had all these magnificent ideas before sitting down to write this issue’s note and then, as is so often the case, came that Facebook distraction that changed the course of all previously planned profundities.
I just watched a heartwarming video in which random adults were asked who they would dine with if they could choose anyone at all. They, naturally, blurted out a list of celebrities and socially impactful heroes, believing that the likes of these individuals would provide priceless stimulation and perhaps even help to fill some sort of emotional void. Much to the surprise of these adults, their respective children were also invited to the studio that day and the very same question was posed. Although the answers immediately spilling into the

You guessed it; the kids wanted to dine with their moms and dads and often their entire extended families. These were the real heroes in their lives, worthy of benefiting from the most precious commodity we humans possess – our time! As expats we can identify with the pain of having to say good-bye to the many friends that come and go. And as sad as these separations can be, they provide us with an important reminder of that which is closer than any other bond and all too often taken for granted – our families. Everything in life is rented my dear friends and just as we enter this world naked and innocent, we should also be aware that this exactly the way we will depart. Few things if any, during the course of our lives are permanent and as situations and acquaintances parade past us, we can remain grateful for the blessings of family; love and honour your family, for they are the “rocks” of our existence.
WIN! WIN!! WIN!!! Keeping in line with the fabulously delicious street food festival that spiced up Jahili Park last week end, we thought we would ask our friends at the Rotana Al Ain and the Mercure Grand to keep the gravy train rolling. In this issue be in with a chance to win a dinner for two at both of these iconic Al Ain Hotels. To win the Mercure Grand prize, simply tell us the height of Jebel Hafeet and to dine at
the Rotana Al Ain, tell us the name of the executive chef responsible for the fabulous cuisine in its selection of amazing outlets. Kindly share your name, location and contact number and email your answers to competition@thesourceuae.com with the subject line Rotana Al Ain or Mercure Grand.

Wacky World This South Korean Woman Is Raising 200 Dogs She Rescued From Being Killed 61-year-old Jung Myoung Sook from South Korea has been saving dogs for the last 26 years. So far, she has rescued over 200 pups and takes care of them all. Sook is not welloff, but she not only takes care of strays, she also buys illfated pups meant to be sold to restaurants. “My babies aren’t hungry,” Sook told the Associated Press. “They can play and live freely here. “Some people talk about me, saying, ‘Why is that beggar-like middle-aged woman smiling all the time,’ said Jung. “But I just focus on feeding my babies. I’m happy and healthy.” Sook gets help from people fascinated with her loving heart. However, she had to move 7 times due to neighbors’ complaints about noise. In South Korea, dogs are still killed for food. They are mostly eaten by the older generation. Only recently they have become more popular as pets.
Actor stabbed to death with sword
at Japanese play rehearsal
TOKYO: An actor was fatally stabbed with a real or mock samurai sword while rehearsing a play at a Tokyo studio, and police were investigating whether his death was criminal or accidental. Media reports indicated several actors were performing an action scene when the man was stabbed Monday, and no one saw what exactly happened. Japanese public broadcaster NHK reported that the other actors saw Daigo Kashino
hunched over, wounded in the abdomen, when they turned around after hearing him groan. Kashino, 33, was an actor with the theater group in downtown Tokyo. He was rushed to a hospital but died hours later, police said. Police didn't describe the sword or if it might have had safety features to prevent injury. Source: Gulf News
Graffiti, lack of public toilets a problem for Jebel Hafeet visitors
Residents recommend cleaning the Jebel Hafeet walls and installing new public restrooms Al Ain: The graffiti on the walls of Jebel Hafeet and the lack of public toilets are spoiling the image of Abu Dhabi’s highest peak and affecting visitor experience, residents said. Rising 1,240 metres, the popular mountain range in Al Ain has a viewing platform with a wall carved out of the mountain rock made of limestone that has been weathered over millions of years. The wall provides visitors protection from falling rocks, but not for rowdy residents or visitors who spray paint it with graffiti an act that is against the law. They risk life and limb to climb up the crevices of the wall as high as around three metres to scribble “The Real Gang Mak”, “S + M”, “LAAR” and other names, numbers and dates in different colours. Pakistani expatriate Gungo, who regularly visits Jebel Hafeet, said the graffiti should be removed. “My recommendation is to clean it as soon as possible because we are here to see Jebel Hafeet, not to see ‘This is rouhani, tiger, real gang...’ Everyone comes here to enjoy and relax, not to read what those vandals wrote there. This is not a publishing place,” Gungo, who drove all the way from Dubai, told Gulf News. Ayu Mungo, Gungo’s cousin, said the graffiti is not good for tourism... Source: Gulf News

