EDITOR’S LETTER
EDITORIAL This is the time for change, a change in the weather, a change in our relationships and most importantly change as a nation. With winter, the year officially bids goodbye and signals the inevitable coming of what we all hope will be a much more prosperous new year. This month holds special significance for us as Bangladeshis. It is the month of victory and of remembrance. Each year we remember our freedom fighters who without hesitation gave their lives and fought bravely for an independent Bangladesh - so that we may live in peace and enjoy freedom. Although we have made great strides in some sectors, there is still a lot left to be done. The gist of each and every religion is peace, harmony, cordiality and so on. We the Bangladeshis irrespective of caste, color and creed leading our life based on this gist. Now it is the time of red and green decorations, silver bells, and colored lights. It is also a time of Santa’s calling out their mantra, “Ho Ho Ho! Merry Christmas!” Apart from being a religious festival for the ‘Christians’, it is also an occasion for reunion. People irrespective of religion and cast join in with the greeting, “Merry Christmas!” Let us all celebrate this winter season and the holidays with our loved ones and make a commitment to build a nation that our freedom fighters dreamed of. Be safe and happy celebration.

All Roads lead to an Icon -Imran Saif
Style
like all other art forms is limited only by the imagination. From the subdued to the outrageous, there is never an end to what is conceivable. For some it is too difficult to master, for others it seems as effortless as putting on something that fits well. The common misconception is that not everyone can look stylish or look good. The wrong hat or shoe worn with classy suit can make the whole combination look disastrous, similarly a great shoe worn with an average getup can sometimes work well too. There are infinite possibilities so there are infinite good and bad looks. The easiest way to be sure that you lean towards the former is by choosing and emulating your style icon. A style icon may be your favorite singer, actress, model, leaders of countries or even someone a lot closer to you. It may be a member of your family or a friend. Simply put, it is someone who presents themselves to others in a way they want to. They are influencers, trend setters, they push boundaries and set new ones. They inspire others by being themselves. Each of them have their signature look, a style that they call their own. You must find something that reflects your personality. Imagine you are the canvas and the clothes are your paint and brush. Now start to imagine and put down what you feel. A mirror does not lie, stand in front of it and you will see what others will see. Now imagine what your style icon looks like. Does your style represent you as much as your icon’s style represents him or her? Highlight your best feature, make sure everyone is focused where you want them to. Those who are fashionable know this and use this to their advantage. Your fashion choices have to compliment or exaggerate your best feature(s). Your eyes, your lips, your smile, etc. these are what often express the uniqueness about you and holds the key to finding your style identity.

The noted Bengali actress Indrani Halder, winner of the best actress award at the Madrid International Film Festival 2008 for ‘Jara Bristite Bhijechhilo’, is a style icon that many look up to. She carries herself with utmost grace and it is reflected in her overall style. She is definitely someone the young generation wants to emulate. Her beautiful long hair and her impeccable taste in accessories and clothes captivates young girls who aspire to be like her. The young among you are especially vulnerable to mishaps when it comes to fashion choices. You tend to be bombarded with countless options and the result is often confusion and loss of identity. Therefore it helps to have an icon who they can follow and learn from. Eventually they develop their own style which evolves into a more refined one over time. It is also important to observe trends and keep up with them. Doing this will ensure that you are never caught out of fashion. Dressing appropriately for an occasion is half the battle. You must understand the context of each event and make sure you are not crossing any lines when it comes to selecting what you want to wear. If you are unsure then look no further than your style icon. Observe how they look when walking about in public, when at a party or during awards night. Granted, they have the benefit of personal stylists, makeup artists and brands lining up to have them wear their dresses. But you have the advantage of being an observer and student of fashion. Look at each new style as a fresh new lesson for you to absorb and add to your knowledge. Now, when it comes to winter, people are divided. Some camps love the cold while others long for sunshine and warmth. Warmer climates also make it possible for you to wear less and be more stylish. But winter, true to its cold nature allows for no such thing. It’s a season when people prefer to stay indoors and snuggle up under blankets to stay warm and save themselves from the chilly embrace of harsh winter winds. One might be forgiven in thinking that style is the last thing on people’s minds when they are battling the climate and hoping for a hint of the sun which has now all but abandoned them. But don’t despair! You get ample opportunities to look stylish in winter. Among the exciting options available to you are boots, hats, scarves, sweaters and leggings. You can wear long sleeved clothing that fits well in order to wear a denim jacket or cardigan. For girls, you can’t go wrong this season with a simple boatneck style cashmere sweater. 6 PAGES

