Reaching out to you SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS IS A LIE

You can make a difference Private investors

That's a statement to remember right? As a social entrepreneur I consider it my calling to educate and shape how we can think. I also spend a lot of time understanding why we think what we think. My German executive coach asked me "how do you explain the sustainability of flying your products around the world?" And for a second he got me thinking for me to answer "what is the alternative?" No matter what I do, as long as I live I will need to transport myself and whatever I do. I might as well make my money with it and educate my customers and suppliers while I'm at it to do it in an as sustainable possible way." We are not living of the "lands" anymore. We create opportunities to make money, so we can buy the food and services that we need. I can't change that I have a footprint. I can change the marks that the footprint leaves behind and that's where the sustainability is for me. As a consumer I can demand sustainable change. And as a business owner I can influence it.

You can make a difference And so can I During my first ever vacation by my own choice I had the time to reflect on the past seven years. As you all know, it was quite the journey picking my life up after an accident that should have left me traumatized. I found the real meaning of my life and I found the strength to inspire other lives. Seven years later I found myself sitting at a swimming pool in Santa Cruz with a mother of 36 and her 6-year-old girl reflecting on my reintroduction into society. I had spoken at so many schools and organizations about my journey from "Wheelchair to Social Entrepreneur," and afterwards they all said the same "you should do more with what you have to offer." But why should anyone listen to me? Because I have something to say and not afraid of saying it. Because I can stand up for people that have no voice. Because the alternative, silence, is no longer an option. I will no longer be judged by other people's values. So after my vacation I set out on a new journey that has led me to you, here. Please read with me as I take you on a tour to my vision of the future. A future of creating a message. A message that shaped the past seven years.

I have many crushes. Man. Woman. Professionals or friends. But always because they're HUMAN.

The Recycled Pirate

I have crushes because of someone's kindness. Sometimes because of the amazing job they do and the love they do it with. It can be for the responsibility they carry, or the lack of it while they ruthlessly live life. Sometimes it's a male. Sometimes it's a female. But it's always because they're human. I have crushes because they are human and they show up for what they stand for.

Private Backers & Patreon Together we are stronger As a public speaker and personal development coach I noticed how fast we fall back into old habits. After a call from a client that was having a panic attack at work after one of the best sessions we ever had, I knew I had to come up with something. For our next session I wrote her a little note that she carries with her to this day. The intention stayed with me but I didn't know yet what it would inspire. I'm a storyteller that likes sharing messages. As I already had my face on the Herbology Beard Oil and soon also my name on their Aftershave Face Toner, why not expand the line into a real physical brand? Why not make The Recycled Pirate a real brand with a strong message? With a willing partner like Herbology it should set us apart as a conscious brand for the future. The products need to be a message on itself and carry a message within the message. All products are either made of recycled material or can be reused or recycled in the future. Long story short, we developed a Curaçao post stamp with the help of Cpost and sold over 500 cards in six months. That's a message worth spreading, right? With Covid-19 everything came to a standstill and the products remained waiting for their new homes. The ideas kept coming and so was the support with the help of our Patreons and CuraDAO we sent out over 400 postcards! Which led to a more intensive cooperation with Innovation Ç. Which led us to Active Chance, a Canadian organization who empowers social entrepreneurship and thanks to whom we are building a new website and are investing in better sound equipment for more podcasts and more creative digital content. The choice to lead by example is the best education we can give the world and the only way to do that is by participating. Participating is free, of course, but you can also choose to do that more actively by joining our Patreon or our Private Backers list, where you can choose which opportunity fits best to the example you would like to invest in. Join us now and help us make a difference.