Abu Dhabi suspends sales of hoverboards
Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC) has ordered a halt to the sale of the smart scooter “Hoverboard as a precautionary measure.
The move, which is being implemented in collaboration with the council’s strategic partners, is aimed at ensuring that these devices conform with the safety standards. The QCC examined some of these devices at purpose-built laboratories. In cooperation with the authorities concerned such as the Department of Economic Development, the council issued a circular preventing the sale of any electronic devices without obtaining its approval. It allows the sale of electronic devices after ensuring that they conform to safety standards and requirements. Currently, the council is conducting specialised studies and research in order to set the safety standards for electronic devices due to the lack of relevant legislation and controls. The council urged all users of electronic devices to exercise caution when using them, use reflective stickers on helmets, and reduce the speed of such devices when approaching interchanges in order to avoid collisions with vehicles. ENVIRONMENT
By AJ_Gray
In the UAE, the race is on to reduce economic dependency upon oil. Recognition has come that the desert nation possesses another resource in even greater abundance than the black stuff. My mum had itchy feet. The moment each seven-year stretch was up, we’d hobble off to pastures new. Her timing coincided neatly with Dad’s realisations of outdoor furniture and the maturation of his apple trees. Just as the fruit ripened, Mum would pull the plug. believe he enjoyed the suffering this entailed. Presumably, the new owners enjoyed the apples. For us boys, the trauma was less redeeming. A child torn from all they know will respond well enough given explanations of the upside and a long lead-in-and I should know, having inflicted it myself. But parenting in those days lacked a certain quality, something called compassion, considered desirable of late. Even so, each uprooting had its positives. One move befell us while I was transitioning in more ways than one, putting away childish things, exchanging the world of boys for the world of adolescents-a process which should be complete sometime before my eightieth.

I was clearing a closet when I came across an old pencil case, a sharp-edged wooden blockhouse of a thing. Inside was a forgotten toy, a ball of chewed gum and, low and behold, ten dollars I had long before stashed away for safekeeping. In all my endeavors, I have never been as wildly successful as I was in this. Hoooowee! It made me feel like a lottery winner, sparking dreams of a summer of snacksgreat bags of mixed sweets, baths of Smarties, swimming pools of fried chicken into which one might bellyflop. In those days, ten bucks meant potential unlimited. Last week I felt much the same when I came across a series of articles about renewable energy in the UAE. DEWA Delivers At first glance it appears counter-intuitive that the UAE would move to divest itself from fossil fuels in favor of renewable technologies, especially with oil at thirty dollars a barrel. But it’s happening. The motive is not so much the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, but the meeting of domestic energy demands which are swallowing a growing share of oil production. For the future of the UAE, it is better to export oil than burn it. But the country has to get its energy from somewhere. The question is, where?
The answer is outside Dubai. DEWA’s Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park is a landmark project for the nation. The first 13MW stage is doing well enough, but the second stage has the makings of something truly special, having ignited international discussion and excitement around the cost competitiveness of utilityscale solar. Initially, the winning bid of under six US cents per kilowatt hour met with skepticism. But since then the project has been fully financed, doubled in size to 200MW and the price (almost) repeated elsewhere in the Middle East and the US. The extraordinarily low cost has made competition extremely tough among tenders to build the final 800MW phase. Sometime between now and the achievement of Dubai’s long term renewable energy targets, coal will be left for dead. With the cost of panels falling ten percent per year since the 1980s and a whole host of governments including India, France and the US pushing a renewable agenda, it looks increasingly like the future is solar. In the UAE, where sun is plentiful, to say the least, it makes sense to let this inexhaustible resource work as hard for the nation’s goals as does oil.