COVER STORY Admit it, you always wanted to wear boots and winter finally gives you that opportunity. For both guys and girls, when selecting boots go with brown and avoid darker colors. Tall boots for girls look incredibly stylish when worn with knee high socks. Scarves are the perfect accessory which gives you that extra element of style while keeping you warm and comfy. Try to avoid fur as it does not get cold enough to pull that off. Also there is a bit of controversy about mistreatment of animals when it comes to fur. Leather is making a comeback this winter and you won’t be caught out of style if you wear a leather jacket or skirt. On the plus side it will keep you quite warm. As far as coats go, you will do well to invest in a knee length pea coat which will be effective in fighting of cold winds while making you look incredibly stylish. You can be braver and go with a calf length coat. Thin long cardigan sweaters, when you match it with jeans or leggings, look great and is usually a safe bet. Keep in mind that you need to color coordinate what you wear. Of course, looking stylish won’t mean anything if you fall sick during winter. Enjoy the seasonal fruits and vegetables while staying committed to a healthy diet. In Bangladesh winter vegetables include: cauliflower, cabbage, radish, carrot, bit, turnip, tomato, leafy spinach and red spinach – All of which can be extremely beneficial to your health and delicious when prepared correctly. Plenty of rest is also just as important. This means going to bed when you feel exhausted and waking up early feeling refreshed. You need to be ready to combat any onslaught on your weakened immune system – effected by the cold. Because the immune system is vulnerable, it is important to constantly wash your hands, discard used tissues, avoid sharing food and drink containers and avoid getting too close to those who are sick by keeping a safe distance from them when you are with them. There is no magic potion that helps your style icon stay in good health and looking fit. Search a bit and you will discover that they follow a strict lifestyle which enables them to stay radiant and looking good. The importance of exercise cannot be ignored, especially in winter. Icons hit the gym or exercise to stay in shape and you should too. Ultimately, you will succeed in looking good and feeling great with a little bit of observation, inspiration and personal touch.

Bangladeshi Wedding
Wedding is the most important event in our life, particularly in South and Southeast Asia. In Bangladeshi bride-groom expect to make many changes to their life after getting married, the most difficult being moving out of her parents' home and moving in with her new in-laws. Despite any hardships that come with marriage, though, most girls grow up dreaming about the big day when they will marry their prince.

Bangladeshi wedding is comprised of multiple rituals and ceremonies. Before the wedding, there is an engagement ceremony. This is followed by a Holud, or turmeric ceremony, in which the bride's family gathers to eat and apply turmeric paste and henna to the bride-to-be. The bride also attends a Mehendi or henna decoration ceremony before finally having her wedding. Some weddings have an additional reception put on by the groom’s family. A traditional Bangladeshi wedding takes months of preparation, and immense attention is paid to the details of the bride's clothing, makeup, and jewelry. Before a woman gets married she usually does a lot research into what to wear on her wedding day. This gallery will help soon-to-be brides & grooms decide if they will clothe and how they can best complement red wedding garments with jewelry and makeup.

Clothing
Bangladeshi brides look absolutely stunning in red bridal sarees. One popular trend right now is the bridal katan, which is a very traditional wedding saree. Katan sarees have a silky base with gold or silver zari work all over the saree. Many brides nowadays are going for heavy bridal lehengas for their weddings. A lehenga is a three-piece garment consisting of an elaborately designed skirt, a blouse, and a beautifully decorated duppatta (a big piece of cloth that drapes over the head like a veil). Lehenga skirts come in different shapes, such as a-line, fish-tail or mermaid cut, or voluminous full skirts. A lehenga blouse can be just short enough to cover the bosom, long enough not to show any midriff, and some can almost reach the knees. In case of the bridegroom the preferable wedding wear in Bangladesh is Kurta-payjama or traditional Bangladeshi sharwany, shirt, pent, coat, Panjabi etc. In Hindu culture it turns into dhuti-panjabi or sharwany. The bridegroom in both culture wear a common hat known as topor.

