The bow is a symbol of the stability we are responsible for providing as we strive to set them on a righteous path through life. We can best teach our children valuable and necessary life lessons through our own actions, and make no mistake, actions will always speak much louder than words! Living is a journey of choices and yes, action. We are all too familiar with the age old art of procrastination and the insane notion that somehow desired changes in our lives might miraculously occur by repeating over and over again, the same previously unsuccessful patterns. Life is too short for this type of behaviour! I fondly recall my father sharing words of wisdom with me as I lay welcoming a deep slumber after an eventful day of living. “Son”, he would say,” rest peacefully, but when you awaken, be grateful for a new day and another opportunity to accomplish the things in life that matter most, as we never know when that opportunity will be taken away from us.” These were extremely wise words that resonate in my soul, as I grow older and begin to appreciate how very short our time here really is.

MANAGING DIRECTOR Farid Nouisser
There are two things in life that are guaranteed occurrences for all of us without exception; being born and dying, and no matter how hard anyone tries, it is impossible to prepare for either one. They are both incidents of chance, if you will, and cannot be predicted. What we do have control over is everything in between. As parents we can all identify with the miracle of bringing a child into the world, and no matter what you are told, you can never quite appreciate the responsibilities that unfold until you are confronted with this precious life, and the reality rests innocently in your arms. They are yours forever, yet we are wise to understand that we cannot keep them in our protective custody indefinitely. Khalil Gibran said it best, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.”

UAE firm on Yemen mission, Emirati troops return to heroes’ welcome Troops will be in war-torn nation until legitimate government is restored, Mohammad says as first batch returns to heroes' welcome
Abu Dhabi: On the day the first batch of Emirati troops came back from Yemen to a grand welcome, the UAE said the armed forces will remain in the war-torn country till the legitimate government is restored. “I would like to say to the Yemeni people that we will stand by them to restore the legitimate government. As soon as the legitimate government is restored our troops will return to their barracks [in the UAE],” Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, told Abu Dhabi TV after a reception for the troops at the Sweihan military camp. After seven months of deployment in Yemen as part of Saudi-led operations - Decisive Storm and Restoring Hope - a 15-km-long army convoy made its way from Ghuwaifat to Sweihan where a welcome ceremony was held in the presence of Shaikh Mohammad and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown
Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. In a statement, Shaikh Mohammad said: “The honourable performance of our Armed Forces in the battlefield and their effective contribution towards the victories of the Arab coalition in Yemen are the best proof that our soldiers maintain high defence and combat readiness, which ensures that our country possesses a shield that protects its soil and a sword that guarantees its security and the safety of its people.” Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed said the participation of the UAE’s gallant Armed Forces in Yemen operation adds a new chapter to the nation’s glory, to the history of the UAE military, renowned for sacrifices and achievements and to the history of the country in support of the righteousness, a legacy of the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan... Dubai Airshow clinches new orders worth $30 billion The first major sale to trickle in on Monday was the $8 billion order for 75 Boeing 737 Max placed by India's Jet Airways.
The Dubai Air Show recorded new deals and aircraft orders totalling around $30 billion on the second day, ending a sales drought at the biennial event that took off to a subdued start on Sunday. The first major sale to trickle in on Monday was the $8 billion order for 75 Boeing 737 Max placed by India's Jet Airways - the biggest order for Boeing by an Indian carrier in years. It was followed by a $16 billion service contract signed by Emirates airline with GE's aviation unit for engines powering the airline's 777x fleet. Other air show deals include a $1.27 billion deal announced by the UAE Air Force for upgraded Saab surveillance systems aboard new Bombardier aircraft that the country has acquired. Saab said the deal is for a new version of its Erieye radar system for the Bombardier Global 6000 aircraft. Lockheed Martin announced it had been awarded a $262.8 million contract from the US Air Force to service Saudi Arabia's F-15 sniper targeting system and radars that allow for day and night low-level navigation.
Group had firmed up orders for 19 additional wide-body and single aisle aircraft - 2 A330200s, 2 A330-300s and 15 A320neos, while Lebanon confirmed the acquisition of six A-29 Super Tucano turboprop aircraft.
Canada's Bombardier confirmed at the show that it would be the launch customer of the CS300 with delivery of the first aircraft to start in the second half of 2016.
In a statement coinciding with the air show, Airbus said the agreement with IAG and its airlines took their cumulative Airbus orders to a total of nearly 470 aircraft. The two A330-200s will be assigned to Iberia and Aer Lingus will operate the two A330-300s. The 15 A320neos will be assigned within the group.

