Happy New Year from all of us at the Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine. Everyone knows that 2020 was hard on almost every aspect of American life, but I am not going to focus on that. We are still here. We are well and life goes on. We call the January issue the “Toy Run Issue” cause that’s about all that happens from November through December. So as we slam the door on 2020 and celebrate the new year, check out the articles in this issue to see how the biker community rallied to make sure that Christmas was had by thousands of struggling families. This is just 15 articles about how big the bikers hearts are, there are hundreds of other toy runs that went on and we just couldn’t cover ‘em all. Which reminds me…We take article and photo submissions! So, if you go on a ride and think everyone else needs to know about it, email us about the ride and send some photos too! We’ll make ya famous! I love starting off the year with a beach rally on the cover. It brings the memories of the hot Carolina sunshine on your face as we endure these winter months. The Outer Banks Harley-Davidson Bike Week is April 17-25 it’s a great beach rally and we already have our rooms rented, so come party with us! Check out the awesome poster style cover on this months magazine and the cover story on page 5 to find out more about the rally and remember…You Deserve It, Damn It! January is a peculiar month in a regular year. There are generally few motorcycle events. We used to start out the year with the Easyriders Bike Show Tour but it is no more. Even so, there are still some good ones to choose from. On January 1st, Crazy’s 13th Annual New Year’s Day Ride will leave out of Baggerz Saloon in Winston-Salem. On January 2nd Gaston County CBA will host the 3rd Annual Mickey Seigler Memorial Polar Bear Run out of The Country Kitchen, in Dallas, NC. Daytona Bike Week runs March 5-14 If you or someone you know is having an event, make sure you send it in to us. We list all charity motorcycle events for FREE. Hopefully, in 2021 we will see the return of many of the events that fell victim to the Corona Virus mandates of 2020. Where ever the rides and parties are, we will be there. Let’s start this year off right, on two wheels! See ya out there! Carpe Diem

I Deserve It, Damn It! Outer Banks Bike Week April 17-25, 2021

New Year! If you’re reading this, you did it, you made it through one of the craziest years in our lifetime, but if there’s one thing to take away from the last 365 days, is no matter what virus is floating around and no matter what side your political lines lie, you can’t break a biker’s spirit. The freedom in your soul, the wind in your hair, the power of the rumble and a backbone built on the heritage of American history. And as we all know, riding is the ultimate in social distancing, but what about bike-minded friends and family, rallying around the love of the lifestyle? Good news, it’s back and your presence is requested at the Outer Banks Bike Week, April 17th-25th, 2021 in Harbinger, North Carolina. North Carolina’s Outer Banks features miles and miles of beautiful coastline, historic landmarks, camping sites, hotels, bars and restaurants and right in the heart of this scenic paradise sits Outer Banks Harley-Davidson, host to Outer Banks Bike Week. Besides beautiful springtime sunshine and ideal riding weather, attendees can expect a full lineup of entertainment and activities well worth the trip, I like to call it the 5 B’s! Bikes, Babes, Booths, Beer and Bands! First off, no party is complete without a soundtrack. Along with sounds of V-twin engines ringing in your ears, bands from all over the region will have the crowd dancing and singing along and if it’s “FREEBIRD” you are used to requesting, your chances of hearing that hit here are pretty good. Outer Banks Bike Week is also a great time to show off your pride and joy in the Outer Banks bike show. Show off your baby, no matter the make or model, for top awards from judges and the approving nod from fellow riders. And speaking of bikes, over 150 motorcycles will shake the showroom at Outer Banks Harley-Davidson, plus the parking lot will be filled with what might be your next purchase! We pride ourselves in stocking up on the very best new and pre-owned inventory because we know you might arrive at Outer Banks Bike Week on one bike, but trade-up to another to take back home as the ultimate souvenir! All trade-in’s welcome, and it doesn’t have to be a Harley-Davidson, so come show us what you got! One of the best parts of Outer Banks Bike Week are the many vendors who will be on hand with their handmade goods and services. You can expect the usual collection of retail booths from leathers and bags to patches, stickers, t-shirts, exhaust and parts, gloves and riding gear; really there’s something for everyone where appy

shopping is concerned! What’s an Outer Banks Bike Week without the beautiful babes? The hot ladies of the International Bikini Team will be on hand, not only competing for the crown of Miss Bike Week, but they will also be putting those sexy bodies to work cleaning up dressers, hoppers, choppers, trikes and bikes of all kinds at the Bikini Bike Wash! These beauties will wash for donations, so bring your dollars to help the girls out! Ice cold beer will be on hand as well as food vendors and concessions to keep your personal tank from running low. As we know, keeping hydrated and blood sugars level will help any rider from going down on or off the bike! The Outer Banks shorelines and surrounding cities are rich in history, from Wilbur and Orville Wright first taking flight on the hills of Kitty Hawk in 1903 and the very same year Ford Motor Company was founded in this same region. Guided tours to various landmarks and attractions will be available, along with group and charity rides. Log on to the Outer Banks Bike Week page for details. Outer Banks Bike Week is a family friendly event and a good time is always guaranteed when the little ones can get their toes in the sand! So load up the saddlebags, pack up the cager, fill up the tank and hit the road. Just type into the GPS Outer Banks HarleyDavidson and it’ll lead you right to the front door, or just listen for the rumble two miles North of the Wright Memorial Bridge. So if those aren’t enough reasons to get your biker butts to Outer Banks Bike Week, just look back at last year and tell yourself four words, “I Deserve It Damnit! Happy New Year, See you in April! Brraaaapppp!

