MILLIONS SAY, “IT’S TIME.”
MEN and women gathered in faith on April 22 in Bloemfontein to take part in Angus Buchan’s National Day of Prayer.
“We are tired of people taking the law into their own hands,” states farmer-evangelist, Angus Buchan, in a press release regarding the event. “We are going to call upon God to bring justice, peace and hope to our beloved South Africa. The National Day of Prayer commenced at 2pm, at Wilde Als Farm, 27 Milnerweg, north of Bloemfontein. According to Buchan, farmers, businessmen and hundreds of people from all walks of life arrived in the Free State since Friday night and most accommodation facilities in the area were fully-booked.
Africans are the only change and progression we have left.
Social media slander against Buchan and the millions gathered at the event was greatly expected. Comments varied from both racial and political angles. “If a white man like this can make a nation stand still what can the others do.” “We do not need to be ruled again, let our country be as we wish.” However, little do South Africans realize that if we allow our country to move backwards we can never grow and we will be a Time”, and was spurred to organise it by a video message he received from a supporter pleading with him to save South Africa. Various sound amplification towers, mobile toilets, a massive stage, sound equipment, parking and camping sites are already in place.
The first campers who have arrived are Marthie Nel and Sonja Roselt from Johannesburg. They wanted to make sure they get here ahead of the rush and get a place to camp. “The prayer gathering is an Thousands more people streamed into the opportunity we do not want to miss. I tell city on the day of the occasion travelling in you now, great things are going to happen buses, minibuses and private cars. here,” said Marthie. Buses were arranged in all major cities to transport attendees to the venue so that they could be ‘players and not just supporters.’ This National Day of Prayer was certainly no small feat and Buchan maintains, “The reality of the enormity of this task hit me hard… This is so huge that if God doesn’t do it, it can’t work…Put an end to the violence, the murder, the rape, the disrespect for our fellow man. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much,” said Angus. Angus Buchan called people together as a group of believers, as a country, to be still before God, to hear the answer He has for our future. We are living in a country with so many murders, rape, gruesome attacks, violence, even abortions – against all nations in South-Africa… It took six weeks to organise the event, which was held at a farm just outside Bloemfontein owned by former Springbok rugby player Ollie le Roux. Buchan had dubbed the gathering “It’s
After reportedly touching down in a private plane, the evangelist spoke for only five minutes, and avoided targeting government leadership by name. What “saving South Africa” looks like in Buchan’s book, it emerged, is bringing our nation together irrespective our religious differences. There was no charge for the National Day of prayer and entrance to the event was free. It was estimated to have hosted almost 1.7 million people from across the country. In attendance was DA leader Mmusi Maimane. DA Free State leader Patricia Kopane said to the media “I am here to represent the Democratic Alliance… Although we are facing a crisis we have all decided to put our differences aside and come together to be united.” According to the organisers, their posts on social media platforms that marketed the campaign reached millions of people throughout the world. Our country is not in a position to be working against each other. We as South

It is fair to say that the event was an utmost success and attendees from all walks of life have faith that the future of our country can change if we all stand together but we need everyone on one team, playing to win back South Africa’s worth and dignity. Buchan says, “this was indeed a vision come true to see South Africans unite not as individuals and political parties but as one - one nation at one time