Bridal Attire, Makeup, and Jewelry
From the bridal photography above, it is evident that brides like to wear red lipstick to match their red clothes. Bridal makeup in Bangladesh is very elaborate. Brides often sport sweeping false lashes on beautifully painted eyes. There are many beauty parlors in Bangladesh that do bridal makeup, but brides trust only a few top-rated beauticians to do their makeup on their special day. In Bangladesh, brides wear a lot of gold jewelry on their wedding day to complement their ornate wedding attire. Brides often wear multiple heavy gold necklaces, big earrings, head jewelry, and lots of gold bangles. Beautiful gold jewelry is given as a gift to the bride by her family and the groom's family. Many family heirlooms are passed on to brides on their wedding day. It's also important for brides to have beautifully done hair and makeup. These images highlight the intricate hairstyles and impeccable makeup favored by Bangladeshi brides. Bridegroom can wear stylish wrist watch. 12 PAGES

A bridal looks incomplete without mehndi because it is an old tradition of almost every asian country. It provide uniqueness to the beauty of a bride which attracts other towards her. There are many types of mehndi but three of them are very popular which include Arabic, Pakistani and Indian mehndi designs. The other name of this beauty product is henna and this name is usually called in USA and UK. Every girl wants to look very beautiful and awesome on her wedding day. WINTER CLOTHING
AMBER LIFE STYLE The sober sky of autumn has been lost behind a layer of fog. We can often hear a melancholic tune of departure in the midst of the solitary woods. Elderly people also wake up early in the morning and patiently wait at the yard. Don’t worry! It’s nothing disheartening. It’s just a glimpse of sunlight that they wait for. True, a few depressing words have been used in the introduction, but that doesn’t reflect the complete picture of winter. Yes, dry skin and rough natural conditions are some regular elements of winter. But, at the same time, winter comes with a variety of occasions and reasons to celebrate. You may even get to add some color to your life thanks to the new stylish jacket you just bought. Not only jackets -sweater, blazer,
poncho or shrugs are among the many style options which can make winter a season of joy.
When it comes to winter clothing, outer wear is the first to come to mind naturally. In this regard, Hollywood icons, singers or other celebrities usually act as the trend setter. We have seen megastars like Justin Bieber or Kate Middleton change trends overnight while out on a leisurely walk. Hollywood or Bollywood- no matter where the trend comes from, customers prefer the local trend, especially when it comes to clothes. According to of Amber Lifestyle, locally produced export quality clothes which making for European and American market but according

to local peoples fit and comfort have always been the first choice for customers. As we have not winter like western countries our people don't need to wear heavy clothes to protect them from cold. And it's only for few months. Other than heavy wool amber prefer to make remi cotton with a percentage of Lycra to get worm and comfort. Cottonviscose blend, cotton-Lenen blend, linen blazer, bottoms with little heavier than summer with elasticity but maximum recovery should be there to attach with body all the time. As the life is colorful amber mixed the color in bottom wears. Long gown with simple but smart stone set on collar looks really great. Knit is always better but it has to be doubling mercerized which feels the

body more relaxed. Viscose and moral is the good option instead of cotton and also both may mixed. For teenagers and young adults, Amber Lifestyle focuses on Hoodie/ Jacket-Hoodie. Leather jacket, denim jacket with comfort stretch make a man or woman more stylish and confident. For females, Kate Middleton fever is still going strong. Overcoats with a princess line cut has become extremely popular. This year, Amber Lifestyle is offering variations such as the flair shape cut, align flair shape, panel line and so on. Besides that, full sleeve tops in semi-long patterns have become immensely popular among the young demographic. We have seen the demand for sweaters with asymmetric cut as well. Long denim shirts with upto knee for ladies are really awesome. For those who like boots, this is the most appropriate season topacify the plea. People generally prefer to stick to the safe and conventionalonce they go through some serious phases of experimentation. Last year we have seen different fashion houses conduct massive experiments when it comes to colors, such as: color blocking, vibrant colors or dense printing. So this year we might see some conventional colors such as black, ash, shades of grey or brown making a come back. Along with color, lots of other trends are coming back. We have already seen young entrepreneurs like Mark Zuckerberg or Salman khan attending office meetings in some relatively