two Boeing 777 freighters valued at $637 million. Etihad also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Abu Dhabi investment and development firm Mubadala worth a potential $1 billion. The 10-year agreement covers a range of new contracts and would see Etihad appoint Mubadala's SR Technics as its preferred service provider In contrast, the previous edition of the show in 2013 witnessed brisk deals totalling $200 billion, including big-ticket purchases by Emirates, Etihad and Qatar Airways. issacjohn@khaleejtimes.com Source: Khaleej Times

Meeting Expectations In a best-forgotten epoch of life, I escorted a blond uptown for a highend version of a down-market dish, fish n’ chips. I had expected to pay but not to spend the rent. One dead sea-creature and chips stiffed me for seventy smackers. I don’t remember what she ordered, only that it stiffed me for significantly more, of course.
I confessed disappointment that the woman I’d thought of as my soul-mate, my wings on the flight to fame, fortune and … other things beginning with f … had wielded the ejector seat.
Up there among the bright and beautiful, spirits were soaring. This was the late nineties, and all about us the benefactors of Internet IPOs were celebrating with the abandon of those who believe they deserve it.
And so, just as fantasy met reality over one hundred and sixty dollars worth of deep fried fat, we encounter the theme of this article. Be wary of expectations.
Unfortunately, at our little airstrip the plane couldn’t get off the ground. Time and again the blond would angle her head and frown at my witticisms as if they did about as much for her as cancer. Then, suddenly, she burst into life. Had I somehow unknowingly done something right? No. I hadn’t. Who had was a table of chisel-jawed financial types with the glint of Audi keychains in their eyes. Clearly, the blond and the money-boys were buds, and she took off to reconnect. Laughter and joy erupted. By the time she returned, her chips had hardened. I signed the mortgage and we left. At my offer of a ride she claimed to need exercise. At my promise to call, her head exercised a refusal so brutal it sent me spiraling backward into the gutter. My shoes filled with stormwater, and the blond skipped off in the direction from which we’d come. Later, with my socks drying on the radiator, I poured my heart out to my best mate, a big-bearded sage known as ’Zin (short for Ama-zin’). As he emitted a sympathetic Om,

