Calvary Mater Newcastle Acute Care and HNELHD Mental Health Services Rotation Stream • Two 6-month employment contracts, one with Calvary Mater Newcastle in a medical ward and one with HNELHD Mental Health Services. • Full hospital and ward orientation at Calvary Mater Newcastle and HNELHD Mental Health Services • Clinical support available from ward-based mentors and Clinical Nurse Educators • Study days throughout the year Calvary Mater Newcastle Perioperative Services rotation Stream • four clinical rotations of twelve weeks duration. These rotations include the three perioperative nursing specialties – Anaesthetics, Instrument/ Circulating, and Post-Anaesthetic Recovery Unit - and one elective rotation of the New Graduate RN’s choosing from within the three perioperative specialties. • Each clinical rotation is commenced with a one-month supernumerary period with allocated specialty clinical preceptors. • Mentorship is provided for the entirety of each rotation through experienced and dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialists. • Surgical specialties provided at the Calvary Mater Perioperative Services includes general, colorectal, hepatobiliary, thoracic, gynaecological-oncology, emergency, and breast-related plastic and reconstructive surgeries, as well as endoscopy, diagnostic haematology procedures, and ElectroConvulsive Therapy. • The program is a temporary full-time contract of twelve months duration. • Rostering is Monday to Friday, predominantly morning shifts with no night shifts. Glen Innes Health Service • January 2022 intake • 12-month temporary full-time positions only • Placements available in all areas of the hospital such as emergency, paediatric, surgical, medical, and maternity and community health • Clinical guidance and support at ward level by Clinical Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Educator, and preceptors • Study leave release to attend the planned TSP study days held at Armidale • In-service programs held regularly at Glen Innes Health Service • Education and accreditation in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, venepuncture and cannulation throughout the course of program.