casual outfits. The trend pushed the designers to reopen their scrapbooks on V-neck sweaters and cardigans. However, some designers this year are working on Shawl collar sweaters by keeping a rolled collar and lapel in one piece. For those who prefer a formal look, blazers in solid colors never go out of fashion. We have already seen different fashion houses coming up with their winter clothing collections. No matter what you choose to wear, make sure it reflects the spirit of winter and goes with the current trend of colors and style. Have fun with combinations that make you look good, keeps you warm and comfy, and most importantly, makes you feel confident and happy. Now go out smiling and enjoy the wonderful season!

The War is over, the freedom fighters held a procession of celebration and slogan. The insomnia, starvation and anxiety of the past 9 months did not bring even a little bit of fatigue to anyone’s body. There is overwhelming joy in each and every home across all of Bangla. Every rooftop is proudly flying an independent country’s flag. People are embracing each other, hugging each other. They are bowing and kissing the ground. Every so often the slogan of “Joy Bangla”, with a heaven and earth shattering cry, can be heard. Today the sun is different from the one that rose yesterday, today there is freedom songs in the air, and tunes of freedom in the heart. From today onwards, Bengali belongs to a free country. Even in this victory, there is anticipation on the mind of the mother who has lost her child; when will my son return!
30 PAGES
There is restlessness in the mind of the wife; when will she see her darling husband! There is uncertainty in the mind of the sister, whose brother had to run away from home during the war.
These dearly loved children might never return to their mother’s loving arms. Neither will the married men, who wed just before the war, return to see their young wife’s face. In this vast land of Bangla, maybe they fought and became martyrs. The motherland has taken them deep into her heart and loving embrace. In thousands of homes across Bangla, from within the cries of those who have lost their fathers, brothers and husbands bursts out the red sun of victory and shines bright proudly in the sky. After losing too much, they have at last tasted victory. Today when I see that dirt covered face of the teenage freedom fighter, a question arises, will we be able to live up to the cost of this struggle?
When I see the sweating farmer turned freedom fighter and his blank stare, a question arises, will we be able to do anything about his helplessness? Will we be able? That student who ran away from home to join the war, that youth who put the country before his dearest ones, that middle-aged man who kept his family and children waiting because of his homeland, will we ever be able to repay their debts? The question remains …
I know that these people who bet their lives on the country, went to war without expecting anything in return.
Some work still remains after 43 years, even today there are those opposing the independence of the country roaming this land, taking part in politics. Without vanquishing them from politics, society and without cutting off their finances, it is not possible to make the Shonar Bangla that the freedom fighters envisioned … To devalue and disregard the resistors to the independence of the country is our commitment for this Victory Day! WHERE THE WORLD AND YOUR IMAGINATION MEET The history of literature in
Bangladesh is a rich one dating back centuries. Both pre and post independent Bangladesh has seen the creation of many forms of literature, from exquisite poetries to thought provoking novels. Moinul Islam: Main factor of my inspiration is my Passion on brand and marketing. I never took my responsibility just as office work. I love my works, I made it my habit and passion. I always try to set and compare my brand strategy with global brands. Some of the global brands activities inspire me more to do the best and setting the benchmark.

