WITH OUR MIND Connecting Our
As women, we are innately nurturers. We ensure that basic (and not so basic) needs are met for key people and areas in our lives - our partners, our children, our given and chosen family, our business, our workplace, and our communities. And when that is all cared for, maybe - just maybe - we look in the mirror and spend some time on our basic (and not so basic) needs.
During my teenage years, the trajectory of my life changed due to an injury that put me on a health journey I never expected but truly believe was a gift. This journey has led me to where I am today - the education, knowledge, expertise, and perspective I now have on the body, movement, and pain management was never part of my plan but clearly was part of someone else’s. As I continue on this journey, I want to reflect and share the wisdom that

20 years have brought me and I hope to inspire you to take action on one specific area of your life by the end of this article - your body, more specifically the collaborative health of your body and mind.
As you read this, I invite you to do one thing... breathe. Right now, take a big inhale through your nose like you are smelling a freshly baked apple pie, then exhale out of your mouth like you are fogging up a mirror. That purposeful breath gave the parasympathetic (rest and digest) part of your nervous system a little hug. Now, what if you did that 10 times a day or 10 breaths 3 times a day? Over the course of a year that would be over 10,000 additional breaths, each one having the purpose and intention of connecting your mind with your body.
As you continue to intentionally connect your mind and body through your breath, you will notice YOU feel more connected to yourself. The spirit of a woman cannot be optimized without our mind and body being in the same realm. This simple act of purpose can be implemented, experienced, and celebrated in a magical way. Our ‘wellness’ on the outside is a function of our ‘health’ on the inside. Our lady landscape - our vagina and all its parts - our uterus and our pelvic floor - have been shoved down into the ‘down there’ oblivion for far too long. It is time! It is time to learn, understand, and be inspired to take action to create a sacred collaboration between our body and mind.
This collaboration and connection is what inspired me to create the Cooch Ball. My passion for educating and inspiring women to reconnect to their bodies has led me to learn and focus on the importance of pelvic floor health, and that connection can all start with adding purposeful breathing into your day.