Tom McGrath’s Motorcycle Law Group 2020 Giveaway Winners

By: Shannon Rights - Walnut Cove, NC om McGrath’s Motorcycle Law Group has always honored the philosophy of giving back to our biker community. This year is no exception; we drew our winners for the 2020 giveaways in early November as usual. However, we decided to change the program some this year! For 2020, we had a total of 3 winners! The 2020 Grand Prize was decided on late 2019 with the help of Richard Carver, Ride America Tours, we purchased a 10-day guided tour to the New England Adirondack Mountains during fall foliage season 2021. This trip of a lifetime includes transportation of the winner’s motorcycle to Albany, NY, free round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations and $900 spending cash for the winner and their pillion passenger. Dean Howard of Locust Grove, VA was the lucky winner of the grand prize! He has been riding for 28 years and is looking forward to the adventure! Since 2020 has been an extraordinary year, we thought to make some changes to the giveaway by offering a 2nd and 3rd place prize. Our second-place winner registered with us during one of the bike show nights we sponsored with Smokin’ Harley- Davidson. When Tracy Hill of Walnut Cove, NC was informed of her win, we decided to meet her at Smokin’ Harley Davidson to give her the check. Tracy is a local girl and has been riding for about six years. She has two bikes, a Harley Road Glide, and a Suzuki 650 sport bike. We would like to thank Ray Perry General Manager of Smokin’ HarleyDavidson and his crew for all their wonderful support of the local motorcycle community. Just about every weekend you can find some event going on at the dealership whether it is a big, organized event or just a meet up of local riders. We look forward to continuing as the Official Law Group of Smokin’ Harley- Davidson. Our third-place prize winner of $500 cash was Diane Stupalski of Moncks Corner, SC. Diane has been a regular of the Women’s Freedom Ride out of Charleston, SC. This year she completed about 6,600 miles of the ride. Women’s Freedom Ride came about in 2013 to promote fellowship and show support for all women riders. Each year the trip raises funds to honor veterans. 100% of all donations raised go directly to a non-profit charity veterans’ organization. This year, Tom McGrath’s Motorcycle Law group was one of the sponsors for the ride and Diane met us during the meet and greet the night before the ride left. 2020 will go down in the History books as a year to be remembered. Tom McGrath’s Motorcycle Law Group hopes that everyone stays safe and we look forward to getting back to normal next year! We have begun registering for the 2021 giveaways, if you would like you can register with us online at www.motorcyclelawgroup.com or you can catch us out at events when we are able to get there. We would like to congratulate our winners and wish them nothing but clear skies and curvy roads!

1st Annual Guardians Of The Children Toy Run

By: Wally Wersching n Saturday, November 28th, the Gastonia chapter of the Guardians of the Children (GOC) held their first Annual Christmas Toy Run. Due to the pandemic, the members of the chapter could not visit with the community as much as needed so they decided to hold a toy run to raise money and toys for the needy. All toys will be donated to families in Gaston and surrounding counties who have contacted the GOC for help for Christmas. Any toys left will be distributed to families in need. Money from the ride will be used to buy gifts for older children. Any money left will be donated to the Gaston County Toy Run for Kids. Registration started at 10:30am at the Winner’s Circle Bar on Franklin Boulevard in Gastonia. Fees - $6.00 and an unwrapped toy, or $10.00 and no toy. The run left at noon to ride a scenic route around Crowders Mountain State Park, and eventually ending the run at Filthy Lu’s Saloon on Main Street in Gastonia. I awoke on Saturday morning to the sound of rain on the roof. I was really disappointed, but it was still early. By the time I got out of bed, and walked the dog, the rain had stopped, and the sun was shining. I checked the radar, and the storms had quickly moved to the east. It was going to be a great weather day. There were quite a few toy runs on the 28th. Most of them very large and been doing it for many years. I wanted to go to help a run just starting out. I left home about 10am heading east on Rte. 74. I stayed on Rte. 74 all the way into Gastonia. The Winners’ Circle Bar was on the right on the west side of Gastonia. I pulled into the lot and parked away from the line of bikes because I wasn’t actually going on the ride. I brought a stack of the Carolinas’ Full Throttle magazines and placed them on the table. Then I gave a donation to the cause at the registration table. Club members of the GOC gathered around when the president of the club gave directions for the ride. He mentioned how to answer certain questions of the participants so that everyone knew where the toys and money would go.

I located “Cuzz” at the front of the line of bikes. He could ride his bike because he is taking medication for his back pain. He didn’t want to miss the 1st Toy Run. We talked for a few minutes, and then he had to take care of some club business. I watched as many bikes rolled in - some in packs of five or six, and others came alone. The large parking lot was starting to fill up. There was a slight problem though. As they added lines to the group, the slope of the parking lot was giving some bike fits. The angle was putting the bikes too straight up. Some wanted to fall over to the right, so they moved the line down to a flatter section of the lot. There was another Victory Kingpin in the bunch. I saw the rear fender sticking out from behind a full dress Harley. I walked over to it and was struck by its beauty. It made “Miss Vickie” look like a “Plain Jane”. It looked like one of those factory-made “Ness Customs” – very rare, only a few built. I looked at it closely, and everything that is polished aluminum on “Miss Vickie” is chrome on this one, so it shined like a new penny in the sun! Everything was cleaned and shiny – like he was going to a bike show instead of a toy run. I found the owner, and we talked for a while. Then I showed him “Miss Vickie”. He liked her gel seat, and tachometer. He said that he’d have to get them for his bike. He only had the bike for a short time. It was a low mileage one, too. More than 100 bikes filled the lot. Before they were ready to leave, they had a meeting. Since this Toy Run would not have a police escort, they had to do it the old way with “Road

FullThrottleMagazine.com

Cuzz Guards” at the intersections. It can be very dangerous, so everybody was told what to do when certain hand signals were given. After that, there was the prayer thanking God for the great weather and asking God to bless all the participants. At a little after noon, the bikes left with a roar. They exited the lot onto a narrow road behind the mall. After they left, I headed back to Shelby west on Rte. 74. As I was riding, I was thinking about that beautiful Kingpin. After a while, I thought about owning a bike like that. I’d be spending most of my time cleaning and polishing all the chrome instead of riding it. Too much chrome can be a curse. It only looks good when it’s clean. I wash “Miss Vickie” about once a year and wipe her down with a detailer a couple times a month. I only polish the aluminum about two or three times a year. I was glad that I didn’t own that bike and owned “Miss Vickie”. It sure was a beautiful bike though. On the way home, I stopped to pick up lunch at the Showmars in Shelby. They always have delicious food – and a lot of it. It was a great way to spend a Saturday morning.