Every time I faced different challenges as every products category have different dynamics. Moreover, Market is changing fast, consumers preference level vary rapidly, people are being more urbanized. So, everyday is marketers’ challenging day. At our work place we deal with different projects and each projecthas separate objectives and challenge. Last year, I got an additional responsibility of Sales department. Now I’m looking after the confectionery’s sales department along with confectionery marketing department. We have 5 sales channel for confectionery business where 2,150 sales people are working. I’m heading those 5 sales channel. It’s definitely new venture and challenge for me. I’m doing this additional responsibility full heartedly and already made record sales. M I: Actually it depends on product category & business objectives. For instance, in the case of impulse products we focus on place and promotion but for commodity products we focus on price. On the other hand, for market leader or market challenger or market follower, every player should have different blend of 4Ps. The Pages: If could start again, what would you do differently? M I: If I could start again my life, I would be a professional theatre artist and cultural activist. More than 12 years I was fully involved with different cultural activities. I was president of TSC, DU based recitation group (SwarakalpanAbritichokro), I was an executive member of a theatre group (Prangonemor). But due to professional busyness I couldn’t continue my cultural activity. The Pages: What invaluable advice would you give to people seeking a career as a marketing professional or communication strategist? Since the dawn of time, gathering over food has been a crucial aspect for mankind. On the quest of gathering food, men hunted almost every possible nock and corner- water, land, forests, desert even mountains. At the end of the day, they returned with foods from different places. Gradually, they learned the usefulness and impracticality of different sort of foods. Different foods contain different sort of nutrition or ingredients. Oil is an integral part of our regular cooking process. No kitchen is complete, if there is no oil available for cooking.Edible oil is produced through the extraction of seeds. Different types of seeds usually produce different kind of edible oil. The same way, soybean oil is extracted from soya seeds. Soya fruits look a lot like pea-pods. Every fruit has two to four grains. Soybean oil has Iodine, vitamin E. Iodine helps against diseases like thyroids.

In many countries around the world, soybean is commercially cultivated. The biggest soybean producing countries are USA, Brazil, Argentina, Canada, China, India, Australia, Bolivia and Paraguay. Almost
desh, some soybeans are cultivated in LaxmipurNoakhaliBhola, Barisal district and northern areas. But it’s very little in quantity. Soybean mashed is really delicious. Soya milk is also nutritious. Biodiesel can also

CRADLE TO GATE (Farmer To Product)
The soybean oil we use to cook, we get it after refining. In our country, the oil we get is crude. We import crude soybean oil from different exporting countries via ships. It’s also known as CDSBO or crude degummed soybean oil around the world. This CDSBO goes through Chittagong seaport and into our country’s oil refineries to be refined. CDSBO has a lot of elements mixed that can be harmful to the human body. Crude has gum that can be very harmful to humans. The gum is extracted by heating the crude with phosphoric acid or caustic. Then cholesterol level is decreased to the point where the human body can tolerate. After that, by continuing filtrations, it’s made edible. All over the world, soybean oil is presented in the market in two ways. The oil stored in open drums is
called loose oil. This oil is also packed into poly pack and cans and brought to consumers. Loose oil is not safe for health because it can be adulterated. Especially when imported crude is unloaded at Chittagong, then some dishonest local workers, smugglers sell that crude with the help of some dishonest oil businessmen. These businessmen only mix garlic with the crude and heat it before selling it in the market. To be safe from this type of unhealthy oil, you should buy oil from companies that sell double refined oil with double sealed security cans. From 1991, a multinational company called Bangladesh Edible Oil Limited has been renowned to be providing this service. Scientists who study nutrition has
said that because of having Omega 3 and 6, soybean oil helps to keep high blood pressure under control, provides the necessary nutrition for children during pregnancy, saves the health of hair and helps to prevent and cure eyes’ glaucoma disease. Soybean, that is to say soybean oil has lots of nutritious qualities. Soybean oil became popular in Bangladesh during the 1960s. Then, direct refined oil had to be imported. Two to three refineries were also established. At present, there are thirteen to fourteen companies that are involved in edible oil business and there are almost 32 refineries. But because of increase in population, the demand can’t be fulfilled completely. There is also a big difference between the price and people’s capability to buy that creates dissatisfaction. But because

of increase in crude price in international market, our country’s mill owners are forced to raise the local price. Finally, the nature and climate of Bangladesh have been proven very suitable for cultivation of soya tree. There is a natural scope for the farmers and commercial producers. Therefore, a little attention and care from the governing bodies would definitely put the name of Bangladesh forward along with top producers such as USA, Brazil and Argentina.