FAMILY
FAMILY
YOUR IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOU THINK From the moment we’re born to the time we bite the dust, the people who surround us are most probably related to us. There are very few others in the world that could give us the same love and concern our families do. In this modern day and age where people are driven by money and material possessions, we sometimes fail to realize the importance of our families. Your parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and whoever else you might consider family are all important persons that you should never fail to appreciate. While the familiarity might have you feeling complacent, there are a bunch of reasons why you should consider giving these important people a well-deserved hug, quality time, and affection.
1
Family Time can Affect Academic Performance – Studies have shown that children who are supported at home are more likely to thrive in school. Children with parents who constantly talk to them and show interest in their affairs are more likely to enjoy participating and performing in school.
14
The Source
2
The Quality of Interaction Between Members of the Family has an Impact on Overall Happiness – There’s just something about being around people who genuinely care for you that brings a sense of security and contentment. When you and your family spend quality time together, you are more likely to feel happy compared to just having them around without the interaction.
3
Your Family is Your Strongest Support System – There’s nothing that feels better than coming home from a tiring day at the office to be embraced by your spouse, your children, or your parents. But when members of the household are distant, you might find that the stress and pressure you feel at work or school doesn’t get resolved. By having people around you who care about you and encourage you to keep going, the burdens of responsibilities can be significantly reduced.
4
Family Relationships can Help Avoid Mental Health Problems – Many mental health conditions are theorized to be caused by poor family relationships. Sometimes, dysfunctional families can even hinder the recovery of those with medical conditions. A stable and supportive family can strengthen your mental status and even improve your body’s ability to cope with illness.
5
Family is a Source of Motivation – When everything seems wrong with the world, there’s only one place we run to. There really is no place like home, and when those trying times start throwing punches, you can find the strength to keep going when you bring yourself to realize that it’s all for your family.

Premier Motors Organizes Ford F-150 Ride & Drive Event About the Ford F-150 The F-150 is part of the Ford F-Series truck lineup, America’s best-selling truck for 37 consecutive years and America’s best-selling vehicle for 32 years.
Premier Motors, the authorized dealer for Ford vehicles in Abu Dhabi, organised a special Ride & Drive event for its F-150 customers. The afternoon event, which witnessed participation from more than 150 customers and their families, began from the Ford showroom. The event started with a briefing about the Ford F-150 and its various derivatives, especially the new F-150 powered by a 3.5 litre V6 EcoBoost engine, which generates more than 385 horse power. Other Ford commercial vehicles on display included the powerful ROUSH Raptor and the new Expedition Off-Road. Post the briefing, customers were organized into vehicles and began an exciting drive as part of a convoy towards Jebel Hafeet, where they were able to take pictures in the picturesque settings. They then set off on a drive to the One to One Hotel & Resort Ain Al Faida for a brief break after which they were able to experience driving the vehicles off-road and in desert terrain for more than an hour. The event concluded in the evening with a barbecue dinner and entertainment provided by a DJ.

The F-150 delivers an impressive combination of power, capability and efficiency – from advanced materials that improve durability and inhibit corrosion, to faster processors that enhance driving performance, to breakthrough cargo management and towing solutions. Both the exterior and interior design of Ford F-150 reflect decades of listening to customers and understanding their occupational and recreational needs. The exterior is characterized by a new shape that suggests capability, with a wider Built Ford Tough stance, prominent wheel arches and chiseled grille. Comfort, utility and refinement define the
truck’s interior. Ergonomically optimized seating for the front row positions enhances comfort, while extending legroom for rear passengers. Buttons and controls are optimized so they can be operated while wearing work gloves. A range of four engines provides more power to meet almost any customer need. The 2.7-litre EcoBoost with standard Auto Start-Stop and a 3.5-litre V6 engine with twin independent variable camshaft timing join the proven 3.5-litre EcoBoost and 5.0-litre Ti-VCT V8. The 2.7-litre EcoBoost engine features a lightweight, compact design to deliver the same power as some mid-range V8s. Auto Start-Stop technology helps save fuel. Unlike start-stop solutions in other vehicles, this technology – specially tuned for truck customers – shuts off the engine to save fuel when the vehicle is stopped, except when towing or in four-wheel drive. The engine restarts in milliseconds when the brake is released. Storage options include laptop stowage in the center console, as well as quick storage solutions for cellphones, drinks, pens and business cards.

