Health officials first started linking the compound to many of the illnesses, but with more studies vitamin E acetate has taken a step back as the main culprit leaving health officials stumped. Now, they are referring to the cases as “severe pulmonary disease.”

Government officials are also starting to take on a harder stance on the regulation and sales of e-cigs. President Donald Trump has made plans to enact a ban on sales of flavored e-cig juices. Following this, the governors of New York and Michigan have already began to put into action tighter regulations and bans on the public already. In New York, Governor Andrew Cuomo had a 90-day executive action passed that will ban sales of all e-cig flavors except tobacco and menthol. Meanwhile in Michigan, ALL flavors of e-cigs
have been banned. All of these actions were taking place as a public safety measure for both the vaping related illnesses and curbing youth e-cig usage. This isn’t the first time cannabis vaping related issues have occurred. Recently, reports and studies have shown that CBD vaping products are being laced with synthetic marijuana, also known as “spice” or K2. Both of these are laboratory-made chemical substances that are similar to natural cannabinoids in structure with none of the benefits. They are strictly mind-altering substances that are unregulated and have been reported to have serious repercussions to a user’s health.

So what does all of this mean for MMJ users in Oklahoma? As of right now, there have been no confirmed cases of vaping related illness in conjunction to the current outbreak. With many of these problems arising from illicit or illegal products, having sensible and informed buying habits is key. Always check that whatever you are buying is from a reputable source. Do not be afraid to ask your local dispensary workers about what they know about the products on their shelves. When buying concentrate cartridges always check for lab tested stickers and even better an ingredients list on the package. Be informed, be safe, and stay healthy.

A proficient accountant is essential to the success of all cannabis businesses. A suitable accountant can advise on you on everything from cash concerns to tax strategies. Hire the wrong accountant in the cannabis business and you can be in grave trouble. You must be able to rely on your accountant for practical advice to help
you make sound decisions concerning your business.

Okay, we weren’t going to jump into this, but our Publisher, Darrell Briggs, gave me that weird side-eye thing he does when he wants me to tell you about something but doesn’t want to get all boss-like. Cancer and RSO: Short answer: I have no idea and I would never advocate something so serious to risk your life over it as a cure, but as a pain killer, I would tell you that you should at least give it a try. You’ll need to weigh the options and decide for yourself. Okay? What we can do is offer what we know, what we learned and suggest people you can talk to should you decide RSO is an
option in your arsenal to fight your cancer, but we’ll also suggest you speak with your medical team first. If they dismiss it out of hand and act like jerks, you might want to ask someone else. Leave no options on the table. This is your health we’re talking about. If you’ve never heard of RSO, it is also known as Rick Simpson Oil, developed by the man of the same name who used one gram of cannabis for 60 days (which is quite a lot of THC for the record). He claims that he cured himself of cancer in 60 days by consuming his oil. I did find a conflicting story that claims he did not consume the oil internally but rather used the oil on a skin
cancer lesion, so verify before you go forth and start consuming RSO. His oil is potent, so you might want to work up to it. It is affordable for cancer patients, however, at one cent per vial for current cancer patients at most local dispensaries. Call around, you’ll find one offering the one cent deal. So, what makes this a ‘thing’? When you flood your system with THC/CBD, they bind to CB1 and CB2 receptors that reside within cancer cells and essentially, they talk the cancer cells into suicide. The more THC and CBD flowing through your system, the more likely the cannabinoids will seek and

Cannabis Cures Cancer – Fiction. Everyone knows someone who knows someone who only used Mary Jane and beat cancer. How is this miracle drug not considered a cure? Evidently, scientists can’t prove that it does cure cancer. It is proven that Cannabis helps with the side effects of Chemo. Only time will tell if Cannabis is a cure for Cancer. Cannabis is harmless – Fact/Fiction. This one is up in the air for me. There have been no documented deaths of just Marijuana alone. Yet there are some longterm effects such as short-term memory
Marijuana is Medicine – Fact. It is used for many different symptoms. It is a natural medicine that doesn’t cause the same terrible side effects that other meds used in its place do. Cannabis high only lasts a few hours – Fiction. Cannabis can affect you for up to 24 hours after you smoke. A study that was done on pilots with a simulator. The pilots didn’t even realize they were still being affected. However, the simulator recognized their slower reactions. Basically, just because you don’t still feel high doesn’t mean your reactions are normal.
Marijuana is a gateway drug – Fiction, Most people who do “harder” drugs didn’t start out with marijuana. Most people who use marijuana don’t got on to use those stronger mind-altering substances. By definition, a gateway drug is a habit-forming drug that can lead to the use of other, more addictive drugs. Because marijuana is not an addictive substance, it can’t lead to other addictive drugs. It’s safe to drive while high – Fiction. No! It isn’t safe to drive while on any mindaltering drug. At the very least you should wait two hours, but it depends on the THC content you are using (if you are smoking some bomb ass shit you should wait four hours or more, please). The simplest answer is don’t toke and drive. Just because science isn’t on our side yet, doesn’t mean it won’t be soon.

On October 14, 1982, President Ronald Reagan declared a “war on drugs,” (just like every other president that “Declared war on drugs”). Reagan’s crack down caused the number of people behind bars for nonviolent drug law offenses to increase from 50,000 in 1980 to over 400,000 by 1997.” Soon after Ronald Reagan took office in 1981, his wife, Nancy

Reagan, began a highly publicized antidrug campaign, using the slogan “Just Say No.” This is also when the zero tolerance policies implemented in the mid-to-late 1980s. Los Angeles Police Chief Daryl Gates, who believed that “casual drug users should be taken out and shot,” founded the DARE drug education program. These harsh drug policies also stopped expansion
of syringe access programs and other harm reduction policies to reduce the rapid spread of HIV/AIDS. Reagan did all of this in efforts to “Make America Great Again”. That was the first Reagan campaign’s slogan too, well before the “Morning In America” he’s famous for during his second run for office. The 1980’s were also where we see the new norm in sentencing the
Mandatory Minimum. We could go on for a bit on that but, in a nutshell, the judge is required to give you a mandatory sentence regardless of the circumstances, first time, small amount, just a passenger? Doesn’t matter if you get 15 years. Maybe with parole in 6. The 1990’s and 2000’s saw expansions and various modifications to these laws, almost always to the detriment of society at large. A notable addition in this time is the Clinton Administration’s Three Strikes policy, basically you get three felonies, even non-violent ones, you got to prison for life. This was also a time of great change in the public sphere of opinion, that whole “Reefer Madness” schtick was starting to look a bit fishy to folks. Next time we’ll talk about the fight to legalize Cannabis, Prop 8, Medical Marijuana’s impact, activism, and the great change in public perception over the years.