And that’s when he uttered the most profound question ever asked of me, anyone has. “JJ,” he said. “What did you expect?”
This December, heads of government meet in Paris to discuss action to tackle climate change. Previous attempts, Kyoto and Copenhagen, achieved not much. News in the run-up has been positive. The EU’s climate-change big-wig, Miguel Arias Cañete, is astonished at the positive progress. “There are many, many reasons to be cheerful,” he says. One hundred and forty-nine reasons, apparently. That’s how many countries have bought tickets to ride the “finally-do-something” balloon. Even the captains of carbon are jumping onboard. The Oil and Gas Climate Initiative represents ten of the world’s biggest oil companies. “Our shared ambition is for a 2C future,” the CEOs say. “Over the coming years we will collectively strengthen our actions and investments to contribute to reducing the greenhouse gas intensity of the global energy mix.” Patrick Pouyanne, of Total, says, “Sometimes in all these discussions you have the impression that all fossil fuels are the bad guys.” Sometimes, eh? In the year since the EPA proposed new regulations on emissions from power plants, the fossil fuel lobby in the US alone spent 502 million bucks fighting action on climate change. What impressions should we have from that? Leopards. Spots. Change. Don’t. The captains of carbon are serving us smiles while hijacking the plane. Paris looks like being a success, but if these people are involved it would be wise not to get our hopes up. Duplicitous. Behavior. Expectations. Meeting.
BATTLE OF THE SEXES WHO’S WINNING?
By: Amanda Killelea
urban woman
Men joke that women can’t parallel-park; women say men have all the emotional intelligence of a plank of wood... and so it goes on. But now scientists say these stereotypes are broadly true. Male and female brains ARE wired entirely differently, confirming what many people have suspected for years. But as we used to demand in the playground: who’s the best? Let’s look at the research behind the battle of the sexes to see who comes out on top... Intelligence Women now have higher IQs than men for the first time since records began – and new research has revealed that the two sexes’ brains are wired completely differently. Some researchers think the demands of juggling family life and building a career may have made women more intelligent. Others believe that women always had the potential for higher results but are only just realising it now. James Flynn, a world expert in IQ testing, said: “The complexity of the modern world is making our brains adapt and raising our IQ. "But women’s have risen faster.” WOMEN WIN! Driving Jokes about women drivers may have a grain of truth in them. Men pass their practical test after six months compared to an average of eight months for women and 48% of blokes pass first time, beating the 44% of women, Driving Standards Agency figures show. Self-confidence might play a part, as nearly four in 10 men already think they are better
14
The Source
drivers than women, while just 26% of women think their gender is the best. As for the parallel parking, studies show men’s brains are better than women’s at visualising 3D images. MEN WIN! Sleeping All new mums know men excel at sleeping – and they’ll never match them. The Great British Sleep Survey found women take longer to drop off and are disturbed more often by their children. Sleep doctor Michael J Breus says fluctuating hormones also disrupt their sleep. Other experts say they worry at night more than men. MEN WIN! Being Boss Employers take note. Having women in the boardroom is good for business. A study found women make better bosses because they are fairer, have better scruples and are more likely to make decisions that benefit everyone – from shareholders to staff. The research for the International Journal of Business Governance and Ethics also found that female-influenced companies are generally
more successful than those dominated by men. Girl Power! WOMEN WIN! Doctors Consider this next time you book an appointment. Canadian research published in October found women medics are more likely to order vital tests and prescribe the right drug. Six in 10 young hospital doctors and GPs are women and a study found they were more likely to comply with guidelines than men. WOMEN WIN! Multi-tasking Any woman who has juggled cooking the tea, ironing uniforms, helping with the kids’ homework, and paying the bills online while her other half does his bit by taking the bins out, will know this is true. Psychologists found men were slower and less organised when switching rapidly between tasks. In a report for a psychology journal, Glasgow University researchers found that although both sexes struggled to juggle priorities, men suffered more on average and were slower than women. WOMEN WIN!
GROWING A MUSTACHE FOR MOVEMBER? HOW THE MOVEMENT GREW FROM
T
30 TO MILLIONS
Doing something outrageous, new and fun while working towards a cause is Movember's ultimate goal. This non-profit organization in Australia grew from 30 to millions in a decade wherein they encourage men to join a 30 day challenge of growing their mustache to raise funds for cancer foundations. he success of the movement can be traced back to 2003 when Travis Garone and Luke Slattery were talking over beers. They discussed on how fashion trends were repeated every now and then. However, they noticed that growing a mustache among men disappeared.
The idea was to create a challenge to grow facial hair for one month. They were able to recruit 30 men who were willing to accept the challenge. In 2004, Adam Garone, Travis's brother, registered their movement as a foundation and established a website. "Trust me, when you're growing a mustache back in 2003 – and this was before the ironic hipster mustache movement – it created a lot of controversy. My boss wouldn't let me go and see clients, my girlfriend at the time, who is no longer my girlfriend, hated it. Parents would shuffle kids away from us," Adam Garone, CEO of Movember said. By 2004, they were able to raise $40,851 with 480 members (Mo Bros and Mo Sistas) from just 30 members the previous year. All their proceeds were donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia in their purpose to raise awareness for cancers affecting men and to help fund research on treatments to curb the disease. Three years after, men and women from other countries like Canada, New Zealand, Spain, United Kingdom

and the United States joined the foundation. By that time, they were officially launched in the United States and a Movement Board was established. In 2010, the foundation reached a milestone of having one million members since it was founded and raised a staggering $157,593,318 with a total of 352 men's health projects funded. Members grew to three million by 2012 raising almost half a million dollars. Their campaigns have reached other countries like Ireland, South Africa, Hong Kong, Singapore, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, France and Sweden. In 2014, the membership grew to 4 million and was ranked 72nd of the top 500 non-government organizations around the world. Movember 2015 has been officially launched this month and there are rules to follow when signing up for the event. Everyone should begin on Nov. 1 and for the entire month, participants should grow a mustache. The rule says only mustaches, no beards or goatees. Aside from that, they must act like a true country gentleman throughout the period. At the end of the month, everyone meets up and shaves their mustaches clean. With their vision, "To have an everlasting impact on the face of men's health," Movember aims to fund several projects dealing with men's health issues like prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health, and physical inactivity.