N
eshan showed his support for UNHCR’s winter campaign in Lebanon #warmtheirhearts by visiting families living in the Bekaa Valley, where relentless weather conditions exacerbate their precarious living condition. Many of the families Neshan met, whether in camps or in informal settlements expressed great conviction that they would one day be able to return to Syria. Commenting on the difficulties faced by refugees and his hope to help them secure a better future, Neshan said “In a world where pain and evil are pervasive, we are all in need of a refuge of safety, affection and compassion. I have been moved by the stories I heard from the refugees, their strength and courage are truly inspiring. I hope my voice will make a difference in their lives” There are currently over one million Syrian refugees living in Lebanon, some of whom struggle to survive through winter in areas where subzero temperatures continue to show no signs of abating. UNHCR proactively provides support to the most vulnerable refugee families living in Lebanon, through multiple activities, the most notable of which is the #warmtheirhearts campaign. The digital fund-raising campaign aims to secure critical winter assistance that will protect 20,000 of the most vulnerable refugee and Lebanese families in the country from the harshness of winter. Recognizing the integral role of the campaign and the difficulties facing vulnerable families Neshan urged his followers on social media to visit the campaign’s page, lb.unhcr.org. “We are very happy to have Neshan Der Haroutiounian’s support for the Warm Their Hearts campaign Neshan’s voice will play a galvanizing role in raising awareness in the Arab world about the plight of refugees.” said Dr. Nabil Othman, Acting Regional Representative to the Gulf Cooperation Council States. “We welcome his involvement and urge other celebrities to follow-suit and help shed light on the needs of refugees at this critical time”, Dr. Othman added. Through the provision of winter kits, UNHCR hopes to protect vulnerable families from the severe weather conditions. The kits include blankets, warm clothes, stove heaters, gas and insulation kits. MERCEDES-BENZ G-CLASS
THE LEGEND LIVES ON
Mercedes-Benz's classic off-roader is beginning a new chapter of its success story which has spanned more than 35 years. With its continuously improved technology and highclass equipment specification, this cult all-terrain vehicle has consistently satisfied the highest expectations of off-road fans. •
The new 8-cylinder powerplant in the G 500 references an exclusive heritage, based on the new generation of V8 engines developed by Mercedes-AMG.
•
The new models retain the familiar sturdy basis of body and ladder-type frame, which still offers generous reserves to cope with the increased power.
•
Visually, the new G 500 models are especially easy to identify by their restyled bumpers and now standard flared wheel arches in the vehicle colour.
•

