feelgood finds for february by: TCB Staff

Hey Current Buzzers! We’ve decided the politics happening are just too much at the moment, and until we see what the new administration is doing (right and wrong), we’ve decided to give everyone, including ourselves, a bit of a breather from the chaos.

all we can to bring your faves into the light.

Suffice to say, we’ll be back at finding out all the crazy things you need to know (and speak up, vote, sign a petition for) in the near future.

1. Blueberry Muffin (hybrid): the description reads like someone with head trauma is describing it, but it also sounds interesting. Lots of THC (20%), minimal CBD (0.05%), this product of Humboldt Seeds makes patients feel happy, relaxed, uplifted, and aroused

Until then, let’s take a stroll through the local dispensaries and we’ve some flower, tinctures, edibles, and other stuff to help you get away while staying home and staying safe. If you have a suggestion for future months; something you liked, something you’d like us to research, or just want your favorite to get some love, wwe want to hear from you! It’s very citrusy, with hints of orange. We tried a bit and found that couch lock was not a problem. It also helped address pain for many people. 4. White Rhino (Indica): If sleep is an issue, this is your strain. It also tastes good, which is an added benefit. Sweet, fruity, floral with 20% THC, 0.12% CBD and even a trace of CBN. It’s probably not a good flower for a novice grower, however, it has health 3. Cherry Pie (Indica-leaning hybrid): If you want to grow some CP, you’ll have to find a clone because seeds are not happenin’. Cookie Family in San Fran developed this strain and we heard that there

make it yourself: cannaflour by Amy Addams Spices like cinnamon and basil, and fruit or chocolate flavors mask the flavor of cannaflour really well. Gluten free Cannaflour Ingredients • 1 ½ cups (192 grams) brown rice flour • ½ cup (76 grams) potato starch • ¼ cup (36 grams) white rice flour • ¼ cup (28 grams) tapioca flour • 1 teaspoon cornstarch or arrowroot powder • 1 gram decarboxylated kief Gluten-free Cannaflour Materials If you’ve been baking more bread, cupcakes and cookies than ever before, we stumbled on a new favorite to replace all the work of making cannabutter. It’s so easy, even a non-baker can do this. All you need to make a quarter cup of cannaflour is: - seven grams of cannabis - a food processor (or a coffee grinder) - a sifter. How to do it:

Remove stems, leaves, seeds. Put the cannabis in a food processor or coffee grinder (clean the coffee grounds out first!) and process until the cannabis is a fine powder. Your cannaflour is ready for recipes. Use the cannaflour within three months and keep unused flour in a glass container in a cool, dark, dry place. TIPS for using cannaflour: 1. Do NOT cook/bake your flour above 340 degrees F in your baked goods. Lower temps are critical to your cannaflour keeping its usefulness.

You need to de-carb your flower before you chop it up. Place 2. You can decide how much it on a jelly roll pan in a 240 flour to replace with your degree oven for 45 minutes then allow to cool completely. cannaflour, but if taste is an

issue, try to stay at or under 25% cannaflour to 75% flour. (Use ¼ cup cannaflour to every ¾ cup regular flour) 3. One 7-gram batch of cannaflour at 15% THC gives you about 10 servings of 10 mg THC. Watch your dosing when making baked goods you tend to eat more than usual amounts of. 4. You can use cannaflour with gluten-free flour (read on for a recipe) 5. You may want to choose recipes that have more spices and flavor than those that are known for their subtlety. We found that zucchini bread is begging for cannaflour.

If you want the sweetness, add syrup or chocolate chips. It is more like sandwich/toasting bread than sweet banana bread. The cannabis taste will come through a bit. If you are not a fan of the flavor, chocolate chips and nuts will tone it back.

Carbon Dioxide ENRICHMENT • The air today has a natural CO2 concentration level of 350~400ppm. Plants have ability to consume up to 1500 ppm of CO2. • Supplementing CO2 can increase yield and growth by 20% or more. • When using high powered lights, CO2 supplementation increases plants ability to photosynthesize. • Adding CO2 can make plants more resistant to heat and light stress. • CO2 burners emit other gases during combustion that can be detrimental to plant health. A steady supply of CO2 gas is the most effective method for carbon dioxide supplementation.