18th Annual Arzie Rogers Memorial Toy Run

By: Lloyd and Rose

Harley- Davidson in Concord, NC has sponsored The Arzie Rogers Memorial Toy Run for 18 yrs. This event collects toys for the Empty Stocking Fund and helps bring joy to many families in the Cabarrus County area. This year, the ride was new and full of exciting new things. It began at Captain Steve’s Seafood Restaurant at Harrisburg. There were free donuts from Krispy Kreme, and coffee from Java Jeff. Director Karen Henning of Speedway HOG Chapter welcomed all the riders . The owner of Speedway, Aimee Rogers Thompson, had a great opening speech and presented Lt. Aaron Rankin of Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office with a new Harley-Davidson Police motorcycle for his 18yrs of dedication, leading us on a safe ride. DJ Todd and Santa were also celebrating 18yrs. The ride was beautiful country and city ride, going everywhere in Cabarrus. county. All along the way, the people were bringing their children out, videoing, and generously showing the bikers love for what they were doing. Back at Speedway, food was provided by Captain Steve’s, and there were games and raffles. The parking lot had several Harley-Davidson fire peedway

pits burning, so everyone could enjoy s’mores. The amazing amount of toys around the Christmas tree, almost brought tears to your eyes, knowing how the bikers in these times, still gave so much of their hearts. There were so many that participated, Bob Karney and Sean Clayton from Bob Karney Law Firm were there giving out goodies, Speedway Harley-Davidson HOG Chapter, Salisbury HOG Chapter, Falcon Bikers of Charlotte ,Refugee Riders, Rock Hill, Red Nights, Steel Rain, IMRG, Crusin For Jeeps, Sick and Twisted, Booze Fighters, Independence, Kings of the South, Cross Road Kings, Sons of Liberty, and The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine always working to keep bikers informed. There were so many that participated and worked so hard to make this a success. Thanks to Nichola Dow, the Speedway HOG Chapter, JB, and Karen, and all the others behind the scenes. Old Indian saying, “It takes a tribe to raise a child”. Well, it takes an army of bikers to do all the things we do. Until next year, stay safe and healthy, we will see you then.

29th Jim McClure All-Harley Nitro World Finals AMRA At The Rock

Story and photos by Alan Dockery

he professional sanctioned

Armon Furr

2020 Harley-Davidson drag racing season ended the middle of November at Rockingham Dragway with a beautiful weekend and a great race. Steve Earwood, track owner, told me months ago that he was going to make every effort to make that a great weekend for racers and fans. I was worried with it being late in the year and possibly cold. But everything fell into place for the American Motorcycle Association’s 29th Annual Jim McClure All-Harley Nitro World Finals featuring the Ray Price Top Fuel Shootout. Fans of nitromethane-fueled Harley race bikes were thrilled by more than two dozen roaring, flame belching machines. I think this was probably the biggest and best nitro motorcycle race of 2020. All three classes had eight-bike fields of awesome race machines. Ain’t many better ways a biker can spend a fall weekend than at the Harley Drags. The camping crowd was down but still enough old buddies there to sit and talk with. I think lots of Saturday ride in folks showed up to at least watch qualifying. I tell folks if you can only make one day, come for qualifying since everyone runs a few times. There are lots of races at The Rock, but the Harley Drags are special. Saturday morning was cool and clear. Great racing conditions and lots of bikes ready for a morning test and tune session. Qualifying started at noon with some cool machines in the staging lanes. I was glad to see so many folks in the stands for qualifying. They got to enjoy the gas bikes and wheelies down the strip. Some of the machines that compete in the National Hot Rod Association Mickey Thompson Top Fuel Harley series were there. Randal Andras, from Louisiana, is the 2020 NHRA champion riding a Jay Turner Racing bike and was having a good time hanging out with fans. And at the Harley Drags fans can walk the pits to check out the machines up close. Qualifying went smoothly with very few oil downs and issues that needed clean up. The Rock is an awesome drag strip but racing late in November meant it was going to get dark and cold early with a chance of dew on the strip. The fans who hung around until sundown got a cool show. The evening glow makes beautiful photos. The fans love watching fuel bikes shoot flames as they roar off into the darkness. After qualifying the Straightwire Band played down the main gate. We love The Rock.

Too Many Good Stories There were so many great stories at The Rock. I could fill this magazine with stories about the people and machines there. Phyllis McClure and family and friends were at The Rock remembering Jim for whom the race is named. Ziggy Stewart, Jim’s nephew races the last bike from Jim’s stable of Top Fuel Harleys. Armon Furr who still runs Orangeburg Cycles, the shop made famous by his Dad, Bill Furr, was on the strip running Top Fuel and working with other teams. I remember when he was a teenager first on a fuel bike and racing in Bill’s giant shadow. Chris Smith from Tennessee was riding a Jay Turner Racing machine in Nitro Funny Bike. He was maybe 12 years old and in the first class 25 years ago when we were teaching kids how to drag race. Yes, we ran a Junior Drag Bike series, but the tracks and insurance folks didn’t like seeing kids drag race. Now he competes in the NHRA. At The Rock Chris ran the quickest time ever in Nitro Funny Bike, 6.473 seconds. Kersten Heling came down from Wisconsin to race in Pro Fuel. I remember when she was 15 years old and I asked if her Dad, famous Harley-Davidson dealer and nitro racer, Doc Hopkins, was going to let her race a Sportster the next year since she would be eligible. She told me she was getting his nitro race bike and he was building a new one for himself. I think Kersten may have been the youngest person ever licensed to race a nitro-fueled Harley drag bike. That is all she knew, and she had hours of seat time riding the bike back to the pits under tow. For a couple summers, long ago, the fans were thrilled by races between Armon and Kersten. At The Rock we told stories about races over the years. And how about that electric Harley. Donnie Huffman is a famous Harley racer from Lakeland, FL, who brought a new

Harley LiveWire to The Rock. He put Andie Rawlings of Lakeland, on that machine and she showed what it can do. During the weekend Andie ran the first 10 second passes on a LiveWire. Then she went on to win the Dial-In Eliminator Class. Half of the Top Fuel field at The Rock competing for the AMRA Ray Price Top Fuel Trophy was from the Carolinas. Guys like Randal were riding Jay Turner Racing machines based in North Carolina. And now Johnny Vickers and his Hawaya Racing shop in the mountains is building Top Fuel Harleys. Tim Kerrigan from California debuted Johnny’s newest very impressive build. I need to ride over to Johnny’s shop and do a story for y’all on his new Top Fuelers. There is a reason so many of the best Nitro Harley races are on the East Coast. That’s where so many are built and based. Tii Tharpe, East Bend, NC, qualified in the number one spot with a 6.287 second pass at 225.67 mph. Tyler Wilson, Walnut Cove, NC, has moved up to riding a Jay Turner Top Fuel machine. Tracy Kile, Asheville, NC, had his Bad Apple bike there. Fans cheered for Armon Furr when he came to the line. Tii Tharpe’s bike was the best of the field all day and won the Ray Price Top Fuel Shootout. He also won the AMRA Top Fuel National Championship.

