Reaching out to you MANIFESTING LIFE.

The belief CMC TV New merchandise

It's been a year. A year since I started planning. A year since I started working on my recycled paper postcards. And a year since my car broke down on me. Something went straight through my engine and it was over. So much money and effort was lost. It was a tough cookie to swallow, but for some reason it was a reason for me to believe even more in what I do. It motivated me to work even harder. I want to coach. I want to speak. I want to set an example and create opportunities, yet I was stuck without a car while opportunities were rising. What I've learned over the past years is that if you want something, you need to believe that you deserve it. And then work towards it. See setbacks as tests if you really want what you so desperately desire. Because if you really do, you will make it happen. Even if it takes an eternity. If you really want something, you'll make sacrifices. If not, you'll make excuses. If you want to manifest the life that you want, you need to play the long game and not go for short time results, as you will read in this edition of the Buccaneer's Herald.

The belief "I am..." Manifesting the future

When I started five years ago with The Recycled Pirate, I was filled with a drive and a huge bag of insecurity. I had dreamed that I was standing on a stage. Sharing my story. From wheelchair to... I wasn't sure about that exact outcome yet. I felt guilt and a lot of it. I had seen someone die in my arms. I had caused so much harm with a dumb decision and so many suffered because of it. Yet, there I was, still alive. Back on my feet, walking while they said I might not ever walk again. I managed to do what they said I couldn't do, and more. Accidentally, in the process, I brought hope to some that were in a just as hopeless situation as me and I saw their faces. The twinkle in their eyes. The little beliefs that they could do just more than what they expected. I saw the turn in some lives when they started working towards set goals instead of giving up because it was so hard. That's where I realized that we sometimes just need an example. A sparkle of hope, and maybe, sometime, to someone I could be that hope. I started small on a big stage at a local theater and couldn't believe the reactions I got and once I saw my smug face on the cover of a magazine a month later, the thought lit up. Maybe that hope was true? I learned how to listen better, and therefore to communicate better. I became a storyteller. My story and all the amazing stories of people that I met that beat adversity, setbacks or misfortune. My life got enriched even more by the people I got to work with by coaching them. By guiding them to believe more in themselves and with that, believe even more in me. As I'm manifesting the next phase of this adventure, I want to take you deeper with me. It's only in these past six months that I really understood the power of "I am" and what you can do with these words. I have manifested this future from a hospital bed, not fully believing that I would be here now, actually living the life I dreamed of.

I tell people many times, The Recycled Pirate isn't so much about recycling itself, but how we can recycle life. How we can be more aware of our thoughts. How we can empower ourselves with our own action. It's about adaptation, changing your habits. Choosing your future and leaving pain, doubt and the unknown behind. It's choosing for one thing that is guaranteed, growth. As long as you believe in you.

Curaรงao Medical Center A silence center for a more mindful recovery We, Curaรงao, have a new hospital and with that hospital comes new ways and new opportunities. The head of communications, Germaine Gibbs, launched a great project "Espasio di Trankilidat," a silence room for a mindful recovery. The room breathes calmness and is just what a modern hospital needs to give an alternative to the regular hospital experience. It's serene and feels like hope in what sometimes can feel like a hopeless place for patients. After a visit, it was clear to me that I needed to be involved and share my experience as an ex-patient, but also as a regular visitor of the hospital. Due to COVID-19 we couldn't do a planned session in the room designed for these activities, but the communication department of the hospital showed that they won't be easily stopped. The session went on as planned on Zoom and is now available on the hospital CMC TV YouTube channel. The session is in Papiamentu, and we talked about how to deal with a future with insecurities. Watch the replay, share with your friends and feel free to reach out if you need help to deal with your insecurities.

New merchandise Pirate Wisdom to drink from There are four enamel mugs available in the web shop, and they ship worldwide. The firsts have been delivered in the Netherlands (5), last week New York (2) and this week also one in California. This is amazing news of course and beyond expectations. I did not expect them to travel so far so quick but it shows how much you can do from an island after all. There is still the issue that international shipping to and from Curaรงao is not cost-efficient, so I really had to put on my Pirate hat to pull this one off, and therefore I can announce that the Stay Weird ! Enamel mug will soon be available at Mensing's Caminada, a local book and gift store in Curaรงao. Saving costs for the local collectors and hopefully helping to create many new smiles all around. Mensing's Caminada has become a real partner, carrying The Recycled Pirate Merchandise line with postcards, t-shirts and soon a real in-store display which is very exciting as you can imagine. Visit Mensing's Caminada Mon - Sat 9.00 - 6.00 Schottegatweg Oost. Or go to www.therecycledpirate.com/shop for international orders.
