We are grateful to you — our community.

We are grateful for your partnership to advance the mission of The Pegasus School. Thank you for your commitment to building wings so bright minds can soar. The support of our community makes a meaningful impact on our students and our school!

4 / PHILANTHROPY REPORT 2021-22
OUR MESSAGE TO YOU
We are Pegasus!

We are a vibrant academic community.

The story of Pegasus begins with intellectual curiosity and compassion. We inspire bright, motivated students to discover and develop their unique gifts.

Teachers and students build trusting relationships that foster self-reliance, confidence, and innovative thinking.

A Pegasus education equips students to achieve future academic success and to make a positive impact on society.

This is our Mission!

6 / PHILANTHROPY REPORT 2021-22
OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Dear Pegasus Community,

Last May, our high school graduates from the Class of 2018 were able to gather in the Fisch Bowl for their first Pegasus alumni reunion. Almost every member of the class attended because they were excited to connect with past classmates and to return to the place that has served as their foundation — Pegasus. In our classrooms, on our playgrounds, across our athletic fields, and on the theater stage, students at Pegasus discover their intellectual curiosity and develop a compassion for others and for their community. As I greeted the Class of 2018 and some of their parents, I realized this fact isn’t lost on our graduates. Many students and parents return to reminisce on those early educa tional moments as they mark this important milestone.

The 2021–2022 Philanthropy

Report is our opportunity to reflect on and appreciate the many contributions of the members of our community. Your time, talent, and resources allow us to continue to further our mission. We can challenge our students to think deeply, to actively engage in the learning process, and to appreciate the wonder that they discover. Our graduates make a difference in this world, and part of their success is due to your contributions and your commitment to Pegasus.

There are so many ways to contribute, and each one is important to the success of our programs and our school. When you volunteer, |you enrich the experiences of our students. The time that you give to the PTO, chaperoning field trips, or assisting in classrooms makes a difference. Your willingness to sit on a board committee or to act as a trustee, makes a difference.

8 / PHILANTHROPY REPORT 2021-22

Every hour of your time and every moment that you are present on campus makes a difference in the lives of our faculty and our students. Your financial contributions are also essential. Donations to the Annual Fund and the Spring Gala enable us to offer the programs that we do, and to go the extra mile, which in turn results in the incredible statistics such as the fact that our 60 graduates of the class of 2022 went off to spread their wings and soar at 20 different high schools. Our students

enter private, boarding, and high-per forming public schools, buoyed by the opportunities they had to not only have advanced study in incredible spaces, but to lead and to learn about themselves. Our dedicated and experienced faculty, our rich resources, and our ever-developing technologies, allow our students to have the absolute best, and it is because of you, our Pegasus family, that we are able to have and do so much for our children.

As we continue to celebrate our

successful history, we also embark into a future that is strengthened by the many ways that you have given to the Pegasus community. As each drop of water creates a ripple when it lands, your contributions bless both current and future Pegasus students — and we are so very grateful.

you,

THE PEGASUS SCHOOL.ORG / 9

Dear Pegasus Community,

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, thank you for the generosity you demonstrated in the 2021–2022 school year.

I am grateful for the gifts from the community of time and financial support in service to the Mission of The Pegasus School. Your participa tion in and generosity toward the Give to Great Annual Fund and Gala celebration in the Spring enhances the School’s commitment to provide academic, social-emotional, athletic, artistic, and extra-curricular programming for students to excel in their endeavors. Faculty and staff have the desired resources to deliver innovative and authentic educational experiences. Your collective effort continues to make the School a unique place to learn and flourish.

The School welcomed back its most significant number of

returning and new students to a robust in-person learning environment and safer campus even as COVID-19 continued.

Dr. Laura Hathaway, the School’s founder, believed that a Pegasus School education could transform a student’s capacity to be intellec tually curious, compassionate, and socially and emotionally confident.

Imbued with these characteristics, our graduates leave Pegasus as distinguished scholars, artists, and athletes who will positively impact the world around them. Your gifts make it possible to strengthen uniquely Pegasus School programs to benefit students from preKindergarten through Grade 8, make the School an affordable option, retain and attract professional faculty, and improve infrastructure.

The Board, guided by its fiduciary duties to the School,

10 / PHILANTHROPY REPORT 2021-22

continues to ascertain and oversee the fulfillment of the Mission, ensure long-term financial stability, and complete the strategic priorities of The Roots to Grow Wings to Soar Strategic Plan. The Board looks forward to engaging the School community in future strategic work and drawing upon your involvement

to transform student, faculty, and staff experiences. You enable this learning community to thrive not only for today, but for the generations to come.

Thank you for supporting The Pegasus School. Your gifts of service and philanthropy make a measurable difference to our diverse and vibrant students, faculty, and staff and assure

that we will continue in The Pegasus School tradition of intellectual curiosity and compassion.

With Gratitude,

THE PEGASUS SCHOOL.ORG / 11

RECOGNITION
DONOR

Dear Pegasus Community,

The 2021–2022 school year proved to be an exciting one as we welcomed some normalcy back to campus. The PTO was grateful to be able to fulfill our mission of encouraging parent involvement, promoting school spirit by bringing our community together, and utilizing our funds to directly benefit students and faculty during the year.

After a year without parents on campus, and with a full slate of events, all of the dedicated PTO volunteers hit the ground running. We welcomed the faculty and staff back to school with a breakfast and lunch during their prep week and then jumped right into the start of school by hosting a parent First Day Social and the all-important Fall Parent Parties, which are a vital part of community building.

Highlights of the year included

PEG-O-WEEN, the End of Year party, and Generations Day, where we were able to hear from and celebrate many generations of community members through their own personal journeys or through story books read by them. Despite being virtual, it still successfully reminded us of how fortunate our community is to be made up of families from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Service to others and parent and student education continue to remain important aspects of the Pegasus community. For FALL SERVE our students teamed with Project Hope Alliance to make birthday boxes for children experiencing homelessness, and at SPRING SERVE buddies worked together on self-care bags for students at a local elementary school. Additionally, the PTO funded two key educational programs for

the community: PEGtalks, a speaker series benefiting the parent communi ty, and PEGpresents, a program for our teachers and students. This year, PEGtalks welcomed psychologist Dr. Allison Briscoe-Smith in person and author Rene Jain virtually.

And we can’t forget about our year-round programs that depend on reliable volunteers to keep them going. Whether we are showering the faculty and staff with PEG LOVE each month, enhancing classrooms with our Wishlist program, checking that

emergency backpacks are stocked and ready, reuniting lost items with their rightful owners, ensuring our school swag is on trend, or recognizing each and every faculty and staff member on their birthday, the PTO is always working to enrich the Pegasus experience for the community.

This past year I was honored to serve as your PTO President and to represent the PTO on the Board of Trustees. I must thank the members of the PTO Executive Committee, as well

as the many volunteers that work in front of and behind the scenes for our collective success. And finally, none of the important work the PTO does would be possible without everyone’s contributions to the Give to Great Annual Fund each year. The generosity of the Pegasus community never disappoints.

With Gratitude,