Bike. Fans like Pro Fuel bikes. They are the small nitro bikes with 120 cubic inch engines, carburetors and single speed only. But those machines still fill the air with nitromethane, rattle your chest and put down 7.30’s all day. Sam White was riding one of Johnny Vickers bikes that has logged some miles under a few riders. He qualified it #1 with a 7.305 pass at 172.28 miles an hour. Jay Beasley, Winston Salem, NC, was riding Bobby Hoover’s pretty blue machine they call Miss Haley. Tyler Wilson, Walnut Cove, NC, is still competitive in the class. Richard Boone, Mathews, NC, and Freddy Frazier, Sanford, NC, qualified in the Pro Mod class. Boone took the 2020 AMRA Pro Mod title, too. Mike Motto, Richlands, NC, dominates Pro Street these days.

“What an honor to win the Jim McClure nationals on the Jay Turner Racing throwback to the Judge while Phyllis McClure was in attendance. Tii said, “Thank you, Jay Turner Racing, Spevco Inc, and Samson Exhaust,” . Nitro Funny Bikes are very similar to Top Fuel bikes, but they don’t have transmissions. They are high gear only. Sam White, Chapin, SC, competed in the class. Keith Browne, Semora, NC, qualified that awesome turbo machine in Funny

There were lots of Sportsman racers at The Rock and that’s where so many of my buddies run. I know some of y’all love the smell of nitromethane. But I dig that sweet scent of VP Race Gas. These are the bikes I would most like to borrow for the weekend. The fans love the class, too; watching riders trying to hold down wheelies through the first couple gears as they run the quarter mile in under nine seconds on streetable bikes. Baggers, or what us old guys call dressers, are popular these days. Lots of them were roaring down the strip that weekend. Chris Wood, Goldsboro, NC, was runner-up in Pro Dresser. Travis Groff, Hopkins, SC, and Greg Quinn, Fountain, NC, also ran the class. Ken Strauss, Terrell, NC, qualified at the top of the quickest index class, Top Eliminator, running a 9.312 at 142.790 against the 9.30 second index. He went on to win at The Rock and Ken also took the 2020 championship. Shane Seymore, Charlotte, ran in the Modified Class. Continued On Page #18

Super Gas is the popular 9.90 index class. David Minton, Trinity, NC and Chris Wood and Greg Quinn competed in Super Gas. Rick Medford, Cherokee, NC, was in the Super Pro 10.30 class. Roger Auxier III, Roseville, SC, qualified in Street Dresser. Rick Medford also raced in the 10.90 Pro Eliminator Class. Paul Watson, Greensboro, NC; Lamond Payne, Winston Salem, and Cody Hayworth, Concord, NC, competed in the class. Scotty Keller, Mooresville, NC, and Brian Peterson, Archdale, NC, ran in Street Eliminator against an 11.50 index. For many years now The Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine has presented a $200 Big Check at the Sunday morning rid-

ers’ meeting. to recognize the Dial-In Eliminator Class rider who has the best reaction time during Saturday qualifying. Well, this time some folks gave me cash to make the pot bigger. Paul Watson from Lumbee Racing was the first to give a hundred bucks. Then Jerry Spencer of Law Tigers, pitched in. Richard Stamey and Brannon White, Mad Monkey Racing brought it to $500. I asked Randal Andras, current NHRA Top Fuel Champ, to join the presentation. He handed me a C Note to make it $600. I tell folks I remember when Randal first showed up running his street bike in ET Class. I think the check caused a few racers to push the tree and redlight. They wanted the money and to be in the photo. But Bob Drapp, Winter Haven, FL, took the cash back to orange country with a .004 reaction time. Carolina racers also in the Dial-In ET Class included Stephen Jelley from Monroe, NC; Chris Rasile from Greensboro, NC; Lucas Isles from Roanoke Rapids, NC; Scott Salisbury from Ladson, NC; Vic Allen of Southern Pines, NC; Steve Garner from Lilleton NC; Mitch Dibble from Laurinburg, NC; Ken Strauss, Josh Stamey and Ryland Mason. It was great to see friends I’ve known for many years and make new ones at The Rock. As always you can enjoy and download our extra photos at www.fullthrottlemagazine.com.

25th Annual Gaston County Toy Run For Kids

Submitted by: Gabby Mintz VP Gaston County CBA/Abate ou could not have asked for better weather on

the 25th Annual Gaston County Toy Run for Kids. More than 1,000+ motorcyclists roared into Ranlo, bearing toys to support our children of Gaston County for Christmas. For the Biker’s, it’s all about seeing the smiling children as they receive toys from the back of U-Haul trucks at each stop. The run is funded solely through donations, t-shirt sponsorships, raffle tickets for bike and fundraiser’s. The outpouring of love shown by so many bikers, nonbikers, police, and people from so many different walks of life that come together to provide toys for our children in Gaston County was truly amazing. The toy run committee works year round on securing donations to make all this happen.(We are a 501(c3) organization).100% of the money raised goes to the toy run. The winner of Bike we raffled off was Dawn Walton. Congratulations Dawn! We hope you will plan on coming next year. Saturday December 4th, 2021.(It’s always on the first Saturday in December-”rain or shine”.) By: (Sugar Foot) Andrew Jenkins

was surprised to see a couple bikes with sidecars. I’ve always thought about adding a sidecar to “Miss Vickie”. There was a little Honda Grom too. They are fun bikes but a little small for me. A young lady was riding this one. There were also a few “Crotch-Rockets” in the mix. All bikes were welcomed. Some people dressed up for the ride. One man dressed in a bunny outfit similar to the one Ralphie wore in the Christmas Story. Another dressed as a big teddy bear while others had unusual helmets with faces on them. It was a very festive occasion. After all my searching, I did see three other Victory motorcycles. I talked with two of the owners, but the third wasn’t around his bike. The two I talked with, I had met before. One man rode his Victory Bagger with over a 120,000 miles on it. The last time we met, I told him about the “Easy Pull” accessory for Victories. His high mileage bike regularly broke clutch cables. Since then, he bought an “Easy Pull” for his bike, and he loves it. It’s real easy to pull the clutch lever, and he hasn’t broken a clutch cable since. “Miss Vickie” has had one mounted on her since I bought her. I love it, too. As noon approached, I walked to the head of the line and found a spot across the road to take pictures of the bikes leaving. It was a perfect spot in the shade with views of the bikes leaving as well as a clear view of the road. At exactly 12 noon, the roar was almost deafening when they all started their bikes. In a few minutes, the run

began with Murphey leading the way looking like Santa on his custom-made Indian look-alike bike. The route was planned ahead, and every intersection would be blocked off by either the police or fire departments. They left quickly, but it still took about 15 minutes for all to pass. I will definitely go again next year. It’s a great way to spend a late fall Saturday, and it helps a lot of kids have a Merry Christmas.

