“Black Badge strongly appeals to a distinct group of clients who seek a more visceral interpretation of the Rolls-Royce experience. In its engineering, technology, materials, and design, Black Badge Cullinan Series II satisfies these clients’ keen appetite for innovation and new modes of self-expression. Cullinan’s darker alter ego has always asserted its own unique place in our product portfolio; I’m certain that this new incarnation will build on its predecessor’s success.”

“Black Badge Cullinan Series II reflects the changes we’ve seen in our client profile since we first launched this transformative motor car five years ago. Today, self-expression, individuality and boldness are demanded more than ever before – all attributes that form the core of the Black Badge attitude. Our creative response has matched the daring of those who commission these motor cars. The dark, primal elements that are so essential to the Black Badge character are expressed here in extremis, and are further amplified by dramatic and assertive coachwork reserved for this disruptive expression of the brand.”

Rolls-Royce’s disruptive alter ego, Black Badge, reached its apotheosis in Cullinan where its assertive and uncompromising attitude appeals to clients who seek the boldest forms of self-expression. Today, the marque presents a clear evolution of this subversive motor car with Black Badge Cullinan Series II.

BLACK BADGE CULLINAN SERIES II: EXTERIOR

Black Badge Cullinan Series II asserts its presence with an impactful front-end treatment. The principal differentiator is the lower air intake design. These geometrical pieces incorporate widened veins, signalling the motor car’s more urgent dynamic character. Above this is the marque’s iconic Pantheon grille, which has been illuminated for the first time across Cullinan and Black Badge Cullinan Series II. For Black Badge, the grille is finished in the series’ hallmark Black, though a silver ‘horizon line’ creates a sense of breadth and solidity while framing the motor car’s vertical daytime running lights. For clients wishing to fully cloak their motor car in darkness, this is also available in an allblack finish.

All exterior body detail elements and brightwork, including the Spirit of Ecstasy figurine, are also finished in Black.

For the first time in the history of Black Badge, this now extends from the window surrounds and door spears to the door handles. Each piece is hand-prepared by the marque’s artisans: first, a light abrasive is used across the handle to provide a ‘key’ for a hardwearing primer, onto which four coats of Black paint are then applied. After curing, these pieces are individually polished to ensure that they match the rich, high-gloss coachwork of Black Badge Cullinan Series II.

Other darkened elements, including the rear tailgate and bumper accents as well as the motor car’s exhausts, are treated with a specific chrome electrolyte to achieve the mirror-black effect. This is introduced to the traditional chrome plating process and co-deposited on the stainless-steel substrate, darkening the finish. Its final thickness is just one micrometre – around one hundredth of the width of a human hair. Each of these components is precision-polished by hand to achieve a mirror-black chrome finish before it is fitted to the motor car. Black Badge Cullinan Series II clients are now able to extend exterior colours to all lower body surfaces, as well as the subtly

enhanced lower sill, valances, and lower front bumper – a treatment reserved for Black Badge Cullinan Series II. This visually lowers the motor car, creating a more dynamic statement that further amplifies its monolithic form.

The exterior treatment is completed with 23-inch wheels – the first time wheels of this size have been offered by the marque for a Black Badge motor car. From a distance, the design appears to consist of five spokes finished in gloss-black and silver. In fact, there are 10 interwoven spokes: the visual effect is created by a carefully-orchestrated interplay between polished, painted and recessed, negative surfaces. The design also allows a clear view of the Black Badge disc brake callipers, shown in a signature Red, which can also be finished in Black, Turchese, Mandarin, or Forge Yellow.

BLACK BADGE CULLINAN SERIES II: A SUBVERSIVE INTERIOR TREATMENT

Advanced, technical materials have become a hallmark of Black Badge RollsRoyce motor cars. For Black Badge

Cullinan Series II, this theme continues. Clients expressed their appreciation of the original Black Badge Cullinan’s Technical Carbon finish – on this basis, this exquisite material has been retained for Series II. The naked-weave carbon-fibre finish has been developed to create a precise repeating pattern of geometrical shapes that create a three-dimensional effect. Each leaf of Technical Carbon is finished with six coats of lacquer before being left to cure for 72 hours then all 23 pieces are hand-polished to a mirror finish. This process takes 21 days in total.

