The Ultra Lightweight Gilet is a highly technical outer layer that has been constructed with the smallest details carefully considered to cut it down to just 90g without affecting functionality. This waterproof gilet is suitable for cooler days through to milder days and for light to moderate rainy runs, it uses Soars unique Rainout fabric. This material combines weatherproofing with comfort, it is made from stretch-woven Italian fabric with DWR on both the yarn and the finished fabric, this means you are protected from water without the need of a secondary membrane and saving weight and keeping things breathable. The fabric is cut into a form fitting profile with cut out rounded neck that sits lower than your base layer, enhancing the ventilation and preventing rubbing on the skin. The waist has a bonded seam, it is flat and ridged at the front and elasticated at the back, this allows it to move with the body but without riding up as your legs rise at the front. The arm holes also offer a good amount of stretch to provide plenty of room for vigorous movements from sprinting arms to jumping jacks on the warmup, high-stretch nylon back panel is feather light and soft to the touch. The front, shoulder and side panels have a thicker finish to better protect the core from the wind and rain, the whole thing is so flexible it can be folded down into a compact package and tucked into your waistband out of the way until you need it. Around the back is a generously sized zip pocket, this can be used to store the largest of mobile phones, and other mid-run essentials like gels and keys, the contents sit close to the skin just above the tail bone, so they don’t bounce around or cause friction.