Making 2021 Better ere we go into a new year;

2021. Another year has gone by and I’m sure some of it we would like to forget about. COVID 19 came about and did a number on the country. Many places closed down, jobs were lost, schools were closed. Many lost their lives. A lot of people on Facebook are talking about what’s going on December 21st. Why now in 2020? In December we celebrate the birth of Jesus. In the year Jesus was born, there was violence, chaos, political and social unrest. It was dark. The Magi found him by way of the stars, which was the meeting of 3 stars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars. They followed the star until it rested on where He was and they began to worship Him. In a time where it was dark, Light was brought into our world. Jesus stepped into chaos and brought peace. Now let’s look at 2020. It’s a time of violence, chaos, political and social unrest. Always remember in our darkest time, no matter what’s going on in 2020 or any year, let’s be reminded of His powers, and His light that He brings for all mankind. He is perfect at stepping into chaos and bringing it into peace. Remember we’re not promised tomorrow. James 4:14. Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow, For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little

time than vanishes away. All you have to do is call on Him and you’ll never be alone. No matter what happens in this day and time, He’ll always be there for you. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Start your 2021 on a good promise that God will always be with you, but only if you ask Him into your life and serve Him.

In His Wind, Ms. Pat

Full Throttle Biker Church Helps Keep The Brenner Children’s Hospital Ride Alive

By Lincoln Infield he Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine has ridden in the Brenner Children’s Hospital toy run for the last 22 years. This year, as things would have it, the ride got sidelined for safety. Riding High HarleyDavidson was still leading the charge to collect funds for the kids and families in the Hospitals care, cause no matter what is going on the in the world, those kids still need all the hope and love that they can get, and the families could all use a hand. But the ride had been called off for the year. Full Throttle Biker Church organized a “Money Run” from their church in Pleasant Garden to Riding High Harley-Davidson. The effort of the ride was to keep the Brenner Ride alive and collect some additional bucks to add to the total and I was glad to be among them. Twenty plus riders showed up on a chilly morning December 5th which would have been the day of the normal Toy Ride to Brenner. Inside the church, it was warm, and they had doughnuts, coffee and high spirits. Full Throttle Biker Church is a great group of folks and I’m proud to call them my friends. They collected $750, said a word of prayer and took to the street! They took the backroads and avoided the highway to extend the ride to Riding High HarleyDavidson. Once at the dealership, we got together for a group shot and then went in to check out the showroom and hang out for a bit. Ya know, It wasn’t quite the same as years past, with the big crowd of folks, bikes and people decked out in Christmas gear. There was no delivery of a trailer full of toys for the kids. But, it had just as much love and Christmas spirit involved. I am truly thankful for Full Throttle Biker Church for organizing this ride and for Riding High Harley-Davidson for collecting donations for the hospital. This year’s donation topped out at $12,500 and like years past, every bit of it will go towards putting smiles on kid’s faces and bringing a bit of joy to families that could really use a bit of hope. Good job y’all, over and over again, you make me proud to be part of the motorcycle community here in the Carolinas.

By: Lloyd and Rose n Dec 5th, The Annual Memorial Barry “Ole Dog” Toy Run started at Double D Burnout Saloon. The American Legion Riders from Post 87 hosted the event. The day began with Commander Tim Gulledge giving the route and safety instructions. The Chaplain lead us in a prayer, and then there was a moment of silence in honor of Barry Glenn. Kickstands were up, and we were off to 1st stop at Springers. This year was the year for bicycles, David Thompson and Jeff Schmidt had a little contest of which bar could collect the most bikes. Jeff got 45 donated and David got 50, with a total 105 bikes donated. Next stop was Jr’s Corner Tavern, where the ride was started by Barry Glenn 14 years ago. The Legion Riders did a great job leading the ride and keeping everyone safe. Final stop back to Double D’s for music by the band Rock House, the raffle, 50/50, auction, and great food by Eddie Mullins. This is always a great feel good ride. Making sure children wake up Christmas morning with toys. Thanks to all that participated, it takes a team to make this happen. Bub’s Toy Drive

By: Lincoln Infield ometimes all it takes is a spark to

start a fire. That seems to be the case with Bub’s Toy Drive. Brandon McNeely and Dave Bostic of Blue Collar Cycle in Salisbury NC let me know that they were hosting a toy drive on December 12th. The toy drive came about when their buddy Keith made mention of some local need at Christmas time. They got together and plans were set for a toy drive and ride that was only two weeks away. Anyone who is ever put on an event knows that this is a difficult task to put together in just two weeks. Not to mention the strain of current atmosphere here in North Carolina. The ride started out at STE Powersports in Statesville, NC. Just over 100 motorcycles staged and were ready to ride at 12:30 pm heading for Blue Collar Cycle Company in Salisbury, NC. When the ride arrived in Salisbury, Brandon and his crew had had East Innes Street blocked off in front of the shop to handle the now 150 bikes involved in the toy drive. As the riders parked their bikes, they filed inside with their arms full of toys and big smiles on their faces. There are a lot of different types of rides, but I don’t know of any that bring this much joy to the motorcycle community and to those who are helped by them. I watched as the pile of toys swelled and filled the corner of the room. I even saw Santa and at least one biker chick elf making sure that the toys were placed just right. In the back of the shop everyone congregated as Brandon stood on a picnic table to thank everyone for coming out and

let them know that the food was nearly ready. There was music inside the shop, but everyone was standing around outside because it was another beautiful 70 degree day in December. The toys gathered were to be donated to Operation Toy Soldier and Rowan Open Ministries. So, a bonus to this event was that the toys collected were kept for local families at Christmas and had a local impact. That’s awesome! Word is that this will be an annual event and one of many that Brandon & Dave at Blue Collar Cycles in Salisbury host to help their local community. Keep your eye on the Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine Cruisin’ Calendar for their events or just stop by and check them out at 1017 Old W. Innes St. Salisbury, NC.

