Reaching out to you GO THE DISTANCE AND EXPAND.

Here is to partnerships CuraDAI Nos Medio Ambiente 2050

This is what I said to myself when I doubted what to do; go the distance and expand. I reached out on Facebook to my people "Should I print my own postcards?" Most reactions were positive and empowering. The first fifty postcards were gone in no time and the recipients were even more positive. Then I received a message from a lady on LinkedIn, she liked my products and if I was interested to meet her. You can see in the picture above that it went pretty well, and on the next page you can read more about her, but what it showed me is that although we might doubt ourselves, there is always one person that feels what we do. That one person was Maria Mensing in Curaรงao, Darren in Australia, Martin in Holland and Angela in the USA. Here is the 10th edition of The Buccaneer's Herald and do I have excited news for you...

Here is to partnerships From a childhood hide out to my best selling store I mentioned Mensing's Caminada several times in this Herald, yet I haven't shared the face that goes with it. This month she is front page material, rocking her Stay Weird! Fair Trade Organic Cotton T. Let me introduce to you Maria Fernanda Mensing Rosales. Not only am I proud to have her wear the t-shirt, but to have The Recycled Pirate's Merchandise products in her store is sort of a childhood dream come true and this partnership feels a bit like piracy. As a young kid, Mensing's Caminada is where I bought my school supplies and comic books. This is the book store where my mother brought me when I deserved a gift, and it was this store where my mother bought me a book about two boys being stranded on an island and joining the Buccaneers to survive. It was this book that planted a seed that until this day is growing and why to this day I consider myself a Pirate. A new seed was planted shortly before this pandemic broke out when Maria offered my postcards at the cash register. After the lockdown she displayed the t-shirts front and center and the store sold them in record time. The proof that even during a pandemic time doesn't stand still, is the brand new in-store display with ethical merchandise. The Herbology Beard Oil and After Shave Face Toner are on the top shelf followed by the new, yet vintage, enamel mugs. Underneath the mugs are three shelves with the organic cotton T's and more are on the way to the store, but that's a story for another time. But you read it here first! This edition is more about partnerships and solidifying The Recycled Pirate as a brand. As you are reading this, the business is being registered in the Netherlands, so we can invest in Amsterdam as a market. With another Dutch party I'm looking into organizing future retreats and classes in person and online and for the future also on the island. If you are going the distance, you better go all the way, right? With the web shop ready, the first 20 sales have been shipped to the USA, the Netherlands, Germany, Aruba and Australia. I feel empowered that this is a unique opportunity. An opportunity that I should take full hearted. A store like Mensing's Caminada offers The Recycled Pirate a solid base on Curaรงao to sell the merchandise. Maria and her team have shown they believe in the merchandise and with the web store picking up, I can really start promoting the coaching programs. This is the beginning of the "WHY", why it's so valuable to have well thought through merchandise to support my business. I won't spill all my beans just yet, but as you have learned to expect from, there is more to come... For now, I would like to extend a massive token of appreciation for the trust these partners have put in me.

CuraDAI A digital coin for the Curaรงao community You might have seen this logo to the left before, and maybe you even heard about it on the street, it is called CuraDAI and it's a cryptocurrency (digital coin) created especially for Curaรงao. I am fairly new to digital money and when I received my first itsy bitsy amount in April of this year to sponsor fifty postcards, thanks to CuraDAO, I had no clue what to do with it or how it worked. Now eight months later you can pay with cryptocurrency, CuraDAI, in The Recycled Pirate web shop. Soon they'll be expanding to more shops, so keep reading. Before I make this way too complicated, this is your chance to earn some digital cash. As the momentum is growing and more stores and traders are joining, this is your chance to be an early adopter. Go to @Curadai on Instagram to read the full post, where they explain how you can install a digital wallet and profit from the benefits. You'll even get some CuraDAI in return. What can you lose? As I explained earlier, eight months ago cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum were abracadabra to me and nothing more than another headline in my daily news intake. With the help of local cryptogurus, CuraDAI and other currencies are moving on to the local market.

Doing the work A more sustainable future is the end goal My work is not just the work for my lifetime, but for the longevity of multiple lifetimes that will come after me. There is a lot of work to be done if we want to leave a better planet for our children. That's the simple truth. But, what I, we, do now sets the tone for that future. With that in mind I participated in the Nos Medio Ambiente 2050 (Our environment 2050) program to help brainstorm and support the framework for a new environmental law. Due to COVID-19 the meetings had been rescheduled and moved to Zoom, but in the first week of November a group of about 20 stakeholders could finally come together, learn and discuss the importance of the new law. Together we can do the work for the future. Considering that the government department took the time and effort to listen to young professionals, small business owners, big corporations and concerned citizens is a trend for the future. Let's hope that other departments like the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Parliament takes these efforts to heart and mind. For the sake of the future, I signed.
