PHASE 1
These rules are in place for the safety and benefit of all members and staff. The goal is to open the facility gradually as we minimize the risk of further exposure or closures due to COVID-19. We are confident that we can expand if we all adhere to the temporary policy restructure.
What to Expect Upon Arrival
Check-In Station • All Members must enter through the main Clubhouse doors. All Members will have their temperature taken and logged, along with their destination. Members who have a fever (temperature of 99.5 or higher, per local health officials) will not be allowed to use our facilities. • All gates, including access to the skybridge, will be locked. • We regret that at this time we cannot allow children to access the Club. All Members on campus must be 18 and older. • Please make sure you are washing your hands, using our hand sanitization stations, maintaining a distance of 6 feet or more and practicing proper cough/sneeze hygiene while on campus. • If you are sick or have been in contact with someone who is sick, please stay home and do not use the Club until it is safe to do so per the CDC guidelines. • No guests, additional family members, or reciprocal guests are allowed. Employees • Face masks are required for all employees. Members are welcome to use face masks while navigating campus, but are not required. Gloves are optional. • All employees will be required to sign an acknowledgment form that they have no symptoms or known exposure. Their temperature will be taken and recorded. • A hand sanitization station will be located at the employee entrance, as well as many locations around campus.

Tennis Policies & Procedures
The tennis courts will be open from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm beginning Friday, May 1. RESERVATIONS • Reservations are required via the Courts Reservation module on our website. Reservations will be held in 1½-hour increments with a 30-minute buffer in between reservations. • Reservations must be made 24-hours in advance. A no-show will incur a $20 penalty. • You are asked to arrive no more than 15 minutes prior to your reservation. INFORMATION • Singles & doubles are allowed. No lessons or drills allowed until we can assess demand and utilization of courts. • Be respectful of others. Play only in your allotted time. • Bring your own equipment (balls, towels, water, etc.) • The Briar Shop will be closed. A representative from the tennis department will be on campus for drop-off stringing or ball purchasing. • Locker rooms will be closed so that we may focus cleaning/sanitization efforts to one area. The Sports Court restrooms will be available. • No guests are allowed. • Once you have finished play, please do not linger. Please help us minimize the number of people on campus at any given time.
Pickleball Policies & Procedures
The Sports Court will be open for pickleball from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm beginning Friday, May 1. RESERVATIONS • Reservations are required and may be made by calling (713) 622-3667 or emaliing receptionist@thebriarclub.com. Aquatics Policies & Procedures
The Competition Pool and Adult Lap Pool will be open for lap swimming from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm beginning Friday, May 1. RESERVATIONS • You do not need a reservation for lap swimming, but please keep in mind all social distancing guidelines and arrive when you are ready to swim and leave once you are done. INFORMATION • The Competition Pool and Lap Pool are open for lap swimming only. The Family Resort Pool remains closed. • Both pools are limited to one person per lane. • Bring your own equipment (boards, goggles, towels, etc.) • Locker rooms will be closed so that we may focus cleaning/sanitization efforts to one area. The Sports Court restrooms will be available. • No guests are allowed. • Once you have finished swimming, please do not linger. Please help us minimize the number of people on campus at any given time.

Dining Policies & Procedures
The Lounge, the Bistro and the Terrace will be open for lunch service from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm and dinner service from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm beginning Tuesday, May 5. The last reservation each evening will be at 8:00 pm. RESERVATIONS • Reservations are required. Members arriving without a reservation will not be able to dine. Reservations can be made up to a week in advance, but cannot be made less than 24 hours in advance. INFORMATION • The Bistro, Terrace, and the Lounge will be open. No other Clubhouse areas (Veranda, Library, Wine Room, etc.) will be open. • There is a maximum of 6 people per table. All tables must be 6 feet apart. We are not able to seat parties next to each other or combine reservations. • No guests, additional family members, or reciprocal guests are allowed at this time. • All diners must be 18 & up. • We will continue to offer to-go service.
Additional Information
Areas that will remain closed include: Fitness Center, training rooms, Library, Wine Room, Magnolia Ballroom, Azalea Room, Kids Club, Hideout, Nursery, Playground, Veranda, End Zone, Breezes, Barracuda Café, and the Family Resort Pool. We are looking at adding small, in-person group fitness classes on the Briar Lawn beginning next week. More information will follow. All of these protocols are subject to change or adjustment. This is a “new normal” for all of us; all policies will be under continued review and adjustments will be made where appropriate. Your service experience may be a little different than what we are normally able to provide, and we ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate this new territory. As always, the safety of our Members and staff are our highest priority. Your cooperation with these procedures will help us ensure that we are able to proceed with our phased reopening.