Smokin’ Harley-Davidson Toys For Tots Donations Make For Happy Harley Days! By: Lincoln Infield his is the season of giving and every little bit

helps. Smokin’ Harley-Davidson took this thought and revved it up this holiday season collecting 524 Harley-Davidson themed toys to donate. They were able to pull this off with a little help from their friends. Ya see, with every purchase from October through mid-December, Smokin’ HarleyDavidson customers were able to add a Harley-Davidson scale motorcycle toy or plush H-D toy to their bill for the Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots program. In addition to the bought toys, Smokin’ Harley-Davidson donated to each purchase by rounding up to the next dollar and using those proceeds to add to the toy drive. Again, the biker community shows just how awesome they are! Big pat on the back to the customers and staff over at Smokin’ Harley-Davidson. The toys were picked up December 14th, in time to make it under the Christmas tree of kids who could use some joy, and we all know that nothing brings more joy than a Harley-Davidson.

30th Annual Conover School Toy Run Story and Photo by Alan Dockery hat a pretty

day we had the first Saturday in December for toy runs. Hundreds of bikers across the Hickory, NC, area rode to the Wizard Saloon for the 30th Annual toy run to benefit the Conover School. Within a couple hours, nearly 400 bikes packed the bar and nearby parking lots. Just after noon the riders roared down Old Highway 70 with Arnold on his beautiful custom trike towing Santa to lead the way. This toy run supports the Conover School, one of the state’s premier special education schools. What makes it different from other toy runs is instead of bringing toys to a central collection point, teachers select specific toys based on each child’s wants, needs and abilities. Bikers pay the tab through a charity managed by Mike Dyson, The Wizard Saloon owner. This is a unique toy run and the coolest that I’ve been on in my many years riding by far. Personally, this was my 25th time enjoying this too cool toy run parade. On the Conover School Toy Run, bikers usually see the kids they are helping. In past years, the cheering kids and families lined the sidewalk

as we rode in to the high school. Each year the children of the Conover School showed their appreciation by putting on a Christmas pageant, singing and acting out songs of the season. Well, the ‘Rona virus messed things up so we couldn’t have the show. Instead, the bikers were the show. When we arrived at the school, students and families were seated in the football stadium. The hundreds of bikers slowly rode around the running

When you see Mike wearing the custom leather vest with the kid’s signatures embroidered on the back please tell him thanks for 30 years of the coolest toy run. “I think back to 2019 when I thought 2020 would be a great 30th Anniversary for the Conover School Toy Run,” Mike said. “Instead, we got ‘stay at home orders’ telling us don’t go anywhere. Folks were embarrassed and only came out at night. The government shut down businesses and kept people from working. The outlook wasn’t good.” “But I got an awakening from all the people who contributed to a successful toy run. Thank you to all those who helped make it a success. Thanks to the sponsors, workers and all the riders who showed up.” “God Bless everyone who helped make the 30th Annual Conover School Toy Run a success,” Mike said. Many of the riders returned to the Wizard Saloon for some real tasty soup and sandwiches. Then Mike and his staff gave away a bunch of cool door prizes and auctioned some nice items.

Carolinas’ FHole ull Throttle Magazine Red’sTheWatering Annual Toy Run

By: Wally Wersching n Saturday, December 12th, Red’s Watering Hole in Gaffney, South Carolina, and the Brotherhood of Bikers held their annual toy run. It started at Red’s at noon with kickstands up at 1:30pm; then, a short ride to nearby Blacksburg, SC to be part of their Christmas Parade. After the parade, the ride ended at the Elk’s Lodge in Gaffney. Everyone was invited. Just bring a new unwrapped toy to be part of the fun. It had been almost two years since I visited Red’s for a charity event. I had a very pleasant time, and met some very interesting people, so I decided to go there again for the toy run. I left home about 11:45am heading south on Rte. 18. When Rte. 18 veered to the right just north of Gaffney, I continued straight. At the stoplight just before the railroad tracks, I turned right, and Red’s was on the corner. There were already quite a few bikes parked on both sides of the street. I parked “Miss Vickie” and took a stack of the Carolinas’ Full Throttle magazines and placed them on the table under the tent. The Hells Angels had a tent set up to sell shirts, and other stuff. I continued to walk around back to get into Red’s. The front door is not used as an entrance. It was crowded with people having a good time. After walking through the place, I went back outside. That’s where I met “Squid” and “Cowboy”. They were sitting at one of the tables. We talked for a while, and then went for a walk out front to look at the bikes parked in the street. There were some very nice bikes there. Most were Harleys but there was one other Victory mixed in. It was warming up nicely as we walked in the sun. One of the bikes was a Harley with a sidecar. The owner was very

creative with the use of daggers. The rearview mirrors were mounted using a pair of daggers. There was another dagger mounted to the side cover. The lights on the bike were 1959 Cadillac style bullet lights, and the exhaust tips were skulls. There was a lot of the owner’s personality displayed in that bike. More and more bikes were pulling up, and parking. The bikers had toys in their hands as they walked around back to go to Red’s. There was a table set up to place all the toys. There were many motorcycle clubs and ministries represented at the event. All were cordial and friendly toward each other. It was all for a good cause – a Merry Christmas for local children. Later, I talked with the manager of Red’s. She remembered me from the article I wrote the last time I was there. I told her to advertise in the Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine’s Cruisin’ Calendar. It’s free! That way there will be more people aware of the event. As it got closer to 1:30pm, many of the bikers were walking to their respective bikes. Even though it had warmed up some, it was still in the lower 60’s. Many had to put on their jackets, and such. There was no rider’s meeting or prayer before they left. I walked to the corner of the street to take pictures as they left. They made a right hand turn then rode down the street. I stood there taking pictures and watching them as they roared past me. Some were very loud with straight pipes while others had stock exhaust. Before I knew it, they were all gone, and it was quiet again. walked back to “Miss Vickie” and headed back home up Rte. 18. When I arrived home, I was surprised to see my son and my granddaughter. They were playing with the train setup on the pool table. It was a great way to spend a Saturday, with friends helping children to have a Merry Christmas. I’ll do it again whenever I can.