On the Road

If Individual Rear Seats are commissioned, clients can include the Black Badge family motif, known as the infinity symbol, onto the rear Technical Carbon ‘Waterfall’ section that separates the rear reclining seats and conceals the Cullinan Series II Champagne cooler. This delicate aluminium piece is placed between the third and fourth layer of six layers of subtly tinted lacquer, creating the illusion that the symbol is floating above the Technical Carbon. In Lounge Seat configuration, the infinity symbol is embroidered.

The seats themselves are available to commission in the marque’s stunning new Duality Twill textile, a new fabric made using natural bamboo fibres and inspired by the extensive bamboo grove in Le Jardin des Méditerranées on the Côte d’Azur, which neighbours Sir Henry Royce’s former winter home, Villa Mimosa. The twill textile is embroidered with an artistic ‘Duality’ graphic. Based on an abstract interpretation of the two interlinked letter R initials of the marque’s founders, the design reflects a clear nautical influence, reminiscent of the interweaving rope lines found on sailing yachts – another subtle allusion to the French Riviera.

A complete Duality Twill interior of the intricately embroidered textile incorporates up to 2.2 million stitches and 11 miles of thread. This exquisite material can be further dramatised with bold Bespoke colourways, further enhancing this

remarkable new finish for Black Badge clients.

Placed Perforation seating can also be incorporated into this bold expression of Cullinan. Up to 107,000 0.8- and 1.2-millimetre perforations are made onto the seat leather, creating an abstract pattern, inspired by the constantly changing shapes and shadows of the clouds over the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood in the twilight hours.

The dark ambience of Black Badge continues with the interior metals. Air vent surrounds on the dashboard and in the rear cabin are darkened using physical vapour deposition, a method of colouring metal that does not discolour or tarnish over time or through repeated use.

The subversive design principles of Black Badge motor cars have also been applied

to Cullinan Series II’s unique Clock Cabinet. This inset vitrine displays both an analogue timepiece and an up-lit Spirit of Ecstasy figurine. The Spirit of Ecstasy is constructed from solid stainless steel and rendered in Black, recalling the figure that sits on the prow of Black Badge Cullinan Series II. The Clock Cabinet is flanked by Cullinan’s new Illuminated Fascia, which displays an ethereal glowing infinity symbol within the new vertical Cityscape pattern.

Black Badge Cullinan Series II is also the stage for an exclusive digital Bespoke treatment, with instrument dials now available in five neo-futuristic colourways: Vivid Grellow, Neon Nights, Cyan Fire and the kaleidoscopic-style Synth Wave.

BLACK BADGE CULLINAN SERIES II: PROVEN ENGINEERING

In Black Badge Cullinan’s first guise, clients requested that the Black Badge

On the Road

experience extended beyond the aesthetic treatment of the motor car. In the five years since its launch, the changes made by Rolls-Royce engineers for the 2019 motor car, which included higher capacity air springs to alleviate body roll and the addition of even greater power reserves, have become integral to this bold motor car’s appeal. Accordingly, these qualities are preserved for Black Badge Cullinan Series II, including the twin-turbocharged 6.75-litre V12 engine, which generates a total output of 600PS, and 900Nm of torque.

To exploit the additional power, the transmission and throttle remain calibrated for more immediate acceleration. The ZF eight-speed gearbox and both front- and rear-steered axles work together to adjust the levels of feedback to the driver, depending on throttle and steering inputs without compromising the motor car’s effortless ‘magic carpet ride’ experience. Depressing the ‘Low’ button on the gear selection stalk continues to unlock further Black Badge technologies. When activated, drivers experience a change in tone and volume from the Bespoke Black Badge exhaust system, signalling that all of the 900Nm torque reserves are available from 1700rpm – just 700rpm above tick-over. Low Mode also increases the speed of gear shifts by 50% when the throttle is depressed to 90%. To fully exploit Black Badge Cullinan Series II, the brake pedal travel has been decreased to create a more immediate response to driver inputs.