global warming is an issue that calls for a global response. The rapid change in climate will be too great to allow many eco-systems to suitably adapt, since the change have direct impact on biodiversity, agriculture, forestry, dry land, water resources and human health. Due to unusual weather pattern, rising greenhouse gas, declining air quality etc. society demands that business also take responsibility in safeguarding the planet. In addition, Bangladesh is one of the most climate change vulnerable countries and floods, tropical cyclones, storm surges, droughts are likely to become more frequent and severe in the coming years. Banks/Financial Institutions (FIs) in Bangladesh need to protect their financing from the risks arising out of the deteriorating environmental scenario and climate change. The development of financial products to respond to environmental

challenges has reached a stage such that environmental finance can be recognized as an emerging field of research and practice. A Green Bank is an ethical bank, a socially responsible bank or a sustainable bank. Green bank is to provide innovative green products to support the activities that are not hazardous to environment and help conserve environment. Green finance as a part of GreenBanking makes great contribution to the transition to resource-efficient and low carbon industriesi.e. green industry and green economy in general. Green banking is a component of the global initiative by a group of stakeholders to save environment. In response to the above, urgent measures are required by stake holders for sustainable development and thereby save the planet.
Banks/FIs as financial intermediary hold a unique position in an economic system that can affect production, business and other economic activities through their financing activities and thus may contribute to pollute environment. Moreover, energy and water efficiency and waste reduction are of high concern for FIs. Green FIs or environmentally responsible FIs do not only improve their own standards but also affect socially responsible behavior of other business. To make Pollution Free Healthy Green Bangladesh, now it is the high time for the banks to adopt a comprehensive Green Banking Policy in a formal and structured manner in line with global n orms so as to protect environmental degradation and ensure sustainable banking practices. With a view to developing green banking practices in the

country, an indicative Green Banking Policy and Strategy framework has been developed by Bangladesh Bank (BB). BB advised all Banks/FIs to adopt a comprehensive Green Banking Policy and also instructed to implement the same within the time frame. As directives of Bangladesh Bank, Green Banking Policy needs to be covered through time frame work which will be segregated into three phases Under phase one Banks are to develop green banking policies and show general commitment on environment through in-house performance. A high powered Committee comprises of directors from the Board in should be responsible to review the banks’ environmental policies, strategies and program. Banks shall approve a considerable fund in their annual budget allocation for green banking. Banks are required to establish a separate Green Banking Unit or Cell having the responsibility of designing, evaluating and administering related green banking issues of the banks. A senior executive should be assigned with the responsibility of heading the unit. The unit will report to the high powered committee time to time.

MOVIE REVIEW
On the hype generated by the movie prior to its release, Ferdous said that he was a bit worried that the film got overhyped and the audience might be expecting too much when going in to see it. Coming back to the director, Noieem Imtiaz Niyamul, it seems that he has successfully made the transition from the small screen to the big screen. It feels like an honest and a good first effort. Although not as well thought out and polished experience as it could have been it still makes for entertaining viewing. He had several well received small screen efforts and Ferdous took a big risk by letting him direct his first film as a producer. This might have been a bold move for him considering the anticipation from those who wanted watched the film. Given how quickly the word spreads in today’s oversharing always connected world, it will not be a mistake to think that the movie will earn back the cost of making the film and do well. This goes with the recent trend of local films doing well at the theatres
Ek Cup Cha may not have been a benchmark setting reflection of the rich arts culture and heritage of Bangladesh, but it will satisfy fans of the lead stars and provide an important foundation for the director to build and expand from. Another positive that can be taken away from Ek Cup Cha is the music -which includes a song penned by the late great Humayun Ahmed. The credit for the music largely goes to the composers and artists performing the music. The father daughter duo of Alamgir and Akhi Alamgir were among those who worked on the project. It is easy to recommend this film as something more than a casual time killer. Hopefully we will see better efforts from the director and expect better quality productions from Ferdous Ahmed-as this was their first effort in new roles and they can only improve and keep their fans expectant for their next projects.