27th Annual Oconee County, SC ABATE Toy Run By: Bill Gallaway

aturday,

December 12, 2020 was the 27th Annual Oconee County, SC ABATE Toy Run which helps underprivileged children receive Christmas toys. The ride staged at noon and departed at 1 pm from the Depot in Westminster, SC. This year we didn’t have a police escort along the way to our destination in Walhalla, SC which is a route many of us travel all the time. Our destination was the VFW Post 6830 in Walhalla located at 2415 Highlands Hwy. The weather was very cooperative with temps in the mid 60’s and plenty of sunshine. The clouds came rolling in around 3:30 well after the toy run was over. This year around 30+ ABATE members and friends rode with toys strapped to their bikes. Also, there were 6 Vehicles at the back of the parade. Upon arrival at the VFW, we went inside with our arms full of toys. The toys were given to the volunteers who were the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 6830 of Walhalla, SC. The Ladies Auxiliary assisted in collection and will deliver the toys to the children. These ladies deserve a lot of credit for the work they provide year round for our veterans and our children at Christmas. After delivery of the toys, some members helped spread

Thanks go out to The Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 6830, of Walhalla, SC and everyone involved in the 27th Annual ABATE Toy Run, Hopefully, next year things will be back to what we know as normal and 2021 will be a year of prosperity for everyone.

Brunswick Co. Toy Run or everyone’s safety, we are very saddened to

announce, due to COVID 19, the toy run event of actually shopping with children, will not take place as it has in the past 27 years. BUT..., We have contacted the schools and they will disperse gift cards to selected children’s families on our behalf. So, kids will still have Christmas. They will have guidelines on what to shop for and limitations as we have in the past. It’s nothing short of a miracle we’re able to do this during a pandemic, having no car or motorcycle events, no raffles, 50/50, T-shirt ads or registrations. Thanks to community support, this is our best year ever. We will be helping 18 local schools, 237 children at $150 for each child. Totaling $35,550!!!! The Brunswick Toy Run has provided Christmas for over 3000 children since its beginning. It was our 28th year and hope next year we will be able to take children shopping one on one as in the past. We missed all the motorcycles and classic cars participating in the event. Special thanks to ALL businesses and individuals who donated this year realizing we needed help. Sincere thanks to Tri-Beach Cruisers Car Club and Cape Fear Cruisers Car Club And Randy Lewis for their hands on help organizing, planning and raising monies with me. Just remember Jesus is the reason for the season. What can I say? Thank you, Thank you !! Jerome Munna

35th Annual Greenville County, SC ABATE Toy Run By: Bill Gallaway

Sunday, December 6th at 1pm the bikes started lining up outside the Greenville Shrine Club for the 35th Annual ABATE Christmas Toy Run. This toy run is the oldest and longest running toy run in Greenville, SC. The day was sunny and cool with temps in the 50’s. The Run started at 2 pm and by that time there were over 360 riders lined up with their bikes overflowing with toys. There were many familiar faces and a lot of new riders which was good to see. There were many folks hanging out and visiting with old friends in the staging area of the parking lot, which was completely full of bikes, visiting with old friends. The ride left the Shrine Club promptly at 2 pm with an escort by the Greenville County Sheriff’s Dept. They traveled through Greenville until arriving at their destination the Old Kmart Plaza with plenty of parking since the Kmart has been closed for several years. Those that went directly to the finish could hear the roar of the thundering motorcycles and the siren of the firetruck as they approached. Those that didn’t ride were, for the most n

part, in cages and went directly to the finish carrying toys for the under-privileged children of the Julie Valentine Center that benefits the sexually and physically abused children all year. It’s always a great turnout for the children. I’ll be looking forward the ride again next year.

21st Annual Rutherford County Toy Run

By: Wally Wersching n Sunday, November 22nd, I rode west to attend the 21st Annual Rutherford County Toy Run. The Toy Run started at 1:30pm near Spindale, NC in the old Kmart parking lot behind Denny’s, and rode with a police escort through Rutherfordton, Spindale, and Forest City before ending. This year because of the pandemic, they couldn’t end the run at the armory or the Moose Lodge like other years, so they chose the CCIB Land and prayed for good weather. Former Moose Riders along with the Cleveland County Independent Bikers (CCIB) were responsible for the run to collect toys for area children so they have a pleasant Christmas. Sunday’s weather was great for a toy run with temps in the low 60’s, and sunny skies. I arrived at the CCIB Land a little before 2pm and parked in front by the gate. I didn’t want to be blocked in when the rest of the bikers came. I walked inside to put a stack of the Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazines on the table by the large tent and talked with a few friends. I watched as “Pegleg” tended the large containers of soup. They had potato soup, and vegetable soup, plus corn bread, crackers, and tea. It was their regular menu for a cool motorcycle ride designed to warm everybody up. I talked with the CCIB club members as we all waited for the other bikes to arrive. I’ve known many of them for a very long time. It’s always good to visit with old friends.

We heard the rumble of motorcycles in the distance, and then the sharp sound of the police car’s sirens. The run was coming in. I stood across the road with the sun at my back so I could get some good shots. I noticed a lot of friends ride by – some waved, others didn’t even see me. They were concerned about where to park their bikes. Over 200 bikes were in the run this year. I saw Mike from Full Throttle Biker Church ride in. He waved as he passed. I caught up with him later while he was in line waiting for food. He was one of the many bikers who were also at Murphey’s Toy Run the day before. I saw the young lady riding her beautiful modified Victory Kingpin. Her husband has added the large saddlebags and rear fender from a Victory Cross-Country along with a fairing upfront. She bought it from the owner of Cherokee Cycles many years ago. I saw Haley from the Cleveland County CBA. She didn’t ride but was standing near the gate. She reminded me of the Homeless Shelter Ride coming up on December 13th at the VFW Hall. After the bikes parked, the bikers lined up in two long lines – one for the food, and the other to bring the toys to the large toy trailer. I met a lot of friends whom I hadn’t seen in a while. I used to work with “Radar”, and I miss talking with him about old Harleys almost every day. He has a K-Model Sportster that he’s planning to rebuild one day. Another man I met is married to “Blaze’, a young lady who had breast cancer. I attended a fundraiser for her in 2018. I talked with her on the phone. She was at work, couldn’t make it to the toy run, and she’s cancer free. I couldn’t be happier for her. She’s a very strong young lady. Later, they would have door prize drawings along with the