A BOLD BESPOKE TREATMENT

Like its predecessor, Black Badge Cullinan Series II defines a distinct attitude and aesthetic code within the super-luxury sector. The clients who patronise this expression of the brand do so on their own terms – with Black Badge Cullinan Series II, Rolls-Royce signals its ongoing commitment to these individuals’ requirements, and their bold appreciation of luxury.

Throughout the Taj Mahal, majestic inlaid artwork depicts the colourful blooms of India.

Boghossian’s Inlay collection pays homage to these stylised floral motifs, breathing contemporary new life into the traditional skill. Masterfully cut pear-shaped and oval-shaped gemstones represent the petals and leaves of Mughal art.

With a signature blend of Eastern inspiration and innovative craftsmanship, Boghossian revives the ancient Art of Inlay for new generations to admire. Each piece is the result of meticulous craftsmanship; gemstones are painstakingly carved by skilled lapidarists to fit together seamlessly. Reimagine life on the water with Sanlorenzo

“The sea has no roads, the sea is without explanation.”

The Italian writer Alessandro Baricco explains the timeless lure of the sea very succinctly, manifesting visions of a boundless existence for those with an adventurous spirit.

Embodying this philosophy, Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo has been reimagining the on-water lifestyle for over six decades, creating yachts where there are literally no boundaries or limits.

Producing a very limited number of madeto-measure yachts each year, Sanlorenzo designs and builds its distinctive yachts and superyachts according to an individual client’s style, desires, and imagination – following a unique five stage customisation process.

Your Needs

“Building a Sanlorenzo takes time and passion,” says Nick Hatfield, Sales Manager at Sanlorenzo Yachts UK. “We listen to our customers’ needs and work closely with each to bring their dream yacht to life.

“It allows us to develop a project based on a plan of an individual’s personalised space, identifying the number, the size, and the types of cabins as well as defining other areas onboard to satisfy a client’s specific entertainment or relaxation needs.

“The only limitation is the hull shape and exterior profile. But interior wise, it’s a blank canvas, with the yacht entirely customised to an owner’s cruising aspirations, tastes and lifestyle.”

Your Style

Since each customer enjoys an individual lifestyle, Sanlorenzo’s aim is to have their tastes, habits, and style brought to life on their boat. A client’s home often proves to be a good starting point for understanding the style most suited to their floating home.

“Sanlorenzo was the first motoryacht brand to truly offer a tailor-made solution in terms of onboard customisation,” continues Nick. “It looked outside the marine industry for the specialist talent and brought in big named designers who were creating fabulous interiors for apartments.

“We work with these leading international designers to understand a client’s preferences and style before translating these into the interior of their yacht, creating optimal solutions to offer clients a bespoke yacht, with everything made to measure for them, to their exact requirements.”

Your Choice

Nothing is standard onboard a Sanlorenzo, and it’s more than just a choice of luxurious materials.

“Regardless of size or model, each yacht is created with a level of customisation going far beyond taking a base design and changing it aesthetically,” explains Nick. “The best artisans are employed, and the handcrafted production ensures that each detail chosen by our customers is a perfect fit with all other elements.

“It’s this level of skill and supervision throughout every part of a yacht’s production that really sets Sanlorenzo apart and is why the shipyard only accommodates a limited number of customers each year, and over the years has launched just 1000 or so of its unique and stunning yachts.”

Your Artisan Creation

Owning a Sanlorenzo means having the opportunity to choose the materials involved in the yacht’s creation. This choice is not limited to the cladding and coverings but extends to luxury items such as the marble counter tops or wood flooring.

“Instead of being tied to the builder’s specifications, our clients have the freedom to choose unique freestanding pieces of furniture from renowned Italian brands like Minotti, Natuzzi, Frag, B+B, Zucchetti, Paola Lenti, Living Divani and more,” continues Nick.