A new Colour package is available for customers wishing to give their AMG G-Class an even more personal look.
The G-Class models, G 500 and G 63, offer up to 16 percent more power with the added benefit of lower fuel consumption. The range includes the G 500 with a new, powerful 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine. A new suspension setup, together with more sensitive ESP® control results in increased driving stability, safety and road comfort. The exterior and interior have also been given an upgrade. At the same time, an exclusive AMG special edition will be available. The new 8-cylinder powerplant in the G 500 can point to an exclusive heritage. It is based on the new generation of Mercedes-AMG V8 engines that have already coaxed exceptional levels of performance out of the Mercedes-AMG GT and Mercedes-AMG C 63. For use in the G-Class, the V8
has been modified to deliver 310 kW (422 hp) with torque of 610 Nm. Other standout attributes include a spontaneous response and high tractive power which are made possible, for example, by two turbochargers, which instead of being configured on the outside of the cylinder banks are arranged between them in the V – the so-called "hot inside V". This layout allows a compact design, optimal response and low exhaust emissions. High efficiency is ensured by Mercedes Benz's use of piezo direct petrol injection with spray-guided combustion. Maximum strength with lowest possible weight is guaranteed by the aluminium crankcase of the V8 engine. The cylinder bore surfaces feature Daimler's NANOSLIDE® technology, which makes them twice as hard as conventional cast-iron linings. This minimises both internal friction and fuel demand. “The G-Class always wants to get ahead. With its peerless characteristics, proven technology, unsurpassed driving comfort and excellent functionality, the G-Class is a clear icon in the segment of true off-roaders. The new model will be highly welcomed by car enthusiasts in the Middle East as the G-Class offers them what they are always looking for - The best or nothing,” said Dirk Fetzer, Director of Sales & Marketing at Daimler Middle East & Levant. Both the G 500 and Mercedes-AMG G 63 are equipped as standard with an ECO start/stop function that reduces fuel consumption and emissions by switching off the engine when the vehicle is at rest, e.g. in a traffic jam or at traffic lights. As is typical of the G-Class, the new models retain the familiar sturdy basis of body and ladder-type frame, which still offers generous reserves to cope with the increased power. Also retained is the unrivalled off-road performance with permanent all-wheel drive, low-range gearbox and three differential locks that can be engaged/disengaged while on the move. The standard suspension setup has been revised with optimised shock absorbers for improved control of body movements and even greater on-road ride comfort. An adapted ESP® setup makes for enhanced driving dynamics together with increased driving stability and road safety. Optimisations to ASR and ABS result in improved traction while shortening the stopping distance when braking. In addition, the G 500 is optionally available with a new adaptive damping system with Sport and Comfort modes. This provides a significantly more agile on-road performance in Sport mode with undiminished off-road capability while at the same time reducing the typical SUV roll on corners. Enhanced inside and out Visually, the new G 500 models are especially easy to identify by their restyled bumpers and now standard AMG flared wheel arches in the colour of the vehicle. On the inside, the G 500 feature an eye-catching instrument cluster in two-tube look with 11.4 cm multifunction display and redesigned pointers and dials. The two AMG models also sport a redesigned instrument cluster. New choice of colours A new Colour package is available for customers wishing to give their AMG G-Class an even more personal look. There are exclusive exterior paint finishes in solar beam, tomato red, alien green, sunset beam and galactic beam. Detachable parts such as mirrors, front and rear bumpers, wheel arch extensions, the ring around the spare wheel cover as well as the roof are painted in obsidian black. The interior topstitching is colour-matched to the paintwork. The Models At A Glance Model

WANT TO CHANGE YOUR CAREERS
BUT DON'T KNOW HOW? Are you no longer excited to wake up every morning to go to work? Are your energy levels low? Are you no longer proud of your work and feeling unappreciated? Are you merely chasing a pay cheque and enduring the unbearable hours of each working day? In your heart, you know enough is enough and if you could, you would resign in a heartbeat – sound familiar? Then it certainly is time for a Career Change! If you are experiencing these things you are not alone and most important of all, it's never too late to make a new beginning. Here are a few suggestions that will help you achieve your dream career.
1
Take Some Time to Understand Yourself
This may require some self-reflection. Recognize the talents, and skills you already possess. Identify what your interests are and also note what discourages/ demotivates you. Think ahead; what do you see yourself doing in 10 – 15 years? When you look back, what would you want to have achieved in your future?
2
Prepare for the Career Change
Start planning! If your dreams need money then you should start saving up now. Learn how to manage your time, and try to squeeze out a few free hours each day to help you prepare for the upcoming career.
3
Think of occupations that Energise in You
For example, if you are interested in photography, then you could work as a photographer for wedding planners, in a studio, at a university or even for newspapers and magazines. If you love to write, you could think about writing research papers, blogs, news articles etc. If your passion is more related to computers, then you could pursue a career in software engineering, computer programming, network engineering, web development, hardware engineering etc. The sky is your limit; think of every possibility in the field that you would like to be in.
4
Get More Certifications; Enhance your Knowledge and Skills
Now begin improving yourself by either taking short professional development courses or completing a new diploma/degree. When selecting an institute or a university to do so, check if they have part-time job opportunities available for their students. You may even benefit from the free online courses available.