Sweet Nights at Brighton With
Front row, center stage and every nerve wound in anticipation of a show that was scheduled to take place a few months ago, had it not been for insurmountable hurdles, including replacing 50% of a cast that abandoned ship over the course of the unexpected summer hiatus. With a mere two months of preparation, a dedicated and inspired production team poured their hearts and souls into what would soon reduce a theater teeming with pride and joy into an applauding horde of star struck disciples! Thank goodness for dimmed house lights I thought, as rivers of emotion rushed over my cheeks.

city highlights “Overture, night of nights This is it, we'll hit the heights And oh what heights we'll hit On with the show this is it!” “The project was designed as an easy vehicle for the kids to learn about Musical Theatre and stagecraft, and above all, experience the thrill of being involved in a shared accomplishment that they would hold dear for years to come”, remarked the director, Mr. Simon Bridge at the end of an enormously successful two evening performance. The buzz from teachers, parents and students alike, was a testament to the arts programmes that are alive and well at Al Ain’s leading school. “The students were the obvious stars of the show, rendering incredible individual and collective performances. They worked so very hard sacrificing weekends and after school time for rehearsals that ultimately saw them achieving the most 'theatrical' of things - they just got on with it!”
The supporting crew of heroes included Mrs. Howarth, as Musical Director and Alexandra Sieffert, whose years of theatre experience in Chicago and beyond proved invaluable. The production was lucky to have Julie Wilson's eye for graphic design and arts, and Pamela Elam excelled as the 'go to girl', solving every problem encountered promptly with a smile! Mr. Welham, from the parent body, spent an entire day up a scaffolding tower basically dressing the entire set while Mrs. Awan created the costumes worn by Willy and his team of Oompa-Loompas. The support from staff at BCAA went leaps and bounds beyond expectation with the likes of Mrs. Bolger, Miss Mair and Miss Hurrell assuming the roles of on-stage shepherds (for the kids) and Mr. Cowie managing the Front of House Department alongside a further host of supporting teachers. Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory reminded me of my youth and as I watched my son, Joshua - who incidentally landed the role of Charlie - and his school mates mesmerize the audience, my heart sang along with every note in acknowledgement of the blessings associated with a rich learning environment and an institution that encourages and enables its assets to shine brighter than the stars! Brighton College, you rocked the show and can be sure that I will be waiting in anticipation for the next helping of theatre at its finest!

5 WAYS TO GIVE YOUR CHILDREN A VOICE Despite what the critics say -- that giving a child our undivided attention creates a child who thinks the world revolves around him or her -- I believe otherwise: Having a parent who listens creates a child who believes he or she has a voice that matters in this world.
1
Stop moving and stop doing when they speak to you.
By looking up from the task at hand and looking into your children's eyes, you are indicating that you value their thoughts, no matter how trivial. This provides both a foundation and an invitation for more difficult conversations as they grow.
4
2
Respect their words.
Maybe it takes time for them to put their thoughts into words. It's OK; you don't have to finish their sentences -- they will come. Maybe their opinion is completely nuts. It's OK; you don't have to agree. Maybe they remember something differently than you do. It's OK; you don't have to be "right." By giving them the time and space to share what's on their hearts, you are strengthening their voice.
Let them be the expert of something.
When my younger daughter was 4, I could not locate my car in a mall parking lot and feared it had been stolen. She quickly pointed out that we were not in the right section, and showed me the way. That night, I deemed her "The Parking Lot Expert" and she beamed. She is "The Name Expert" in our family, too, because she always remembers people's names. Children soar when their gifts are affirmed and acknowledged. By letting them lead, we give them confidence to voice their skills and wisdom.
5
3
Let them speak for themselves whenever possible.
When my children have something they want to tell the coach, the waiter, or the sales clerk, I first let them practice what they want to say -- and then they are encouraged to speak for themselves.
Pause before responding information is shared.
when
troubling
When children describe shocking information or confess to making a poor choice, take a pause and try this response: "Thank you for trusting me with this. You did the right thing by telling me." No matter how angry you are, or how much you want to scold them, it can take just one volatile outburst to shut down future communications with your child. Think about who you want them to confide in when they are scared, hurt, or worried. If you want it to be you, muster all the grace you have and speak calmly in troubling times.
As a parent, you know how difficult this job can be. You know there will be days when you are dealing with heavy life issues. You know there will be days when nothing goes right. You know there will be days when smiles don't come easily and harsh words are spoken too quickly. On those days, I urge you not to say "I am a failure" or "I am a bad parent." Instead, I urge you to garner the strength, patience, and resolve to do one thing: Listen!