“Sanlorenzo yacht owners can genuinely choose every detail to best express their personality.”

Your One-Off

Building a Sanlorenzo is a skilful and elaborate process, which gives life to something that is as unique as each customer.

“Sanlorenzo yachts are elite, timeless, and completely individual,” concludes Nick. “More than just a stunning yacht, each Sanlorenzo is a unique work of art, with its own story to tell. Will you let it tell yours?”

Achieving an important position among the top ten arbitration centers in the world is one of the goals announced by Dr. Kamal Al Hamad, Secretary General of the Commercial Arbitration Center for the (GCC) Countries, during its celebration of the 30th anniversary. The center’s vision falls under the slogan “Towards Distinguished Arbitration in the GCC Countries to Achieve Justice and Fairness,” focusing on the Gulf arbitrator and expert, elevating them to a global level, and enhancing the role of arbitration as an independent system and distinguished tool for resolving commercial disputes and attracting foreign investments. The event was held under the patronage of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifah, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Board of Directors and the General Secretariat, along with the vision of the Gulf countries, confirm and reinforce these noble objectives, working towards building an integrated system for commercial arbitration.

The center has successfully attracted the 8th Conference on Arbitration and Dispute Resolution in Energy, Oil, and Gas in 2025 from the United Kingdom to be held for the first time in the GCC

States, in strategic partnership with the International Law Summits and the Scottish Arbitration Center. The Commercial Arbitration Center has several strategic goals aimed at enhancing the efficiency of arbitration practices to make its decisions more stable, strong, and balanced. Among these is the first-of-its-kind event, the Gulf week for Law and International Arbitration, to be held in the last week of next January 2025. This will be an international platform bringing together all relevant parties to explore industry and investment opportunities in the largest economy in the Middle East and to conclude agreements. It is expected to attract more than 3,000 participants, including lawyers, legal advisors, international institutions, and organizations such as the American Bar Association –ABA-, The World Trade Organization –WTO-, and speakers from International Chamber of Commerce –ICC-.

The Advisory Board is composed of renowned global legal figures, which I am honored to chair, including Mr. Steven A Hammond (Past President, Union Internationale des avocats, U.S.A). Mr. Brandon James Malone (Member of the ICC UK Committee, UK). Dr. Xavier Favre Bulle (Member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR,

Switzerland). Dr. Sami Al Houerbi (Africa and Middle East officer at the ICC, Tunisia). Dr. Georges Feghali (World Bank Group Regional Mediator for MENA, Lebanon). Dr. Bassam Talhouni (Ex-minister and a well-known international arbitrator, Jordan).

Future plans focus on providing a secure investment environment in all

GCC countries, supporting both local and foreign investors, and developing all judicial and arbitration guarantees to protect foreign investment in order to enhance the reputation of the investment movement through arbitration to be among the top ten international commercial arbitration centers in the world.

HEALTHCARE FORECASTING

DR. FAISAL ZAGZOOG

One of the most essential component of modern medicine is healthcare forecasting as it is crucial in help predicting the future of health trends for health care providers, policy market and government authorities. it also reflects on allocating resources in an efficient way and improving patients outcomes. that can be done by leveraging historical data, statistical models, anticipated innovation and technology in order to create new concepts of the future of healthcare domestically and internationally.

The importance of forecasting is not just to predict the future, but to be able to have an accurate resource allocation starting from staff, beds, clinics, hospital and medical supplies.

In addition, ensuring that funds are directed towards areas of great need in the budgeting plans. Adding to that the importance of pandemic prediction, chronic disease incidents, and prevalence, in order to identify the risk factors and have an early prevention and intervention plans.

In summary, some of these forecasting methodologies are done by having a time series analysis, regression models, advanced machine learning, creating simulation models, having an expert’s judgment and insights.

It is essential to learn and benefit from the business that adopted these methodologies in their operating model to optimize operation and reach the highest level of efficiency.