year starts off so hot and high-energy, Aries, that you may sometimes look in the mirror and wonder who that person is! Your true New Year, Aries, begins the day after a Solar Eclipse (March 21 - the day the Sun enters your sign), with Uranus and Mars both conjunct the Moon. Feelings may run rampant for a few weeks, but life will settle down to a subdued roar and thunder, leaving you to feel like you could succeed at just about ARIES anything. Use that confidence and energy while being wildly creative, social, and happy in August when the Sun meets Jupiter in fiery Leo. The September 13 Solar Eclipse is a brief but intense moment to look back. Are you staying healthy and on track? In November, be willing to take on more responsibility and authority, and afterward find yourself to be a more matured, refined person. This helps greatly in any career or business situation that might attract you later.
2015 is a great year for Taurus to begin something new and maybe choose a new direction for some part of
your life. Mentally, you may have been preparing, and now's the time. The Sun and Moon are both in Taurus as your year starts, so April and May could be the most agreeable for your plans. Love and relationships in general may take a slight hit in July and August when Venus goes retrograde from July 25 until September 6. Sometimes you need to go extra slow with people and affairs of the heart, that's all. Be extra creative and you'll be popular all summer long. The Mercury retrograde in Libra (September 17 to October 9) might stress relationships, but Venus rules here, too, and Taurus knows how to be sweet. Be healthy, happy, and good to yourself, especially in November and December!
TAURUS

015 is an exciting year, Gemini, when relationships bloom, opportunities for personal growth and maturity abound, and friends and family become more cherished. As blazing and energetic as the year begins, you have plenty of built-in pauses to stay on track and take care of all those people and things you love. Mercury retrograde (all in Air signs) is your friend. Yes, really! January 21 to February 11 (Mercury in Aquarius) is a calmer social GEMINI period; May 18 to June 11 (in Gemini) lets you mentally regroup and rethink what might have been done with too much haste the month before. September 17 to October 9 (in Libra) offers a chance to take a second look at any agreements or commitments you made or that were made to you earlier in the year. Socially, Gemini is running in high gear all year. Eat healthy and get enough rest, and moderate those social indulgences. Friends and family are there to remind you how important you are, especially in the July. It is a fun, fabulous year!
You may feel a bit like a sea creature out of water this year, with only sensitive Neptune in a fellow Water
Sign (Pisces). This will illuminate your instincts, feelings, and intuition compared to all the other signs. Keeping your emotions controlled may be the biggest challenge in late June and July, when the Sun and Saturn move into Water Signs, too. The first two months you will be focused more on others, but make sure you also take good care of yourself so you can properly be there for loved ones or friends if they need you. People keep you busy with fun in May and June. Your mind may motor in high gear while your attention zooms in on family, home, and what you love best. Things should calm down after the Sun-Mars conjunction on June 14. With the Moon in Leo square Saturn in Scorpio on the Summer Solstice, you may not feel charming, but everyone will see your charm throughout the rest of the year!

have a well-balanced year ahead, Leo, with plenty of passionate Fire, sensitive Water, practical Earth, and diplomatic Air energies at your fingertips. Neptune will offer you illusions and comfortable escapes in February. Uranus will surprise and energize you in April. Mercury and Mars will tug at your heartstrings and family in July. Venus will make daily life more pleasant and comfortable than ever in September. What a year! Jupiter spends the first half of 2015 in your sign, Leo, bringing good luck and abundance, but also the temptation to enjoy the good things in life in excess. Try to use moderation in all things, especially eating, spending, and socializing, and simply share the wealth. Jupiter is retrograde until April 8, so be aware of maintaining or improving your personal integrity. Energy might sag and minor health concerns could become a concern in November, when the Sun (the ruler of Leo) encounters Saturn. Balance and good sense can fix all. Take good care of yourself and enjoy each day to its fullest!

015 is a year of great luck and abundance, Virgo. There will also be strong feelings, opinions, and a great drive to succeed. It may be hard to think straight all the time amidst so much activity and bustling daily life, but you'll do your best. Expect opportunities and congenial people around you from January 1, as your ruling planet Mercury is in Capricorn along with the Sun, Venus, and Pluto. Capricorn is an Earth Sign and very compatible with you, Virgo. Jupiter enters Virgo on August 11. From then on, amplified good luck and prosperity VIRGO should blossom. Friends and family (particularly siblings) may be extra generous. It's a year to bring each other many happy times. Enhanced creativity, good times with groups of people (especially large gatherings), and a trip or two are all smiled upon this year. Be healthy, active, eat and rest well, because it's a busy year!