NOVEMBER 9TH IS
WORLD ADOPTION DAY
At The Source we are inspired by and committed to remarkable people and organizations. We created our “Making a Difference forum to tell stories that highlight global initiatives, innovation, community development, and social impact. We invite our readers to take initiative and collectively or independently take action, no matter how big or small, with the goal of making a difference in our world today and for evermore! HANK FORTENER, FOUNDER OF ADOPT TOGETHER, ON WHY WE NEED #WORLDADOPTIONDAY
F
rom his earliest memory, Hank can remember always having room for one more person in his home.
His family fostered 36 children over the course of 7 years, with varying degrees of special needs. He grew up caring for kids, watching kids come to his home terrified and unwilling to speak, to blossoming and coming to life in their family. He had a front row seat at witnessing both the devastation children experienced without a consistency, as well as the healing power a family can provide. His family then decided to adopt-picking up on a story first written in his family in 1929. Charles Fortener Sr., Hank's grandfather, was adopted in 1929, in a time when adoption was not discussed publicly, and carried much stigma. His adoption was a secret to many, and shared openly only in his later years. Hank's family first adopted his sister, one of the little ones they fostered in their home. Then his sister from Bolivia. Then his brother from China.

After that, his brother through a domestic private local adoption in Ohio. Then came his brother from the Marshall Islands. Back to China for his sister. And then his youngest brother and sister from Guatemala. After adopting 8 kids, his parents were finished with adopting in their home, but not finished with helping make sure there was a family for every child. They privately helped others with the financial aspect of adoption, realizing they could not help as many other families as they wanted. After scouring resources to find a way to help adopting families with the financial burden of up to $50K for adoption expenses, Hank and his father foundedAdoptTogether.org Adopt Together is the world's first crowd funding platform for adoption. With the cost of adoption equaling the cost
making a difference
of a sports car or down payment on a home, many families can afford to raise a child but cannot afford the upfront costs associated with adoption. In its first 3 years, AdoptTogether.org has helped nearly 1500 families fundraise over $6M for their adoption expenses. With a desire to celebrate adoption and the families created, Hank and his team searched for World Adoption Day, to join in on the celebration and support. Discovering there was no international day of celebration, Hank launched World Adoption Day in 2014. Some co-founders of World Adoption Day include Jessica Stam, Scott Harrison, and Mike Tollin. In its inaugural year, over 250 ambassadors on 5 different continents hosted events to celebrate adoption and the families who brought them home. Hank believes family is everything. He is hoping to create more awareness for the 19 million orphans in the world, and help make sure there is a family for every child. Join Team C. and thousands of advocates today to help create a future with no more orphans. The Odd Thing About the
World's Deepest River Africa's Congo River claims many titles, including being home to the highest number of unique species in the world. The Congo River in Central Africa is one of the world's great rivers, carrying 1.25 million cubic feet of water - more than 13 Olympic-sized swimming pools - into the Atlantic Ocean every second. That's more flow than any other river in the world that's not the Amazon. But even more impressive is the canyon that the lower Congo cuts as it empties out to sea. It's the deepest river in the world. In fact, it's so deep that we don't really know how deep it is.

