“ANYONE WHO TOUCHES THE MOUNTAIN WILL SURELY DIE.” The Chofetz Chaim commented that from this warning, forbidding the touching of Har Sinai because of its sanctity when the Torah was given, we can learn a lesson not to do anything that would be disrespectful to a Torah scholar. The mountain does not have an intellect or any feelings, nevertheless since it became sanctified through the giving of the Torah it was forbidden for anyone to do anything that would desecrate it. All the more so must we be careful with the honor of a person who has mastered Torah knowledge. People have feelings and feel pain when verbally attacked. Someone who slights the honor of a Torah scholar is committing a worse offense than anyone who would have touched the mountain. When a person agrees with a Torah scholar, there is no need for a warning not to desecrate his honor. This warning is needed when you disagree with him
for some reason or are displeased with some statement or action of his. The honor of the Torah scholar is the honor of the Torah. Therefore it is incumbent upon everyone to refrain from any words or behaviors that could be taken as a slight to a Torah scholar even if he is not the scholar you have designated as your authority in Torah matters. Once in his house in Jerusalem, Rabbi Yecheskal Abramsky told Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Shulsinger that a few days before, a new immigrant from Russia came to visit him. The person was from Slutsk, where Rabbi Abramsky was the Rav when he was younger. Rav Yecheskal said, “This man came to me on a regular weekday wearing his Shabbos garments. This reminds me of the minhag of the Jews of Slutsk that when they came to the Rav’s house to ask a question on any day of the week, they would don their special Shabbos garments for they had great respect for Torah.” (Taken with permission from Growth through Torah, by Rabbi Pliskin)

Enhance your Shabbos table with these decorative napkin ideas.
Step design 1 Place square napkin on table with one edge facing you. 2 Fold horizontally into thirds, like a letter, by folding bottom up then top down. 3 Fold in left and right edges about 1-1/2 inches to make “hems.” 4 Fold right edge over left edge, bringing “hemmed” edges almost together but not quite aligning them, so you have a “step” on bottom. Do not crease fold. 5 Fold right edge over left almost meeting second fold to make another “step.”
Diagonal pocket fold 1 Fold square napkin in half, then into quarters with all open corners together at top right. 2 Pick up top layer at top right and gradually roll up diagonally toward you as far as it goes. Press roll flat to form band. 3 Bring second layer down from top corner (not rolling), tucking corner behind band so that fold forms second band parallel to first. 4 Repeat with third layer. 5 Keeping bands diagonal, fold both sides under back to form neat rectangle. Tuck greenery or flowers in pockets if you wish.

Boosting Your Immune System Supplements to take: Vitamin D
In recent years, science has really come around on this amazing vitamin. It’s hard to find a disease or condition that is not associated with vitamin D, but when it comes to the immune system you really see a difference. People who take adequate doses report almost never getting sick. For just a few pennies a day you can get great protection with vitamin D.
Doses :
The best way to determine how much you need is with a 25(OH)D blood test. As a general rule, Dr. John Cannell M.D., of the vitamin D council recommends healthy children under the age of 1 year to take 1,000 IU. Healthy children over the age of 1 year – 1,000 IU per every 25 lbs of body weight. Healthy adults and adolescents – at least 5,000 IU. If you get sick, or as soon as you feel something coming up, take a ten- fold dose for up to 3 days. It is also important to note that if you forget to take for a day or two, take more next time. For instance, if you forget two days and you usually take 5,000IU a day, take 15,000 IU. You can also take it once a week for the whole week.
Vitamin A
Just like vitamin D, this is another fat soluble vitamin and is highly effective and very important for immune function. It works hand in hand with vitamin D, and they protect one another from being toxic. According to the Waston A Price Foundation who has been using vitamin A for decades, it is important to take in an oil form, as the other forms are more likely to be toxic. Eating liver or taking cod liver oil is a very good and safe way to boost your vitamin A intake. If you want to supplement, then taking a one to one ratio to vitamin D is a safe guideline, though you could take more. And just like vitamin D, take 10 times the amount

when you’re not feeling well. Refer to the vitamin D paragraph for correct dosage.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C is involved with immune function in many different ways. It helps repair the body, and works as an antioxidant. Vitamin C is very hard to get enough of from food and is safe even in high doses. Vitamin C works best when taken with bioflavonoids, so take a supplement that has both. Take between 500mg to 1000 mg two to three times a day. When you’re sick , take every two to three hours. For children give daily.
Zinc
Zinc is another powerful immune supporter. Most people are deficient in this essential nutrient. It is vital for our overall health and plays a central role in fighting off bacteria and viruses. For daily use, a good multi or 20 mg of a basic supplement may be enough. If you get sick, the most effective way to take it is to suck on a Zinc lozenge every two to three hours.
Probiotics
Probiotics are the so called good bacteria that live in the intestines. We literally have hundreds of trillions of bacteria in the gut; about ten times the amount of cells we have in our bodies. The benefits of probiotics are endless; from digestion to immunity and even weight loss. Yet, because we don’t eat much fermented foods, getting enough from our diet is almost impossible. Even just one dose of anti-biotics can permanently change the ratio of good to bad bacteria if you don’t take additional supplementation. Eat fermented foods like yogurt and take supplements. This won’t work instantly when you are already sick, but more as a preventative. If you are taking an antibiotic, supplementing with a probiotics is critical. Try buying a brand that has multiple different strains of bacteria in it.