results of the 50/50 drawing. I talked with a few friends as they stood in line. Everybody had smiles on their faces because they knew that they were going to make some young child happy on Christmas morning. You couldn’t ask for a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon. It was a rewarding experience – as always. Of course, I was wearing my old khaki shirt with the Victory Motorcycle patch on it. A young man, and his wife came up to me wearing their Victory shirts. Victory owners are instant friends when they meet. He bought a 2015 Cross Country new in 2015 and had it modified with a lot of “Go-Fast” stuff. The bike still looks very stock, but the engine has been heavily modified. He also mentioned that he knew the Smith’s from NHRA Pro-Stock motorcycle fame. Angie and Matt Smith used to ride Victory motorcycles, and he got some of the same internals for his bike as they had in theirs. I wrote an article about Angie back in 2008 before she married Matt. She was Angie McBride then – a beautiful young lady that was always smiling. As I was leaving, I met Amy – my daughter-in-law’s best friend. It was a full day of people giving to children in need, and having fun doing it. We were all glad that the weather cooperated. The children will have a lot of toys this Christmas.

requests his own loaf of raisin bread. After many trips she is tired and irritated and begins to wonder, “Why the unusual interest in the raisin bread?” Atop the ladder one more time, she looks down and glares at the men standing below. Then, she notices an elderly man standing amongst the crowd. Thinking that she can save herself another trip, she yells at the elderly man, “Is it raisin for you too?” “No,” he stammers, “But it’s quiverin’ a little.”

In an effort to spice things up in the bedroom, Easy Ed’s ole’ lady bought herself some crotchless panties. That evening, she put them on underneath a short miniskirt and sat on the couch across from Ed, crossing and uncrossing her legs every time he looked her way. “Are you wearing crotchless panties? he finally asked her. “Why, yes I am,” she replied demurely. “Thank God,” he said, “ I thought you were sitting on the dog.”

A guy took his blonde girlfriend to the Super Bowl game. They had great seats right behind their team’s bench. After the game, he asked her how she liked it. “Oh, I really liked it,” she replied, “especially the tight pants and all the big muscles, but I just couldn’t understand why they were killing each other over 25 cents.” Dumbfounded, her boyfriend asked, “What do you mean?” “Well, they flipped a coin, one team got it and then for the rest of the game, all they kept screaming was... ‘Get the quarterback! Get the quarterback!’ I’m like...Helloooooo? It’s only 25 cents!”

An Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman walk into a bar and each orders a pint of beer. When the drinks arrive, they notice that all three pints have a fly in them. The Englishman just looks at his pint in disgust and pushes it away. The Irishman picks out the fly with his fingers, throws it on the floor and proceeds to drink his beer. The Scotsman picks the fly out of his pint, and holds it over the drink saying, “Come on you, spit it out!” A bakery owner hires a young female shop assistant who liked to wear very short skirts and thong panties. One day a young man enters the store, glances at the shop assistant and at the loaves of bread behind the counter. Noticing her short skirt and the location of the raisin bread, he has a brilliant idea. “I’d like some raisin bread please,” the man says. The shop assistant nods and climbs up a ladder to reach the raisin bread located on the very top shelf. The man standing almost directly beneath her is provided with an excellent view, just as he thought. When she descends the ladder, he decides that he had better get two loaves. As the shop assistant retrieves the second loaf of bread, one of the other male customers notices what’s going on and

A man and his young wife were in divorce court, but the custody of their children posed a problem. The mother gets up and says to the judge that since she brought the children into this world, she should retain custody of them. The man also wanted custody of his children, so the judge asked for his justification. After a long silence, the man slowly rose from his chair and replied, “Your Honor, when I put a dollar in a vending machine and a Coke comes out, does the Coke belong to me or the machine?” A police recruit was asked during the exam, “What would you do if you had to arrest your own mother?” He answered, “Call for backup.” A blonde pushes her BMW into a gas station. She tells the mechanic it died. After he works on it for a few minutes, it is idling smoothly. She says, “What’s the story?” He replies, “Just crap in the carburetor.” She asks, “How often do I have to do that?”

The teacher asked the class to use the word “fascinate” in a sentence. Marilyn put up her hand and said, “My family went to my granddad’s farm, and we all saw his pet sheep. It was fascinating.” The teacher said, “That was good, but I wanted you to use the word ‘fascinate,’ not ‘fascinating’.” Sally raised her hand. She said, “My family went to see Rock City and I was fascinated.” The teacher said, “Well, that was good Sally, but I wanted you to use the word ‘fascinate’.” Little Johnny raised his hand, but the teacher hesitated because she had been burned by Little Johnny before. She finally decided there was no way he could damage the word “fascinate,” so she called on him. Johnny said, “My aunt Carolyn has a sweater with ten buttons, but her bosoms are so big she can only fasten eight!” The teacher sat down and cried.

One Monday morning a mailman is walking the neighborhood on his usual route. As he approaches one of the homes, he noticed that both cars were in the driveway. His wonder was cut short by Bob, the homeowner, coming out with a load of empty beer and liquor bottles. “Wow Bob, looks like you guys had a big party last night.” the mailman comments. Bob in obvious pain replies, “Actually we had it Saturday night. This is the first I have felt like moving since 4:00 am Sunday morning. We had about fifteen couples from around the neighborhood over for Christmas Cheer and it got a bit wild. Why, we got so drunk around midnight that we started playing WHO AM I.”? The mailman thinks a moment and says, “How do you play that?” Well, all the guys go in the bedroom and we come out one at a time with a sheet covering us and only our “junk” showing through a hole in the sheet. Then the women try to guess who it is.” The mailman laughs and says, “Damn, I’m sorry I missed that.” Probably a good thing you did,” Bob responds. “Your name came up four or five times.” A henpecked man got tired of his wife constantly picking on him, so he started playing poker on Friday nights with his buddies just to get some relief. After he came home, she’d start right in on him again. After several weeks went by, he came home early one Friday night about 9:30. His wife asked him how come he was home early. He told her, “You need to pack your bags and go to Herb’s house, I lost you to him in the card game tonight.” His wife became furious and started to give him hell. She said, “Just how could you do such a thing!?” He replied, “It was the hardest thing I ever done... I had to fold with four aces.”
