S

asha, a graduate of Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, started his career at Volkswagen in 2005. In 2010 he briefly joined Lamborghini, where he contributed to the Lamborghini Huracan. In 2014 Sasha was appointed Head of Exterior Design, Creative at Bugatti. He was responsible for the exteriors of the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo and the Bugatti Chiron. In 2017 Sasha was appointed Head of Global Advanced Design at Genesis. His team worked on recent Genesis show cars: Genesis Essentia and Genesis Mint. Sasha will also serve as the Managing Director and Chief Designer at the newly established RAW Design House in Ängelholm, Sweden. The company will offer a wide spectrum of design services to a select group of clients. Sasha Selipanov comments on his new appointment: “This is a dream come true”. “I have followed Koenigsegg’s path for years and have been a huge fan of the company’s free spirit and commitment to innovation. Lady is a rich and evocative work, her elongated face with brilliant eyes echoing the sensuous elegance of Modiligiani, who was deeply impressed with the Egyptian sculptures in the Louvre which he transalated into his unique idiom, but the background of the young Leonardo Da Vinci’s brilliant paintings ‘The Annunciation’ and the ‘Madonna of the Rocks’, brings to mind the most famous of all faces of ambiguity - the Mona Lisa. The exquisite confluence of past and present gives Lady a mysterious and mystical resonance.

For over a decade, the iconic bottle and glass has led the way with an injection of Italian style, craftsmanship and heritage for people to enjoy around the world. The new design continues this legacy, and has transformed with a clean, elegant shape and sophisticated curves. The signature of Giovanni Peroni – the founding father of Peroni – is engraved on the bottle. The re-styled logo has evolved to a hexagonal shape – a shape that features throughout the new design – and draws inspiration from the original Birra Peroni crest of years gone by. T

he Luxury Network and Rocco Forte hosted their B2B Members Summer Meeting at The Charles Hotel Munich. In midsummer temperatures the TLN Community met during the Munich Film Festival at The Charles Hotel, situated in direct neighbourhood of the Botanical Garden. The Rocco Forte Group, a long-standing member in the network, provided with its privileged location as a co-host a wonderful retreat from the city’s hussle and buzzle. After a review of the past six months of the year and the introduction of new members and co-operations, the participants enjoyed during the subsequent networking lunch in “Sophia’s” Restaurant a deliciously light summer menu, created by the chef de cuisine, Michael Huesken. With lots of creativity and engagement the new upcoming affinity projects for the coming 6 months and beyond were discussed thereafter in a workshop round table format. aren Boustany was appointed the new CEO at The Luxury Network’s Lebanon office located at the Louis Vuitton building in Beirut. Karen is a writer, poet, media personality, owner and GM of Eyestrategy Business Communication SARL – Co-Founder of LALS. Her main goal is to acquire more members and create events that will produce unique partnerships with luxury brands in the upcoming months.

Karen consecrates her free time to writing poetry and travels to Paris where she gets her BA in French literature from La Sorbonne University, Paris IV. She graduated from the Lebanese American University in Beirut, specializing in a double major: Communication Arts and Political Sciences. Having acquired 12 years of experience in the field of Advertising, she established her own advertising and marketing company “Eyestrategy Business Communication SARL,” conciliating literature, know-how and beauty. For two consecutive years, she had her own socio-political page: “Poing à la ligne” in Al Balad newspaper in its French publication: In


April 2009 and with the reopening of the Lebanese TV channel MTV, Karen prepares and animates a daily cultural show at 12h30 pm: Kitab. She presents, analyses new book releases and bestsellers and interviews Lebanese and international authors in the studio or through Skype as she is the first TV presenter to use this technology in a cultural show. She has received more than 1,800 writers from which 250 international writers such as the great Lebanese French writer Amin Maalouf, as well as the best selling writer in the world Marc Levy and others. From the year 2010 to 2013, Karen has covered the Salon du Livre Francophone in Beirut, hosting each year more than 80 writers in less than ten days. On May 16, 2012, Karen became a part of history with her new outstanding show écrire l’Histoire, in which she hosted famous international personalities of the 21st century. International writers like Marc Levy, Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt, Venus Khoury-Ghata and Amin Maalouf. On April 6, 2013, she started with Ecrire l’Histoire Season 2 exclusively from Detroit, Los Angeles and Hollywood, with great personalities from Lebanese Origins. Great Film Makers, Film Directors, Producers, as well as music compositors, writers, politicians and CEOs are interviewed in the USA and Paris such as Mr. Carlos Ghosn, CEO of Nissan and Renault worldwide and Dr Charles El Achi, Director of JPL Nasa in LA. On February 2014, she started a new TV series on LBCI Asmaa min al Tarikh – Names in History, in which she hosts very famous Brazilian personalities from Lebanese descent such as President of Brazil HE Michel Temer and many more. In 2015, she travelled to the UAE and filmed more than 15 episodes with outstanding Lebanese success stories in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah. In October 2016, she traveled to Australia and filmed more than 15 interviews with prominent

Lebanese politicians and businessmen such as the former Premier of Victoria, HE Steve Brax. In February 2017, she travelled to South Africa and filmed more than 35 interviews with prominent Lebanese politicians and businessmen in Africa during the Lebanese Diaspora Energy. Since 2014, Karen has been a founding member of the Lebanese Energy Diaspora Conference organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration. This conference takes place in Beirut yearly in May and features more than 5,000 successful expats in Lebanon.