5
Volunteer for Experience and Community Service
Volunteering in an organization that provides relevant experience to prepare you for your dream job can be extremely beneficial. It can prove to be a self-fulfilling experience, offering essential networking with co-workers that may lead to future opportunities.
6
Find Mentors and Network
An often unique benefit that can only be gained from a good mentor is a combination of detailed industry knowledge and personal introductions to the mentor's contacts, which have often taken the mentor many years to establish, and which might not otherwise be readily available to you. Congratulations; you should now be prepared to start your job search and apply!
STUFF FOR MEN
I WANT TO RIDE
MY BICYCLE
For those of you who have never been to Liwa, Tel Moreeb and the Empty Quarter, or perhaps haven’t even heard of them, let me give you one piece of advice: do not, under any circumstances, agree to do a bike ride near them, unless you are fully prepared. Every year, a group of lyra-clad (or whatever insanely futuristic and expensive material is now available from NASA) lunatics gather at the dune to ride 100km – simply for fun. Yes, they actually do. And I think they might be on to something.
T
he Moreeb dune is, quite simply, awesome – and not in the new sense of the word. Located in the Empty Quarter (the name tells you everything you need to know) people come from far and wide to try and conquer it by any means necessary. Describing an arrival to Tel Moreeb is probably more like describing the latest video footage beamed back from the surface of Mars than anything that most of us have encountered on planet Earth. This is where the tourists really should come to experience the ‘real UAE’ that you may hear talk of. It’s no surprise that the scenes of the desert planet Jakku in the new Star Wars were filmed here. Absolutely, it’s a beautiful place. However, when you try and ride a bike over the surrounding forty degree incline terrain, all of that kind of goes out of the window, and you just have to concentrate on not vomiting, or developing an instant case of haemorrhoids. Obviously, those who are insane enough to ride around on racing bikes at break-neck speed in sweltering heat Oliver Bromley-Hall, along with wife, Lisa and son, Henry join the Al Ain community from Retford, North Nottinghamshire, via the beautiful (hu-hum) town of Doncaster.
26
The Source
find this fun and do it all the time. And, once it’s finished, I’m inclined to agree that it’s a real sense of achievement. Let Me Rewind A Little. Normally, I’m a person who does the due diligence, researches things in a fair amount of detail before committing. Unfortunately, when my friend sent me a text message asking if I wanted to ‘go on a bike ride’ I, perhaps rather stupidly, agreed straight away. Of course I pictured a gentle ride around some of the outer roads of Al Ain, maybe a few nice sites and a sun set. As the weekend bike ride came ever closer, a new text message with an extra piece of information would arrive each night: ‘Oh, by the way, it’s in Liwa’; ‘It’s over the biggest sand dune in the world’; ‘And it’s 100km’. I Started To Worry. The fateful day arrived and, if you’ve been on the E11 road that connects Abu Dhabi to Liwa, you know that at every moment when you’re on it you’re probably as close to death as you ever want to be. When it’s pitch black, you haven’t got your glasses, cars are racing behind you at 200kph and all you can see are lights that resemble scenes from ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind’ you might get a slight pang of nerves. When you arrive in Liwa, some four hours after leaving Al Ain, only to be told that Tel Moreeb and the campsite you’re staying at is another one and a half hours away, you feel glad that all of the training the other guys put in is really going to pay off. Unfortunately for me, I hadn’t been on any kind of bike since I was about fifteen – I’m thirty five! I’m happy to say that after a fabulous two, maybe three hours sleep, housed next to what might have been the loudest insomniac group of teenagers in the world, I awoke to the prospect of no breakfast – it had been promised to all riders, but went the way of the unicorn. Luckily, all of the other insane entrants were equipped with thousands of dirhams worth of gear and calf muscles the size of most people’s thighs. My own, alas, are more sparrow than hawk. In all seriousness, though, if you like adventure and a sense of accomplishment, you wouldn’t go far wrong doing the Liwa 100. But a word of advice: PADDING! And make sure you put the miles in beforehand.
Animation Team Stay tuned with our animation teams activities. We’ll be hosting stretching, aqua aerobics, volleyball and a lot more of fun.