Carbon Dioxide EXTRACTION • CO2 is known as a “tunable solvent” making it extremely versatile for creating a multitude of end products by controlling temperature and pressure. • Carbon Dioxide is cleaner, more efficient and less expensive than other chemical solvents. • Minimal extraction times and higher yields. • Non-beverage grade CO2 can contain high levels of sulfur, benzene, acetaldehyde, ammonia and other impurities that effect product quality. • A steady supply of beverage grade CO2 gas is the most effective method for carbon dioxide supplementation. • ZERO residual solvent content as CO2 evaporates away.

still making excuses not to grow your own? there’s a fix for that by: TCB Staff

To all our readers who visit a dispensary, spend too much, and think, “I should grow my own”, we have answers to all your arguments for procrastination, space, money, and materials (the argument that it’s too cold out right now is no excuse either). All you need is a little ingenuity, and we can help you with that too. For anyone who lives in a condo, apartment or shared space, a bottle garden can be the answer. You need a clear glass or plastic bottle, good soil and pea gravel to start. As your plants grow, you can transplant them into larger bottles (water bottles are great for MMJ) and you get the added benefit of protecting your plant(s) from contamination and somewhat controlling the smell of MMJ

plants. Low grow, compact cannabis plants are suggested along with good soil. Pea gravel helps with drainage. Find out more by doing a Google search on ‘bottle garden’. There is a lot of info out there on what you need and lots of little tricks to help you along.

We’ve covered hydroponics in past issues so let’s get into other grow methods that may interest you: Another system to consider is Microponics. Not to be confused with all the other ‘ponics’ out there, microponics (MP) is a gardening system that uses aquaponics AND other mediums such as vermiculite. MP can also be an open or closed loop system, meaning that it is not so dependent on fish poop. A good resource can be found at www.permies.com. Another ‘ponic’ system to look at is vermiculaponics, which is a version of hydroponics (growing plants without soil). Vermiculaponics (VP) is similar to hydroponics but adds in vermiculite (the little white balls

marijuana and masking? is this a thing? by: TCB Staff these microfibers from exposure and damage in ways that most other materials utilized in masks simply cannot. This also gives it the benefit of being a more sustainable mask, as they will deteriorate at a far reduced rate.

It’s now more important than ever to stay safe and one of the best ways to do that is to wear a mask when you have to be around others. This might be a slightly controversial topic right now, but in a sense, it is essentially no different than wearing shoes or a seatbelt to protect yourself. The threats may have changed but the notion of danger remains the same. We have to keep ourselves safe, right? Let’s take a look at how to do this more effectively with the hemp mask.

Hemp is also regarded to have antibacterial properties against a wide range of pathogenic bacteria. It’s not strong enough to neutralize COVID, but there have been studies have found that hemp oil is “remarkably effective” at killing bacteria in Hemp masks - With hemp being general. The thicker and tougher fibers of hemp allow for an easier job cleaning the material, as there is a substantially lowered risk of fabric degradation compared to cotton. Hemp is also known to take a greatly reduced number of resources to produce, which is crucial in these times where our resources are fairly strained from the pandemic. With the current state of the world, it looks possible that masks may become essential to protecting ourselves even after this crisis is over, so it is important to stay informed on what will protect you the most effectively. Hemp could play a crucial role in keeping you safe in the future, especially if we are able to reap the benefits of federal legalization. Stay safe, stay healthy and stay tuned to TCB, we will make certain to “zip you the deets” when they become available.

What other advantage is there to using a fullspectrum product? Can you name some? Where antenna for Insulin has do I find them? been getting bombarded! Last issue we talked about what a fullspectrum strain is. To recap – it’s a product containing CBD/THC and multiple Terpenes proven by testing. The Oklahoma health authorities require these numbers (or percentages) to be listed on every product you can buy. Remember, when you look at the label and it has a number for THC – compare it to the number for CBD and analyze it. If it has numbers that are close to each other, say 15 THC and 10 CBD, it is sometimes called one-to-one: close amounts of CBD to THC. The numbers don’t have to be exactly the same – just kind of close. Many medical conditions respond better to one-to-one products. The full-spectrum cannabis is going to hit both the CBD-1 and CBD-2 receptors.

You spent Thanksgiving and Christmas eating like a pig, munching after a smoke, relaxing, having fun. The carbs just kept getting shoveled in. So the antenna says, “I don’t know why insulin keeps knocking at the door… I don’t need more sugar in the cell, I’m going to resist that insulin signal. Nope – you’re not getting my attention…” It would take higher and higher insulin levels to get the attention of the receptor to let insulin usher sugar into the cell. That’s what Diabetes is – insulin resistance, at the cellular, antenna level. You can reverse it in most cases (an article for another time)… but the same thing can happen with cannabis.

Besides causing the THC to be stronger through that entourage effect I discussed last issue - CBD in a THC product can also help decrease the THC side-effect. Perhaps your grandmother wants to sleep at night. Cannabis has many studies on sleep* which shows it is powerful for this A receptor, or let’s just keep calling it an use.
