Reaching out to you BUT PLEASE KEEP A PHYSICAL DISTANCE.
Time to be creative Private investors
Well, that was a fastball we didn't expect right? How are the huggers between us doing? Not so easy to not touch and keep physical distance, right? I'm not a fan of the "social distance" term as you can read. I believe the reason behind it is totally logical and I believe it's in our best interest but "physical distance" would be a term that would suit better. This is not the time to socially distancing ourselves. The opposite is happening and I am impressed with all that is going on. Low wage workers are becoming the heroes. Neighborhoods are doing groceries for each other. And businesses are understanding that there is more in life than just making a profit. The profits we are making are going to change many lives for a long while. How difficult these times might be, and they are far from over, the rebuild is going to bring back the feeling of community building and many will reconnect more socially. Covid-19 is making us revalue our freedom and lives and that is at least something to cheer on.

APRIL 2020 | VOL. 3
This is the time to be creative. Creativity is a superpower. First I was in disbelieve. Then I got confused. I felt anger. Grief. Despair. More confusion. I quickly realized that I was not the only one having this rollercoaster ride of emotions. And then we were locked in. For me there was only one way out, through my creativity. Through my innate believe that what doesn't kill you, makes you more creative. As someone that is constantly looking for ways to communicate and educate, this was a weird blessing in disguise. But how? I had a newsletter ready for this month, but that didn't seem to fit. I had postcards on the way, but those are collecting dust under my bed. I had t-shirts on the way from India, but they are stuck in the harbor at least till may. These are not just products. This is my income. My livelihood. So when Luuk Weber contacted me "He Andy, I'm organizing a webinar, would you like to do a presentation about mental health?" I instantly felt "here is my opportunity to make the best out of this!" I had written "The Guidelines of Self Mastery" just the week before and it was exactly what many needed to read or hear, and I needed Luuk's platform to challenge me to grow and innovate.
Weird times can bring innovative solutions. Just because we are not allowed to move freely, doesn't mean we need to stop thinking freely.
We have limited space to move, but unlimited space to think.
The Recycled Pirate
This is the moment to think. This is the moment to write. This is the moment to plan. This is the moment to dream. This is the moment to visualize. This is the moment to let your creative mind roam freely! Picking up the pieces is hard when life seems filled with uncertainty, but the simplest solution is to focus on what you can do now and then program yourself for the future. If you can do it now. You can do it always!.

Innovation Ç Remotely working together and thriving. How do you innovate when your movement is limited? It seemed an issue for many, but for me it has been my reality. Not being able to go out when I need because my body doesn't allow it, prepared me for this quarantine. That wasn't such a drastic switch as for many. When Luuk Weber offered me an online stage, the decision was easily made. This is was an opportunity to share how you can mentally prepare yourself. Your resilience starts in you mind and can become a creative intend. Luuk is also from Curaçao, he's passionate about creating social impact and sustainable development. He is one of the innovative brains behind CuraDAO and the Caribbean Blockchain Network. Meanwhile he also runs his own boutique consultancy company Floresé, from Hilversum, the Netherlands. He is a remote worker by trade and working on many innovative projects. Luuk has created a framework where innovators, thinkers or doers, can benefit from a platform like Innovation Ç. With organizing Digital Conferences the platform reaches a worldwide community of changemakers. From Curaçao to the world and the other way around you could say. Just what we need in a time of physical distance. The decision to join forces with him and expand Innovation Ç's services has given me an unique look what is going on in the techworld of Curaçao. From cryptocurrency to blockchain networks to investors who see a lot of potential in times that we, regular people, feel we are estranged. After a 3 year hiatus Luuk revamped conference platform as a Webinar, to quickly transform it into a biweekly DIgital Conference. From there it went fast, I had my first encounter with a cryptocurrency account and have a joined project that is made for the future and where we can be of valuable together and to each other. From a physical distance yet socially connected.
If you join Innovation Ç, just like me, you will be surprised by the amount of talent and innovative ideas our island children have. Their Caribbean passion is not only showing off their talent, but there is a drive to survive and to ultimately thrive. Therefore I made my experience available and became a co-host for the Innovation Ç Digital Conferences which are powered by CuraDAO that in return will send forty The Recycled Pirate recycled paper postcards to forty people who mean something to our community, as a personal thank you note. From a digital community, in this time of reshuffling the old, that is a bridge we can cross together. Can you see that chain working?
