arrinyup officially has a new watering hole and it simply has to be seen to be believed. Overlooking the newly refurbished Karrinyup Shopping Centre, this two-storey gin bar and restaurant has something for everyone. Dubbed “Dandelion Bar”, the venue was built by registered builder ICS Australia Building Services Group and was designed by architecture firm MJA Studios in conjunction with bar owner John Parker. ICS Australia Building Services Group Senior Project Manager Anthony Tilbury said Dandelion Bar appeals to a wide audience who are looking for a nice, relaxed atmosphere, good quality food and a wide variety of drinks, especially a nip or two of the local gin which is brewed onsite. “The kitchen offers an Asian fusion style menu with a wood fire grill and pizza oven,” he said. “The ground floor bar has an open area with a gin-still and halo lighting while the outdoor area has an operable roof that can be opened on nice summer days. “There is also a undercover alfresco area with a fireplace for the colder winter months.” Upstairs offers patrons yet another dining experience with a great balcony area overlooking Karrinyup Shopping Centre. Unique from every angle The project first began in August 2021 and despite several challenges thrown in thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, the bar reached full completion and was ready to throw open its doors to the public in February 2022.
