Reaching out to you LIVING THROUGH A PANDEMIC.

The Challenge Life Awareness

Is it just me or do you sometimes forget as well that these are extraordinary times? I feel such a drive to accomplish my goals that I need to remind myself that it's OK to leave my work for one day. Or that one thing that I dreaded for so long,? It' s ok to dread it a little bit longer. That being said, the list of the things I want to achieve, the people I want to educate and the sense of accomplishment that drives me is beyond myself at times. During this pandemic, I managed to get a new website with a web shop, find a new challenge with innovation ร , get published in the Curaรงao Business Magazine, MC the Curaรงao Innovation and Technology Institute Innovathon and spend more hours on the phone then all my previous years together and build a network of inspiring people. Some of whom even became my coaching clients. Others I was able to facilitate a new challenge for them. Living through a pandemic is way different from what I imagined and a lot more challenging than I let myself believe. But what do I know about pandemics, right?

The Challenge "It doesn't matter how slow you go, as long as you don't stop." Last month I wrote about the photo challenge, almost ignoring my own challenge. At the beginning of the lock down things looked a lot different than now. I used to work in my workshop 6 days a week creating recycled craft and now I'm far more focused on coaching my clients, ordering my products and selling them in stores or on www.therecycledpirate.com. My friend Alex asked me, "So while the whole world was slowing down, you were speeding up?" And that's when it hit me how much of a career swing this has been. I have been coaching people for over five years but never did I really believe it would become my career. It was the side hustle that I dreamed to do full time. Last year when I realized how badly I wanted that, I came with the idea of merchandise. In case I would have less coaching clients, I might have more sales, I figured. And better yet, once my clients leave my sight, their sight doesn't leave our conversation because it's right in front of them. They might even drink from it. If it wasn't for my friends and the heartfelt messages I don't know if I would have achieved this much in such a short time. Having Innovation Ç as a challenge to keep the faith up was definitely a live saver, but it took a month and a half working on the website content, coaching programs and setting up merchandise logistics for me to realize how hard I was pushing myself during such a trying time. I'm far from "there" yet, where ever that may be, but as the quote in the picture below says in Papiamentu: "It doesn't matter how slow you go, as long as you don't stop." So I slowed down for a while to let everything sync and prepare on the next round. Things will be slightly different now as I am reorganizing how to continue to 2021 and beyond for I have plans. Big plans! I want to thank every single conversation partner, coach, Patron and private backer for your support. Your kind words, time and patience has helped me through a period of more changes than I would like to have handled, to make it a period of many more changes in the benefit of the many lives I was able to touch. You have not gone unnoticed by me! And with your help, we will continue bringing light to many more people.

Life Awareness & Innovations The truth behind my Pirate Wisdom Life Awareness is my form of Mindfulness. It is how I believe I want to live my best life. Being aware of my choices and being OK with not knowing everything nor try to be perfect. Innovations stand for renewing myself, what I do and how I do it. The same goes for the Recycled in The Recycled Pirate, I want to recycle lives. I want to elevate people's standards so they will recycle themselves. Not choosing the quick and cheap solution, but for go something that will last emotionally, physically or financially. It's all our life, it's holistic. How we treat ourselves is a reflection to the world. That's why the world is covered in plastic and obesities. I understood the emotional weight we as humans carry around at a certain point in my life that I made it my mission to make the best of it for you and me. I can't escape being an example, nor can you, so let us be good examples. Let's admit we do wrong. Let's choose to do right. And we do that in how we communicate, including with ourselves. If you're familiar with my quotes, you might understand it already. I noticed however, that it's still not obvious and going with "Recycled" in my name didn't make it any easier. For the people that know me, know I like a good challenge so here we are with this newsletter, a website and a web shop, daily inspirational quotes that I consider free social coaching and now a merchandise line with said quotes. That line is for me the innovation in this project. I don't choose products for their profit, but for their store and story value. For their quality of life. For their effectiveness for the collector. And... Yes, there is an and, for their extension to my coaching practice, be it the quotes, be it the product, or be it the scent, for example with the beard oil or face toner. It is all to elevate life's values and the user experience and therefor enhancing their lives. Quality over quantity. It fills me with joy when I arrive at a client and I see my postcard hanging on the fridge and to hear what it reminds them of. Or when I see a client on a picture on Facebook wearing their Stay Weird! fair trade organic t-shirt which is empowering them to embrace their weird. Coaching is more than a sit down session. It's more than what we discuss during my courses. It's setting an example, living by it and encouraging others to find their sweet spot in life. And when it gets bitter or sour, we innovate, we adapt we change. Just like the Pirates used to do.