Foodies rejoiced with the UK’s street food finest in Al Jahili Park, Al Ain last week end and can indulge again at Mushrif Central Park in Abu Dhabi this week end. From unique takes on traditional British crab burgers to Spanish churros, several outlets were top finalists in the 2015 British Street Food Awards. Crabbie Shack Styling his outfit on the traditional British crab shacks found along the harbour of his home town in Folkestone South East England, Douglas Robertson-Ritchie has won plenty of affection and accolades for his soft shell crab burgers; not to mention being a finalist in the British Street Food Awards 2015. Happy Maki Happy Maki is all about high quality, forward thinking, and healthy sushi with zero compromise on flavour. Their menu is also vegan and they take sourcing seriously. Find them rolling in glorious Gloria, their vintage Renault Estafette. Happy Maki is also a British Street Food Awards Finalist 2015 Bangwok Behind the wheel of a tuk tuk, armed with a wok, you’ll find Dong, a big personality cooking the perfect pad thai. Kanye West Mocks Himself On ‘SNL’ With New Song: ‘I Love You Like Kanye Loves Kanye’ In Case You Didn't Know, Jacob Tremblay Is The MVP Of Awards Season
Kanye West made his triumphant return to ‘SNL’ on Feb. 13 and as expected, it was far from boring. In addition to performing on stage, the rapper also faced off against Kyle Mooney in a hilarious freestyle battle where he actually dropped a new song that was about. After reigniting his feud with Taylor Swift, 25, and staging his long-awaited Yeezy Season 3 fashion show during New York Fashion
Week, Kanye West, 38, ended his headlinemaking week with an appearance on Saturday Night Live and as expected, it was a lot more than just your average two-song performance. Showing off his comedic chops in a hilarious skit with cast member Kyle Mooney, Kanye poked fun at his own ego for once by rapping about how much he really loves himself in a brand-spanking new song called “I Miss The Old Kanye.”
If you're not already following Jacob Tremblay on Instagram, we don't know how to help you. Not only did the 9-year-old actor deliver one of the most emotionally complex performances of the year in "Room," but he's also been documenting his wild ride through Hollywood with some of the best celebrity pics of awards season. What awaits you on the other side? Colin Farrell eating candy, Tremblay's two unreasonably hot parents, the most adorable mini tuxes you can imagine, a candid Jennifer Lawrence and more famous faces than even we can handle. Now, lets sit back and witness Hollywood through Tremblay's eyes.
Will Smith Talks About Jaden Wearing Women’s Clothing Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are all about encouraging their teenage children, Willow, 15, and Jaden, 17, to challenge the norms. Will opened up to BBC Radio 1Xtra about fostering individuality in their house, joking that they may have gone overboard.
“That may have been a mistake, we may have gone too far,” he said. When the host asked Will about people “making jokes about Jaden in women’s clothes” - the teen wore a skirt to prom and modeled womenswear for a recent Louis Vuitton ad campaign - he was unfazed, saying it’s all about thinking outside the box. "There’s a really powerful internal quality as an artist that as parents we encourage,” the “Suicide Squad” star said. “You gotta get out on the edge, you have to try things, you have to be comfortable doing things people don’t agree with and comfortable doing things that you can fail.” As for his son, Will said Jaden is, “100 percent fearless, he will do anything. As a parent, it’s scary, it’s really terrifying, but he is completely willing to live and die by his open artistic decisions and doesn’t concern himself with that people think.”