SUSTAINABLE DESTINATIONS: REGENERATIVE TOURISM IN SAUDI ARABIA

DR. DINA AL NAHDY

In the heart of the Arabian Peninsula, a new narrative of tourism is unfolding. Saudi Arabia, a land steeped in history and rich in natural beauty, is embracing regenerative tourism, a model that goes beyond sustainability to actively restore and enhance the environment and communities it touches.

This approach aligns with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, a strategic framework aimed at diversifying the economy and enhancing the quality of life. It also aligns with global trends, as the Morgan Stanley Institute for Sustainable Investing’s 2024 report, “Sustainable Signals,” reveals that 85% of companies view sustainability as a value creation opportunity.

The Business Case for Sustainability

Regenerative tourism is not just an ethical imperative; it’s a compelling business strategy. As the Morgan Stanley report highlights, sustainability is increasingly seen as a driver of long-term value creation. In the tourism sector, regenerative practices can lead to:

• Enhanced Brand Reputation: A 2023 survey by Deloitte revealed that 75% of millennials and 77% of Gen Z consumers are more likely to purchase from companies with strong sustainability practices. In the tourism industry, this translates to increased appeal among conscious travelers who seek

destinations that prioritize environmental and social responsibility.

• Cost Savings: Implementing energy-efficient technologies, such as solar panels and smart grids, can significantly reduce operational costs for hotels and resorts. Additionally, waste reduction strategies, like composting and recycling, can minimize waste disposal expenses.

• Increased Employee Productivity and Retention: Creating a positive work environment that values social responsibility and environmental stewardship can lead to a more engaged and motivated workforce. This can result in reduced turnover costs and improved operational efficiency.

• Access to Green Financing: The global green bond market reached $523 billion in 2021 , and this figure is expected to grow exponentially. Tourism businesses that adopt regenerative practices can tap into this growing pool of capital to finance their projects.

• Long-Term Financial Returns: A study by the University of Oxford found that sustainable tourism businesses have a higher survival rate and are more resilient to economic shocks. This indicates that regenerative tourism is not only good for the planet but also a sound long-term investment.

Regenerative Tourism in Action: The Saudi Arabian Experience

Saudi Arabia’s commitment to regenerative tourism is evident in several ambitious projects:

• The Red Sea Project: This giga-project is set to become a global benchmark for sustainable tourism. It aims to achieve a 30% net conservation benefit by 2040 through initiatives such as coral reef restoration, mangrove planting, and the protection of endangered species. The project is also powered entirely by renewable energy, minimizing its carbon footprint.

• The RIG: An oil rig, transformed into an adventure sports and luxury resort, is a testament to the potential of repurposing industrial structures for sustainable tourism. The RIG will feature underwater restaurants, adventure activities, and educational programs focused on marine conservation. Circular Economy Co. has supported The RIG in designing it’s Enivronment, Social and Governance (ESG) Strategy.

• Qiddiya: This entertainment mega-project is being developed with a focus on sustainability, incorporating green building practices, water conservation measures, and waste management systems. Qiddiya aims to be a model for sustainable urban development in the region.

• Diriyah: This historic city is being revitalized with a focus on preserving its cultural heritage while creating a sustainable tourism destination. The project includes the restoration of traditional mudbrick buildings, the creation of pedestrian-friendly zones, and the implementation of sustainable transportation systems.

Circular Economy Co.’s work in AlUla and AlSoudah showcases the transformative power of regenerative tourism.

Alula- creating a closed-loop system

In AlUla, collaboration with the Royal Commission of AlUla (RCU) is underway to develop a circular economy model for the region. This involves implementing sustainable practices in various sectors, including agriculture, waste management, and energy production. The goal is to create a closed-loop system where resources are used efficiently and waste is minimized. A systemic review of sustainability parameters is being conducted, and pathways are being created for embedding a circular economy into various facilities, including hotels, resource management parks, and nurseries. This work includes energy and carbon modeling, GHG calculations, and waste management planning.

