How to Create a Healthy Mind and Body This is something that we all want, isn't it? Having a healthy mind and body means that you are happy and content. As long as you have that, there’s little room for further needs – a healthy mind means that you have satisfied problems such as socialisation, work, and rest. Finding your way to a healthy mind and body is not always easy. Below, we are going to teach you how to achieve it in a simple way – it isn’t necessarily easy, but it’s certainly less effort than you might imagine. Setting up Habits The first thing that you will need to do in order to follow the advice outlined below is to understand how to form a habit. If you have a habit of doing so, it makes it much easier to carry out that behaviour because it is automatic. Initially, it takes effort to instil a habit, but after a month or two, it becomes second nature. Take on one habit at a time. Do not try to adopt more than one. You are building towards a healthy mind and body, you do not need to do this all at once, – you'll be much more likely to fail if you take on too much.
Starting a habit is easy. Pick something from the list below (e.g. meditation or probiotics), get yourself a sheet of paper, and draw out a grid of 7x4. This gives you 28 squares (or rectangles, doesn’t matter if it’s not neat). Each box represents a day. As you complete a day’s habit, cross off the square with red X, if you miss a day, but a black 0. Over time, you will find that you have more red Xs than 0s. At the end of the month, you will feel a sense of achievement at successfully managing to do the habit much more than you previously managed. Keep doing this until the habit becomes second nature. At the end of a good month (at least 20 red Xs), you can choose another habit. You now have two monthly habit sheets. Keep doing this until you have your habits in place. For further help and information, Google “The X Effect”. You will see that many people find it incredibly helpful. Which Habits? Now, you need to choose which habits to use for your X-Effect sheets. Here are some great ones for mind and body: Meditation – you can choose to do as little as 10minutes a-day and benefit hugely. Meditation
changes your brain and makes you much less reactive to stress, anxiety, and anger. It also boosts positive moods.
Probiotics – buy Threelac, or another equally good probiotic supplement and take it every day for a month. You will notice improvements in digestion, which will then follow through to your energy levels and mood. One of the best things that I did was to buy Threelac. s
You don’t need to take it for long, just a month or two once or twice a year is more than enough to help. Healthy diet – use apps such as MyFitnessPal to track your calorie intake. Make changes, such as
introducing more fruit and veg. Use the X-effect to ensure you manage at least 5 to 9 portions a day. Read self-help books – many excellent books will vastly improve your life. If you suffer from anxiety, read the Claire Weekes books. If you have low selfesteem, read the Six Pillars of Self-Esteem. Before choosing your book, do some research and find out which are the most popular. These are usually the best. Make sure you are reading books written by experts and not lay-people. The former are generally much better. Use X-effect to cover ½ an hour’s reading per day. Take up a hobby – whatever it is you like, rockclimbing, paddle-boarding, knitting. Again, use Xeffect, but this time, each square represents a week. You are aiming for once or twice a week (use 0, 1, & 2 – rather than X and O). Exercise – you're aiming for 150 minutes a week. This can be as simple as a 20-minute walk per day, even at a leisurely pace. Socialising – aim to talk to people at least 10minutes a day. This is harder if you live alone. If this is the case, aim for 30 minutes per week.
Connecting with people will vastly improve your outlook; find good people. Doing this will vastly improve your life, and by implementing it in step-by-step habit building ways, you will create a fantastic life that will appear to you to come easily.