my world
my world
There are really two Congo Rivers.
Congo River facts:
The upper 2,500 miles of the Congo constitutes one of the world's laziest rivers, meandering gently through Central Africa without ever dropping more than a foot per mile. The flow is remarkably constant, because the river's vast length means that somewhere in the Congo basin is having its rainy season yearround.
• • • •
But the river ends in a white-knuckle ride. Until half a million years ago, the Congo River ended in a giant inland lake 225 miles from the ocean. Then the water breached the rocky sill of a plateau at modern-day Pool Malebo, a wide spot in the river where, today, on opposite banks, you'll find Kinshasa and Brazzaville, capitals of the two nations named for the Congo. (They're the world two nearest capital cities to each other, if you don't count Rome and the Vatican.) Through this new cut, the Congo River drops away in terrifying rapids, descending a full 12 feet every mile as a torrential amount of water-five times more than the Mississippi carries-zooms toward the ocean. There's no Congo delta. All the sediment from this newborn escape hatch scoured an amazingly deep gorge at the mouth of the Congo. Most of the world's great rivers end in a mazelike delta of tributaries, but not the Congo. Its water hits the Atlantic in a single narrow channel, which scientists believe is more than 750 feet deep at some points. That's enough water to submerge Manhattan's iconic Met Life Tower in the river-with plenty of room left over for fishing boats to pass overhead. Fast currents can speed up evolution. Biologists love the lower Congo, because it's the first place they've ever found animal populations divided not by mountains or oceans, but by river currents. The river is less than a mile wide here, but entirely new species of fish are evolving on the two banks, because impenetrable currents divide their habitats. This seemingly bottomless canyon is now known to hold more unique species than almost any other spot on Earth.

It is the second longest river in Africa (the Nile is the longest). It is the ninth longest river in the world. The Congo River is the deepest river in the world. It reaches depths of over 750 feet (230 meters). The river gets its name from the ancient Kongo Kingdom which existed near the mouth of the river. The river runs through the Congo rainforest which is the second largest rain forest in the world. It is also called the Zaire River. The Congo River’s sources are in the mountains and highlands of the East African Rift, as well as Lake Tanganyika and Lake Mweru. The Congo River is so powerful that if has the potential to supply all of sub-Saharan Africa's electricity needs. In 1482 Diego Cao was the first European known to sight and enter the Congo River. The main tributaries are the Ubangi, Sangha, and Kasai. There are more than 4,000 islands in the river; over fifty are at least ten miles long. The river crosses the equator twice. The river discharges a volume of water that is second only to the Amazon River. Numerous cataracts (large or high waterfalls), dangerous rapids, and numerous islands make navigation difficult or impossible in certain areas of the river. Two countries are named after the river, they are The Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of the Congo. The amount of water flowing out of the river is fairly constant year round due to the fact that some part of the river is always in a rainy season. Approximately seven hundred fish species have been recorded living in the Congo River. The total is probably much larger. The Congo River formed approximately 1.5 - 2 million years ago during the Pleistocene period.

The Arabic writer and explorer Ibn Battuta, who travelled some 120,000 kilometres in 29 years, no doubt ranks amongst the most prominent travellers of all time. After a widely acclaimed world premiere in November 2014, TCA Abu Dhabi Classics is proud to present concert again created by Jordi Savall for Abu Dhabi: Ibn Battuta: The voyager of Islam. The musical journey will follow the voyages of Ibn Battuta from North Africa and Egypt to Arabia, passing through Yemen and Sudan, sailing the Arabian Gulf, visiting Anatolia and reaching as far as Afghanistan. With the help of the ancient music ensemble Hespèrion XXI and with prominent Emirati artists, Grammy Award-winner Savall, one of the most exceptional figures in today’s music world and a major concert performer, will undertake the incredible task to recreate the music of Ibn Battuta’s spectacular travels. As one of the principal architects of the current revaluation of historical music, Savall, who plays viol and rebab, will, with some of the leading musical artists of the Arab world, guide us on a journey through time and space, performing the music Ibn Battuta heard during his visits to royal courts, palaces, public places or small villages. A long forgotten world and its enchanting atmosphere will come back to life through the magic of music which will be complemented by readings from Ibn Battuta’s exotic travel journal, allowing music and words to mix and recreate his marvellous adventure. Born in Tangiers in the Hijri year 703 (1304 AD), Ibn Battuta was an explorer, voyager and writer, visiting the Middle East, the Maghreb and Mashreq regions as well as parts of Africa, Europe and even the Far East. These extraordinary journeys were documented in his travel record, making him one of the first globetrotters (Jawwala) of history and one of the early masters of travel literature (Rihla). The Arab world remembers him as the “traveller of the Arabs” (Mussàfir al-Arab) and the “traveller

I am learning to play hockey, like my dad, at the Hili Ice Rink. It is SO much fun. I also really enjoy building things with Lego or even using boxes. My sister likes to play dress up with all of her Princess costumes. Most of all we love to play together.