LIBRA
015 gives you a deeper desire for material security and luxury. This means you'll have greater motivation and ambition. In your gentle, agreeable Libra way, you'll accomplish more and attract more compatible people into your camp. You'll be extremely lucky with people, so network away! Then put social activities on pause during August, rest up and re-energize. Mercury goes retrograde in your sign (September 17 - October 9) and this is a great thing, too. Consolidate your team of friends and family members now, and see clearly who your truest supporters are. November and December are powerful times for you as well, particularly the last two days of December when your planet Venus moves into glorious Sagittarius.
owerful good luck and instant energy are at your fingertips in 2015, Scorpio. Given your natural level of
intensity, you'll need extra effort almost every day to not burn out or frazzle the people around you. Be cool and a bit distant if necessary in February and March when instincts are tested and people become harder to read. Reserve judgment about others but don't over-idealize them - namely friends and family. SCORPIO When Mars conjuncts Uranus (March 11) and when the Sun conjuncts Uranus (April 6), the Moon will be in Scorpio, affecting you more strongly than most other signs. Be braced for surprises. Respect your physical limits, avoid overexertion, and be healthy and ambitious. Such a fiery year can be hard on a Water Sign like you, but 2015 gives you plenty of Earth energy to anchor and get you through!

Emotional judgment is strong and true, too, especially in February. Saturn in Sagittarius this year adds to your patience and careful STGITTARIUS treatment of people and situations. Family and friends will think well of you no matter what, and could lavish extra affection on you in the springtime. Be well, active, and avoid too many extra calories too often, however yummy. This could be an ongoing challenge after early April, when Jupiter's retrograde ends. It's quite a delicious year, Sag!
Make
a major new start in 2015, Capricorn, or perhaps several minor ones. Let your heart and passion be your guides. Then be your own best friend rather than your own worst enemy. (All unlike you, I know!) Trust your gut. A slowly forming Jupiter-Saturn square (not perfected until August) will help keep you from going too far, too fast, or off track. Family supports you in a big way, perhaps wondering what took you so long. CAPRICON You have great ambition and energy for your work this year, and also great compassion. Your Capricorn year actually starts with the Capricorn New Moon (December 21, 2014). The day before, a Mars-Uranus sextile guarantees that you'll try your best and invent whatever you need, and the Venus-Pluto conjunction makes sure that you're noticed. Go out there and be amazing! Find healthy ways to de-stress and to nurture and encourage yourself. This becomes increasingly important as the year progresses. Remember, it's not failure if it doesn't work the first time. Persist!
2015 sees you firmly in control of your own world, Aquarius, as well as prominent and lucky in public. Jupiter
is at the top of your chart all year. You can keep your private goals and desires private and still shine and work wonders for others. Any nervousness won't show in your appearance or how you present yourself. Saturn in fiery Sagittarius supports you. Friends and family will see how hard you work and won't slow you down. But if you want help, just ask. Mercury and Venus in Aquarius oppose Jupiter and anchor your chart for the AQUARIUS year. Mercury goes retrograde in Aquarius (January 21-February 11), making you sharper and more cautious. Your health looks strong, but overdoing things will be an ongoing concern. Be safe and avoid silly, careless accidents. It's a very well-balanced but high energy year, Aquarius!
I
f you've ever dreamed of taking a step up and being a bigger, better you, 2015 is your year! Fresh, unexpected opportunities are everywhere, and doors will magically open for you, Pisces. Be sensible, not giddy. Take all this good luck seriously, and say "thank you" often. Give yourself enough attention and be healthy, especially in January through April. January and February (with the January 19 Mars-Neptune conjunction and the February 21 Venus-Mars conjunction) will keep you busy but happy. Family and friends help you keep a lid on the wild times and offer sanity, harmony, and gentle fun and relaxation close to home. People may have high expectations of you, especially in the summer, and you may overextend yourself trying not to disappoint anyone. Focus as much on yourself as others and become all that you want to be!