In May 2017, she was the Master of Ceremony of the Lebanese Diaspora Energy Conference in Beirut in the presence of HE President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister Saad Hariri as well as all Lebanese ministers, deputies, ambassadors and 5000 VIP Lebanese expats. A great event that was covered live by all Lebanese channels. In September 2018, Karen filmed the 8th season of Asmaa Min Al Tarikh in Las Vegas and San Francisco with pioneers in the ICT field. Karen has published two books: a poetry book “Au-delà de la Faute” published in December 2007 and “Mon père le Roi du monde,” a homage to her father Raymond published in November 2012. She is

currently preparing her third book which will include factual stories and another one about her mother who passed away recently. In June 2015, she co-founded and presided the Lebanese ALS association, first ALS Association in the Arab World. In 2016, Karen was rewarded by Dr. Fadlo Khuri, President of the American University of Beirut, in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of Sheikh Nahyan Bin Nahyan Minister of Culture and Youth then. In 2017, she was awarded four times: Asmaa Min Al Traikh Best TV Show for 2016-2017 by the Beirut Golden Awards, Best TV Personality by HE Minister of Communication Melhem Riachy at the Byblorama political & social event on April 2017, HE Minister of Foreign Affairs Gebran Bassil awarded Karen Boustany for all her achievements and support to the Lebanese Diaspora at the LDE Conference held on May 4 and 5, 2017 at Biel, and last but not least by HE Minister of Tourism Avedis Guidanian who awarded Karen Media Ambassador to the Lebanese Diaspora at a great event held by the Lebanese Brazilian Union in December 2017. In 2018, she was awarded by CSJA for her career’s achievement. In June 2019, she was awarded by AJEPC in Portugal during the International Business Forum FIN where she represented Lebanon amongst 42 other countries. In July 2019, she was appointed the CEO of The Luxury Network in Lebanon. In August 2019: She was appointed Ambassador to the world of the Lebanese International NGO Oum El Nour founded in 1990. Karen Boustany has already represented Lebanon in numerous international conferences and has become a reference for all the successful women in the Middle East and around the world. n the heart of Munich, a pre-selected circle of invited guests from the business and lifestyle world attended an after-work networking dinner. On this special occasion the TLN member Hearthouse opened exclusively its doors to the summery decorated “Members only“ studio, providing direct access to the members terrace. During the Signature cocktail-reception the closed circle discussed the latest trends in the luxury market and received also some insights to the newcomer collection of the TLN member Edelvion. Framed by inspiring Pop-Art, the lovers of beautiful things exchanged their thoughts and experiences whilst ice cold gazpacho and grilled prawns were served, before the talks continued in-depth at the subsequent delicious dinner. Pierre-Nicolas Hurstel, CEO Arianee, added: “We are proud to have been able to allow Vacheron Constantin to issue the certificate of authenticity using Blockchain technology. Digital identities will transform the way we own valuable assets and Arianne couldn’t dream of a better first step than this pilot program as we continue on our path to building a global standard.” Arianee is one of the first concrete Blockchain applications available to end consumers. This open source solution has been designed to give each object an unforgeable, durable, secure and transferable digital identity. Each watch registered on the Arianee protocol is given a certificate in addition to the traditional paper authentication. This consists of a digital passport with several innovative features: it can be transferred from one owner to another; it creates an anonymous link between the owner and Vacheron Constantin; and it is open as well as connected, thus enabling its owner to insure the model, declare it lost or stolen, as well as share or prove its ownership. mpeccable blue skies, bright sunshine and temperatures exceeding 30 degrees provided the perfect setting for the “hottest” Diplomatic Council summer celebration ever. More than 150 DC members and guests experienced an unforgettable evening full of highlights enjoying the fantastic ambience of a royal castle – above all, it was an evening with beautiful encounters, lots of conversations and joy and pleasure.

A clear commitment to international organisations H.E. Ambassador Buddhi Athauda, Diplomatic Council co-founder, currently residing in Paris with accreditation to France, Monaco, Andorra and UNESCO, praised the global organisations such as the European Union or the United Nations for the relevant and world-changing achievements they made in the past decades. As a matter of fact, problems and crisis of global dimensions can only be solved by joint efforts. Secretary-General Hang Nguyen emphasized that members of the Diplomatic Council want to be part of a society that does not ignore, but respects; that does not exclude but includes; that does not start wars but tries to find peaceful solutions for the sake of all people. Croatian Rock Tenor Croatia as this year’s partner country was worthily presented by the Croatian tenor Silvio D’Anza. He is known as the pop star among tenors. He blends the charm of a classical tenor and the coolness of a pop star like no other. Our Croatian friends also spoiled all guests with selected Croatian delicacies and fine Croatian wines and liquors. Adobe wins Diversity Award A further highlight on the evening program was the announcement of the 2019 Diversity Award winner jointly bestowed upon by Diplomatic Council and its member Great Place to Work. The Award is given annually and the winner is selected amongst Germany’s 100

best employers with the best diversity management. This year’s winner Adobe Systems proudly accepted the award. The most beautiful opera houses in the world The world’s most famous theatres photographed from the stage – we were able to adore a unique selection of Klaus Frahm’s best artworks which was very well received. The exhibition was organized by our member Global Fine Art which was represented by its CEO Dr Arne Freiherr von Neubeck who also

provided more details about the pictures later in the evening. Food, Apparel, Daily Life – things are not moving without logistics Melanie Prinz, CEO of Beeline Logistics, already pointed out the importance of logistics during the Executive Club. In the evening Beeline sponsored a stand and presented itself to the curious audience. Most of us do not realize how much we depend on logistics. Our current world would not be the way it is without modern logistics – starting from food over apparel to all devices of our daily lives – nothing would be available without logistics! Establishing new contacts, deepening existing relationships Following the official program, there was plenty of time for all members and guests to mix and mingle and enjoy the excellent summer barbecue of the 5-star castle hotel. New contacts were made while fellow members met again and deepened their relationships. Many celebrated at the famous Jimmy’s bar until late at night. 101