AlSoudah- restoring and enhancing the environment

In AlSoudah, a comprehensive visual pollution assessment was conducted, identifying over 6,481 instances across various classifications, with the highest being electrical pollution. The estimated cost to rectify this pollution was 116.8 million SAR. Air quality and noise level assessments were also conducted, finding that air quality met national standards, while noise

levels exceeded standards due to traffic. Based on these findings, recommendations were provided for immediate rectification, collaboration with regulatory entities, community awareness campaigns, and the development of a sustainable environmental management plan.

The Path Forward Regenerative tourism is not just a trend; it’s a paradigm shift in how

we approach travel and tourism. In Saudi Arabia, this shift is well underway, driven by a commitment to sustainability, a vision for economic diversification, and the expertise of local consultancy firms. As the Kingdom continues to develop its tourism sector, regenerative tourism will play an increasingly important role in creating sustainable destinations that benefit both the environment and the economy.

FASHION SANCTUARY: EMBRACING PERSONAL EXPRESSION IN THE HEART OF LUXURY

ENG. SORAKA SARIA AL-KHATIB

In the ever-evolving world of fashion, where trends emerge and fade with the seasons, there’s a growing movement that transcends the superficial layers of style. It’s about redefining fashion as a sanctuary—a personal refuge where individuality, comfort, and self-expression reign supreme. I invite you to explore this transformative philosophy and discover how fashion can become a sanctuary in your life.

The Outside-In Perspective

For many, fashion is an external statement, a way to present oneself to the world. It’s influenced by the latest trends, social media, and societal expectations. This outside-in approach often leads to wardrobes curated to impress others, reflecting the external market rather than personal authenticity. While there’s a place for such expression, it can sometimes leave us feeling disconnected and unfulfilled. The relentless pursuit of approval can turn fashion into a mask, obscuring our true selves.

The Inside-Out Approach

Imagine fashion as more than just a public display. Picture it as a sanctuary—a space where every piece of clothing reflects your innermost self. This inside-out approach prioritizes personal comfort and connection over external validation. It’s about dressing for your own eyes and soul, creating a harmonious and joyful relationship with your wardrobe.

Creating Your Fashion Sanctuary

To transform your wardrobe into a sanctuary, consider these steps:

1. *Color Palette*: Designing a contemporary and seasonal color palette is essential. Break the year into four seasons and choose colors from the same family for each season. Apply this palette consistently across all your categories, including trousers, T-shirts, shoes, shirts, vests, blazers, underwear, and socks. Further, break it down by occasion—dress, casual, smart casual, sports, formal, and hangouts. This approach ensures a cohesive and harmonious wardrobe that reflects your style throughout the year.

2. *Function & Use*: Address the fabric structure under each seasonal category and consider multiple uses for each item. Choose materials that are appropriate for the climate and versatile enough to suit various occasions. For example, lightweight fabrics for summer, layered options for winter, and breathable materials for sportswear. This ensures that your wardrobe is not only stylish but also practical and functional yearround.

3. *Comfort & Style*: Select brands that resonate with your personality and values. Look for reliable brands known for their quality and craftsmanship. Your clothing should feel as good as it looks, with textures, fits,

and styles that bring you joy and confidence. This personal connection to your wardrobe enhances your sense of comfort and style, making fashion a true reflection of your inner self.

4. *Brand Equity / Personal Touch*: Incorporate elements that hold personal significance and reflect your heritage. For example, in the Western region of Saudi Arabia, the waistcoat is a traditional garment that can add a unique touch to your wardrobe. These personal touches add depth and meaning to your clothing, making it uniquely yours and enhancing your personal brand.

The Mirror Moment

The true essence of fashion as a sanctuary comes alive when you look in the mirror. In this space, you see a reflection that you truly connect with. Every detail, from the color of your socks to the cut of your outfit, aligns perfectly with your sense of self. It’s in this moment that you realize fashion is more than just clothing; it’s a way to honor the person behind the mirror. This connection is profound and deeply fulfilling.