After months of testing, Instagram announced today that its latest update finally supports multiple accounts. Now, Instagram power users and brands will be able to link up to five accounts. Available in Instagram version 7.15 for both iOS and Android, users can link accounts through profile settings. From there, switching accounts is as easy as tapping the username and selecting the new alias. The app also comes with several new visual cues for users so they’ll never be confused as to which account they’re on.
Additionally, the app supports push notifications for all linked accounts, provided that they have them turned on. Users can also log out of select accounts, or log out of all accounts with a single action. Instagram is a bit late to the multiple account game, but it’s a welcome change for those who use it as a major communication tool to their audiences. The new features are available today in Instagram’s latest version, so update the app if you haven’t already.
SpaceX shoots for another sea landing February 24
It looks like SpaceX is gearing up for another round trip with its Falcon 9 rocket, as partner SES S.A. announced today the company would shuttle a new SES satellite and attempt a water landing on February 24. This is the fourth sea-based landing attempted by SpaceX, which hasn’t had any luck making it happen. Although the last trip, held in January, was largely successful for the commercial spaceflight company, high seas and other factors caused the rocket to come in a little too hard upon landing. As there is not enough fuel this time to get the rocket back to its original launch spot, the sea landing is the only option.
During the trip, the Falcon 9 will release the SES-9 satellite, which will provide for “both replacement and incremental capacity for a prime video neighbourhood over Asia which already serves over 22 million households with high quality broadcast solutions.” No time window has been set, and the company did name a backup date of February 25 in case weather or other indeterminate variables push back the launch. It’s also likely we will be seeing much more activity from SpaceX in 2016, as it continues to test the many pieces it needs to embark on larger, more complex missions. by Lauren Hockenson

GOLDEN RULES OF PLANNING A GROUP DESTINATION WEDDING Soft sand warms the soles of your feet and the smell of sweet flowers fill the air. The salty mist of the ocean kisses your cheeks while the laughter of friends and family brings joy to the heart. This isn't just an amazing vacation for your loved ones, it's your wedding day.

mages like this are inspiring more brides than ever before to forego traditional weddings made popular by their parents' generation in exchange for dreamy, relaxing destination celebrations. It's the ultimate way to customize a wedding, and often it's more affordable than going the traditional route.
"Once intimate affairs, destination weddings are no longer just for small groups," said Cheryl Cox of Grand Strand Bridal Association. "The most intriguing and prominent wedding trend of 2016 is couples expanding the guest list for their destination weddings to include people beyond immediate family." The reason this trend is growing so rapidly is that it provides guests more than just the opportunity to see a loved one tie the knot. It really gives them a minivacation that they'll never forget. It's a vacation with a purpose, and plenty of time for fun and activities are built into the experience. However, brides and grooms who want to embrace this growing trend have a few unique considerations. To ensure everyone has a great time, follow the five golden rules of planning a destination wedding for big groups: RULE 1: SELECT AN ACCESSIBLE LOCATION. You'll get more RSVPs if you select a destination that is easy and affordable for everyone to access. Consider air travel and drive times from guests' locations. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, is a great example that is a four to eight hour drive from many Midwest cities, plus has an international airport, with plenty of non-stop flights from major cities. Furthermore, a domestic locale like this means guests don't have to worry about passports and complicated travel logistics out of the country. Learn more at http://www. visitmyrtlebeach.com/. RULE 2: LOOK FOR MYRIAD OF LODGING OPTIONS. Getting a block of hotel rooms is a common practice, but go a step further to provide guests with a variety of lodging options so they can pick what best suits their tastes and budget. Traditional hotel rooms, B&B style accommodations at historic plantations and even vacation home rental options let guests choose what makes them most comfortable. Be sure to mention accommodation info on your wedding website and/or invitation. RULE 3: OPT FOR A CITY WITH VARIETY. Some people adore spending days on the beach or hours golfing while others crave visits to landmarks and amusement parks. Consider what a location has to offer beyond the ceremony. You're giving guests a reason to splurge on a mini-vacation, so places with several golf courses, plentiful shopping, miles of pristine coastline and lots of attractions for kids means there's something for everyone. RULE 4: BE INVOLVED BUT DON'T MICROMANAGE. Provide guests with important information about the location, such as popular attractions, transportation specifics and amenity details. It is custom for the couple to pay for one or more events in addition to the wedding celebration, so let guests know what you've planned. However, keep it to no more than one activity per day to allow time to explore as they please. RULE 5: MAKE GIFTS OPTIONAL. Guests spend more money to attend a destination wedding than a hometown affair. Be a gracious host and make gifts optional. By allowing their presence to be your wedding gift you're showing good etiquette and understanding. This thoughtful gesture opens more funds to enjoy their vacation to the fullest, which is what you wanted when selecting a group destination wedding in the first place. The Source