A Personal Journey

Standing in your room, surrounded by your carefully curated wardrobe, you experience a profound

connection with yourself. This space becomes your sanctuary, a place where you feel truly seen and appreciated by the most important person—you. It’s a journey of self-discovery and acceptance, where fashion becomes a tool for self-expression and personal harmony.

Conclusion

Fashion, in its truest form, is not about conforming to external expectations but about expressing your authentic self. By redefining fashion as a personal sanctuary, we can find a deeper connection with ourselves and embrace our true identities. So, next time you open your wardrobe, think of it as a sacred space—one that reflects your inner world and brings you joy and peace. Embrace fashion as a sanctuary, and discover the joy of seeing your true self reflected in every choice you make.

In this new era of fashion, let’s celebrate individuality and personal expression. Let’s make our wardrobes sanctuaries of self-discovery and authenticity.

In this article, we delve into how fashion can transform from an external statement into a personal sanctuary, celebrating self-expression and inner harmony.

THE LINE

Azero-carbon city designed around people and surrounded by nature, for unparalleled livability. Where everything will be accessible within a five-minute walk, the climate is perfect all yearround and the work-life balance will be truly world-class.

“We cannot ignore the livability and environmental crises facing our world’s cities, and NEOM is leading a team of the brightest minds in architecture, engineering, and construction to make the idea of building upwards a reality.”

His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Chairman of the NEOM Company Board of Directors

THE LINE sits alongside our mountain destination Trojena, our luxury island experience Sindalah and our gateway for advanced and clean industries Oxagon – as one of NEOM’s regions.

The flagship city of NEOM

“The idea of no cars, commutes, congestion or pollution — and a circular economy with little or no waste in a cognitive city set against a backdrop of thriving nature. That is compelling for anyone. What I find inspiring here at NEOM is that there are some of the best minds in the world, all in the same place at the same time.”

Redefining the modern city

The world is urbanizing at an incredible rate, with people flocking to crowded global cities. But these cities weren’t designed to deal with such rapid population increases, and the result is an ever-expanding urban sprawl with people getting further and further away from where they need to work.

THE LINE will deliver a brand-new approach; without the pollution, congestion, inefficiency, urban sprawl and inequality that traditional cities suffer from.

Innovating a modular approach

Our ambition is to have a million people living on THE LINE in 2030 –which means building a lot of real estate in a short space of time.

The key to achieving this is using artificial intelligence to design modular and standardized pieces that are pre-engineered for specific purposes. We can then produce these pieces in large-scale volumes at factories within NEOM, reducing transportation costs and making assembly on site easy and quick.

JAX District has been designated an Industrial Heritage Site by the Heritage Commission of the Saudi Ministry of Culture.

This prestigious recognition is part of the Industrial Heritage Preservation Program, which protects and celebrates locations of historical industrial significance throughout Saudi Arabia.

The designation highlights JAX District’s unique industrial architecture and places it alongside other sites across the Kingdom that showcase the evolution of the industry and its role in shaping society.

Recognizing JAX District not only pays tribute to its past as a center for large-scale industrial projects, but also underscores the District’s role as a cultural landmark that blends historical preservation with innovative contemporary activations.

Built in the 1970s, JAX—named after the company that built the site— consists of a striking assembly of large warehouses that formed an important industrial center in the Riyadh region.

In the mid-2000s, JAX’s commercial tenants began to move out, a group of graffiti artists used the walls of the abandoned warehouses as a makeshift canvas and young artists also created workshops and studios in the empty spaces.

Central to this community-led transformation has been the establishment of new creative spaces such as art galleries, studios, and cafés, as well as major cultural institutions and office spaces for creative agencies.

Celebrating both its industrial heritage and its fostering of contemporary creative culture, JAX

District attracts local and international interest through events such as the Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale, XP MDLBEAST Music Futures, Hia Hub, and Noor Riyadh. The Saudi Arabia Museum of Contemporary Art (SAMoCA), the first contemporary art museum in

the Kingdom, is also a focal point within the district.

This historic industrial district now thrives as a dynamic, inclusive community where creative production is both nurtured and put on prominent display.
